My whole life I have always counted every single pound, lost or gained. I can look back at pictures and tell you exactly how much I weighed at that moment. Recently I can safely say that I have been even more on top of things. I'm never without my scale and I probably weight myself way more than I should (at least 3x a day), it's like an obsession.

For the last year I have been beating myself up like crazy. Criticizing my body, comparing myself to others, Making fun of myself (which only opens the doors for others to do so too). I'm either on a complete health kick or I just don't give a fuck. What started out as "let me drop 3 lbs" is now weight gain of 9 lbs. Now I'm not saying that I'm overweight or fat. I'm barely 5'1 and 9 lbs makes a difference on me but not enough for me to allow myself to think so negatively about my body and put myself down in front of others. I'm going to go ahead and play doctor and self diagnose with a slight body dysmorphia.

Which brings me to my next issue...Pinterest and Instragram sure hasn't helped and got me thinking...

I think all the comparisons, negativity, high expectations,stupid jokes and stressing over it has been holding me back from my goals. I have to stop being so hard on myself, criticizing and over thinking everything about my body. I have to do what works for me, what makes me happy and not what drives me insane or makes me obsessive.

I'm not those stick thin women and I will never be. I can also say with confidence I don't want to be them! I have my own body, my Brazilian curves which I happen to love and so does my husband. When I lost my baby weight Pinterest didnt exist. There was no secret 10 lb in 10 day diet. I used my own pictures as motivation. I ate in moderation, I exercised like a normal person. I never beat myself for indulging once in a while. Every time I had to get dressed to go somewhere I looked in the mirror and I was so proud of how far I had come. I never stressed and that was probably the real secret to my consistency.

We're gearing up for the three major F's ...

Fall, Football & Fashion Week.

If your anything like me football is one that does't excite me at all. One of the reasons being that it puts my husband out of commission on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays and honestly that is just too much. Of course fantasy football just puts the cherry on top of it all.

But fall is by far my favorite season so I'm super excited for that...and Fashion week? Of course I have always followed it online and on E! News... lol but this year, thanks to an awesome friend I get to attend one of the fashion shows so I'm thrilled... no really... I'm jumping on the couch excited!

So let's focus on the task at hand. We must to stock up our closet with statement pieces that will easily update our wardrobe and make everything look FALL/WINTER 2013. Weather they are pieces to wear to girls night, a big event, fashion week or even to that football game. Because let's face it we must take time to participate at least once this season...for me it would the SUPERBOWL for OBVIOUS reasons ;)

Everything pointy!!! Tie up strappy pumps,metallic pumps (and of course metallic nails) super chic rocker boots are a must. Leopard will never go out of style, just make sure u choose one statement piece. Don't over do it. I love this simple clutch from gap and it's so affordable. Statement necklaces are perfect to spice up any outfit. I chose a more simple on the tones yet still dramatic in size from J CREW and one with Emerald stones which is still one of the IT colors of this upcoming season. If your going for a night out with the girls or a special event top those lips off with a bold Lip! I chose this one from Tom Ford but MAC has one called Diva that fits just right ;).

Mixing prints and textures are a huge trend and fun for layering. Try pairing the quilted leather skirt with the houndstooth top, tie that flannel around your waist and slip into those booties and u have a super cute look.

There are so many ways to wear skinny distressed boyfriend jeans. My favorite would be with simple white tee, blazer and silver pumps! DIVINE! Winter whites, all black black everything , black and white is here to stay so take advantage of this perfect trend! What girl doesn't love to wear all black? Haaaa I do!

Stay sexy with the lingerie inspired clothing, I picked one by For the Love & Lemons. Slits are to be as high as they can go! I love this pick by Bless'ed are the Meek. They have the option in white as well. It's perfect for a special night out and it reminds me of that super hot dress Miranda Kerr wore to the Met Gala earlier this year!

Ooo how things have changed...

In my "hoochie" years Summer was by far my favorite season, simply because I could wear less clothing. My closet for the most part consisted of mini skirts, halter tops and of course those Marciano bras that were fully beaded. I'm embarrassed to admit that at one point I owed way too many corsets because anything with a strap was way too conservative.

By the time hubby walked into my life I was much better but still needed some work and he made sure he would let me know. He was so annoying...and still is...but I owe it to him to covering up a little ;)

If you know me at all you know I love me some Kim Kardashian. This new mommy is a major fashion inspiration to me. Her style has definitely helped me (and hubby) find a happy medium to balance my sassy Brazilian personality with Connecticut living.

It's UPDATE time & Yes I'm a total slacker!

