For some reason, I was looking for you. Yes you, my blog. And I don't know why. Maybe because I am somehow lost right now. Not really lost but a bit in hiatus or floating? Not sure though If I am making any sense.

Last time you were hiding, I wasnt able to open you, I even thought you got lost along the way. I missed you, and I miss this. It's a good feeling to talk, maybe this is what I needed, to unload and just type my brains out.

Vietnam ramblings.

Day 0-1

Travel to Ho Cho Minh via Cebu Pacific, arrive at Tan Son Nat International Airport, around 2:00 Phl time. Vietnam is an hour delayed from our time. Flight was delayed for almost 30mins.

We easily passed the immigration, no visa for Filipinos :) Yey! Just in case be ready for your Hotel Accommodation and return ticket.

At the airport we exchanged USD to Vietnam currency, Dong. My 300USD is worth 6,270,000 Dong. Instant Millionaire :) based on my research this is the best changer since they have 0% commission.

We scout for a cab to bring us to Mui Ne, its a 5hr travel from Ho Chi Minh. Vinasun and Mai Linh are the legit cab operators here. Be ready since Vietnamese are really terrible in English. You really have to be patient. After haggling, we agreed on the 110USD fixed price with Comfort Savico cab operator. They will be giving you a business calling card where they will write the amount agreed. They asked us to pay in full right away, at first we are hesitant to pay but we did and just asked for receipts.

The Detour: Crystal Beach Zambales

What do you do when your most awaited trip of the year won't push through? I initially sulked and feel super depressed! Because you know, we are supposed to be going to EL NIDO, as in EL NIDO! My Dream Destination - cheap tickets, van reservation and room reservation are already paid. And then poof - I am preggy! I would really love to go on the trip but since our flight is MNL-PPC, we are going to endure long land travel with rough roads and my doctor advised NO because of my sensitive pregnancy. Why not just stay to PPC? We just visited the place last year, and it is still fresh from our memory.

I have really planned for this trip, I resigned from my work and haggle with my new employer on my new start date to accommodate this trip. Carlo already filed his vacation leave and I don't want to stay in our room for 6 days thinking we could have been seeing paradise now while eating lots of sweets!

So plan B! We planned a road trip to Zambales and Pangasinan. It will be safe for me since Carlo will be driving and anytime I need to stretch we can stop.

We left Manila at around 10am, so basically we reach Subic at around 1pm. Since it is already late, we decided to stay at Subic with free room accommodation c/o our sponsors! :)

So basically, we did nothing in Subic, we just relax and roam a little. Did our grocery and plenty of sleeping for me :)

Day 2, we woke up early to visit Crystal Beach Zambales. It's actually just a 1 hour drive from Subic.
Crystal Beach is one of the famous surf spot in Luzon. It offers affordable accommodation with a rustic vibe. Definitely a place to be for wanna be surfers like us.

The weather was not at it's greatest, it's drizzling every now and then. And the waves are kinda huge because there's an LPA. But it's just perfect for pro surfers. They are stoked!

I am really envious that only Carlo got to try surfing here while I enjoy basking in the sun watching my dearest play in the sand. But he said, that it wasn't really a good ride because the waves are overwhelming.

Just a note: During our stay there was a robbery incident in one of the guest villas. I think since they are a big group around 20pax they became the target. I would still recommend the place just be a little extra careful. Since it's not a five star hotel don't expect stricter security.

The place is nice, but I still heart La Union.

Gab's First Fieldtrip

I used to remember my mom always accompanies me during my field trip. She will stay at the back with other co-parents and I will just approach her when I'm hungry and I need cash to buy something. How I love to know that she will always makes time for me. The memory is still vivid and now I am playing her role.

I was excited for Gab and for myself. This is his first ever field trip and my first ever field trip to attend as a mom. Bought a lot of snacks and brought a lot of stuffs too :)

Our first stop was the Galinco Factory in Laguna. Isn't he just a cutie wearing that hairnet? He was so happy to have that piece of cookie, and I was thinking, heck, I paid Php2.4k for that. Hehe

Next is the Tagaytay Picnic Grove.

