Time to say goodbye

2015-03-13T13:53:00.001-04:00

It's time to pack up the dartboard, defrost the beer fridges and say goodbye to our old building. Today marks the last beer club Friday on Hull St. So when you have your beer today take a look out over the water and give a wink to Mr. Boh.

But don't get too sad. We have lots of beer related events and perks planned for you in the near future. The Beer Cart will be making it's last round on Tuesday. We've also made sure that you'll be welcomed with open arms at the bar Of Love and Regret right across the street from the new place. (see their AOL specials below) Don't forget we'll have a brand new kegorator at the new place! I'm working on the budget for that now. Finally - and this is special - mark your calendars for March 26th when we'll get a visit from Canton Crossing Wine & Spirits along with their friends from Drizly and Jailbreak Brewing Company. I hear Jailbreak will have 5 kegs and lots of schwag in tow! Good times are on their way!!!1

Twas the Night Before Christmas

2014-12-24T11:56:00.000-05:00

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all I could hear
Was my party guests screaming, "We've run out of beer!"
I laughed for a moment, said, "They're pulling my leg,"
For I had just tapped a half-barrel keg.

"No, really, we're out!" someone shrieked out of fright.
And the crowd grew more restless, surely there would be a fight.
"Now relax," I said calmly "I've got plenty more brew."
"I've got Coors in the pantry, and Schlitz in the loo."

But my pantry was bare, and my fridge empty, too,
Gone, too was the six-pack I kept in the loo.
My pulse quickly rose and my heart sank with fear
For what kind of people could drink that much beer?

I looked at my guests; some invited, some not.
And I smelled the unmistakable sweet smell of pot.
Then I saw two girls giggle with glassy-eyed grins.
There was no mistaking: It was the Bush Twins.

They had drank all my beer and smoked all my stash.
Now I was lamenting my Christmas Eve bash.
The girls were shot-gunning the last can of Bud,
When up on the roof I heard a great THUD!

Then down from the chimney came a jolly fat dude.
He said, "Ran out of beer? Aw, man that's just rude.
"Lucky for you, you've been a good boy.
"So I will provide you with great Christmas joy."

And out of his sack he proceeded to bring
cases of beer (Oh, it made my heart sing).
More Bud and more Coors, even Michelob Light
More Killian's and Beck's; what a wonderful sight!

My guests started cheering, the Bush girls did flips.
Even the secret service were whetting their lips.
The Kennedy's came by; John Daly did, too.
The Spirit of Christmas was sure coming through.

I looked out my window and spotted St. Nick
Chugging a pitcher, and chugging it quick!
And I heard him exclaim as he flew fast away,
"Drink, but don't drive" as he crashed his new sleigh.

Beer Crisis Averted

2014-09-26T16:32:00.002-04:00

A moment after 3:30, I checked the fridge. "Hmm, that's strange. The beer is usually here by now." I then checked Tyler's fridge. "Empty. Unusual."

At which point it dawned on me... "I'M IN CHARGE OF GETTING BEER."

Thanks to Rig for helping me grab the beer and get it to the office at 4. A gaffe truly worthy of a Vice President - Cheers, champs.

Belgium. That's where he is. He's in freakin Belgium. Probably enjoying Belgian beers, Belgian waffles, Belgian lace, Belgian chocolate and Belgian BEERS. I'm trying really hard not to be jealous right now. So let's raise a glass to our Beer Club President and wish him a safe return. Let's just hope he brings back a few Westvleteren bottles to share too. *hint*hint*
