One of the most helpful articles in explaining what is meant by “Missional Churches” is by Tim Keller. The reason this article is so helpful is because 1) it gives a brief history of where the church has been in the west and where the church is going in the west. 2) The article is also very practical and helpful in teaching us how to embrace and implement missional characteristics in our lives and in our church.

We have been talking this last year about being missional. In fact, the vision statement for 2011 is for the Gathering Community Church to have fully participating members, living gospel (missional) lifestyles, resulting in a movement in the city of Portland.

So here is another helpful resource, a simple and short-video, that explains what we mean, as a church, to be missional:
