So, I figured I would update it here. If anything I want people to understand epilepsy and learn from my experiences. This also keeps me from having to explain it to everyone – although I don’t mind at all sharing. I feel like I need to be an ambassador to the epilepsy community – as many have other debilitations that keep them from articulating their problems.

I learned yesterday that I won’t be able to go back to work for at least two more months. I need to have an assessment at Emory Epilepsy clinic and a follow up doctor appointments – which will take two months to complete. My doctor won’t clear me until that is done. I was so disappointed when I heard this news – but I’m over it now. I just need to accept it and hope I have a job when I become fully able to work.

As far as seizures I’ve improved a lot. I don’t know when my last seizure was but it must have been a couple of weeks ago. I increased the amount of pills that I take (again) and this seems to have stopped the seizures. But – wow – there are some side affects! I’m experiencing mental “fog”, fatigue, sleepiness, quick temper and some weight gain. Also, when I take my meds, I get high. It is kind of weird, and now I sometimes ride my bike on the sidewalk (blasphemy) as I seem to be too shaky to ride in traffic on the road. Finally, I still have problems remembering and recalling, but this seems to have improved.

My brain has improved but I seem to be in a mental fog during the day. Sometimes I feel like it is improving, but at other times I miss words and forget my thoughts. In the morning it seems to be worse – but it could be that I’m more frustrated about it and then I get used to it throughout the day. I like how the brain works: It truly is an amazing organ. I can – at most times – finish articulating my thoughts without recalling the word(s) I want to use. I use “that”, “it” or “Thingamajig” instead of a name of an item. I use “you”, “guys”, “they”, “them” and “y’all” instead of using peoples’ names. Or I describe what an item does instead of calling it out by name (“look at your reflection” – instead of “look into the mirror”). The brain helps compensate for the loss of words - but there are times when I have to stop talking and search for the words.

The worst part is the fatigue and sleepiness that I am experiencing. I sometimes take two or three naps a day. They are usually after lunch and sometimes only last 5 minutes – some are several hours. One time - I had five naps in a day. I’ve tried “Five Hour Energy Drink” but that doesn’t even stop me from feeling drowsy. I hope this goes away. I had some blood drawn this morning to see how the meds are affecting my liver and such. Also, this might help me understand how the sleepiness can be mitigated.

For now, the seizures have stopped and I hope forever. In the recent past, I have gone several months without seizures, so I have my fingers crossed. I’m still riding my bike and I can’t wait to get back in my jeep. Time will tell….

Off for a nap...
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

The head of NASA, Charles Bolden, said that one of his primary objectives - given to him by Obama - is to "reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math and engineering." Why in the hell would this be a NASA imperative? Maybe through my words you can understand how kid's with epilepsy or other people with brain damage feel, discover and understand issues. Again, I'm cool with my life. I just hope I can go back to work and be a productive part of society.... Also, my hats off to all the stay at home Moms and Dads (who are probably the most productive part of this society) who take care of kids during the day. I love my kids but - wow - this is work - AND I'm not doing anything but helping my wife!

First, I'm fortunate to have friends and family who care about me and help me when needed. So thanks to all. Secondly, I'm lucky as my kids like riding bikes with me to the store, restaurants and places that I would have normally driven. It will always be a good memory for me. Even my five year old goes the distance with me. Finally, My wife takes great care of me and drives when I need to take a car....although I typically try to resist and will ride my bike 30 miles if need to... (Damn pride gets in the way)

I had seizure this morning and a couple - a couple of days ago. So, I'm not out of the woods yet...but I feel my mind is coming back. I haven't had the tonic/clonic (grand mal) seizures in a while. These really scramble the ole noggin. However, there are two things that have happened that make me feel optimistic for the near future. First, I was able to calculate how many minutes (16 mins.) between two times on the clock without hesitation and without looking at a clock. I can't do it consistently but this helps me build my confidence. It was something that was nearly impossible a few weeks ago.

Another example: I introduced two friends to each other the other day in an impromptu get together...Again, remembering names is difficult. I didn't have confidence in my name recall (after I realized what I had just done) so I verified one of my friend's name with him: A bit embarrassing but what the hell. I am now remembering names a lot easier.

Is my mind back? Unfortunately 'No'. I have too many other times where my grey matter seems discombobulated. As an example, I am rebuilding a book case for a friend of mine. I took measurements. I verified the measurements and then re-verified measurements. I wrote the measurements down and then used these measurements to mark the boards that needed to be cut. I then cut the shelves the wrong size because the measurements were wrong! I didn't miss it by 1/32" or 1/16" - which I could tolerate. I missed it by over an inch and a half...AAAUUUGGHHHH Frustrating (and a waste of good boards). I also did this exact same thing on my last project last week. I'm glad I have projects like this because it helps keep me occupied and it is helping me understand where my deficiencies lie....

As another example. I apparently talked to a doctor this past week (or the week before) who told me to increase the dosage of one of the seizure medicines. I promptly forgot. Fortunately my wife was part of the conversation with the doctor. I have no recall of this conversation. Yesterday, she told me I was suppose to have upped the dosage. So as of today, I have gone on the appropriate dosage. Maybe now my seizures will stop - who knows?

