The creator (@joolieannie) who identifies as a transgender woman started going viral for her satirical take on how people should act at work or in public.

Jools’s video titled: “How to be demure and modest and respectful at the workplace,” now has nearly 32 million views.

“I don’t come to work with a green-cut crease. I don’t look like a clown when I go to work. I don’t do too much. I’m very mindful while I’m at work,” she told viewers in the clip.

In a video shared on Wednesday, Jools gave her fans an update: “One day, I was playing cashier and making videos on my break, and now I’m flying across countries to host events, and I’m gonna be able to finance the rest of my transition.”

“I feel so overwhelmed,” she said in another TikTok video posted on Saturday. “Like I feel so grateful, don’t get me wrong. But everything’s happening so fast. Like I just landed in LA… I have so much to do as soon I got here.” Then, she wiped the tears from the corner of her eye and said, laughing, “But, I’m living my fucking dream bitch!”

The update video has received over 2.3 million views, and there was a lot of love and support for Jool in the comment section.

One person said: “See how she encourages other towards success? Very mindful, very demure, very community-minded.”

“Hope your transition goes smoothly and very demure,” another person wrote.

The photograph, which was posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, quickly spread across the internet and began trending under the hashtag #SofaLoren, a reference to the iconic Italian actress Sophia Loren and made-up claims that the Republican senator had sex with a couch.

The Daily Beast reported that a spokesperson for the Republican vice presidential pick did not deny the photo’s authenticity when approached by the news outlet, and did not offer any further comment.

The source who surfaced the alleged photo, Travis Whitfill, claims the picture was taken by a fellow Yale classmate in 2012, when Vance was attending law school at the university. He says the picture was sent to him by another friend. Whitfill then sent it to podcast host Matt Bernstein, who then shared it to X.

“It’s from a group chat of Vance’s fellow classmates and is from a friend of a friend,” he told the Daily Beast. “I believe it was grabbed from Facebook and was taken at a Halloween party.”

Whitfill shared screenshots of the text conversation in which he first received the photo.

“I didn’t know him,” Whitfill wrote, “from all the sources I’ve heard, JD was actually a good guy in law school. Not sure what happened after though…”

“Doing my part for democracy ,” he added in another post.

Many commenters online were quick to point out Vance’s anti-LGBTQ legislative history. The Ohio senator introduced the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” which aims to criminalize medical institutions that provide gender-affirming care to minors.

He has also supported measures to limit classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity, and labeled critics of so-called “don’t say gay” legislation “groomers.”

After spending seven-and-a-half years working to create a memorial honoring the 49 people killed in the Pulse Nightclub shooting on June 12, 2016, the onePulse Foundation never broke ground on the project.

“To see this money essentially wasted and these promises not fulfilled – it’s a real tragedy,” said Laurie Styron, CEO of CharityWatch, a charity watchdog organization based in Chicago.

Styron told News 6 it is unlikely that donors who wrote a $20 or $100 check will see any refunds as a result of the organization dissolving.

“When it comes to small individual donations – generally speaking, people are out of luck,” she said. “There are a lot of rules and laws in place that dictate that charities have pretty narrow choices when it comes to how to distribute restricted funds or unrestricted funds, even when they’re a nonprofit organization.”

A restricted fund is a donation made for a specific program or budget item, like the memorial project. An unrestricted fund is a donation made to the organization with no note detailing a specific program.

“A lot of times that money is long gone,” Styron said. “It’s been spent on other things, whether it’s other programs or on overhead. In most cases, charities have pretty wide latitude to spend the contributions they receive as long as it’s for some charitable purpose, or at least related to the mission.”

After examining onePulse’s tax returns and audits, Styron concluded that most of the organization’s assets were in land, buildings, and equipment – not cash.

She said when a nonprofit organization dissolves, it needs to keep spending the cash that it has on paying staff, paying for accounting and legal services, until everything is settled, and they officially shut their doors for good. A process that could take months.

OnePulse had already returned the property it acquired from Orange County to use for its museum project, and the property that houses the nightclub was owned by ousted foundation founder and nightclub owner Barbara Poma.

Poma sold it to the City of Orlando in October for $2 million.

“It’s unlikely that there would be a lot of money left over to refund those smaller donations to the general public, once all of the fees related to winding down the organization are incurred,” she said. “I’ve been doing watchdog work for about 20 years now, and unfortunately, this is not a rare occurrence.”

“I would really encourage the people operating the organization today, the ones that are responsible for, for dissolving it, to be as transparent as they possibly can, with who’s going to get the assets with their intentions, if they will be refunding many donations,” Styron said.

The foundation’s spokesman told News 6: “Last week the foundation hired legal counsel who is reviewing the appropriate steps needed to carry out the board’s decision and comply with applicable Florida Statutes. The answers to your questions will be part of that process and will be shared at the appropriate time.”

The landmark ruling on Thursday was prompted by a motion from the Ministry of Justice, even though no such organization exists as a legal entity. The justice ministry claimed the LGBTQ community risked “inciting social and religious discord”, in violation of Russia’s Law on Countering Extremism, according to a statement from the UN condemning the decision.

Thursday’s ruling states: “The claims are to be satisfied: to recognize the international LGBT movement as an extremist organization and to prohibit its activities in Russia,” according to state news agency RIA Novosti.

The four-hour hearing was held behind closed doors with only the Justice Ministry present for the proceedings and materials classified.

The decision is expected to further erode the rights of Russia’s LGBTQ community, who have faced an intensifying crackdown in recent years under President Vladimir Putin. Putin is seeking to shore up his image as defender of traditional moral values against the liberal West.