Paradizoo, where we went like 2x or more already.

Then the air-conditioning of the bus just died. The parents are all getting real mad, the sun was at it's peak and the traffic in SLEX was just crazy. Good thing Gab was asleep, however, I cannot take the heat and I really feel suffocated. The bus style is another disadvantage, because there are no windows to open. That is why I asked Carlo to pick us up already, but he also got stuck in traffic and good thing we already reached our next destination. But I am not going back inside that bus again.

Last stop is at Bio-research Lost Eden in Sucat, I was surprised with this place, I thought that this was just a store but the place is really huge and they housed lots of animals too.

It was a very tiring day but it was fulfilling to be a stage mom! Hahaha :)

I can't even remember when was the last time I posted an entry here. I miss writing my thoughts and I definitely miss traveling.

For the past months er year, I have been busy with a lot of things like work, babies and life.

Just to give you a quick update of what Ive been up to...

Let me introduce you to my new travel buddy... SETH CARLO aka "BOCHI" GOZE.

I really can't wait for him to grow up so we can hit the road again :)

My two princes

We have not been traveling for quite some time because we are saving for one special day in our life, last March 8, 2013, I officially became Mrs. Ma.Cristina Capati-Goze.

An intimate celebration by the beach with my loved ones, is definitely a dream come true.

It was truly a magical moment for us.

Though the celebration, depleted our funds, it was really worth it. While waiting for Bochi to grow-up, we'll be replenishing our travel funds :)

Lala-La Union

I easily get addicted with things. Shopping, Traveling and now Surfing. We have been back and forth to San Juan, La Union one of the closest surfing spot in Luzon.

It is actually a long drive, 6-7hrs from Manila and fortunately I don’t know how to drive. Hahaha! Good thing “Tamamot” – our car, is automatic. We usually leave at around 3-4am and arrive at San Juan before lunch time.

We have tried staying at Lola Nanny's and Hacienda Peter, and I recommend the latter because of the place and the price. Ate Pacita is very accommodating and she gives big discount. I would also like to stay at Sebay Surf and San Juan Surf Resort.

There are lots of food joints in the area, we have tried Lola Nannys, Sea Nymph Cafe and Sebay Resort. One of the most recommended is the Midway Grill, however, you have to drive going there.

The lessons in San Juan is Php400 - board and instructor included making it Php50 more costly than that of Balers. They also have a whole day rate Php800, but board only. I recommend Kuya Nano's Team for surfing lessons. I think they have the same rate with Luke Landrigan's Team but you know, I'd go for some low profile and Luke's already rich! :)

The waves here are more subtle compare to Baler, but it is less salty. Baler have spectacular sunrise but La Union offers to die for sunset.

Babbbba- BALER

Needless to say, I love traveling, I also see it as a way to become closer to friends and loved ones. I have traveled with my newly found friends and even joined tour groups. But I have never traveled with my high school best friends. They are the people who knew me through my bone marrow (hahaha... sagad sa buto). But honestly, they are my "go to" people, when nobody will ever understand me.

For the past decade we have been contented by hanging out in the mall, coffee, and sleepovers. We always plan to go out but it never push through because of their busy schedules. We are only 5 in the group but we really struggle syncing our schedule. And now we are down to 4 because Iel is working oversees. Lala works for a bank, Tin is studying and working at a hospital and Kt is a full-time med student.

One weekend while having siomai and cheapo coffee at some convenient store, Kt, Lala and I, decided to just go out of town. Choices are Baler or Cagbalete - but Lala already went to Cagbalete, so finally we are down to Baler. It was a long weekend of the Aloha Surf & Music Festival.

It was really hard to find an accommodation at the time, all recommended home stays and resorts are fully booked. I have texted a lot of people, good thing, SMART Beach was kind enough to give me feed backs about reservations. And voila, there was a cancellation! Yahoo! Php700 good for 3-4pax! What a steal! I immediately confirmed our reservation without the replies of my friends - almost a mistake!