If you see me or talk to me - I appear like my normal self (which has never been normal in some peoples' minds). I think I act normal and talk normal. It is amazing how the mind compensates for deficiencies. And, except for these memory lapses and problems - I am normal. I think it is difficult for people to grasp what is going through my mind. But treat me normal - not like a leper. And - remember the kids and others that have cerebral problems. They may look normal or not: They just need a little understanding and support. ( I don't, but they do ;-) Also, make sure your kids wear their sporting helmets on their bikes, scooters etc.... Drain Bamage is a terrible thing!
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever.

Wow. Talk about change.Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation’s most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America’s first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don’t see it as self imposed. It’s all George Bush’s fault.

George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in Congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama’s promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama’s promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

He broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks. He broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama’s promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama’s promise to make peace with direct, no pre-condition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama’s promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama’s promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama’s promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama’s promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama’s promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes, it’s all George Bush’s fault. President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending, failed Bush administration.

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, all of President Obama’s problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel, North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn’t have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks. There would be no earmarks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana). If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, we’d have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama’s fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It’s all George Bush’s fault.Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president’s attorney general, to hold terrorists’ trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush.Need more proof? You might recall that when Scott Brown won last month’s election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing “the Ted Kennedy seat,” President Obama said that Brown’s victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years, and they wanted change.

Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts last month was George Bush’s fault. Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats.

It is all George Bush’s fault. Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time for hope and change ever arrive? Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something — anything?

Chuck Green, veteran Colorado journalist and former editor-in-chief of The Denver Post, syndicates a statewide column and is at chuckgreencolo@msn.com
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

My mind is a bit dazed and confused at times - but that is normal ;-) I've set an appointment with a new Doc @ Emory - Hope to have different results....

Obama's blame game is getting old. He is now blaming the Republicans for the Democrats not standing together. Obama said "If this obstruction continues, unemployed Americans will see their benefits stop...Teachers and firefighters will lose their jobs. Families will pay more for their first home. All we ask for is a simple up or down vote. That's what the American people deserve." Can someone tell Obama that he has enough Democrats in Congress to override anything the Republicans want to do, block or propose? Could it possible be that even the Democrats are tired of Obama, Pelosi and Reid's unbridled spending, unbelievable arrogance, assault on capitalism, growing government and outright lying? Here is a video on Obama's blame game.

BP must stand for "Butthead Principles" or "Bad PR" Did Tony Hayward just go to a Yacht Race? Oh wait, he was trying to keep up with Obama's golf and White House concerts with Paul McCartney. I wonder if Obama knows that Bush quit playing golf when he sent soldiers off to war because he thought it wasn't right.... Soldiers still off to war...Gulf is being destroyed by oil...Debt is doubling...Unemployment is sky high - but Obama knows that if he just shows empathy every time he talks his loyal legions will continue to bow down to him.... Tony is just following suit...At the time Tony was out yachting...Obama was at the Nationals baseball game. (This of course if after his two vacations since the oil spill)...I'm glad the Gulf Oil spill is his top priority (See this blog about that)

I am sure that Obama is rooting for the U.S. team to win the World Cup - but there is that niggling thought in the back of my mind that says he hopes we don't win - because he might have to apologize for it.

Obama is so happy that the 10,000th infrastructure related job just got kicked off. Wow, we are really burning through this stimulus money and unemployment is still hoovering at 10% (2% higher than he said it would go if we let him have the blank check called Stimulus funding.) So when we burn through the trillion dollars in stimulus money what are these infrastructure guys going to do?

Do I understand this correctly? The National Institutes of Health has awarded a $219,000 stimulus grant to psychology professor Michael Carey to study the "hookups" of 500 freshmen women. Hell, I know a lot of guys that would participate in this study for free! I guess this really is "stimulus" money...

Do I understand this correctly? A person that has sworn to uphold the Constitution thinks it is okay to ignore it as long as it feels good? Senator Nelson says 'Obama may not have Constitutional authority to shakedown BP, but he has the moral authority to do it.' I guess it is okay to bypass the Constitution when you feel that it is morally right. Hmmm, I wonder how my morals stack up against a Chicago politician?

Do I understand this correctly? Obama had Eric Holder start an investigation to see if anyone in BP (mainly executives) should be held criminally liable....And then had Eric Holder negotiate with these executives in order to get the $20 Billion out of BP? I actually agree with the $20 Billion but this is dirty politics and a classless shakedown... Also I can't help but think that the $20 Billion will be used to buy more votes as politicians look to dole the money out to unions and anyone else they feel "deserves it". Let's see if Louisiana votes more Democrat after this debacle...I think there are now 20 billion new reasons for Louisanna to vote Democrat...

Do I understand this correctly? We just gave an Indian Casino - that grossed $1.3 Billion dollars in 2009 - $54 million in stimulus funding? But the good news is that according to Chris Dodd (the Senator who pushed the money to the Casino) and the Mohegan Indian Tribe this will generate 1,200 new infrastructure jobs. Oh - but then the money runs out, and then the 1200 people will need to find new ones...