In the statement Thursday, the UN said it “deplores” the ruling and warned that it could leave “members, employees and people engaging with such organizations” at risk of criminal charges and imprisonment.

Under Russian law, an organization designated as extremist faces immediate dissolution, and its leaders face charges of up to 10 years in prison, according to the UN Human Rights Chief.

“This decision exposes human rights defenders and anyone standing up for the human rights of LGBT people to being labelled as ’extremist’ – a term that has serious social and criminal ramifications in Russia,” the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said.

In July this year, Russia passed a law banning doctors from conducting gender reassignment surgeries, except in cases related to treating congenital physiological anomalies, in children.

In December 2022, Putin signed into law a bill that expanded a ban on so-called LGBTQ “propaganda” in Russia, making it illegal for anyone to promote same-sex relationships or suggest that non-heterosexual orientations are “normal.”

The court, divided 6-3, with three conservatives dissenting, rejected an emergency request from Florida officials after lower courts blocked the law statewide. The majority did not explain its reasoning. The three justices who would have granted the state’s request were Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch.

The brief unsigned order means that the state cannot apply the law anywhere in the state while a Florida restaurant’s challenge to the law continues.

The measure was passed this year by the Florida Legislature and signed shortly after by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in May. Officially dubbed the Protection of Children Act, the law makes it a crime to admit a child to an “adult live performance” that the state deems sexually explicit.

Hamburger Mary’s, an Orlando bar and restaurant that features drag waitresses and family-friendly drag performances, comedy sketches and dancing, filed a lawsuit in response to the law.

Hamburger Mary’s argued the law was written so broadly as to have a “chilling effect” on First Amendment rights to free speech as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

“The district court prevented the state from enforcing the law not just against Hamburger Mary’s but also statewide. The state argued that the judge did not have authority to do so,” reports NBC News. “In its application to the Supreme Court, the state asked the justices to narrow the injunction so it applied only to the restaurant.”

Justice Brett Kavanaugh, another conservative, wrote a brief opinion explaining why he voted against the state, saying the narrow issue the state was raising was not one the court would normally hear. Fellow conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined most of Kavanaugh’s opinion.

“This case is therefore an imperfect vehicle for considering the general question of whether a district court may enjoin a government from enforcing a law against non-parties to the litigation,” he wrote.

The 51-year-old comedian is preparing for the release of his upcoming special, which includes his experience navigating his 23-year-old son Kai’s gender identity.

“I talk about the transition,” he said of his special during a recent appearance on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club.”

He stumbled over pronouns as he clarified that he wasn’t referring to Kai’s transition, but of “my transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. And I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need to have that message.”

Wayans shared his plan to satirize his experience of coming to terms with his son’s gender identity in a comedy special temporarily named “Rainbow Child.”

He explained that coming to terms with the transition was “a very painful situation for me. But man, it’s one of the best, funniest hours (of comedy) I probably could ever imagine.”

He was even candid about “still working on my pronouns” when it comes to Kai. “They know I love them, they see me try, and they’re like, ‘I’m happy.’”

Wayans said that he wants his kids to be “free.”

“I want them to be free in spirit, free in thought, free to be themselves,” he continued. “The more you know yourself, the more you can govern yourself. The more you live your truth, the happier your existence.”

“If they can’t get that in the household with their father and their mother, how the f— do I send them out into the world with that kind of confidence?” he added. “I’m just so proud of them for being them.”

Sherman High School senior Max Hightower landed the lead role in “Oklahoma!” last month, his father, Phillip Hightower, told local CBS affiliate KXII.

But the 17-year-old’s excitement didn’t last long.

The principal called to inform him about the new policy they implemented.

“Actors and actresses could only play a role that was the same gender they were assigned at birth,” Hightower told KXII, detailing his conversation with the principal.

Max Hightower identifies as a transgender male, meaning that he could no longer be cast as the male lead.

“I was devastated,” Hightower said.

Max Hightower had been part of the school theater throughout high school, and had previously portrayed female roles.

“But they allowed Max to dress up as a male,” his father said.

“All kinds of actors have played all kinds of parts,” he added. “I mean, I grew up watching Mrs. Doubtfire.”

“I expected him to be crying, but no, Max is a fighter,” Hightower added.

The Sherman Independent School District (SISD) said in a statement that there is no blanket policy on how students should be assigned to their roles.

“As it relates to this particular production, the sex of the role as identified in the script will be used when casting. Because the nature and subject matter of productions vary, the District is not inclined to apply this criteria to all future productions,” it said.

It also said a broader review of the production was now ongoing.

“It was brought to the District’s attention that the current production contained mature adult themes, profane language, and sexual content,” the statement said.

“Unfortunately, all aspects of the production need to be reviewed, including content, stage production/props, and casting to ensure that the production is appropriate for the high school stage.”

Despite the drama over the high musical, Hightower said he’s been stunned by the “outpouring of love and support” for Max.

“I’m not going to quit advocating for my son — ever. Max has shown me what real strength is,” Hightower said.

The Warner Bros film, which comes from Greta Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the titular doll and Ken, grossed over $1 billion at the global box office.

Barbie has now become the studio’s fastest movie to reach that record (17 days), beating previous holder Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which did it in 19 days back in 2011.

This past weekend, the film beat out Meg 2: The Trench and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem to remain atop the box office. It grossed $53 million — bringing its domestic total to $459 million to date.

Conservatives and Far Right commentators have been triggered by Barbie’s so-called “woke” message to kids, with one Fox News guest calling it the “most insidious packaging of feminist cliches and trans grooming that you have ever seen.”

The film also stars trans actor Hari Nef as one of the brilliant and beautiful Barbies.
