From the very beginning, I've enlisted Google AdSense to assist me in becoming one of those bloggers that makes thousand$ of dollars a day in advertising revenue. (Actually my blog has been successful in many other ways, in that it has brought me business in connection with my yummy direct-sales business that I love so... but that's another story. And probably another blog...)

So here we are, a year and a half later and I am ALMOST there!!! No, not thousands of dollars, but literally thousands of pennies!! I am very, very close to approaching that ever-elusive "cash-out" amount where Google will magically make a deposit to my account. Wow. Can you hear the excitement?!! Can you feel it?!

You're right, it's not really there.

By the time I get to the cash-out point, I estimate I will have made approximately 0.00065 cents per hour. And that is just not going to get me that vacation home in the Hamptons that I want oh-so-badly. So I persevere onwards and upwards, although I feel sometimes like it's more backwards and downwards... However, thank you Google, for giving me the opportunity to earn that 0.00065 cents per hour, it's been very enriching. Just hasn't made me very RICH!!!

Oh look, is that a Google Ad below this post?!

Women Are Like Apples...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_653SLF4Cc9w/SLWjO-FShWI/AAAAAAAAAQk/O7H37mAoxSY/s200/apples.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239273219094119778" />Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Omg, I don't know why I find that so funny....

Get Those 100 Things Done Quickly.....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_653SLF4Cc9w/SLSJZjUBYJI/AAAAAAAAAQc/sYOcQFXts8M/s400/100things.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238963338607681682" />In 1999, Dave Freeman co-authored a book called, "100 Things To Do Before You Die". The book was one of the first contemporary books to create a travel agenda based on 100 sites and then market it with a title that reminded mortal readers that time was limited. The book started with his quote, "This life is a short journey. How can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?"

On August 17th, Dave Freeman fell, hit his head, and unexpectedly died. He was 47 years old. At the time of his death, he had visited approximately half of the locations listed in his book.

Perhaps we should all have a "bucket list"....

Say It Isn't So Part II

Holy schmoley, what is happening to the fave band of the Golf HenHouse?! Barenaked Ladies singer Ed Robertson and three others hiked out of the Canadian wilderness on Sunday afternoon after their float plane crashed near Baptiste Lake in eastern Ontario, it was reported today. Any fan of "Ed's Up" knows about Ed and his plane.

The passengers on that plane are very, very lucky to have walked away from that crash. All of this bad BNL news lately is seriously compromising the chances of a new CD coming out soon. However, I do digress today as I came across this photo of a very rare 2-toned lobster. Never seen anything like it... This sucker is a typical mottled green on one side; the other side is a shade of orange that looks cooked. And the colour is perfectly split down the middle. Why they haven't nicknamed him "Cruella", I'll never know.

Apparently the odds of finding a half-and-half lobster are 1 in 50 million to 100 million. And the irony? Oh, I wish I hadn't heard that. BNL is a fab fave of the Golf HenHouse, and their latest CD, "Snacktime" is constantly being played for Pitch & Putt in the golf-mobile. When you hear a news item like that, happening to someone you don't know but you admire, you can't help what thing got them in there in the first place. No one knows... just one person. If he has a problem, I hope he gets help. If he screwed up, I hope he owns up to it. If it's a mistake, I hope it's corrected. For his sake and his family's, I hope that this particular situation can be turned around into something positive.

Not Bats in the Belfry

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_653SLF4Cc9w/SHz8v4KGtzI/AAAAAAAAAPk/nGTf5w5Vqjw/s320/batbra.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223327567301752626" />But Bats in the Bra?! Last week a 19 year old British woman discovered she had a bat hiding in her 34FF bra. Ya. She had felt a slight buzzing and thought it was her vibrating cell phone. Apparently after she made her discovery and released the rodent, she actually felt sorry for about disturbing it's slumber. "It looked very snug in there and I thought how mean I was for disturbing it." Ew, ick....

I'm not sure what's more disturbing - the fact that there was a bat in there or the fact she keeps her cellphone in her bra. (Shudder....)

All Fall Down

I'm not a fan of beauty pageants, but OH, do I ever love to watch the bloopers!!! Whether it's a contestant flubbing her lines, or trying to pepper her thought-provoking question with an answer that includes all the major news topics of the day, or something simple like this. Being introduced and then promptly falling down.
I'm not sure what's funnier - the fall itself or the big round of applause that Miss. A drunk driver plowed into a group of cyclists along the US/Mexico border. Apparently this is a genuine photo, and has not been photo-shopped or altered in any way. One cyclist was killed and 10 others were injured. The driver of the car apparently fell asleep and it's been reported that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The cyclists were 15 minutes into a 34km race.

Drinking and driving - it's never going to end, is it....

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_653SLF4Cc9w/SHpE_h7q4uI/AAAAAAAAAPc/s9-HZU0Pvy8/s400/bikecrash.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5222562576120603362" />

Eight Silly Seconds

Sometimes I feel sorry for newscasters. It's always front-page news though, no matter who's involved. And sometimes I find you just can't HELP but read all about it - it's like watching a train wreck. Such is the case with the now infamous Brinkley-Cook divorce trial that's now going on. Any headline I see, I read it. Why? Because I've always kind of admired Christie Brinkley, she's a successful business woman, a mother and most of all, an ICON in the Hampton social scene.

I don't think I'll ever find my way to the Hamptons, but it's always been a dream of mine. And I have no idea why.

I read an interesting article on the Brinkley-Cook divorce today in the LA Times. They described Brinkley as "a beloved fixture on the Hamptons circuit. At 54, her blond tresses fall on her shoulders just so.." That made me think about how I might be described, should the case ever arise. And there you see, is why I've put a picture of Bill the Cat next to Christie Brinkley. The only place I'm a beloved fixture in is the local grocery store and when I wake up in the morning, somehow the feathers from my pillow always seem to escape and attach themselves to my hair is a freakishly punky type of headdress.

Will it be different when I'm 54? Will I be blonde and dressed like something in a Calvin Klein ad? Will I get invited to Diddy's White Party? Probably not. I'll probably still look like Bill the Cat, only older. And that's okay with me. Because for all perks there are about being rich and famous, there are alot of perks that I'd rather not have... thank you very much.

Good luck Christie, Bill the Cat is behind you all the way! Aaaaaccck!!

My New Catch-Phrase!

So, I've been thinking for a while that I needed something catchy for my home business, a catch-phrase that I could include on my email signatures, something that people would remember. I had no problem with creating my team name (Team Parfait) and I was really happy after I'd created the team name. But I still needed a "slogan", so to speak.

So today my mum just thought of this while she was doing a crossword and multi-tasking by looking at an Epicure catalogue at the same time. It's my new signature & tagline & I LOVE IT!!

"EPICURE" is simply "R-E-C-I-P-E" with "U" in it! Call me today to find out how to become the "U" in "Epicure"!

Love it, love it, love it! So this is official notice that the above noted slogan has been copy-written, because I think it will take off like wildfire & before you know it, EVERY consultant will be saying it!

I am seriously loving my home-business and am realizing more and more what a great decision I made last fall when I decided to sign up with Epicure and become a consultant. My goals as a consultant have changed incredibly in the past 7 months, and I know that I am moving forward and there is nothing limiting me except my own ability. "If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse."
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_653SLF4Cc9w/SHKjUu2QYsI/AAAAAAAAAOc/8k0bH9KQ7Bk/s320/catchphrase2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220414494644134594" />

Google Doodle-doo-doo

<c>Oh, that wasn't nice!!! For years now, the quirky minds at Google have commemorated certain holidays by changing the logo on the infamous home page for Google searches. And they note ALOT of special days; Diego Velázquez's Birthday, first hot air balloon flight, 125th Birthday of Walter Gropius, 50th anniversary of the LEGO brick as well as other not-so-well knows days like oh, say Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Hallowe'en etc.