Do I understand this correctly? The person responsible for enforcing the law of the land is going to sue a state because he doesn't like their law? There is a federal law on the books that Arizona's new immigration law is mimicking. Basically it is illegal to be illegal. But Obama doesn't want to enforce this federal law so he is going to sue Arizona in the hopes that Arizona's law will be stopped. WTF? Is this a vote buying scam again? And what about the tough rhetoric on the campaign trail...Oh wait this is Obama - The guy who says what his audience wants to hear - not what he is going to do...

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

I appreciate all the texts, emails and FB posts before during and after my ride. During the journey they kept me entertained and aspired. While sitting for many miles in the saddle, my mind would sift through the comments and focus on them.... I also kept memories of my family close at hand. It helped me ignore the saddle sores, my stiff neck, separated toe and exhaustion....ETC....

I probably had the most expressed concerns and comments around my seizure in Dublin. Luckily it was small, and after much contemplation after the seizure- I finished the route to Savannah. The sane part of my brain said "It will be 97 degrees with a heat index over 105. It will be the longest part of the journey. You just had a seizure - go lay down until your car ride comes by tomorrow." The other side of the brain - which typically wins out - said "It was a small set back - go for it. You can stay cool. The hills will be gone, and besides look at all the people that have been commenting on Facebook, texting and emailing - they will be disappointed!"

So, I finished my Dublin McDonald's breakfast, hopped on the saddle and took off..... Nearly 12 hours later I rode into Savannah. Kudos to my friend Bob. He left 24 hours early to meet up with me. Without him delivering ice water and ensuring I navigated correctly - I probably would have stopped way before Savannah.

During the entire trip - I did stop several times in the heat of the day and lay down in the forest to cool down. But, being a full blown city slicker - I had forgotten about those damn green horse flies and how bad those things can bite. Laying down (and sometimes sleeping) in the forest did help me cool down - but it was painful at times. It also didn't help sitting/laying next to fire ants... The welts are now gone - but I won't forget about them for a while.

Besides the horse flies and fire ants there were many other notable memories. The smells were the most memorable: Kudzo, mowed fields, dead animals, hot asphalt and.....oh well I guess I forgot already. Other memories include sleeping next to the BP and being woken by the town cop....Running over a squirrel five miles from my start...Being thankful for the 18 wheelers flying by at top speed and feeling their breeze.... The offers for rides from locals - usually right after they asked me 'what cha' do-ing in the heat riding a bicycle?'....Watching the buzzards (or crows or vultures???) circling me for 15 miles.... I'm sure there are more that will come back to me.

******************* On to another subject *******************

Many have asked about my health. In short, I have had three seizures in the last 36 hours. All three were small - with only one knocking me out for a few seconds - Got a small bump on my head. I'm actually feeling fine - so no worries. Sometimes my life is like the movies Fifty First Dates and Ground Hog's Day. It can be fun discovering new things but also frustrating when you know others are repeating something you should already know... But - I do have two discoveries:

1) My short term memory moves things to long term memory when I have "emotions" tied to them. I've know this for a while, but have now been able to codify it better. If I have fear, happiness, or any other emotion tied to a memory - then I will most likely remember that memory. I remember the joy of entering the hotel in Dublin and feeling the air conditioning.

2) I've been telling people for sometime that I have problem's "calculating." But I think now, I have problems with abstract ideas - which includes calculating numbers in my head. As an example - I thought I would help a friend on a small project. During the initial planning phase -I tried to count (in my head) the number of screws I would need on a yet to be built piece of furniture. I couldn't do it. I couldn't keep track of the number of screws and the places they needed to be. This normally would be easy for me. I can count the screws when I have a schematic drawing or if I have physical screw holes to count. But I couldn't count them when they were "abstract".... (An emotional discovery that I remember) I've been testing my theory about "abstract" on several things today and it seems to be true.... Puzzling how the mind works.

So, I've been in touch with the Doc's office and hope to have changes to my meds soon....In the meantime - I'm enjoying life, watching the World Cup and trying to keep my life in order... I think I'm succeeding but you have to ask people around me to know if I am ;-)
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

(I think) I'm going to do something that I've wanted to do for some time. I'm pedaling my bicycle from Atlanta to Savannah. Now what business does an out-of-shape epileptic have in riding 280 miles on two 1" tires? None - but never in my life had I had the time to do this. I'm still having active seizures - but they usually are in the morning hours and they typically are small partial simple seizures - which don't knock me out. So as long as I take the necessary precautions I should be okay....

I'm not in the best of shape, but I have been riding anywhere from 3 to 35 miles a day....Now if I can just ride 85 miles a day for 3 days - I got it. Simple! A few years ago I had ridden a couple of centuries (100 miles) but never back to back to back. But I can do this...maybe...

If I have a Tonic Clonic seizure I just stay at a cheap Motel 8 or something for a day while I recuperate. If I have some partial simples I will get tired and sleep a few hours in a sleaze bag motel on the side of the road.... (or on the side of the road). If I get confused, lost or need to give up - I call family and friends for help ;-)

Where ever I am at the end of the third day - my friend, Bob, is coming to pick me up and take me the final way to Savannah...So weather I stop in Macon, Dublin or Garden City -I will make it to Savannah....

