Yeah I know it’s been a while but the grains have been consolidating for a while. I guess they are trying to figure out where to go.

I thought there was enough volatility to give the grains a quicker rebound but I did say that they probably wouldn’t go any lower in my last post. But with the time that has passed, we will need to re-evaluate the situation find out when the assumed rally will happen.

Chicago wheat futures indicators are

really looking good.

The short term indicators aren’t that strong so it may still be a little while before wheat breaks out but the momentum seems to be building and I would watch it close because it may be worth buying a call option now, or at least really soon.

Corn futures are looking good also. In the next day or two would probably be a good time to buy a call option. Corn should hit support and hopefully move up quick, but it should move up soon anyhow.

Oat futures are always the lagger, but I guess that’s what makes them interesting. They’re harder to figure out. But they appear ready to bounce up to me.

Soybean futures price action looks good. They could make a drop down to support, but the indicators are showing a strong move to the upside soon, just like all the other grains are showing.

Rough Rice futures made a scary and unexpected drop but that’s why you keep your stops placed or buy opposing options. Rice has been pretty volatile anyway but the indicators are moving up for rice and I don’t expect it to go any lower than support right now.

The markets are hitting some resistance now and some of them have already started bouncing back as we speak, so it’s not a secret that the grain markets could bounce up some after this steep drop.

A further drop in the grains is not a big worry right now so if you have been shorting the grains, I would cover you positions or keep a tight stop, or buy some call options.

I’ll have more info next week when I have had a little more time to watch the markets, since I have been off for a while.

The grain commodity futures have been behaving pretty much as I expected but still keep your stops placed and watch them close.

Wheat futures have dropped some 30+ ¢ in the last two weeks. Wheat is hovering around support so watch them close.

Corn futures bounced up some in the previous week but stalled and started falling last week but are still a few cents higher than they were two weeks ago. Watch it closely.

Oat futures also rebounded a little in the previous week after a long move down but remained pretty much flat last week. Oats are 2 or 3¢ higher than they were two weeks ago but and aren’t showing much strength.

Soybean futures bounced up early last week but quickly dropped again and are some 30+ ¢ lower than they were two weeks ago. Soybeans aren’t showing much strength but watch them close.

Rough rice futures made a good correction like I thought they would. Rice did bounce up at the first of last week but quickly dropped and now is some .770¢ lower than they were two weeks ago. Just keep your stops placed.

It seems like support has held the grains back for now. Corn, rice and soybean futures bounced up some off support but wheat futures and oat futures haven’t shown much strength. If the jump up in corn and soybean futures starts to fall apart, it could be a good point to short and we could see the move down I was mentioning, since the indicators are moving lower.

Just watch close and if the grain prices break support, we should see a move down toward the next support point.
