That’s because this pedal allows you use overdrive an octave down, or use a complete mixture of the two ranges at once. The J-2 from Two Rock Amps was created for their 10th anniversary. This amp, which is based on their Jet Signature Platform, features an all new design that brings in the dynamics and the feel of their 50 and 100 watt amps. This includes a new reverb circuit, more response, separate master controls, and more. The J-2 is available in two different packages.

The first features a 40 watt head powered by two 6L6 tubes. It includes a 1-12 extension cab, footswitch, and cables, plus it comes with a special 10th anniversary t-shirt, hat, and logos. The second package is a 40 watt amp that uses a 1-12 combo. It also includes the special 10th anniversary items and cables.

The J-2 boutique amp features push pull boosts for the mid, bass, and treble and push pull switches for lead, clean, and for the gain knob when in bypass mode. The lead, clean, and gain are all footswitchable. It uses the post OD tone stack circuit, has three speaker outputs (4, 8, and 16 OHM), and is available in either 40 watts (6L6 tubes) or 30 watts (6V6 tubes). Budda has a number of different products in their Superdrive Series II collection. The major difference in these amps seems to come down to wattage. The Budda Amps Superdrive 18 Series II is a sweet 18 watter. It just about enough power for most small to midsize rooms. It’s also very lightweight and easy to travel with, making it great for taking it on the road.

The Superdrive 18 Series II is a class AB amp that is completely hand-wired. It has two channels (rhythm and high gain) and the amps are known for being amazingly articulate. The amp uses two EL84 tubes, a 5u4 rectifier, and 12AX7 tubes for the preamp. The amp has controls for mid, bass, treble, rhythm, and master volume. It also features a pull modern mid function and a pull brite function for rhythm channel volume. The Superdrive 18 Series II also features a custom-wound transformer that has a 4, 8, or 16 ohm switch. This amp is available as a head for $1595 new or as a 1x12 combo for $1895.

The Mini II is one of Bad Cat Amps’ most popular products. This tiny little amp may only put out five watts of power, but don’t let that fool you this bad boy really roars. It’s the perfect amp for anyone who needs a low-volume amp in their studio for recording. It’s not going to do very well in large venues, of course, but for home play and recording, the Bad Cat Mini II is perfect. It’s a Class A amp that is point to point wired and all tube powered.

The Mini II uses two 12AX7 pre-amp tubes and a single EL-84 tube for power. This is a great practice amp for folks in the city with limited space as it sounds great at a low volume. The amp features volume, bass, treble, and a master control, plus you can select between four, eight, and sixteen Ohm. The amp weighs about 30 pounds.

Emma Effects is a pedal company based out of Denmark. They hand build all of their pedals, and some of these devices look like nothing you’ve ever seen before! They have recently named Godlyke Distributing as their North American distributor, and the company has plans to release many different Emma devices.

Several Emma Effects pedals have been discontinued and are only available in very limited quantities. One of these is the Discumbobulator Envelope Filter. This pedal is an amazing envelope filter that provides strong chords and keeps all of the tone in the original signal. It’s sure to put some swing back in your sound…if you can find one.

The Onomatopoeia Overdrive Pedal is a powerful booster that can up your volume without coloring your sound too much. However, the gain dial can be used to distort your signal if you like, allowing this pedal to function somewhat like a tube amp. It also has a unique saturation control that allows the pedal to mimic the sounds of an amp with a single power tube.

One of Emma Effects’ newer pedals is the Pisdiyauwot Metal Distortion pedal. This pedal is great for anyone who plays heavy metal. It distorts in ways that no other pedals can do, and it’s incredible. There’s no other pedal like it out there.

Finally, the Stinkbug Overdrive pedal is Emma Effects’ take on an amazing classic overdrive. Your mids will sound great, while the highs and lows will be perfect. The Stinkbug sounds very warm, and even when your midrange is turned up, it won’t have any nasal sound to it.

Savage Amps has been producing high quality vacuum tube and solid-state amps since 1990. Based in the Minneapolis, Minnesota, area, the company offers amps designs for people seeking a vintage or boutique tone. Some of the big names currently using Savage Amps are Pearl Jam, Sheryl Crow, R.E.M., Foo Fighters, and Beck, to name a few.

Savage currently offers six different amps. The Macht 12x and Macht 6, technically two different devices, offer players amazing tone and volume. These class A amps are all hand-wired and feature 2 input preamp, one or two 6V6 tubes (Macht 6 features one), and more.

The Rohr 15 amp features everything that the larger Savage amps do but it a little smaller and more compact. It’s a class A amp that is great for both studio play and using for gigs. It is a 15 watt amp that features two channels and is powered by two EL-84/6BQ5 tubes.

The Glas 30 amp serves up some powerful & clear low-end and while still featuring all the brilliance that a class A amp offers. It’s a 30 watt amp that features two channels and four special Savage inputs.

Fargen Super Collider Guitar Amplifier

Fargen’s Super Collider boutique amp is one of their newest dual channel amps that combines incredibly rich and clean tones with some of the fattest lead tones around. The amp features a very innovative design that makes use of some of the best from Fargen’s other amps while bringing in several new concepts and ideas. This is one 6L6 tube amp that is far from standard.

The Super Collider was created after Benjamin Fargen built a custom SCO amplifier for Cliff Culteri. He wanted the best 2 x 6L6 lead amp possible, and he absolutely loved Fargen’s product. However, Culteri’s amp was a single channel, so Fargen desided to create a dual channel version that also featured a clean channel. Thus, the Super Collider was born.

Every Super Collider boutique amp is hand built by Benjamin Fargen in his own workshop, and he extensively tests each one before it is sold. Only top quality parts are used in the construction of these amps, and Fargen uses only the best vacuum tubes. Each Super Collider features a custom AB footswitch, 40 watts worth of power, and stainless steel hardware. The amps use 5 12AX7 and 1 12AT7 tubes, and the reverb circuit is all-tube. Channel 1 features treble, mid, bass, and volume control, while channel 2 includes master, treble, mid, bass, and drive.

Ibanez is of course known for creating some of the most classic tube screamer pedals, and the Ibanez TS808HW Hand Wired Tube Screamer is yet another. The TS808HW is similar to Ibanez’s original tube screamer, but it’s all point to point hand wired on two turret boards. It’s a perfect recreation of the TS808 boutique pedal, so if you missed out on that classic, here's a perfect way to capture that sound. However, the TS808HW is being produced in limited quantities, however, so don’t waste time—if you want one, snatch it up now!

While the TS808HW looks like a HiWatt pedal on the inside, it sounds like nothing but a tube screamer. It has a very rich, warm tone to it that is complimented with some real harmonics. The pedal is very touch sensitive, too. Inside the screamer is all Mogami cable, top of the line cable that creates the easiest and quickest electron path possible. There’s no tube screamer that’s as incredible as the Ibanez TS808 HW Hand Wired Tube Screamer.