A day before our trip, Kt canceled on us, and I have to think Plan B, because I confirmed our accommodation, or else I'll have to pay that Php700. Good thing, Carlo and Gab is free for the weekend and also Wrigley - Lala's bf. And yEy! We are off to Baler!

We are also bringing Tamamot -our car, based on my research the road to Baler is already passable by a car. I am so positive on this till we reached the Canili Road, where there are patches of rough roads. Tamamot was really tested, and I feel so sorry for all the bruised and scratches she received during our journey.

Passing by Sierra Madre was just awesome, I remembered my Civics and Culture Class and memorizing it as the longest mountain range in the Philippines. And seeing it upfront is priceless. We also passed by Canili and Pantabangan Dam.

We arrived at Sabang Beach, Baler, around 2pm - it was almost a 8hr trip. I was not that awe by the beach, but the place is really refreshing. The sand is black and the waves are beginning to get big, perfect for surfing. It was also drizzling and surfers are swarming the beach.

Our accommodation at Smart Beach, exceeded my expectations. It was a kubo-type room with own CR, with dining area. The sheets looks and smells clean. Very much worth the price.

We had lunch at Bay's Inn, the food is ok - taste and price. It was the famous place to eat in Sabang Beach.

Gab was just contented in playing the sand, he's kinda afraid of the waves. While I was just also enjoying the view and watching the people.

At night, we enjoyed ourselves with booze and lot of stories - making it one helluva night bonding. :)

Next day, we tried surfing! And all I can say is that I fell in love with it! Being stoked (or mostly being wiped out) gave me a different feeling. And while writing this, I was remembering my trip to La Union - echoing the voice of my instructor saying - Paddle, Paddle, Paddle, Ready, Stand! Hahaha! :)

The Best of 2011

I am too lazy to make a blog post but I am just envious of my blogger friends who have made a round of their wonderful year. I can definitely say that 2011 is my travel year. I have been to many places that I never thought I would reach this year. Special thanks to Dominic of Escapeislands.com for inviting us to his memorable trips. I would also like to extend my gratitude to my on-line friends the Pinoy Travel Bloggers and of course the Bagets, you guys fuel the traveler in me.

Batangas, Amansinaya and Ambon-ambon Falls:

It was nice to start year 2011 with a new company and new found friends.

Batangas, Church Hopping:

Part of our yearly Lenten Season Ritual is the Visita Iglesia, in just less than 24hrs we have toured around Batangas to visit it's historical and heritage churches.

Zambales, Subic Tree Top Adventure:

Nothing beats an all girls road trip and the adrenaline rush from jumping in heights! :)

Cavite, Tagaytay:

A quick getaway from Manila, R and R with the fambam!

I have good and not-so good trips, but all of them was fun! And my adventure to Albay and Sorsogon was so-so, even though I didn't get to see the Mt.Mayon and the whale sharks, I still enjoyed barrio life and the company of my friends.

My 2nd trip to Cebu for the year was just a quickie, so we decided to just tour around Mactan and we visited Plantation Bay.

Bohol:

Yearly trip with my college buddies was worth the truancy I committed :)

Camarines Norte, Calaguas Island:

I have been raving about this place for so long, so when Dominic sent an invitation, I immediately say yes! It was extra special because Gab is tagging along and Carlo will be celebrating his birthday :)

Zambales, Mt. Pinatubo:

My birthday trip for the year and my first trekking adventure. It was also an outreach event which was also organized by Dominic. This trip made me realized that I have a lot to be thankful for.

Cebu, Moalboal:

I was sent to Cebu for work and it was great to have a day-off for a quick side trip. It was also my first time to have a meet up with other bloggers. Special thanks to Doi, Edcel and Edwin!

Aurora, Baler:

Lala and I, have been best friends for more than a decade, but we never have a trip together! A road trip to Baler was extra fun because we get to try surfing.

