What Up people, I'm a keep short on here. Sorry for the neglect for the year. What have I been doing that made me neglct you all, well it has been this talented kid named A$AP Rocky. I been working with him and A$AP Mob. Management isn't easy, however I am back, so enjoy your day and make everyday in life count.

This post was actually a reference or rather an idea done by me and Max B. Right after Puff recorded this song for Jim Jones "What You Sipping" I decided to give the homie Max a shot. Puff and I actually liked Max B, I wish I could have signed him. That's whole other story. However what I will say is the beat was originally for Puff for the Biggie Duets, actually was supposed to be a single. Then Cool and Dre,weeks after having the beat, their manager at time said she sold the beat to LA Reid. Fast forward it was a single for Christina Milian. Well this song is for the Max B fans and for my homie A$AP Yams! Max B aka Mr Prolific keep your head to the sky (Pause).

Boy nothing will ever replace these buildings. Although The World Trade Center was just two buildings I shared many moments there. Me and my boy got our "skypagers" there, and I even bought a diamond ring from a jewelry store in the plaza. The day of 9/11 I was supposed to go to John Meneilly office to get a commission check from a LES track I placed. I remember going there as a kid with my boy Manfredi, and man the view let me know the world can be mine, and there was more to life than Harlem in NY. The Twin Towers were a staple for NYC and a depending on a flight home was Peace Sign.
This short pays homage. RIP to those who were lost. Let's live for them, and remember it's about living because you never know when life may stop.

Well, as I was going through some my iTunes on one of my computers this starting playing. Another song by the lovely Keyshia Cole. I actually remember this session....all I can say is it started with beat cds, and a bottle of Patron. While waiting for Diddy I believe to get to session, Keyshia asked if I had any beats, I believe she wanted to start working on a mixtape. Keyshia work ethic is impeccable. That girl like to write and sing, her tenacity for creating tunes I think even surpass most rappers. Keyshia definitely did her thing, not to mention drank me under a table with that Patron. Props to sis cause I woke up, and she was done.
Although this is a rough I like it a lot especially being it's over a Gangstarr classic. I am not sure who did the beat, this was awhile ago, blame it on the Patron. In The words of Lord Finesse, this is "Strictly for the ladies".

As you all my know I was born and bred in Harlem New York. Harlem is birthplace of Teddy Riley, Rob Base, Kool Moe Dee, Camron, Big L (RIP), Mase, Loon, Jim Jones, Vado, Max B, Jae Millz, Darrell "Digga" Branch, Dame Dash, Hip Hop (Hip Hop Since 1978), Kareem "Biggs" Burke, DJ Brucie B, Ron G, and D-Ferg (RIP) Hud 6 (RIP). As you can see a lot of talent surge in this place, and now there are new faces. Straight out of my hood there is a movement and team popping called ASAP. ASAP Rocky is catching huge notoriety and my little homie Ferg is doing his thing as well. I know it's a second before they have a deal. I love what they stand for and represent. Bottom-line their creativity and unique energy bring a breath of fresh air. Funny they even are pushing for a cause I totally stand behind as well, it's to diminish the word "SWAG". lol
Remember folks, I told you about this early!

Most genius musicians were not the literate to music notes. However in 2011, thanks to the folks at Kawai, there is an app that make playing notes easy. The Gakufu Camera is only available in the Japanese App Store. Basically this app scans the music notes, then play the melody of the notes scanned.
I hope this app come to America and SOON.

If I was a printer company this would be my advertisement. If a printer could print clear visuals like this I think everyone would want to buy it.

Well as you know I worked with a wide range of talent. One cool dude I got to kick it with was my man Nas. Nas is a talented, funny, cool individual. Actually his brother Jungle, to me is one of the funniest dudes I ever met. Don't believe me check the N.O.R.E. skits. I must credit Jungle though, he was a visionary with A&R talent as well. This song was done in 2005 while I was recording "Press Play". This beat was one out of many sitting around. I felt this beat was Hip-Hop and to me I pictured Nas flowing to this beat, it was NYC, Queens, and most of all had substance. Well as we know the track never made the album, however the countless studio sessions with Nas and Keyshia were priceless. They were never in the studio at the sametime. Yummy Bingham originally wrote and referenced the hook. I wish this song made it to Press Play, but it never did, I thought the world could use some blessings from Godson. DOWNLOAD HERE

I learned in life it is good to surround yourself with motivational, inspirational and positive peers. As the saying goes "Eagles only Fly with Eagles", so on that note I tend to fly high. My friend Kobie Brown is working on a documentary about the importance of fatherhood and the impact it has especially in urban society. In the same breath he interview another close friend of mine Sha Money XL, who by the way is Senior VP of A&R at Def Jam. Please be sure to peep the documentary, support filmmakers, and most of all give back to family in addition to the world. I always say, we should always serve with a purpose in life. 2011 big things being done by my peeps!

