HOLY FUCKING HELL! Beware new releases of 2012...Alabama Shakes has made quite the impression and I'm not even done listening to it. If any band that I've listened to so far this year is going to get a grammy anytime in the near future it's going to be these hotass hoes! I cannot say enough good things about these blues, rock, and indie inspired mofos. I haven't heard an album in a while that has captured my attention so easily and kept me wanting more! Did I mention that I haven't heard this much SOUL in a while either...ok ok....I guess I'm in love!

Hamilton said, “My parents were always the type to find an artist and album they liked and then listen to it non-stop in the car for years. It’s these tapes which, whether I liked them at the time or not, formed an undeniable part of my musical DNA: Carole King, Falco, a truck-stop Hits of the 1960s compilation. The songs of the For Paolo EP are a valentine of sorts to those old cassettes of my parents – I’d like to think there’s more than just a dash of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Tango in the Night’ in the title track, a little bit of girly one-hit wonder in ‘One To Many’. But then again, whenever I think I’m getting pretty close at sounding one way, I’m the only one who hears it – so you’ll have to excuse the thought that there’s a little bit of Boys Don’t Cry’s ‘I Wanna Be a Cowboy’ and Iron Butterfly mixed in here somewhere too.”

Tracy Shedd (featured on One Tree Hill, Fuel TV, Dawson's Creek) is heading out on a full US Winter Tour, supporting her latest releases: Cigarettes & Smoke Machines (Teen-Beat Records), EP88 (Eskimo Kiss Records), and her split 7inch with Wet & Reckless(via our very own Fort Lowell Records), as well as her contribution to the Luz de Vida benefit compilation (Fort Lowell Records). Shedd's last US Tour was in 2004, in support of her third full length release, Louder Than You Can Hear (Devil In The Woods Records), so everyone is very excited to hear what she's been working on the past few years. Shedd will be touring as a duet, playing guitar and piano herself. There might even be an iPhone involved in her set, somehow!

Not only am I super excited about this show, but I'm super PUMPED about meeting the one and only...super adorable Tracy Shedd! I promise if you love red velvet cupcakes and gooey gooey gum drops and everything that is sweet and good in this world....YOU WILL LOVE TRACY SHEDD!

I've been blasting this video all day at work and now I can't wait to see her perform live!