Puerto Princesa: Iwahig Firefly tour

When I went to a vacation or a place, as much as possible I want to try and experience everything the destination have to offer. That is why we almost missed our flight back home, but if you think about the plane fare, accommodation and other expenses, you yourself would want to maximize your limited time.

I once read that effective blogging is writing your experience while it is fresh and having a journal to write down the details is helpful. So did I follow it? Let's just say I just read it recently. :)

Dock area - I am real bad at low light

Last August when we visit Puerto Princesa, I did not missed the chance to experience the now famous Iwahig Firefly Tour. The experience was just amazing that I couldn't just remember the details now. So I just did a bullet points of what I can remember :)

The tour cost us Php800 per pax - Transpo, boat and entrance fee
It was 45min drive from the city but our driver was just crazy did it with 20mins
The docking station is a century old Balete tree
The boat can only hold a max of 3 persons + 1 guide, it is mandatory to wear your life vest
The ride is more than 3km (back and forth)
River is made up of brackish water - my favorite learning - a mixture of fresh and salt water
Be prepared for total darkness while cruising the boat. Imagine Lake Placid? And I also asked if there are crocodiles, tour guide says he wouldn't be there if one has ever been seen.
It is best to go on a not full moon, because the moonlit interferes with the light of the fireflies
Fireflies are bioluminescence - their abdomen light when they breath and it is their way to attract a mate.
Why do they light? Because of the chemical reaction in their bodies, our tour guide gave me the combination of formula but I couldn't remember a thing he said.
Fireflies are natural indicators of a healthy environment
They are sensitive with red light
Fireflies are choosy when it comes to mangroves, they only like a particular specie of mangroves called Nilad. Tour guide says Manila was once full of Nilad mangroves, that is why it was named Maynilad. - Imagine that?
Our tour guide, which I also forgot the name, is a volunteer residence from Iwahig. He was really good at giving information and explaining things. His parents are employees in the Iwahig Penal Colony
Iwahig Penal Colony is the Alcatraz of the Philippines, but the prisoners are free to roam around.
Planktons can also be seen in the river and they lit too, but we were not able to see it because of the rainy weather.

Yey! I still remember things but next time I want to practice having a travel journal to be more accurate and specific. You see, traveling is one of the best way to learn!

Puerto Princesa: Underground River

For our last day in Puerto Princesa we visited the world famous Underground River.

This day was unforgettable, both good and bad.

We started the day early, because we have to prepare our things for Manila and we need to check out early before the tour van picked us up.

The van picked us up before 9am, an hour late on the agreed time. Tour guide says they had a hard time securing our permit because a lot of people are in-line to get one. Then we also picked up other guest and it took us some time to do that because other guests are nowhere to be found. By 930am we were now bound for Sabang.

The ride took us about 1.5-2 hours, if I remember it correctly we reach Sabang port at 11am. At the port a lot of people are in line, and I was just agitated to get on the boat, see UR and then leave. The reason is our flight is on the same day at 6pm. Yes, and because I want to squeeze everything in our limited time I have to suffer.

Manay, our tour guide says that we are still in line for the boat and it is much better if we take our lunch first. We had our lunch at Sabang beach. I could have enjoyed the lunch with a magnificent view, but all I was thinking are the what-ifs on the possibility of missing our flight. What's even worst in our situation is that the group we are with are not in any rush. They still wanna do photo-ops and take a dip in the beach. I can't blame them, Sabang beach is real nice. But we cannot leave without them.

After lunch, Manay even suggested that we just walk in the beach towards the port. I know it's a good idea, but not for us. Walking is tolerable, but the thought that the others are not in a hurry, doing photo-ops will take us more time. I was trying my best to enjoy the view and not think about our flight, but I was really having a hard time forgetting about the time.

When we reach the UR, I thought that we are just going to ride the paddle boat. But to my surprise there are tons of people waiting for their turn too. And another even worst situation is that the boatmen are now having their lunch break. Hahaha! Imagine my stress and my anxiety in waiting.

I was waiting in vain – literally, because I couldn’t take the smell of the place. The stench of bat urine is all over the place.

