Handmade Father's Day Card For Dog Lovers That Kids Can Help With

For dog lovers everywhere! My God-daughter Shelby asked me to helped her make a Father's Day Card that looked like their new dog Molly.

The Doodlecharms cartridge for my Cricut Expression has a dog feature and we gave it a try.

Molly is a Golden Retriever, so I searched through my paper supply for just the right tones of gold.

I discovered one sheet of paper called Honey Bear that was just perfect! I don't recall where I got it, but it was probably Michael's or Hobby Lobby. It is from a collection called Honey Cottage from Paper Adventures.

How To Make A Retirement Scrapbook For A Teacher

When my mother retired after 38 years of teaching elementary school, my siblings and I asked her how she wanted to celebrate. She gave us some gift suggestions, and she made it very clear she did not wish to have any kind of a party.

I knew that her friends would want some way to commemorate the occasion, so I decided to make secret scrapbook for her. I had never made a scrapbook before, but I had seen many that were made by friends and in stores.

My best resource was my friend Lynnette and watching her scrapbook over the years. Also, I was comfortable with paper crafts and cardmaking, so I thought this would be a fun project -- and it was. The hardest part was hoping no one would give away the secret!

You Are A Star: Another Handmade Graduation Card

This is a graduation card for my 5-year old nephew Joey, who is graduating from pre-school.

Obviously this card can be used for any type of graduation ceremony and for graduates of any age.

You can choose colors to match the school, the new college (for a high school grad), or maybe special colors of the graduation ceremony itself.

The base for this card, and all the decorations, were created using my Cricut Expressions.

You can also make the star without using a Cricut machine.

If you aren't comfortable cutting out the star, go ahead and just trace it on the front. You can still add the graduation cap and other decorations to get the same effect.

During this season of graduation ceremonies, I made a graduation card for my friend Clay.

Clay is graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design.

His card was inspired by this package of stickers by Jolee's Boutique from Hobby Lobby and the university's colors of black and maroon.

In keeping with Clay's work in design, I wanted to keep the card clean and simple.

Handmade Star Card - Great For Congratulating Superstars & Celebrating Holidays

This card can be used as individual cards or party invitations for a number of events:

Memorial Day

Birthdays
Sporting events
"You're a Star"
...You get the idea!

I cut this card on my Cricut Expressions using the Wild Card cartridge. It cuts everything you see: the red base card, blue liner (blackout feature), white and red blackout stars on the front, "celebrate" word, smaller stars, envelope and envelope liner.

I will also show how you can cut this card without a Cricut machine and how to embellish with other cut outs or stickers as well.

If you are lucky enough to have your very own room to do your scrapbooking and stamping, then you are way ahead of the game when it comes to organizing.

Hopefully, you keep most of your supplies in your craft room -- even if they aren't organized. My problem is that my office is both my scrapbooking, stamping, beading, reading and writing area, and you can only imagine how difficult it is to keep all of that organized!

Still it is possible. Here are some fun tips to organize your craft room so you can actually spend more time creating, rather than thinking, "Oh, man what a mess!"

How To Make A Fun Ballet Card For A Little Girl's Ballet Recital Or Birthday

I made this card for my God-daughter Shelby for her ballet recital (she's 8). It would also make a cute Birthday card for a tiny dancer in your life.

I started with a white 8.5x11 cardstock paper and just folded it in half.

The pink paper with a white floral design is from a DCWV Stack value pack, and I used it for part of the card as well as the custom made envelope.

Making Memories Tweezers: A Review Of My Favorite Craft Tweezers

I found my favorite pair of craft tweezers in the scrapbooking aisle at a local craft and hobby store.

They are the Making Memories Reverse Action Tweezers.

These are different from the tweezers I'm familiar with -- the tension is opposite.

With most tweezers, you squeeze to grasp something. But these tweezers start out in a pinched position and you squeeze to open them.

This is great for holding small things for any amount of time, because once you squeeze them to open and grasp your item, you can relax the grip and let the tweezers close and hold the item.

I'm glad I found them, because I would have never known about this difference!

Handmade Pink Flower Cards For Any Occasion!

These 3 cards were completely inspired by the pretty flower paper that I used for the envelopes.

The papers I used:

Flower paper = 3 sheets, 12x12 DCWV value paper pack (from JoAnne's)

All other paper = 8.5x11 cardstock from The Paper Company value packs (from Michael's)

Each card is 6x6, and I made the envelopes to fit.

For the embellishments:

The flowers were cut on my Cricut Expressions using the Walking in my Garden cartridge, daisy 2.5", with handcut yellow centers.

The word "celebrate" is from Wild Card cartridge.

The word "friend" is from Doodlecharms.
