Sure we know that the holidays are a few months away, but as the weather gets colder, the leaves start to fall, and the kids go back to school, we start to look ahead to the holiday season. Some of us dread it and some of us have been on the lookout for the perfect gift for their loved ones since last December.

Some people on our list are easy to buy for then there are some that no matter how hard you try, we never seem to find the right gift for them. So what do we do? Buy the ever popular gift card, the people pleaser.

May I make a suggestion this year. Go out on a limb and try a handmade recycled handbag. These bags come in all different sizes, colors, and price ranges. You can find them in specialty stores and on the web. They are made out of all different types of materials such as, candy wrappers, juice pouches, magazines, seat belts, billboards, sails, rice sacks, plastic bags, tires and numerous other items. All are made out of recycled items either never used or items that have been used and come back to life in the form of a fashionable and good for the earth accessory.

It takes a special recipient to receive one of these for a gift. Maybe you know someone with one or more of these traits. Do you know someone who is an eco-conscious fashionista? Does she love attention? (It is virtually certain when carrying a recycled bag, she will receive compliments) Is she young or old? (All ages love these bags) Is she socially conscious? (Many recycled handbags are considered fair trade items) Does she love color? ( Most of these bags are made out of colorful wrappers, snack bags and pouches) Does she carry a different handbag for everyday of the week? ( Well maybe not EVERYDAY, but she has lots!)

I don’t know too many women that don’t have at least one of these traits.

So try it this year and while your at it, get one for yourself, because who doesn’t spend a little on herself when holiday shopping. Remember you are doing our planet good when you give the gift of a green handbag this coming holiday season

Some of you recycling eco-conscious fashionistas that have heard of Nahui Ollin handbags may know that these colorful bags come in all different colors and styles.

We at thehandbagcloset.com want to offer our customers the widest variety on the web. Being a small customer orientated web-based business, we are not able to carry every style in every color in stock.

This is why when you look at one of out Nahui Ollin items you will see usually ships within 1-2 weeks. When you order any of our handbags we will notify you if we need to order you item(s). Generally most items we can get from the company within 4 business days.

Small items we ship out USPS first class mail or parcel post. Larger bags are shipped USPS priority mail.

In a few cases an item may be on back order from Nahui Ollin and may take longer to come in.

Communication is key with our customers and we always welcome any questions and concerns.

Funny because remember the days when anything you ordered through a catalog or over the phone usually took 4-6 weeks for delivery

This being my first post I'd just like to share my goal of this blog to you, my customers and anyone else who may have found themselves here. We love fashion, particulary eco-fashion and handbags especially. So the goal of this blog is to share some information and opinions on eco-friendly fashion and maybe a few other little tidbits along the way.

A little bit about myself. I'm a Mom who happens to have a small web-based business, plus I work outside the home. I have always loved fashion. I think what you put on your body can say much about a person. The messages we send to people with what we wear can be powerful. Are you a jeans and t-shirt person? Do you go around everyday wearing sweats? Or do you always leave the house looking stylish and up to date? The same can be said about the accessories we choose to wear. I personally love purses and shoes. I would change my handbag everyday of the week if I could. Handbags are the perfect accessory because they can make a statement about yourself, but you don't have to worry about fit or a size number. To me they are the perfect way to tell people who you are without saying a word. So next time you are in a place with lots of people walking past, my favorite would be an outdoor cafe, just take a little time to people watch. Can you tell what someone does for a living just by what they wear? Think about the message people are sending by what they have on. It's fun!

I'd like to say a big welcome to my blog. I hope you can have a little fun here with me and maybe we can all learn a few things!