When Manay told us that it’s our turn, I couldn’t much be happier to just get on the pedal boat and finished the tour. But I still appreciate the marvelous beauty of the rock formations.

No. 1 rule while inside UR, DO NOT OPEN YOUR MOUTH when you look up, unless you would like to get a taste of fresh water or fresh urine. :)

The Holy Family

The river contains brackish water, a mixture of salt and fresh water.

The whole UR river is 8.2km long but the tour which is about 45minutes will not cover the entire 8.2km, because some areas are restricted.

Our tour guide is very good in pointing and describing the rock formations. They called part of the area, the Cathedral, because the rock formations show images of the Holy Family, Mama Mary and angels. Another part is called the Salad Bowl, because of the different images of vegetables, I just can’t remember what are those. :)

Finally, we finished the tour and we catch our flight! At exactly 5:30pm, we checked in having front row seats! Manay, have some connections at the airport and she called in a favor for us. But next time, I will never do this kind of itinerary, I never want to experience this kind of agitation again.

He is so positive and I love him for that :)

Sulking

By this time I should be boarding the plane going to paradise with a big smile, but NOOOOO! I am stuck in the office with more frustrations than ever.

How could this happen? Maybe because I was too excited in booking our flights that I failed to anticipate what his schedule would be and what is our financial status after a lot of traveling.

What I thought would be a cheap airfare is now an unforgivable sunk cost.

I thought I would be crossing out an item on my to do list for the year, but no I just have to endure this disappointment.

I said to myself that I would not think of what could have been for this day, but I simply can’t avoid imagining the powdery white sand of the beach, my plan of waking up on our beachfront accommodation with the sound of the waves at night and the adrenaline being up high or submerged in the water.

Ending with a HUMONGOUS sigh…

Puerto Princesa: Araceffi Island aka Dos Palmas

I am now committed to cheap traveling, but once in a while splurging on special occasion is not bad at all. Last years splurged was at Mactan Shangri la and this year is Puerto Princesa Dos Palmas and I am now thinking whats for next year? :)

For our day tour, we went to NCC Mall since Dos Palmas office is located there. But we already pre-arranged this tour, there are lots of people signed up, so I suggest you booked early too to avoid delay. The departure time of the van is 7am, it will drop us off to Sta. Ana wharf. Dos Palmas is within the vicinity of Honda Bay and from the wharf we also rode a boat for 2 hrs going to the island.

They welcomed us with an ethnic music and a drink. Gave a short orientation on what we can do in the island, what are free and what are not. Did not kept us long to savor what they can offer.

What we did first was to try snorkeling, all gears are free. But you have to ride a boat to go to the snorkeling site but no worries, it's also free. What can I say about the site, I did not enjoy it that much because the water was not that clear. There are few colorful fishes, and you have to go to farther from the floating cottage. And there are humongous and lots of baby jelly fish around the area. And lots of territorial fishes that bit me plus the place leaved me a nasty mark, because I bumped into a sort of coral and I have been itching because of it for a week.

Next activity, kayaking or I might say riding in a kayak while Carlo do the kayaking. We also tried biking, but I don't know how to balanced myself, oh yeah, poor me.

Finally, my most awaited part! Buffet lunch! What's nice about it is that you don't need to find a seat, because they already pre-assigned the seats. But would you believe, because we where so hungry we sat on a seat that's not ours! Hahaha! We just switched the names to cover up for our mess. The viands are not that memorable but their salad especially the Mango-Prawn Salad was awesome.

After eating, we went for a walk, check out the place. Some are under renovations and on-going construction. But the place is real huge and big part of it is not yet developed.

We signed up for an aromatheraphy massage and it was just relaxing and perfect. But you know, it comes with a cost. After seeing the bill on my credit card that is the time I kinda regret it, 1 hour for Php1,200 each. Tsk! Alright, moving on.

While waiting for the boat to take us home, he had a relaxing nap while I savored the view and dreamed for my next destination.

