Have a dog at home and looking to introduce some healthier food options? Homemade dog food has really gained in popularity and it really isn't as difficult or time consuming as you may think. I was introduced to a really Easy cooked dog food recipe (and video) that many canines would love plus it yeilds 48 cups of dog food! That's quite a bit. I'm not sure about the rice since we had eliminated grains from our dogs diet some time ago. We decided to go holistic all the way as our personal preference. However, this site is interesting and something to explore if you are having issues with your current dog food and may not be interested in the ever growing popular raw diet (which we also tried). I'm not sure about the cost analysis of the homemade recipe but after all the dog food recalls and associated health scares for our dogs this might be a useful site for you. 5 Signs of Out of Control Debt

At some point in their lives, everyone has debt; however, some people quickly find their debt spiraling out of control. There are many warning signs to look for before debt becomes an insurmountable mountain. Learning how to manage debt, rather than being controlled by debt is a skill one would do well to learn. Recognizing the warning signs of out of control debt and spending can also save a lot of grief later down the road.

1. Living Beyond your Means

If an individual is spending more than they make, and is unable to retain even a small portion of their paycheck for savings- then they are living beyond their means. Millions of Americans are financially in over their head, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. One of the best ways to get your spending under control is by knowing where your money is going. Find ways to cut costs and put that money towards a savings account.

2. Creditors' Calls

If multiple creditors are calling multiple times, that is a good sign there is out of control debt. The best way to end the harassing phone calls of creditors is to start paying what is owed. This may mean seeking out debt help through a debt consolidation program. Debt consolidation allows an individual with multiple debts to receive a loan large enough to cover the old debt in exchange for one affordable monthly payment.

3. Additional Debt

Many people try to be frugal in order to pay down their debt while failing to realize they continuously add new debt on a regular basis. While being frugal is a good thing, adding new debt will just compound the problem. The best way to avoid new debt is to make a commitment to only out-right buy or barter desired items. It may take longer than one would wish to save up rather than easily signing on the dotted line, but it is well worth it in the end.

4. Spending Based on Emotions

People often fall into the trap of feeling like they need to keep up with their neighbors, alleviating stress with retail therapy, and/or buying items to feel better about themselves. This is one of the fastest ways of piling up the credit card debt and entering a financial quagmire that is hard to get out of. It does take self-discipline and it can be hard to recognize instances of emotionally-based shopping, but there is a great reward, both in your personal life and your financial life, when you can see it for yourself and do what is necessary to bring it under control.

5. Minimum Payment Payer

The minimum payment will never get you out of debt. In order to bring debt fully under control, new debt must not be added and more than the minimum monthly payment must be paid. Paying more than the minimum will also save possibly thousands of dollars a year in interest and finance charges. If you have a $5,000 balance on just one card, using 14% APR, it would take more than twenty years to pay it off when paying only the minimum payment.

Out of control debt can be brought under control with recognition, patience and a plan.

I don’t get to watch it very often, but I love to watch House Hunters International. Whenever I can catch it on, I can’t help but sit down and watch it! It’s one reason I renew my satellite television subscription through www.ExpertSatellite.com every year. Not only is it a cool, realistic glimpse at places that I will probably never get to visit and maybe have never heard of, but it also gives me something to dream about. To have the money to be able to by a vacation home in an exotic locale would be awesome. Or it’s fun to imagine what it would be like to really pic up your family and move to an exotic locale. Of course, that’s not something completely unheard of but for most of us with homes, extended family who depend on us, good jobs etc., picking up and moving to another country isn’t in the cards. That doesn’t mean we can’t dream about it or live vicariously through those who do! I especially love how the show visits the people at the end to see how they’ve made the place theirs and are fitting it. It’s always a happy ending—everyone is always wonderful and things are always going great!
