This year we went to St. Louis for Christmas!

The kids had so much fun, especially since they got to see Aunt Rachel!

She is the favorite person!! :-)

Avery got a 4-wheeler!

Ethan got gears that he can put together and they light up!

Madison got a Nintendo DSi!

(Ethan had gotten his DSi for his birthday so he would have it for the trip to St. Louis!)

Ethan did it...

he went ahead and turned 5!

He was always in the higher percentiles but definitly not anymore!

Painting!

I decided to get all crazy and buy halloween decorations and paint

for a little craft time for the kids.

They had a blast and there wasn't much of a mess.

They might get lucky and get to do it again. :-)

After everything was all dry we hung them up on the wall,

they LOVE them and are so proud of their artwork!!

Avery didn't get to paint this time...

but I still have to add this cute picture of her.

Pumpkin Patch

This year we decided to get a season pass to a local pumpkin patch,

so far we have only been once and I just took the big kids

Hopefully next time Layfe and Avery will come along.

Anyways, this place is way fun!!

There are tons of animals to pet/ feed and a huge play area,

along with a hay ride to the pumkin area.

Madison's little accident...

On Saturday

we were meeting Layfe's parents at Kohls,

and Maddie had tripped on something in the van,

and fell straight on her head in the parking lot.

Blood was everywhere,

it was covering her face and my hands.

I was shocked at how small the gash in her head was

after I had cleaned it up!!

Madison didn't cry AT ALL,

and had a normal conversation with the

paramedics that came.

(several people called 911)

Her wound was really deep

so we took her to the ER to get stitches.

Waiting with numbing cream on her head.

She didn't cry during the entire process,

she was absolutely perfect!
The doctors and nurses kept commenting on that.

She laid still while getting the stitches

and didnt even seem scared at all!

When they were done she got

2 popcicles,

578423 stickers,

a teddy bear,

a coloring book,

and a water gun

(the massive syringe they use to squirt

water into the wound to clean it)

After we got home...

With the bandaid off...

3 stitches

I'm so proud of my brave little girl!

Ethan's in School!

Ethan is in school!

He started back in August,

and he absolutely LOVES IT!

It's definitely his thing!

Renaissance Festival

For my birthday this year we went to the

Renaissance Festival!

I don't know why,

but I have wanted to go for the past few years

but we never made it!

Anyways, we went, had a good time,

and never need to go back again! :-)

(I didn't really like the people that work

there coming up to us and talking weird

and scaring the heck out of the kids)

Ethan wanted to do this ride..

it's a swing that is pushed by people.

By people I mean a really weird crazy guy.

(I guess thats what you have to be to work there?)

A good spot for pictures!

This was a cute little area for kids to play,

and there were also free kids crafts in there

which they LOVED!!

We got a HUGE turkey leg,

it was super yummy and filled all of us up!!

I think Avery ate the most, she kept begging for more! :-)

We also watched a jausting thing that was fun,

I forgot to take pictures of it though.

And that was our day! :-)

Vacation

We went on a mini vacation from the 7th-9th to Branson

and we stayed at Big Cedar, which was AMAZING!

I didn't get many photos because I was too busy

enjoying myself!

I love vacations without the stress of remembering

to take pictures,

but then I always regret it when I get home

and don't have many.

Anyways, here are some pictures I got with my phone.

(sorry for the bad quality!)

We took a nice long walk after lunch one day,

and we found a cute little bridge with a gorgous waterfall!

We also found a mini golf course and played!

You go inside of this HUGE fish to play the last hole!

Ethan and Madison LOVED it!

Avery kept going inside this cabinet,

they were empty so she would put her

bottle or pacifier in it and play!

On our way home we stopped to eat at Lambert's!

It was super yummy!!

Ethan LOVED trying to catch the rolls they throw!

I took this picture of my mother-in-law

after she had eatten about half of her meal.

Those servings were MASSIVE!

I got chicken and dumplings, fried apples, and mashed potatoes.

YUM!!

Growing Up Fast!

So, Madison and Avery both have had their yearly check ups

and they're getting big!

FAST!

But, not too fast!

Madison 3 year old-

Height- 36.5 inches (25%)

Weight- 34 pounds (50%)

Avery 1 year old-

Height- 29 inches (50%)

Weight- 24 pounds (90%)

----------------------

They're definitely slowing down in their growth,

Madison had always been in the

90th percentile

and so had Avery.

At least Avery is still my little

chunky baby,

because really...

who doesn't love to cuddle with

a chunky baby?!?

Avery is 1!

Happy Birthday to my baby Avery!

Wow, that first year flew by!

(Even though I thought those first few months

of sleepless nights would never end!)

This is how Avery spent her birthday party!

Sweet girl was exhausted!

Thats what I get for planning a party

during nap time, I suppose.

Averys favorite things are:

-Sneaking up the stairs.

-Playing with Ethan and Madison.

-Swinging.

-Food: She loves just about

everything she has tried,

but I think her favorites are

applesauce and yogurt.

Avery is such a big girl!

She started walking about 3 weeks ago,

she was so cautious and made sure she

had everything perfected before she

would walk on her own! :-)

Wow, it has been 2 months since I have updated! We have been so busy around here!

I have taken ZERO photos this summer, partially because Im super lame, and partially because I have wanted to de-stress! I get so stressed trying to get pictures of my kids because they NEVER cooperate with me. Now that it has been two months I think I will pull the camera back out!.

So, what we have been up to....

-We have been camping at Mark Twain Lake twice this summer.

-St. Louis.

-Silver Dollar City!!

-Lots of pool time!

...and thats about all!

I have gotten way far behind on my photo of the day,

so I have decided to call it quits.

It was fun for a while,

but then became just plain stressful,

so better to quit than to be over stressed because I forgot to update,

and neglect my kids for hours while I try to catch up.

Anyways,

I will try to go back to my normal blogging habits

when we get less busy around here.

For now we're going to enjoy this warm weather

and play outside lots!
