A paladin sits down at a bar next to a warlock. The paladin taps the warlock on the shoulder.

"What?," the warlock asks.

"How about you conjure me up something to drink?," replies the paladin.

The warlock looks at the pally incredulously and says, "Man, have you got the wrong guy," and returns to drinking his beer in silence.

The pally, taps the warlock on the shoulder again and says, "Well then, how about you conjure me up something to eat then?".

The warlock, getting a little annoyed now, responds "If I cant conjure you up something to drink, what the HELL makes you think I can conjure you something to eat??.

The warlock goes back to drinking in a huff and sure enough, the pally taps him on the shoulder one more time.

"I'm sorry," he says, "but I thought you could do something for someone other then yourself".

The warlock takes a sip of his beer, turns toward the paladin and smashes the bottle over his head. While he's bleeding on the floor, the warlock says "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you could tank!"

I may have been a bit slow on the quests and new dungeons of Patch 4.3. In fact I have just finished my first run through End Time and boy am I disappointed in the quests rewards :(

But I did get a holy trinket and 2 ret drops.

But what really shocked me was the lore around what End Time was all about. Its all about Nozdormu gone mad and created the infinite dragon flight.

Hmm Deja Vu ... yep I (with a little help from google) predicted this back at the start of patch 4.2!!

Or have I got it all wrong?

Anyway? Why have I only just done this dungeon? I've been making gold of course! Having surpassed 2 million before 4.3 hit I am easily at 2.5 Million now :)

Shameless Copy and Paste of my 2009 guide which was a shameless Copy and Paste of the previous years guide so, on with the show ...

OK, so CHRISTMAS is here and we have the next instalment of the World Events Achievements.

So, what's changed and what do you have to do to complete the Winter Veil Christmas achievements? Well not a lot, Metzen the Reindeer and Stolen Treats seem to have been rolled into the daily quest and everything else is pretty same 'ole same 'ole...

Part I

Get your fat lazy <insert class name> butt to Ironforge.

Pick up quest "The Reason for the Season" from Goli Krumn to left of bank entrance (this is not required for achievement but good XP).

Pick up quest "Santa Claus" aka "Great Father Winter is Here!" from Wulmort Jinglepocket to right of Father Christmas (if you didn't pick up a breadcrumb quest elsewhere).

Also pick up quest "You're a Mean One..." from same dude; this is the new daily in place of Metzen and Stolen Treats quests.

If you don't have some buy a small stack of snowballs.

Part II

Buy Gingerbread Cookie Recipe.
Buy Hot Apple Cider recipe.
Buy Egg Nog recipe.
Buy 10 Holiday spices (You only need 7).
Buy 2 x Holiday Spirits.
Acquire (Alts, Bank,AH) 6 Small eggs.
Buy 2 x milk from Gwenna Firebrew in the Inn to the left of AH.
Make that greedy fat bastard in red 5 Gingerbread Cookies. You only need 1 for the achievment but you may as well complete the quest!
Buy 1 x Sparkling Apple Cider from the girl goblin Macey.
Make 1 x Hot Apple Cider.
Make 1 x Egg Nog.
Achievement Gained: The Winter Veil Gourmet.
Hand in "Great Father Winter is Here!" to St Nick.
Accept and Hand in "Santa's a hungry fuck" aka "Treats For Greatfather Winter" to St Nick.

Part III

Acquire Mistletoe and Snowflakes by kissing the revellers in the Inn every hour.
Buy crafting recipes or get stuff from alt and get Winter Boots(Leatherworker 285) and Green or red Winter Clothes(Tailor 250).
Go defeat Grand Magus Telestra In The Nexus or Mage-Lord Urom In The Occulus for a red or green Winter Hat; Or Drahga Shadowburner in Grim Batol, Lord Godfrey (Shadowfang Heroic), Admiral Ripsnarl(DM Heroic), High Priestess Azil (Stonecore) or Corla (Blackrock Caverns)
Wear all 3 pieces of winter gear and eat Graccu's Mince Meat Fruitcake.
Achievment Gained: 'Tis the Season.

Part IV

Pootle over to the big library place where all the explorers league dudes are.
Hand in "The Reason For The Season" to Historian Karnik and get "The Feast of Winter Veil".
Read the book then go hand the quest into the King.
Once spoken to King throw a snowball at him for Achievement Gained: Scrooge
Go get a flight to Southshore or Chillwind Camp and ride/fly up to Growless Cave in Alterac Mountains where the Yetis and ogres are.
Hand in "Stolen Winter Veil Treats" to snow man near Growless cave and get "You're a Mean One...".
Go find and kill The Abominable Grinch (Level 36 Elite) who spawns in 4 possible locations: [x,x], [x,x], [x,x] or [x,x] and loot the Stolen Treats.
Help Kill The Abominable Grinch (Boss Level Elite) and Metzen will be freed and you'll be able to loot the Stolen Treats from the entrance to Growless cave. Achievement Gained: On Metzen!