Puerto Princesa: Honda Bay Island Hopping - Snake Island and Pambato Reef

For the continuation of our Honda Bay Island Hopping tour, we next visit Snake Island, too bad the weather is not fine that I really can't appreciate the beauty of the place. But as long as there is a sand, water and fresh air I am totally cool with it. It was called Snake Island not because of abundance of snake in the area but because of the long stretched of white sand that resembles a snake on the water if viewed from above.

There are lots of cottages and stores along the beach shore, it is more rustic compare to Pandan Island. The water is also crystal clear but be very careful because the water here is sudden depth ("biglang lalim"). You should definitely ask your guide to accompany you while snorkeling. And the fishes here are really big. You can see here a lot of school of fish, reminds me of my dream to see a school of sardines. I wore my life vest here because at almost 3-4 yards from the shore, the water is already at 40ft or more. Better safe than sorry.

Last stop is Pambato Reef, where my sorta dream comes true. It is called Pambato Reef, because "pambato" is a Filipino term for bet or contender. Our tour guide says that Pambato Reef is their bet/contender against the famous Tubbataha Reef. I have never been to Tubbataha Reef, so I can never can tell, but I know that you have to be a licensed diver to enjoy Tubbatah Reef.

However, if you are a beach bum you will not be able to enjoy Pambato Reef, for there is no beach here. They have a floating platform with a roof designed with a turtle. They have an area for fish feeding only and there is an area where you can snorkel. The guide says that you are not allowed to feed while snorkeling because it may damaged or kill the corals.

It was so not nice that my borrowed underwater camera died the moment we stepped here. The reef was really gorgeous, amazing and awesome. My words are not enough to describe what I felt when our tour guide helped me roam around. I felt like I am Ariel wondering around my kingdom! Hahaha! No but really, the reef was amazing. Our tour guide let me hold different kinds of coral, which of course I already forgot the name.

The fishes here are really colorful but not that many, in spite the fact that the water is not really clear because of the weather I really had a great time here. But I did not get to see the whole reef because tide is getting low. One of my dreams is to experience underwater like scuba diving or ride the submarine made of glass. But my experience in Pambato Reef is a preview of what I need to achieve, and I super liked it. That is why my next venture is really to try scuba diving. But not till next year, my funds are running low and I need to save for this thing! Hehe :)

We did not get to visit other islands because of the time and weather, but I was well satisfied with the three. And you can see Luli Island from Pambato Reef.

Puerto Princesa: Honda Bay Island Hopping - Pandan Island

It’s been 10 years and this will be our first time to travel alone as a couple. We tried travelling but the farthest we got was Club Manila East and Antipolo road tripping. Hehe. The weather in Manila was gloomy, there’s a low pressure area around the corner. I have been doing sun dance in my mind till the moment I wake up.

Gabriel felt that we are about to leave him and he woke up crying. We cuddled him a little and make expensive promises. We had no time to take our breakfast at home, that’s why we have to buy at the airport, which cost a lot more. We are the last to checked-in and as fortunate as it can get, there are no available seats together.

Hello Pandan Island!

It was already 9:30am when we alight in Puerto Princesa City Airport, good thing our airport transfer is already waiting for us. We checked in at La Charica and change clothes, we have not yet finished our welcome drinks when the van arrived to pick us.

I missed you fresh air

At first I thought that we are the only one in the van/boat, but we joined a group consisting of cool people namely, Ms. Tess, Levy, Noel, Sandy, Ica, Abby, Mac, and Jay. It was a such small world because Jay and I are friends from facebook but I did not know it till I met him! Hahaha! :)

It was already 11am-ish when we arrived at the Sta. Ana Wharf. I looked and asked around about the real rates on island hopping just to compare the “should-be” expenses/hassle if we DIY the trip. We paid Php2,200 for this tour including transfers, boat, entrance fees, snorkel gears and lunch.

What I failed to ask is the van transportation to the wharf, but I think it'll range from Php1,500 and up.