Now this is interesting. As many of you know, I have problems with short term memory and "calculations". I did a test run of 20 miles today using a "google bike route map". It is the same as the google maps - where it tells you the road, the way to turn and how far to go until the next turn. The problem comes in when I read the map and then try to translate that into action. It requires mathematical computations and memory! Oh what a surprise!

I read go 0.6 miles and turn left on Main street. I shove the map into my shorts and pedal onward. I then forget the mileage and/or the name of the road that I just read. Also, I cannot use my odometer very well because I'm having trouble adding the 0.6 miles to the 128.3 miles. This should be simple - but for me right now -----it is tough. It is a bit frustrating, but not too bad. It is just that I had to stop every so often and re-read the map -again and again and again. I only got lost twice.

At one time my wife bought me a GPS because I do get lost in places I should know. But some nice thief was good enough to borrow it from my wife's car one night.... I might have to go buy another one.... hmmmmm...Just spending money for a waterproof GPS seems a little extravagant...

My life insurance is paid up ;-) Wish me luck! It is education...
June 2 2010 - (same day as above) In a speech to Carnegie Mellon, Obama said; "That’s why I’ve made education reform a top priority -- because countries that out-educate us today will out-compete us tomorrow." It’s our ports, our airports, our sewer systems, our water systems. We’re going to have to figure out how do we make those kinds of long-term investments, but do so in a way that doesn’t increase our deficit, and that's going to be a challenge, but I think it’s going to be a priority." Source Whitehouse.gov

Hold on! Source Whitehouse.gov

Oh crazy me. It is Digital TV conversion
Feb 11, 2009 - President Obama signed the legislation delaying the mandatory conversion from analog to digital signals from February 17 to June 12 and said "During these challenging economic times, the needs of American consumers are a top priority of my administration,"

and the list can go on and on including health care, urban affairs, transparency in government.. I'm just tired of typing tonight. SO DOES THIS EXPLAIN WHY HE IS SO INEPT AND IS FAILING IN PROTECTING MY GULF COAST? Oh how true this is: Al and Tipper Gore are getting a divorce but right before the divorce announcement, they bought their FOURTH house. Truthfully, I support their right to buy and own a hundred homes. However, Al is the one that is telling us the evils of global warming. Al is the one that is speaking for the environmental wackos who are telling me my home is too big, my carbon footprint is too big and my impact on the environment is too big. But sorry - Al is a hypocrite - very much like most of the extreme environmentalist.

Al's newest home in his collection of four was purchased for $9 million. It has 9 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a swimming pool and a spa. Now this could be Tipper's personal home. I'm sure we will find out soon. But if you really believe in what you are preaching - wouldn't you follow your own advice? Let's don't just blame Al - many of these stated "environmentalist" live up to Logan Smith's prediction. Obama is a great example. He is currently living in one the most recognized homes in the world. But, he still owns another house in Chicago....and not just any house. It is a three story, $1.6 million home in Hyde Park. Again. I support his right to own as many homes as he wants. BUT if you really do believe in making everyone equal, sharing the wealth, forcefully reducing every one's carbon footprint and that a government can be efficient- what would possess you to own such a home? Hypocrisy is the only answer I can come up with... This ranks right up with Michael Moore using capitalism to profit on a movie that berates capitalism.

Obama is leading the hypocrisy. The Gulf Oil spill started on April 20th. Since that time, Obama has given 19 waivers to allow companies to drill in the Gulf. So, as he tells us that he has established a moratorium - he is actually giving exemptions to companies to drill. It is kind of like the PayGo law that he keeps touting and ignoring. 17 of these exemptions are similar in scope to BP's deepwater fiasco. Six of these waivers are for ultra deep wells that are 9,000 feet or more. So again he straddles the fence and is his typical hypocritical self. I actually support deep water drilling - BUT the government needs to be prepared. They need to practice environmental disaster preparedness. Not until they know how to stop a leak should we allow drilling. We can fly people to the moon (of course Obama stopped this) so we can certainly plug a leak a mile or two below the ocean.

This seems to be the typical hypocritical B.S. from the left. This is the same left that says allowing Sheraton's (in the quest for the hotel to be green) guests the right not to have their room cleaned is just a way to reduce cleaning staff and thus illegal - according to their union. This comes from the same left side that says buying a plastic fake Christmas tree is better than buying a live cut tree. This comes from the same left side that says wind turbines destroy migratory birds and nuclear reactors are not environmentally safe but yet says the current oil alternative is evil. This comes from the same left side that says you can drill for oil a mile below the ocean where a disaster could destroy the Gulf of Mexico but not on land because it might hurt a lake. I guess Obama has in his head this history of Democrat hypocrisy....

If we follow these Hypocritical "reformer" Democrats it would be like following Alice down the Rabbit hole...Nothing makes sense....

.
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

I don't know if the source really is an 82 year old lady, but the comments ring true. I don't necessarily agree with everything, but it is thought provoking and I do agree with the sentiment...

Written by an 82 year old, very wise lady. She gives us a whole new slant on the amazing job Obama is doing:That is right - I will say it "THANK GOD FOR THE PRESIDENT."

He destroyed the Clinton Political Machine - Driving a stake thru the heart of Hillary's Presidential aspirations - something that no Republican was ever able to do. Remember when a Hillary Presidency scared the daylights out of you!

He killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - No more Kennedy's trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home. American women and Freedom are safer tonight!

He is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes! Dennis Moore had never lost a race - quit. Evan Bayh had never lost a race - quit. Byron Dorgan had never lost a race - quit Harry Reid - soon to be GONE. These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed! By the end of 2010 dozens more will be gone. In December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles they had picked up 14 senate seats and 52 house seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. In just one year, Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the house, if not the senate back to the Republicans.

He has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Every Generation seems to need to relearn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. He is bringing home the lesson very well. Liberals tax, borrow and spend - check. Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America - check. Liberals want to take over the economy - check. Liberals think they know what is best for everyone - check. Liberals aren't happy till they are running YOUR life - check

He has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year he has rejuvenated the Conservative movement and brought out to the streets millions of Freedom Loving Americans. Name me one other time in your life that you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America !

His amazing leadership has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded or moved off-shore.

In all honesty one year ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life. Not of the economy but of the direction our country was going. I thought Americans had forgotten what this country was all about. My neighbors, friends and strangers proved to me that my lack of confidence of the Greatness and Wisdom of the American people was flat wrong.

When the American People wake up no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them!Barack Obama woke up these Great Americans! Again I want to say Thank You Barack Obama! This is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed.

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

If they told you again and again not to do it and they said they would kill you if you did - would you do it? If you were stupid enough to say "yes" - Have you not read the bible? And do you not know that the IDF is one of the highest trained, best equipped and most violent militaries in the world? Do you not know that the Mossad Intelligence is one of the best in the world -(and why would you also tell them you were coming?). The IDF and Mossad are protecting their homeland: Weather you like or hate the State of Israel - don't be stupid. Anyone on that flotilla of boats that resisted and then beat an IDF trooper armed with a paintball gun was not thinking too clearly... Justice for stupidity can be swift.

Congress under the tutelage of Pelosi, Reid and Obama just passed an additional several hundred billion (that is right - hundred billions) dollars spending package without cutting any spending. So -more debt added to my kids! Unbelievable....

Is Obama weak and making America weaker? You decide: One of America's strongest allies - French President Sarkozy said ""He's a charmer, a conciliator, but I am not sure that he's a strong leader in a crisis..." Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Obama was "an ineffective leader influenced by Israel to target Iran more aggressively." In today's USA Today - they said that China will use the current North Korea/South Korea tensions as a way to "reinforce" America's weakness to it allies and partners. Does the top guy ever bow to others? And the list goes on.... Maybe one day Obama will learn that we don't live in Candy Land....

I've had several people ask - I haven't had a seizure in a week (?). My short term memory is still in shambles - but I think it is improving. My ability to calculate also seems to be coming back. Although at times I'm clueless - there are other times where I can do basic mathematical calculations. Name recall still seems to be a deficit. Slow progress...

And the purpose of the U.S. government isn't being fulfilled in the Southern part of the U.S.. The purpose isn't to run my health care. The purpose isn't to buy cars that get poor gas mileage. The purpose isn't to buy private companies. The purpose isn't to run a TV or radio station (PBS - NPR). The purpose isn't to caulk my house. The purpose isn't to regulate video games. The purpose isn't to cut my salt intake. The purpose isn't to tax. (and Obama's list goes on and on and on) Go back to the basics: Protect U.S. citizens, the environment and capitalism....

Maybe if Obama goes back to the coast, holds his staff up high and screams for the water and oil to part - it will? If it works, it will make clean up a lot easier.

Glad the left anointed this guy as our leader....It makes a great text book example of what weak leadership with strong public relations can do. Gibbs has one of the toughest jobs in government....

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

"Place blame but say your aren't placing blame - and never really take responsibility -0 but say you are..." Read this and tell me who is responsible?

May 28th - Obama speech - "As I’ve said before, BP is the responsible party for this disaster. What that means is they’re legally responsible for stopping the leak and they’re financially responsible for the enormous damage that they’ve created. And we’re going to hold them accountable, along with any other party responsible for the initial explosion and loss of life on that platform. But as I said yesterday, and as I repeated in the meeting that we just left, I ultimately take responsibility for solving this crisis. I’m the President and the buck stops with me." (HE FINALLY SAID THIS?!?!)

May 27th - Obama Q&A - "And in case anybody wonders -- in any of your reporting, in case you were wondering who’s responsible, I take responsibility"

But the story was a bit different before the 27th....

May 22 - "Obama speech - first and foremost, what led to this disaster was a breakdown of responsibility on the part of BP and perhaps others, including Transocean and Halliburton. And we will continue to hold the relevant companies accountable not only for being forthcoming and transparent about the facts surrounding the leak, but for shutting it down, repairing the damage it does, and repaying Americans who’ve suffered a financial loss. But even as we continue to hold BP accountable, we also need to hold Washington accountable."

May 12- Carol Browner - "The President has been clear from the beginning: his Administration will not rest until the leak is contained and cleaned up and we will aggressively pursue full compensation for damages from BP and other responsible parties."

