It’s a bummer too cuz the material was good, all 4 of us in the same room, you knew that had to spell disaster somehow, yeah, a phantom buzz. Wow, what can I say about our first show in 2 weeks… Still doing the show via Ubuntu Linux. (17 days, 10 hours, 7 minutes at the time of this writing). I talk about my trip to Maine, and coming back with 20 lbs of candy. We briefly cover UFC 97, then a partial review of the forthcoming UFC Undisputed 2009 based on the demo, so it’s not a full review yet. Then we go into an MVD concerning PETA, and a guy that killed his wife over a PS3?. We had an ROD scheduled but the train wheels fall completely off this one before we get to it. I was 4 Martinis deep and trying to figure out an echo issue which causes Matt to send a show ending text! Nothing was topping the end of this one. Enjoy the progress of my buzz, and enjoy the ending to this one.

We go into a little UFC talk with Dana White audio.. now before you fast forward that segment, it’s more in relation to political correctness and my hatred for the ESPN PC Empire. We then discuss an Ohio man who got a DUI with a motorized bar stool. Then Mike from Westchester questionmark calls in, there’s math humor which was right up Knee’s alley, some computer jokes, and after getting him off the phone and onto the skype call, we discuss why you are fat. Be sure to read along with that site toward the end of the show. Oh, and this final product is what happens when I don’t feel like editing but Knee and Matt force me to.

Big show this week that no one will listen to… or at least no one will admit to listening to there were 44 downloads of last week’s show… Anyways my new friend that I mentioned a few weeks ago stopped by the studio to help out with this one. Very special thanks to Vertical Matt. Bryan is podcasting from a hotel in Philly, or so he says, and Knee took a visit to spread the word of FKS in Gladstone, Oregon this week, great job Knee! A decent helping of MMA is in this as well as a special surprise, Georges St. Pierre stopped by to discuss BJ Penn’s cheating allegations, and also gave us some insight on preparing Kenny Florian for his upcoming match with BJ. Knee shows off his outstanding interview skills. We also cover the second round of fights in the Flying Knee Show March Madness Tournament, where we finally needed some help from outside the show (Well, we wouldn’t have but the tiebreaker decided to just stop doing his own show and leave unannounced). All in all, great show.

Tonight we honor the passing of a broadcast legend. The first 20 minutes of this podcast is an audio piece recoreded by Paul Harvey titled “The Testing Time” from the early 1960s, and you’ll have to keep reminding yourself of that while you listen. It’s simultaneously fascinating and creepy in how it holds up to this very day. Paul was one of my radio idols, and if it weren’t for him this podcast would probably not exist. So, tonight we pay homage and share some memories of the most familiar voice to ever grace the airwaves…. Then we get back to the dick jokes - litterally.

A very special thank you to Grimm who came in studio to help fill what would have otherwise been dead air.

So yeah it was our anniversary, although you wouldn’t be able to tell by our phones, and it’s apparent that we haven’t learned anything yet. This is shaping up to be a pretty good season. We’re still cleaning out some stories from 08. We cover a dummy from my home town that set his house on fire, a 9yr old that got treated like a drug dealer over cough drops, Nintendo’s answer to difficult gaming, the UFC ring card bimbo search for girls that know nothing about MMA, pigeon poop problems, and we wrap it up with 5 things from Knee. On our first episode of 2009, Sniper decides to redeem his prize that we have to do a show without him. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but it could have been much, much better. This is an extremely short show this week (64 minutes), as Knee was distracted by being sick, Matt is distracted because he is in the middle of packing for a move, and Bryan is distracted by shiny buttons. The levels are clearly not being controlled by Steve this week. Please let Steve know you never want him to take a show off again!

Welcome to season 4! Some dummies thought we were on vacation, we’re saving it for the holidays so we can continue to bring the 5 of you a semi-decent show. New season means new intro, and the god damn robot ruined this one… I’ll see what i can do, but to tell the truth i’m lazy. There’s also a new show naming bit that you listeners can participate in, listen to the show for details.