But in 2003 and again in 2008, just a few days ago, the Google Doodlers failed to acknowledge July 1st - Canada Day.

That's just WRONG!!! If only we Canadians could protest somehow by boycotting the popular search engine. But wait a minute, what the heck would we use?! I think that the least that the Google Doodler Dudes can do to make up for this is the credit the Google AdSense account of every Canadian that is signed up for it.

Google Dudes, let me know if you need my AdSense account name!!!
Oh, and in case you missed the logo for the anniversary of the 1st hot air balloon flight, here it is:
</c>

Nice, isn't it?!

How Exactly Does That Happen?

I'm sorry, it's time for a Freaky Friday Foto. She said to the owner:

“Excuse me, I would like to work for you, and I’ll do a great job. In return, I would like the following:”

FIRST

For everything I sell, I want to keep between 25-35% as my commission. I also want a 3% bonus if I sell more than $2,000 in a month.

SECOND

If I choose to, I’ll find other sharp people to sell for you, and I want to receive a commission for each person I find and train.

THIRD

I want to work my own hours so that sometimes I’ll work a lot and sometimes I’ll take time off.

FOURTH

I would like the opportunity to enter contests to receive rewards and free merchandise.

FIFTH

My family must always come first. So I'll need to be able to work my hours around them.

FINALLY

When I do well, I would like recognition and honour, plus extra gifts like jewelry, trips, cash, a car allowance, etc. Can you give me these things?”

The owner was in shock! He laughed at her and said, “You can't be serious. You're living in a

DREAM WORLD. There isn't a job like that anywhere!”

Actually, this is MY job! Is there any reason why YOU wouldn’t want my job?

I was offered this opportunity and now I’m looking to expand my business.

If this sounds interesting to you, please email me for more information.

(Offer open to Canadian residents only)

Why Golf Is SO Dangerous!

A few weeks ago, golfer Richard Finch won the Irish Open. Unfortunately, he had to take an unintentional dunk in the river on one of his shots. See, more and more reasons why it's not good to play golf... it's a dangerous, dangerous sport. There could have been rocks, there could have been a duck with it's beak open, he could have caught pneumonia... the hazards are endless.

Stay dry, keep to the 19th hole!

Anita Renfroe presents "DadSense"

Some time ago I posted a link to an Anita Renfroe video called "Momsense". It's a brazilliant piece of work. Apparently she got a lot of Dads asking, "Well how about us? We do stuff too!" So in response to that, she has now created her ode to Dads, "DadSense". I think it's only fitting, what with Daddy's Day coming up this weekend. I'm still wondering when Anita will get around to doing the ode that I am personally looking for, "AdSense" but maybe I should just work on that myself...

BTW, please feel free to click on my many AdSense links and help to support your local work-at-home mom!

Cheering Kids Get Arrested

The Associated Press is reporting that seven people attending a high school graduation ceremony in Rock Hill, South Carolina, were arrested for disorderly conduct. The incident stemmed from the fact that they were CHEERING after student's names were being called out as diplomas were distributed.

Hmm.... that's pretty disorderly. Those kids will probably end up in jail for even more serious misdemeanors such as wearing white shoes after labour day.

What is the world coming to? What are law enforcement authorities coming to? Does the police department of Rock Hill seriously have nothing better to do than to pick on seven kids that are cheering on classmates? Personally, I'd like to thank the Rock Hill PD for ending my blogging drought. I had another period of "bloglessness" whilst I was focusing on another home-business, but once I saw this story, I was back to the blogging world before I knew it. Just like Al Pacino said in the Godfather... "Just when I get out, they pull me back in again!"

You can read more about his horrendous incident as reported by clicking on the link here

The Hawaiian Workout Chair

I think this has GOT to be the funniest piece of exercise equipment I've seen for a long, long time!

Thursday Thought

My new thing - the "Thursday Thought".... For this week's installment:

"Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word??!!"
