Larsen’s reasoning is “because he doesn’t want this work to be just another piece of art in a collector’s private hoard, or stashed away until it can make the owner a healthy profit.”

The name “Apex” was adopted because the community was the highest point on the Chatham Railroad between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida. Also, in July 2009, CNN/Money magazine ranked Apex 44th on its list of the nation’s top places to live. Read more about this great little town here!

Gamesvillers are the most interesting people — that’s why we shine the GV Member Spotlight on them! This time, we’re talking with Leopardlady12id from Lewiston, ID.

What inspired your member name?
My name was inspired by my love for anything leopard print. You name it, I have it in leopard print! It makes me happy!

How long have you been a hairdresser?
I’ve been a hairdresser for about 11 years now. I love going to work every day and making people happy and feeling good about themselves. I’m self-employed and I do believe I make a pretty good boss!

Is it true that the salon is a rumor and gossip smorgasbord?
It’s a great place to hear to things, I won’t deny that! With the amount of clients that come in and out every day, there are always new tidbits of information to share.

You mention poker is one of your favorite hobbies.
I do love to play Texas Hold ‘Em! I usually play tournament style, which is a bit different than a cash game because you only get a set amount of chips. There’re no re-buys so you have to be really careful with them.

Would you consider yourself a great bluffer then?
I can be. I will usually act weak when I have a very strong hand and that’ll get someone believing that you’re trying to bluff. But then you win the pot!

How’d you react when you found out you had won in Free Bingo?
I just happened to look up and saw the green light! At first I was stunned! Then I was trying to click on it without messing up nails. Hah! I came into the game in the middle so I couldn’t pick a lucky number so, sadly, no was able to win $25.00 on the bonus.

…and how did you find yourself at Gamesville?
Googling free games! It was several years ago and it’s the only game site I use. I love it here and the people really do win! My favorite games are all the bingo games and I just love Hotstreak Solitaire. All in all, Gamesville is the best!

Harvey York County is often referred to as Harvey Station which was the name for the railway station that was built at when the European and North American Railway (Western Extension) was constructed in 1869 to connect Saint John with Vanceboro, Maine. I’d also like to draw everyone’s attention to the “Meet Gamesville” section on the right-hand side of the Blog. There, you’ll find the actual Gamesville employees who you might meet in-game.

Why did we do this? Out of some weird, narcissistic need to have our names and faces up in lights? No. Well, maybe a little. But mostly it’s to let you know who to listen to in chat.

See, we’ve received a number of emails and customer service questions that say something like this:

Dear Gamesville – Someone in chat said they were an employee of Gamesville and warned me, in front of everyone, that I was in danger of being banned. I haven’t done anything wrong. Please help. I am confused.

First, please know that warnings about chat behavior are a private matter, between us and the people we deem are violating our terms of service; no Gamesville employee would ever publicly call someone out in such fashion.

Second, be advised there have been a couple of folks scurrying through some game rooms, pretending to be authorized representatives of Gamesville.com and generally stirring up trouble.

We’re addressing this situation. But, in all honesty, this isn’t the first time this has happened here, nor will it be the last, nor is this behavior unique to Gamesville.

Any chat room or community forum eventually attracts a few people who — for reasons they feel are legitimate, or for their own nefarious reasons — try to control the conversation by inferring or fibbing about their relationship with the owners of the forum.

So, now you know. If someone says they’re an employee of Gamesville, or has been deputized in some way by Gamesville, and they don’t appear in that Gamesville Team list? Please do three things:

1. Don’t antagonize them or call their bluff, because that will only upset the room.
2. Add them to your “Block” list.
3. Report the incident right away to customer service through the in-game “Report Abuse” tool so we can investigate and take care of it.

What inspired his Gamesville member name? And what’s crawling about his fridge right now?

Gamesville: What inspired your member name?
Kodai45: A japanese anime TV show known as “Space Battleship Yamato”. The lead character’s name was Susumu Kodai.

Editor’s note: “Space Battleship Yamato” is also known to North American and Australian television audiences as “Star Blazers”. The Yamato is the name of the main space craft. Useless fact: In Brazil, the show is known as “Patrulha Estelar”, or “Star Patrol”.

What did you like so much about Yamato?
I was drawn by the music first, before I started noticing the characters and the story line. Then it all just swept me away. It’s the first and only time an anime show has captivated me so much. I’m still a huge fan of the series.

When you’re not watching Space Battleship Yamato, or playing Gamesville games, what do you do?
I’m a service technician for United Termite & Pest Control, LLC, a family-owned company. I treat homes and buildings for termites.

How long have you been in that business?
When I first started, I thought it would be temporary. Now, almost 33 years later, I still consider it only temporary.

What do you like best about it?
It’s outdoors for the most part, and only on very rare occasions am I at the same place two days in a row.

And least?
Once in a while, I’ll run upon a customer who, no matter how far you bend over backwards to please them, you can’t.

If we looked in your fridge right now, what would we find?
Various types of food and Diet Mountain Dew And, unfortunately, some Coca-Cola. My wife loves the stuff, but I consider Coke a bigger hazard than the chemicals I work with. Ha ha! Only kidding dear!!

How did you meet your wife?
We met online, believe it or not! I’ve always told her that she was that one tiny grain of sand on the world’s biggest beach that I just happened to find. She was, and still is, and always will be my one true love.

You seem like the romantic type. Do you have a favorite poem?
I really don’t have a favorite poem, but I can make one up for you…

Oh the joy! Oh the thrill!
My wife’s too old to be on the pill.
Oh the joy! Hide all the bills!
We both have fun — playing at Gamesville!

Speaking of which, what games do you play at Gamesville?
Jeez Louise y’all — pardon my southern drawl there — but y’all have so many that I like to play. CatchUp CoverAll is one (which I’ve yet to cover all but I’m working on it). And Super Chef and Three-Eyed Bingo, which I casually refer to as Mutant Bunny Bingo — but I love it so much!