Here is one of my all time favorite joints. This track right here captured the aura of Harlem. I remember while in Puff's Room at Daddy's House Tony Dofat was going through songs. This song accidently played and he almost skipped over it. The song at the time just had Dep verse on it, and a couple bars from Black Rob. I was like hold up, stop the press! Puff walked in and was like what's this playing. Then he kept talking about how hot G-Dep is lyrically. What people may not know but Puff is into LYRICS. Puff can dissect and analyze lyrics with accuracy of a sharp shooter. Well I was like man this joint is Harlem, this is 8th Avenue, Lenox, 145th, 155th, 116th, etc. It was a job to get this finished, Black Rob at Star island accompanied by bottle of Hennessy Privilege, Puff creating synergy of a grand wizard, DJ Drop and Tony Dofat overseeing the sounds. I remember all of us talking about days of Harlem, dudes driving down 8th avenue with a leg out the window, honey's on 125th, games at King Dome. I pushed hard to get this song done. It got finished, thanks Fafu and Bink. The end result the sample got rejected. This song was one of early songs we recorded when doing Press Play album. I sent to Flex, and NYC got to hear the magic. Well on this summer day crank this joint.

Here he is talking about how we all need to think at the Nielsen's 360 Conference. regardless of your position, you should be thinking innovation, and in doing so collecting data. I truly believe the more you become a sponge for knowledge the more creativity is born. Kelley's outlook speak on observing the world continuously, become a anthropologist and that in life it's about the verbs, not the nouns. Remember folks it's about the actions that define a person and the height of success is driven by making things happen, not by watching.

About 15 years ago I had the opportunity to peek into the garage in California where Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started Apple Computer. Steve Jobs was with me at the time, giving me a personal tour of the place. He showed me where his desk sat in the cramped space; where Woz’s workbench was; where they stacked the boxes of finished personal computers in the corner.

At the time Jobs was still in exile from Apple. But in the years ahead Jobs would not only return to Apple and re-invent the place, but ride the success of Pixar’s Toy Story to heights that even he never imagined.

We’d all like to be visionaries. But how do we achieve that singular kind of vision? How do we develop that level of passion? How do we generate enough personal magnetism to light up not only an auditorium full of fans but hundreds of retail stores around the world?

What are the elements that distinguish visionaries? Here are a few:

1. Visionaries are awake to the ideas around us. Visionaries don’t invent things that have never existed before; they see what exists right before our noses—the things that the rest of us are missing. The iPod didn’t come down on a lightning bolt, for instance. It was the clever synthesis of technologies that already existed. The same could be said of the iPad. The parts were all there. In fact, the idea of the hand-held computer had been tried before—by Apple. Richard Branson created his award-winning airline not by reinventing the airplane. He simply took the standard-issue airplane business model and added the pizzazz of the music business. Many of the greatest products come to life from similar counterintuitive combinations. Suitcases. Wheels. Why did it take 2000 years for humanity to realize you could put the two together into the “rollaboard” and save yourself a lot of work? Stay awake to the great ideas that are right in front of us.

2. Intuition: By definition, visionaries have to be able to look into the future. But how do they do that? How did Jobs decide to produce an iPad (rather, say, than a new line of laptops). Or Branson, an airline, rather than a new string of recording studios. The answer is that they collect as much information as they can, and absorb as much as they are able to. Then they set their rational minds aside, and when it comes to the moment of the big decision, let their gut tell them what to do.

3. Courage: While most of us say we want to want to be successful visionaries, very few of us, I would bet, would be willing to risk our lives and whatever fortunes we have to get there. But that’s what makes visionaries different. Regardless of the field—science, business, exploration, political leadership—the story of the visionary will always include points of crisis where they’ve had to wager their welfare, and that of their families, colleagues and friends—to make their dreams come true. Despite the glamour and glitz, being a visionary can be a harrowing existence.

4. Luck: You can’t get around the fact that in addition to their formidable skills, visionaries are just plain lucky. Steve Jobs wouldn’t be what he is today if he hadn’t bumped into Steve Wozniak, who designed and built the first Apple computers. Branson wouldn’t have been able to sell Virgin Music for a billion dollars if, years earlier, he hadn’t bumped into Simon Draper, who supplied the ear for music that Branson lacked. The list goes on and on. Luck is not random. Scientists they have found that “lucky” people bring an attitude to life that increases their odds.
What comes naturally to visionaries may take some work from the rest of us. And we can do that. We can learn more about intuition—how to use it properly. We can remember to open our eyes to life—to find new ways to look at the familiar. We can study emotional intelligence, and learn lessons that will make us visionary leaders. In the end, “visionary thinking” is not limited to the name-brand visionaries. We all have it. We just need to summon it up, and use it every day.
