On 24th April 2012, His Excellency Rt. Honourable Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, The President of Nepal welcomed Apa Sherpa and his team members in his office in Sheetal Niwas. The Great Himalaya Trail -Climate Smart Trek (GHT-CSCT) which was led by Apa Sherpa and his team has concluded in Darchula district of Far Western Nepal today. The trek began in the Ghunsa, Taplejung in far eastern Nepal on the 24th of January 2012 and ended in Darchula, the far western district of country on the 20th of April 2012. In this occasion Nepal Amateur Athletics Association has decided to organize a running event “Nepal-German Friendship Race 2012″ on Thursday, 26th January 2012, in cooperation with ReiseZeit, Germany. In Taplejung they were felicilated by Mr.Dev Raj Dhakal (CDO), Mr. Prem Kumar Khadka (LDO), Mr. Bhuwan Devkota ( Major General, Nepal Army), Hemant Upreti ( Nepal Airlines, Station Manager), Leela Bokhim ( NGO Federation Nepal) and Mr. Harish Chandra Chilwal ( GHTDP District Coordinator). During the programme, Mr.Chilwal also gave a presentation on GHTDP-SNV activities in Taplejung.