Part V

Fly over to Thorium Point in Searing Gorge.
Head to [x,x] in the north east of the zone.
[Alternative: Pirate Camp in Eastern Tanaris].
Open up the bag you were given when you got the quest and use the Pouch of Reindeer Dust on Rudolph. He will Bubble-hearth outa there. Do not destroy Pouch, you need it to hand the quest in.
All of that is now pointless as it's part of the daily

Part VI

(Assuming we now have Mistletoe) Fly to Menthil and boat to Theramore.
Use the mistletoe on Brother Karman by the Training Dummies.
Fly to Nigels Point and use the mistletoe on Brother Anton. He's not there anymore!! Who Killed Anton?
Go to Stranglethorn Vale and use the mistletoe on Brother Nimetz.
Head to Stormwind by whatever means necessary and go snogging the brothers:
Brother Kristoff outside the Cathedral.
Brother Benjamin wandering around in the Cathedral.
Brother Cassius in the first aid area in the north-east of the Cathedral.
Brother Crowley in the north-eastern cellar of the Cathedral.
Brother Joshua by the altar in the Cathedral.
Go to Goldshire and use the mistletoe on Brother Wilhelm by the Forge.
Achievement Gained: Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's.

Part VII

Head back to Ironforge.
Hand in "Metzen the Reindeer". Achievement Gained: On Metzen!.
Hand in "You're a Mean One..." and get and complete "A Smokywood Pastures' Thank You!". Achievement Gained: Simply Abominable.

Part VIII (PvP)

Use the "Wintervolt Changey Thing 8000 outside the gates to the city.
Enter some battlegrounds and get 50 HKs while under the influence of the Wintervolt thingey.
Achievement Gained. With a Little Helper from my Friends.
While in the battlegrounds try to sprinkle the required following race/class combinations, don't worry if you don't get all of them when you get your 50HKs do the rest around Dalaran or Shat later. If your below level 60 - have fun!!!

Part X (Wrath Content)

Go to Dalaran and use a Winter Veil Disguise Kit to become a snowman and dance with another snowman
Achievement Gained: A Frosty Shake.

Part XI (Christmas Day)

Open a present under the Tree. Achievement Gained: He Knows if You've Been Naughty.

Title Achieved: MerryMaker

Part XII non-Meta Achievements

Use a Crashin' Thrashin' Racer to crash 25 times. Achievement Gained: Crashin' & Thrashin'.

Shoot Blaine, Garosh, Sylvanas & Lor'themar with a BB gun. Achievement Gained: BB King.

Use you Gaudy Winter Veil Jumper to sing in the enemy capital cities. Achievement Gained: A-Caroling We Will Go.

The New Looing For Raid Exploit

In case you were wondering what this exploit was but keep getting "This post has been deleted" in the official forums here is an explanation I saw before it was deleted.

I am putting it up here so Blizz have to stop deleting posts and get on with fixing it quick otherwise it's going to be a complete farce of a race to world first Deathwing HC kill.

"When you run a full 25man LFR with your guild and you kill those 4 bosses the looting for your guild is over for that week from that LFR , not really...!
The trick is you swap out some people 1 cloth, 1 leather, 1 mail, 1 plate ( Alt chars, or other members )

Than you go again in the LFR and those people who just came in the raid can see every loot, so they loot everything, than they can trade it to those people who were and done the LFR once.
So you can FARM the LFR until your guild got no more Alt/members who can jump in for the loot.

I have seen certain members with several Raid Finder gear... from the same boss.

I hope Blizzard doesn't turn their head away from this and say they didn't see/know it was happening"

Patch 4.3 - Day #2 Report

In 2 days I've made 50,000 gold from Jewelcrafting and bugger all from inscription.

JC posting was easy with the 5.13 Beat version of Auctioneer but glyph posting just wasn't happening.

In the end I got the latest TSM installed and working and the glyphs posted. We'll see the results of that tomorrow.

Nearly run out of gems to sell though, I reckon by the end of tomorrow I will have zero rubies in stock.

Maybe I won't post in anticipation of a further spike when other sellers run out of gems too.