I have been such a slacker with my blog posts! It has been almost 2 years since I last posted anything on this blog! Wahhhhhhhhhh

There has been so much going and let's be real I have been lazy... REAL LAZY!

My YouTube videos you ask? I've done a few but I'm not impressed so why should you guys be? lol I'm interested to see what you guys think. There are so many channels in English... I think I need to show some support to my Brazilians out there, but then again I would love to do it in English because it comes more naturally to me ... is that normal?

Let's do a quick update on what have I been doing that has kept me so busy! haaaaa! You can now call me granite queen as I have regained my tittle as Sales Manager in my family's granite counter-top business. Hey I'm not living the life I've dreamed of but this is company will be mine someday , might as well embrace it. It's not easy sitting behind the desk as a makeup artist with a passion for all things beauty & fashion but I'm an adult so I shall act like one! :) Anyhow, to keep my creativity going I still freelance for weddings on weekends which is a nice break from the all the granite dust and spreadsheets.

On that note I have made the executive decision to blog regularly. It just makes sense! Bare with while this may be all over the place ...

My father has always been a dreamer. He has had so many businesses in his mind and on practice I can barely keep track. Hot dogs stands by the beach, carpet cleaning, granite counter tops, real estate and the list goes on and on. He is never satisfied and always has a new idea or plan in mind. I worked for him in his granite business up until the end of my pregnancy last year. I told him I had to move on and pursue my own goals, have a career, make a living for myself. I was now a mother and soon to be wife I needed to go back to school and establish myself doing something I loved and could make a living off of it.

I'm now 25 years old, a mom , a wife and part time make up artist. Sure I love doing make up and my dream is...well it has been many things, a spa, a traveling makeup service, a beauty salon an actress... or maybe I would just be happy being a medical assistant because then I would just have a 9-5 job where I could enjoy my weekend with family and friends and most of it all... it would be EASY AND GUARANTEED. Nah...Truth is I would love having anything to do with the beauty industry. I'm starting school to get my aesthetics certificate in November. It sounds much easier just getting a job at a spa, but my mind goes so far beyond that. I look at all these make up on the go businesses thriving everywhere around me and while it amazes me it makes me question myself... Will I ever have that? Do I have enough time , power, enthusiasm and confidence? There is so much competition and for as much as being a part of these companies is an amazing opportunity could I really grow as a make up artist in another persons company? Would I make enough working as freelancer? It always sounds like it's either not enough work for the amount of employees or not enough money for all the hard work I would be putting in. There is always a catch. You have to pick and choose what it worth it to you and I guess when your starting you have to start at the bottom, learning and growing and usually under someone else. Especially when you have a baby.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll end up a dreamer like my father... talking about my dreams and never actually being about them. Starting things I could never finish. I can't actually even compare because my dad has always had the balls to start his dreams. Even if he has failed in the past. I just have a lot of mouth to talk. I was so confident 2 hours ago and now all I have is self doubt. The thought that so many girls my age have accomplished so much and I feel like I have nothing to speak for.It just seems like I've had so many dreams and never pursued any, and yes I take all the blame. I was lazy, not confident, and a punk.I know I've been getting recognition for my work at MAC and my freelancing gigs and my clientele is growing but I guess at the end of the day, everyone just wants their gold star huh?

I don't know about any of you but one of my other obsessions besides BCBG dresses are the Kardashian's sisters! Say whatever you want to say but they are PURE FABULOUSITY ! From their hair to their make up to their pedicures! Amazing style and I LOVES IT! At work I can't get enough requests of people wanting everything Kim K... from her pearly glow to her amazing contoured cheekbones!

Because planning your wedding takes a REALLY LONG time...

I decided to devote some posts to the whole coming together of the wedding day process. For any other married ladies out there I'm sure you all understand understand. It's like you plan a wedding for years/months and just like <<<Phoofff>>> The wedding day comes and go & guess what? I barely remembered the whole day! Of course we decided to skip on the videographer, one because most of them are SOOO cheesy... 2 I wanted lighting instead! lol so here are a few snippets of my bridal shower that was planned by my most AMAZE maid of honour & soon to be bride NOV 2012! :)

BCBG has become my TO GO brand when I'm looking for a cute cocktail dress! I just can't run away from them. Being Brazilian I was blessed with a curvy figure and they seem to flatter me in all the perfect places.. This summer I have worn nothing but BCBG dresses for my main events. When your a mommy it's had to stick to the plan. Like all those ideas I had for those Kim K inspired make up looks? Yeah.. didn't happen, I was running around all day trying to get everything together so Brandon could sleep at in laws house while we had a night off for the wedding. Plus I had to find a dress last minute because the one I originally ordered online never came in on time :( It was pure chaos in the house because my prince/hubby always relay's on me on getting ready time, but none of this stopped me from being the glam mommy that I am.. or try to be anyway... haha :)

Happiness project... major fail...