The weather was real gloomy and a little bit rainy. On our first stop, we docked at Pandan Island, where we also had our lunch. The place is gorgeous and water is crystal clear. There are cottages and beach huts all over the place, tourist swamped the place.

There are lots of activities you can do here like ride banana boat, UFO, jetski, zorb and of course snorkeling. We tried snorkeling because it's free. Other activities are way expensive. But there are lots of sea plants in the water, but they say the cute/colorful fishes are there. But I am too afraid of what I do not see because of those sea plants. I just content myself in feeding the fish and I love it and they are just plain beautiful.

We have recently visited Puerto Princesa and the city was so great. It have been under the management of Mayor Hagedorn for almost 13years and they have zero percent crime rate. Amazing indeed. They also have a strict policy regarding littering and smoking. The people are really disciplined, I wished that people in Metro Manila would adopt the same behavior. At night we roam around the city by ourselves and I feel secure about the place.

Puerto Princesa has a lot to offer, you can tour around the city and see the nature up close. Among the famous landmark here is the Underground River, which is included in the UNESCO list of natural world heritage sites. It is an 8.2km long underground river which showcases the beautiful formation of limestone, stalactites and stalagmites.

Currently the Underground River is declared as an official finalist to the search of the new 7 wonders of nature. Let us support our country by voting in the new 7 wonders of nature. A Decade and Still Counting...

Caution to my readers (if I have) this is a sorta mushy post.

We have known each other since we’re 13, not really friends. But rather as enemies, I could still remember how I got punched (literally) because of you. I never liked you, I could still remember the times I bullied you.

Then we got separated for a year, I grew into a beautiful swan and you into something tolerable. Then you started calling me, asking for assignments even if we are not classmates. At that time, texting was the “it” thing. We began to text constantly, asking each other random unnecessary things. You suddenly became sweet and I got alarmed.

There are people around us that have history with you and they are real close to me. I knew that the history is ambiguous and unclear, but still, there is something. I feel very hesitant to reciprocate whatever concerns you’re giving me. But in the end I fell in to that giddy charm of yours.

We have been through a lot, not just a lot but a tons of ups and downs. There are countless times that you have broken my heart. And I admit that there are immeasurable times that I have hurt you. But let’s not be sorry for all those things as it molds us to be a better partner we are right now.

I want you to know that I am very thankful to have you as my companion for life, Gab and I appreciate every sacrifice that you are doing for us. It may not seem that way sometimes but it’s true. You are a generous provider and I hope you can buy me that Mac book pro soon!

I know there is something you want to hear from me, this thing that you want. I have been thinking why I can’t do it and there are a million reasons why. I am not yet ready because I am afraid of the “what ifs”. But I failed to look at the other side of the coin. Next year we can look back at those “what ifs”. I am now googling “how to get married in the Philippines” so no backing out.

We are not perfect; you and I are both different persons. We love and hate everything about each other and up to now, I am trying to figure out what do we have in common.

I am dominant you say you are influential.
The list could go on forever, but we have a lifetime to learn and share each other’s fixation and passion.

Cebu: Moalboal, better than Panglao?

There are times I love my work because I get to have free travel and this time I get to visit Cebu again! We scheduled our travel on a Thursday and allotted 2 working days to finished our work, good thing our boss is real kind and suggested to us to extend on the weekend so we can have some R&R. Actually, that was really the plan with or without her permission! Hahaha!

Initially, I am eyeing on visiting Malapascua, Camotes or Bantayan, but since we have limited time it's impossible to do it on an overnight stay. So we ended up visiting Moalboal!

We woke up real early to catch the early bus ride going to Moalboal, it was real hard for me to wake up at 6am because I got settled in the Hotel West Gorordo at around 2am because of the PTB Meetup with Doi, Edcel and Edwin, but it was super worth it and I really had a great time with them! :)

From the hotel we took the cab to Southern Terminal Bus Station. Then we rode the Ceres bus going to Moalboal. It was a long 3 hours drive on a non-air conditioned bus and I love it because I get to catch up with my sleep. But I was real sweaty when I woke up because the sun is already at its peak at 9am.