Void Storage is Practically Useless (read: CRAP)

So it turns out that out that you won't be moving a whole helluva lot from your bank to the void storage unit.

Why? Because you can't put "Unique" items in it.

Now, I don't know about you but most of the stuff I want to put into void storage not only meets the criteria set out by BlizzTards:

"...isn't to be a second bank, but rather a place where players can safely store items they wish to keep for the life of the game, either for sentimental or aesthetic reasons..."

But also the exclusion criteria of being "Unique"

To me that means tabards (which I'm collecting) - BUT MOST ARE UNIQUE - so won't go into void storage.

And also all kinds of world event items like pilgrims clothes etc - BUT MOST ARE UNIQUE - so won't go into void storage.

And also many different quest rewards from Vanilla and TBC - BUT MOST ARE UNIQUE - so won't go into void storage.

I guess it's because if it's in void storage it's not allocated to your character so you could potentially loot another item, hence the reason for stripping off all identifying characteristics.

But it must still be held by an item id in the bank and therefore is only a quick scan of an 80 odd element array of item IDs when doing a look up of equipped items, bag items and bank items when looting an item, surely?

What kind of crack were BlizzTards smoking when they implemented this?

They have taken a great idea and turned it into a steaming pile of dog Shite. Fucking imbeciles.

This was gonna be a comment on Critical's Apology Post about his Gold Queen: Are We Being Played? Post, but got so long I thought I'd post on my blog.

Critical, I can't believe you apologised. I can read English. I can understand that you were not addressing the rape suggestions, but rather the commercialisation of it subsequently by third parties.

Did all these critical-bashing band-wagon jumpers even read the original post?

I, like you, wish I could find the other 4 rapists and deal with them in whatever way possible and in no way want to trivialise or deny the rape happened.

I can't imagine the hell and anguish that the victim is going through and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

But I can see that your post was questioning the caretakers actions whilst the victim was in hospital.

I have seen not one shred of proof in any of the comments or posts that definatively ties TGQ to the poor poor victim or not; and just because you're wearing a tinfoil hat does not mean to say there are no conspirators out there.

Was it even the TGQ making the original RL post?

How many 'British' women use a 'cell' phone? None that I know?

When did it happen? The linked news site says 27 October but the post on 7th November says last week; either way there were 2 normal posts dated 1st and 2nd when TGQ was supposedly in hospital.

Maybe marcko1 was caught out by the real TGQ making her RL post on 7th.

I'd heard that due to phasing you couldn't get the bucket in Westfall. If this was true then it has now been fixed. The Hallows End bucket is located in the tower.

Good Luck, I'm not going to re-hash My Hallow's End Guide this year, it's pretty similar, bar the inn keepers don't give treats but an inanimate pumkin does, and QQs win again and the PvP section is 10HK rather than 50 HK.

Worth a read, it's funny. Go On.

I'm on holiday for a fortnight and had planned on queueing up a post a day from my backlog of images that are not post-date dependant.

I didn't. So all you get is this post and any that I put up from the wifi cafe on the west coast of France.

On the upside it's bloody hot and the kids are loving it!!

I was hoping that I would be able to login to WoW from my laptop. I copied the entire WoW directory onto a USB hard drive and plugged it into the lappy. When I ran the launcher without a wifi signal it wouldn't even open.

Once a signal was acquired I ran wow.exe and it gets to the login screen but says unable to connect. Maybe the wifi cafe has a block on the proxy or something. Fuckers!

The Moonwell Chalice again is a 6ilevel side grade - slight intelect increase and mastery instead of spirit on use. I'll take this as I don't hae mana problems.
Moonwell Phial - is a big tank upgrade from blue-346 Throngus's Finger(HC)

And I am tempted to replace the Elementium Stormshield with Globe of Moonlight. But just as I won't wear cloth, leather or mail; I must have a shield at end-game!

Firelands Finished ... Nearly and Odd Client Patch.

I shot past the 125 marks of the world tree yesterday and was able to open up the final vendor and finish the quest line.

I shan't bother with another picture of the tree as it hasn't changed. But once I'd finished the moonwell was full and Leyara was dead.

And Now For Something Completely Different
So now that I have finished that grind what next?

More Firelands Dailies until I get Flashfire and Singeslayer for the Death From Above achievement and Charscale, Behemoth and Harbinger for the Ready For Raiding II achievement. The amrks won't get wasted as I'll spend them on Gilneas Rep commendations.

Then I'll start on my Tol Barad dailies and hopefully finish off Pebbles soon.

Client Patch on non-patch Day?
Also last night at around 19:00 server time I got booted from WoW and when I got back on I had to download a patch. WTF is all that about?