May 4th - Whitehouse.gov website: "So let’s be clear about a few things: BP is responsible for -- and will be held accountable for – all of the very significant clean-up and containment costs. "

April 29 - Robert Gibbs: "The President urged, out of an abundance of caution and mindful of the new information, that we must position resources to continue to aggressively confront this incident. Following that, Rear Admiral Landry announced that while BP is ultimately responsible, the administration will continue to be aggressive in our response, and we will use all available resources....As the President and the law have made clear, BP is the responsible party and is required to fund the costs of the response and cleanup operations...And finally, the responsible party, British Petroleum. BP has taken a number of steps, as has been mentioned -- the controlled burns, the skimming, the booming, the activities to try and secure at the sub-floor surface -- we are working very closely with them, but as responsible parties, the role of the Coast Guard and the unified command partners to ensure that they move forward with activities that are safe, that are appropriate, and that will do the job to secure and remove this oil.."

This is just a sampling of what Obama and his administration has said. It is well documented that Obama and his staff have placed all blame and responsibility on BP....

And a final comment. The words "BP Oil Spill" are used on whitehouse.gov so everyone know's who to blame and who is responsible the oil spill. The strategy is simple: Place blame at all costs. I have no doubt he cares, but his excuses and poor leadership gets me upset. Forget the fact he has taken two vacations during this time, and he never put a person in charge. He has no idea on how to lead - but he can certainly talk a good game.... But as he talks - my beloved Gulf is getting destroyed...

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

Again it doesn't matter that he says he is for transparency and non-partisanship....Because he operates just the opposite. Here is the standard format and case examples:

1 - Establish fault and place blame with someone else - but never - ever accept any blame

Oil Spill - Blame BP: Obama calls it "BP's oil spill". Gibbs says they are keeping their "boot on the throat of BP" and as most of Obama's Czars talk of this tragedy they blame BP. On the white house.gov they call it "Deepwater BP oil spill"

Immigration - Obama, on Cinco de Mayo, states it isn't his fault: "Make no mistake, our immigration system is broken. And after so many years in which Washington has failed to meet its responsibilities..."

Deficit Spending -Obama states"... that [we] will pay, by the way, for everything that we did during the Recovery Act. So everything that’s happened on my watch, we will have paid for -- we will have paid for. But I inherited a structural deficit that is going to get worse in the years to come because our population is getting older, health care costs have been going up faster than inflation, more people are on Social Security, more people are on Medicare, and we’ve had two wars that we’ve been fighting. If you combine all that plus the interest on that debt, if we don’t bring it under control we really are going to be burdening the next generation in a way that’s not acceptable."

Health Care - In a speech to the AFL-CIO Obama laid out his argument that he is just an innocent bystander in the discussion: "we have talked this issue to death, year after year, decade after decade. That's why I said last week before a joint session of Congress, I said, the time for bickering is over. The time for games has passed. Now is the time for action. Now is the time to deliver on health insurance reform."

2 - Propose that only a Federal Government solution is the only answer to any problem or issue: Propose huge amount of spending: Tell everyone that Capitalism, Corporation or Private Industry is on the opposite side of the solution.

Oil Spill - Create a government commission - check. Increase oversight by government on what is said it was already doing - check. Create a legislative package - check. Create a Presidential memorandum - check. Propose to grow government involvement -exponential - check. Say private enterprise needs to be reined in - check.

Immigration - Obama establishes that only Federal government can control illegal immigration (although it doesn't do it)"...And that’s why I’ve instructed my administration to closely monitor the new law in Arizona, to examine the civil rights and other implications that it may have. That’s why we have to close the door on this kind of misconceived action by meeting our obligations here in Washington."

Deficit Spending On January 30th, The President pledges "to rein in the deficit, citing three specific steps to this end. He praises the Senate for restoring the pay-as-you-go law, discusses his proposal for a freeze in discretionary spending, and calls for a bipartisan Fiscal Commission to hammer out further concrete deficit reduction proposals." Pay-as-you-go keeps being ignored, discretionary spending hasn't been frozen, and talk talk talk but no action on deficit spending....Over $300 billion in new spending is being proposed now!

Health Care - The doctors and health insurance providers were made to be scape goats for run away cost and poor coverage. Medicaid and Medicare were held up as model programs....Say what????

3 - Say you need Bi-partisan support for a clearly liberal partisan solution. Thus paint the Republican or another entity as obstructionist. (Just curious - why would they support such poor decisions?)

Oil Spill - A statement by Obama on May 18th - "I am disappointed that an effort to ensure that oil companies pay fully for disasters they cause has stalled in the United States Senate on a partisan basis. This maneuver threatens to leave taxpayers, rather than the oil companies, on the hook for future disasters like the BP oil spill. I urge the Senate Republicans to stop playing special interest politics and join in a bipartisan effort to protect taxpayers and demand accountability from the oil companies.”

Immigration - Obama blamed the Republicans for not putting immigration up for debate in the senate. "The political challenge is, is that I have confidence that I can get the majority of Democrats, both in the House and the Senate, to support a piece of legislation of the sort that I just described. But I don’t have 60 votes in the Senate. I’ve got to have some support from Republicans."

Deficit Spending - Blame the Republicans or Bush for anything that has to do with Government finance: It doesn't matter that Democrats have the majority and can vote and pass anything they want.