At around 11am we reached Moalboal, we alight in the market to buy foods and other necessities. From the market we hire a tricycle to take us to Basdaku White Beach. If I estimated it correctly, the ride from the market to the beach is approximately 15mins. Kuya Ping, our tricycle driver led us to one of the for rent beachfront accommodation. After negotiating with the owner, we paid P1,000 for a small beachfront room. I told you, I'm not real choosy on the place. As long as it has a CR and a bed. I forgot the name of the owner, but she was really nice she even offered to cook for us. And gave us extra foam and pillows for free.

I was really mesmerized with the place, the sun is at it's peak and the color of the sea was real delight to my eyes. The blue green color was just amazing. The white sand is just right however dried leaves and coconut litter all over the place. I don't know why but I liked it more compared to Panglao Beach, maybe because it has a more rugged appeal to me.

Do you see the sand bags in our cottages? They put it there because during high tide the water can reach the inside of the room. Cool eh! When we are about to leave at around 4am the water is real close to the cottage, like 3-5 feet away.

The place is partially developed because there are rows of cottages and nipa hut type accommodation. There are also stores along the areas and a lot of locals selling souvenir shirts. There are also resorts along the area.

I slept the entire afternoon with the searing heat and I couldn't enjoy it more to wake up with the sound of sea but it was the nearby cottage who woke me up with their videoke session.

There are boats offering their service to tour you around Pescador Island and to the Marine Sanctuary, but we did not try it because my colleagues are not up for it, and it would be real pricey if I shoulder the whole boat fare alone.

Woke up real early in the morning to catch our 12 in the afternoon plane ride back to Manila, we have already arranged with Kuya Ping to pick us 4am in the morning. Btw, if you need his contact number drop me a mail.

I rarely witnessed sunrise, that's why I am so psyched to see the horizons in the bus. We got back in the city at around 7am, just in time for a quick stopover at CNT lechon and Mactan (colleagues bought guitar).

I really had a great time at Moalboal but I really wished I could stay longer and checkout the marine life. But there's always next time, Moalboal actually exceeded my expectations. :)

Gab goes to school

From the moment he opens his eyes, I know he'll do great in whatever he does.

A lot of people says his not yet ready, for he just turns 3 last April and school starts in June making him 3 yrs and 2 months old. But I have my reasons for sending him to school, one of it, is that I work 8hrs a day and I honestly admit it that I do not have enough time and patience to teach him everything.

I had to take a leave of absence just to enroll him, because the school is closed on the weekend. I was so excited to be with him in the school, to asked him about his thoughts on the school and just to see him inside sitting in a school chair.

Mommy is always here

Finally, the big day, I have anticipated this special moment in my life and I couldn't much be happier to share it with everyone. It was just sad that I was not the one who prepped him up for school, because I have to attend a meeting in the morning. Good thing his class starts at 11am and end at 1pm. From Makati I could easily take the cab and meet him at his school in Paranaque.

I was so eager to leave the office to witness this eventful day in his life, though for sure, he wouldn't remember it when he grows up.

Then there he was, in his red shirt (no uniforms yet) and Ben 10 bag, ready to conquer the world. Ah, these are the moments. Seeing him sized up his classmates was momentous. He is a not shy kid at all but I can say he is cautious, and I know sending him early to school can develop his personality more.

At first he wouldn't let go of my hand but I talked him out and agreed to seat in one of the chairs. I stayed at the back till the end of class as he constantly looked, checking if I'm still waiting for him. I am overwhelmed to witness how he wants to join the singing and dancing but too shy to do so.

Moms are all over the place to give support to their child and I so envy them for they do not have to escape and rush from the office to attend to their child. But maybe that's the reason why it was so special for me to be here.

That is why I looked up to James Betia when it comes to cheap traveling. For P500 to even P300 per day all in expenses when traveling. Just WOW, right?! I know. People who knows me can definitely say I can never travel on a budget.