Mark joins us for this one, and fell asleep with Matt and Knee as Brian and Sniper spend a bit of time on a huge week in the UFC. A couple of follow-up stories from the Tech Oopsie department and the ISS broken toilet. Knee shares another bad date story, and it’s… strange to say the least. We also introduced the opening of doors bit in which we start explaining the many inside jokes on the show. We end this one with a new contest, The Flying Knee Shodown (yes it’s spelled right). Contestants will be giving us their own 5 things they hate about people and we’ll be judging them. This week Paul and Mark kick this one off. FKS# 39 - Gravity Sucks

Season finale, which I’m sure will make many people happy since that means a new intro. Also plenty of shenanigans in this one. This one starts off with the usual banter, Matt leaves a voicemail in which he’s a week behind as usual, Sniper talks about his Nordic Lodge experience and the recovery of the visit. We then switch modes to some news stories, Chris Leben makes an appearance in a shocker, then a HUGE tech oopsie from the land of the Google. Then we discuss product packaging and what Amazon.com is doing about it. In that mess there’s an ROD about diseases (it’s a good one). Then the show comes to a grinding halt when Knee has to leave for work and puts his intern on mic. We cover an outdated story about using a cattle prod on the unemployed, save the emails, we know that’d be a lot of people now and through no fault of their own. Knee comes back and does the 5 things he hates about people, then a doozy of a follow-up on the xbox kid. This is not one to be missed.

Lots of content in this one, a few seconds shy of a solid 2 hours. This one should have been titled the follow-up show since we had 4 of them. A couple seconds on MMA (there, now it’s not worth it to fast forward), an update to the story Knee wiped his ass with, then we move into some darker territory with a creepy coincidence of an 8 year old boy that killed himself with an Uzi the same day we were shooting one. I congratulate the Phillies only because of the audio I have, then another update on what has become Knee’s weekly PS3 masturbation segment called Little Big Planet. Then more terrible stories about husbands killing their wives, and families killing their children in NY. After that we touch on King of the Hill being canceled, and the fact that no one cares. The bow that ties this one together is 5 things that Bryan hates about people.

We quickly hit on the Kimbo slice fight from a couple weeks back, and Dana White’s reaction. There’s a problem with the space station, and we wrap this up with 5 Reasons Sniper Hates People. Our censored show is finally here! Something I didn’t think of when putting this show together was how funny the uncomfortableness would be, especially with Knee trying not to curse. This show is one for the ages, and we will definitely do another. So who won? You’ll have to listen to find out. No voicemails this week from our number 314-BOO-FKS1… that was a hint people. But we did get a call during this show which will be played next week! (I believe that’s called a tease)

We talk about The Ultimate Fighter 8, which, for all you fast forwarders out there, there’s sound clips you don’t want to miss. An 8 foot mechanical ape goes missing, then Knee’s robot hacks into the show due to a little jealousy. I hope you all have brushed up on, or remember if you were an 80’s baby, the$25,000 Pyramid. A nice rebound from last week, which on second listen wasn’t THAT bad… We pretty much stuck to one topic tonight; dining out. Grimm’s back again and he actually speaks this time. We discuss our experience at the newly opened Red Robin at Patriot Place in Foxboro. Then go into an article we found titled “13 Things your waiter won’t tell you” Of course the racial humor flies in this one too since we’re all watching the olympics during the podcast (shame on us).We wrap this one up with a related story about a guy who got prison time for putting a hair in a steak. Oh and Knee says something about sealions or something… no idea, but he went back to drinking this show so he was on fire. We want to thank Grimm for sitting in again, even though he punched me, prick. A nice and average hour and a half for this one.

I had to contemplate even sending this one to the mailing list or not. All over the place again, just not in a good way. Matt was in Vegas at Defcon on a shitty wifi connection, Knee didn’t feel well, we went from Olympics talk to tech talk to “let’s just end the show”. Not our worst, but it’s down there, there were a couple of highlights. 1 in 26 ain’t bad, right? Or maybe some people should just have the show notes open so we don’t keep going off on humorless tangents.