Health care - On December 2, The White house blog discusses how the Republicans are obstructionist on Health care. It didn't matter that Democrats have the majority and can vote and pass anything they wanted

4 - Say what the people want to hear - not what is actually going to happen

On any topic from A to Z, a person can show how Obama said one thing to get his base behind his effort and then did the exact opposite. You never know where this guy is coming from... ooops not true. He is coming from the extreme left, but speaks centrist...

Oil Spill - The people wanted to know that the President was involved in the oil spill since day 1. He said nothing the first 9 days and then after realizing that there was catastrophic problem, he released a statement telling everyone how he was involved in everything from day 1. He codified and embellished his involvement.

Immigration - In the state of the union speech he said, "We should continue the work of fixing our broken immigration system — to secure our borders, enforce our laws and ensure that everyone who plays by the rules can contribute to our economy and enrich our nations." People want to hear this, but no action by the federal government has been done. And now, the head of ICE is saying they won't help Arizona deport illegal aliens...This is just the tip of the iceberg

Deficit Spending - There are 588 hits on the whitehouse.gov website for the word "deficit". Nearly everyone of these hits are Obama making statements over the last 24 months on how he is working on reducing the deficit. The exact opposite has been happening...The deficit is growing at an astronomical rate.

Health Care - Wow there are so many positions Obama took that it is easy to find contradictions. How 'bout this on September 18th 2009 - Obama firmly and emphatically stated that his "health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants!" And then compare this to the actual law that has been passed that does cover illegal and legal immigrants and the fact that Obama believes it is wrong to have people prove citizenship at anytime....

5 - Create more government oversight/administration and avoid putting any "personal accountability" requirements into laws and regulation.

Inside Obama's mind I can see the word "government" plastered on every wall. For him - no matter what the question, the answer is "government"....Take all the topics and not once has he said a smaller government is the answer. Not once has he said capitalism is the answer. He does talk as if he is a centrist, but his action is nothing but growing government. AND NEVER have I seen him put into a proposal that an individual is responsible for themselves, their family, their friends and their community. He seems to believe that only government is responsible for individuals....Disgusting...

So the framework for his arguments are simple....Place blame, shirk responsibility, grow government and tell people what they want to hear....

.

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

The sign simply read "The Buck Stops Here". Truman believed the sentiment and used it in several speeches. In his farewell address he said: "The President--whoever he is--has to decide. He can't pass the buck to anybody. No one else can do the deciding for him. That's his job"

Obama, either didn't get that message, doesn't believe that message or is just arrogant to believe that the top guy gets the glory and none of the blame. I find it incredibly arrogant for Obama to keep blaming everything on everybody else and taking credit for everything that doesn't need blame.

Yesterday he blamed the Republicans for the Democrats not putting Immigration on the agenda of Congress. How many times have we heard him say that his spending is because of George Bush? How many times has he blamed fat cat bankers for the financial mess brought upon by congressional regulations on home ownership? How many times will he blame the Republicans for not passing his socialist health care plan and having to settle for the crap he ended up with? How many times will he be allowed to blame lobbyist for his decisions and the congressional vote? How often will he blame the 2009/2013 growth in the budget deficit on the Republicans? It is just appalling...

Yes, I agree with him, things don't work in government - That is why I don't want them running my health care. And, I also know that many of the Obamaites who hang on every word believe that he doesn't pass the blame - because he says he doesn't "play the blame game" - (but then turns around and blames someone for something). But because he said he doesn't place blame - some of these Obamanians, who anointed him - not elected him, will tell me he doesn't place blame.

WTF...Incredibly arrogant. Let's just see how much money he proposes to spend in today's speeches and then blame the spending on someone else....
See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

How in the hell can he blame the Republicans for not enforcing immigration laws that are already on the books. All it takes is for him to quit playing politics to get new voters and grow some balls, nuts, plums, rocks, bollocks, nads, gonads, nuggets, Cracker Jacks, stones, kerbangers, marbles, tenders, cullions, bells, pelotas, nutsack, bollocks, family jewels, gems, cojones, junk, package, manjigglies, Man tonsils, Knackers, Cods, love spuds, hanging brain.. (sorry for this colorful vernacular - that was my redneck coming out...)

I didn't think Obama's arrogance toward the UK could have gotten worse. When he gave the Queen of England a present of an I-pod with his speeches I thought that was the pinnacle of arrogance. But now, he has shown the UK that Winston Churchill isn't worthy of Obama's attention. Read this blog and see how arrogant Obama can be.

Government run health care is such as great idea - NOT! How 'bout this story from the UK -"Woman died after doctors failed to spot toilet brush in her buttocks" According the coroner the lady who died "would have got better treatment in foreign countries." So why is Obama pushing government to take over more of our health care in America. I feel he's got that toilet brush in his hand and looking at me with a smile! (damn this redneck keeps coming out...)

President "The-buck-never-stops-here" Obama has just blamed the Republicans for not putting immigration on the Congressional Docket that is controlled by The Democrats!!! Obama said, "The political challenge is, is that I have confidence that I can get the majority of Democrats, both in the House and the Senate, to support a piece of legislation of the sort that I just described. But I don’t have 60 votes in the Senate. I’ve got to have some support from Republicans." Oh? so the Republicans won't sign off on his plan of legalizing 11 million future Democratic voters - So those Republicans are obstructionist!!!! Wow - arrogance! Why not call a Republican Senator and ask what it would take to get Republican's on board?