Not in my memory has that ever happened. Patches have only ever occured after a maintenance, not the day before ... It must have been some serious exploit fix.

Two or more Death From Above Bosses
So after this wierd client patch download (which incidently happened just as my brpadband speed drops to 100K. Thanks Blizztards!) I went off to finish my dailies and whilst on Death From Above - or whatever the quest is for this achievement - Ragepyre and Hatespark are both up (apparently there were 3 bosses up) and also today there are 3 bosses up; unfortunately I didn't get that daily :(

I thought there was only one boss per day :S

Once I had purchased my gear from the 2nd Firelands vendor it took me some time to getting round to enchanting, gemming, reforging and actually putting the pieces into item sets.

Well actually I am still doing it, but I put them in the item sets and sold the replaced pieces.

I am still wearing quite a few blue ilevel 346 items but it was these I had to delete...

47 Exalted Reputations - Darkmoon Faire - Check!

The Darkmoon Faire rolled into town yesterday morning so I sent all my darkmoon cards to HolyWarrior to hand in to the Darkmoon Faire whatsit bloke.

I only had about 6-7K rep to go so I started with 200 rogues card hand ins and then moved onto the Cataclysm cards.

Considering DMF rep is pretty hard/expensive to get I was surpised at the lack of fanfare.

I handed all the cards in and wondered if I'd hit exalted, only when I scrolled back and realised I'd stop getting rep was I sure I had done it...

My Firelands Tree Ain't Growing

Last Night I completed the 2nd Firelands vendor quest with another 125 marks.

Still following Icy veins quide I opened up the Additional Armaments quest which leads to another daily worth 2 marks a day. This makes for a total of 31 marks a day.

Anyway, this opens up the blacksmith recipes and some more gear. I'll report on them tomorrow.

I am quite disappointed, I thought that the Sentinel Tree was going to get bigger and bigger as you progressed. OK. It's changed twice. I was thinking at every way-point, maybe even daily. But NO.

Well, well. Check out the usual Firelands Progress post for details (scroll down to the buttom).

But in short managed to kill a Molten Behmoth thingy without getting hit by stomp or rocks and got me the Flawless Victory achievement as well as waiting around for fucking ages for the respawn to get the last dude I needed for Fiery Lords of Shitehawks Roost.

More Fireland Daily and Achievement Cheats

If your doing the Druids of the Talon quests then the first quest "Into the Fire" can jusy about be skipped. Wait until someone starts the event. Mount up. Run through fire to pyrelord boss.

I also found that when doing the Master of the Molten Flow achievement you don't actually have to be in a party to get the Sentinel carrying party member bit. I don't know how I did it, I just attacked a previously tagged Sentinel.

Which helped greatly in getting this on my 2nd ever day of Talon dailies without ever joining a group (see progress post).

Also I don't think you can do "Fire in the Skies" on the first day. The quest giver gave me the egg quest yesterday and the text of the quest seems to suggest a continuation of that quest. ie the egg has hatched.

Anyway, so if you fall off one of the rock stepping stones, don't worry ...

And finally I got Hatepsark done for Death From Above and Ancient Firelord for Ready For Raiding II :))

Opening Up Firelands Vendors

So has the tree grown? It looks about the same to me!

Yesterday I got the first 125 marks required to open up a vendor.

Looks like I'd been missing out on a mark a day for the last 5 days by not unlocking Tholo's daily as soon as I was able to. Oops.

So anyway, I followed the advice on Icy Veins to open up the ancients first. Even though I want the plate vendor.

Opening up the ancients first though enables even more marks / day. Or is that just a larger time sink/day? :P

Hardly matters really, I missed the price gouging by being too slow anyway!

So I unlocked the Ancients and did the Strike at the Heart daily getting the 'Cinderweb Queen' part of the Ready for Raiding II achievment along the way as well as finally finishing the Fireside Chat achievement (see progress post).

So what is unlocked by this vendor? No recipes. But some rather nice armour pieces, a pet and a money sink...

Spirit Fragment Band - Intelect ring.
Lylagar Horn Ring - Tanking ring.
Relic of Tortolla - Tanking relic.
Aviana's Grips - Leather agility gloves.
Hyjal Bear Cub - Pet
Nemesis Shell Band - Tanking ring.
Relic of Lo'Gosh - Melee DPS relic?
Lancer's Greaves - Hunter Loot :P
Dwyer's Caber - Melee Trinket (apparently)
Mylune's Call - Pointless money sink.

So what am I going to buy? Just about everything ...