It's been forever since I have been able to do a blog post.. well truth is I just have been too lazy. I don't know what it is but after I became a mom it doesn't matter if I get 4 or 12 hours worth of sleep , I'm always fatigued/tired. Maybe it has something to do with running around a 10 month old ball of pure yummyness? Brandon has been all over the place! I'm pretty sure he's about to walk at any point. He takes small steps and falls slowly to the ground, poor thing! I'm not sure how I feel about this though... I hate seeing how fast time goes by :( Soon hell be in college ! Ok ok I know I'm over exaggerating but it's just all happening too fast .

Anyway, I wanted to check in considering my project happiness has been a no go, no start no nothing. I haven't even came up with any goals. Every month I will tackle something new. Basically, what the writer did. I'm not even sure where to begin... Ohhh yes I do! Getting my life together like starting school in November for Aesthetics and getting a real full time job!!! I have an interview on Tuesday which I'm really excited for! It's for a traveling bridal company that is so trendy! I'm from CT and everything here is very boring, brown and not fabulous. I feel like I should live in Jersey no maybe MIAMI! Yes I LOVE MIAMI! :) The owner is Blondie from Hair Battle Spectacular which is super awesome!Which look should I do for my interview? I wanted to do a Kim Kardashian look since you cant ever go wrong with anything those three biotches do. I know it's annoying to some but let me tell you when I work at MAC that's what every customer is all about. You tell them Kim wears it and they buy it! I don't blame them because I love them so I'm in for it! :) I'm going to pick one of these looks and try to recreate them... HELP me choose?

Allow me to re-introduce myself... well kind of...

I'm not exactly sure how to do this so I'm just going to roll with it. I will warn you right now, English is my second language so excuse my grammar! Well that's my excuse for it anyway. I'm a 25 year old (mostly) stay at home mommy to an almost 10 month old baby boy named Brandon & a new wife to Mr. P! Before I had these amazing tittles to my life I was just Nathalia. Platinum blond hair, wild child, irresponsible student, the attention whore shaking her Brazilian bootay on top of the speakers wearing the smallest skirt possible (the less clothing the better) at the club sipping beer out of a pitcher with a straw. My main goal in life was to be skinny, tanned, blond and party all the time of course. Very superficial... and typical.. I know! No, I was never into drugs or anything too drastic. I did love to take those Brazilian diet pills which we call chupacabra that would help me to lose 10 lbs in a week any time I felt like I had to from too much Burger King. Being so vein was probably my main fault. Those pills were so toxic and contained so many ingredients for so many different health issues mixed together (that I had none of) I never thought it could all turn on me until it did & began to suffer from extreme depression & and still suffer from major anxiety and OCD. Which leads me to the reason I decided to start this blog.

When I was returning home from our honeymoon I was having a really rough time in the plane. Of course August is hurricane season and we were going through a major thunderstorm. It didn't help that I HATE flying & was having the worst anxiety attack the whole flight! The hubby was going crazy with all the questions I would ask him about airplanes & storms, my sweaty hands and obviously my tossing and turning in the plane, so I decided while we were waiting for our next flight to depart I would get a book and try to relax before I drove myself and Mr.P nuts! I grabbed this book called "The Happiness Project" it's about a woman that has everything she wants and needs in her life and yet still struggles to be happy for as happy as she is... makes sense? I know not really but yes I bought it because someway or another I thought it related to me.The reason for this is I have everything I could ever imagine or dream of and yet I sit here and worry about the future all the time. Things that haven't happened, that probably wont happen, bad things ... I'm just a worrier. In other words I sit here and wait for God to punish me for all the wrong things I have done in my past even though I know God is good.

I know it doesn't make much sense now but I started this blog because in all honesty I have WAY too much time on my hands to think about the bad things that can ruin your happiness and sometimes for as much as people in your life love you , they don't understand you and one hour of therapy just isn't long enough!!! I want to share my feelings, my passion, my work, my life & fabulous findings and tips of course with who ever is out there. This blog is my diary of my happiness project and my way to concentrate on what matters life. Love, laughs & lipgloss of course.. My way to count my blessings & dream! Sometimes it's hard being young mother and wife and still feel like yourself and I know many women can relate. So sit back & relax I hope you guys can handle my insanity.. lol