Let me make sure I have this right. Lindsey Lohan can't get into this country without a passport but 11 million illegal aliens can?

I'm actually fine with the Mexican President, Felipe de Jesús Calderón Hinojosa, lecturing the U.S. in front of the U.S. Senate. We have done it in the past to other countries. (Not Obama of course - he just apologizes and begs forgiveness for U.S. history) However, I totally disagree with Calderón's sentiment, as I've heard Democrats disparage America worse then he did in the same halls. But I also think he was very disingenuous. I don't think he has spent one dime (or diez pesos) on border security. I also know he risks his life every day as he fights a battle of epic proportions against those narcos...I don't envy his job...

Is there anyway I can try to elect Governor Jan Brewer to Georgia's governorship. Again, I don't like the law Arizona passed. I think it is legal and probably necessary given their circumstances. But what I like about her is her defiance to Obama. If he won't do his job - she will - un-apologetically! Gotta love a strong conservative person with strong convictions...

BP has show that they were not prepared for the disaster in the Gulf. But the Federal Government has show even worse incompetence. Glad they are putting forth the effort, but was there any preparations done - except the purchase of a bunch of oil booms???? If you know that this can happen and you have said you were preapared and on top of this since day one - why are we relying on BP's innovation to develop strategies as they go along. Why doesn't the government have a clue as to how much oil is leaking? Again, why does Obama think Government is the answer to everything - when a government becomes incompetent the more it grows???

How do I win a battle when I don't identify my enemy? For some reason it is immoral to call a terrorist a terrorist? Also, I've told my adversaries when I'm leaving Iraq and Afghanistan. Why wouldn't they just wait for me to leave? Seems like common sense to me....

Why is North Korea now emboldened enough to kill a boat load of South Koreans? Perhaps they sense some weakness in our response? Hmmm...wonder why --------Not!

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com

Congress wants to add another $300 billion to our deficit this year. Unbelievable! And, this is above our $1.3 trillion that has already been over spent! Unbelievable! As I say down South - What in Sam Hill are you-uns thinkin? I reckon thar ain't nary a buck yous haven't done gone spent thrice over. If'n you could you'd change the name of Banks from "Savings and Loans" to just "Give it and Goes" You guys are slicker than snot on a door knob! I guess that laser focus on jobs was more of a 10 watt bulb.

When the U.S. governments spends more than it takes in, you should consider replacing your congressional representative - especially if they voted for any new spending. When a government dramatically spends more than it takes in, you must replace your congressional representatives. When a government dramatically spends more than they take in and then mocks every American with even more spending - fire everyone of them and replace the Executive branch too!

Just so we all start on the same page: Congress is trying to pass some huge spending bills over the next couple of weeks before their recess. These spending bills are not part of the projected $1.3 trillion dollar deficit this year. This is all new spending! And as Pelosi has done on every major spending bill - she is calling these spending packages "emergency" thus being able to bypass the never used PayGo bill - which she keep touting as a success. Say What?

Here is what I see being debated and discussed. Sure, some are noble intentions: some are good ideas - BUT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THE MONEY!!!

State Aid - There is a $23 billion in federal aid spending package to help states meet the increased demands for Medicaid services. (So how is government run health care going to make things better and cheaper?)

Education - There is $23 billion in federal aid (another word for my tax money) to prevent states from having to lay off or furlough principals, teachers and other school personnel. (Great idea - but this is a state's right - not a federal right and I don't want Obama and his cohorts telling states what to educate my kids on.)

Medicare reimbursement - On June 1, Medicare reimbursement rates for physicians will automatically be cut by 21%. Then there are further cuts to reimbursements ranging from 1 to 6 percent. All of this is dictated by formulas in past laws. Lawmakers are looking to override that scheduled cut for five years, at a cost of almost $100 billion. (So again - if Government is so good at running health care - why are passing laws and then changing them before they become enacted?)

Supplemental "Emergency" spending - There is $60 billion in supplemental with $30 billion being earmarked for Iraq and Afghanistan. (As far as I can tell this is just a catch all for another pork-u-lus spending package - again)

Small business tax relief - The proposal is to exclude small business stocks purchased by individuals (angel investors in start-ups) from the capital gains tax. (Estimates range from $1 to $5 billion)

2001/03 tax cuts - If Congress doesn't act by the end of this year the 2001/2003 tax cuts won't get extended. Thus costing Americans that pay taxes (in most tax brackets) over 2 trillion by 2020. (Those evil rich tax payers need to pay their fair share! Because the government needs their share - so they can give it away and be very magnanimous)

Business/Individual Tax breaks - Twenty plus tax breaks for businesses and individuals have expired or will expire soon - roughly $30 billion. Thus the proposal is to reinstate these tax breaks.

And there are countless other government spending bills being proposed too. Pelosi - You obviously think 'mericans are dumber than a box of owl poop? Reid - you obviously don't got both of them oars in the water. And Obama - you're near 'bout useless as goose turds on pump handle. You guys are makin' me madder than a wet hen! Quit this spendin!

See this and other blog posts at www.thegeorgiaredneck.blogspot.com
