Last week, I wrote about pink bathrooms of the 1950's. This week, I'd like to fast forward about 20 years to the faucets of the disco era. Normally I'm not a gold type of person (all of my jewelry including my engagement ring is silver) but I do like the Vibrante Moderne Gold finish from Kohler. The company describes it as more "honey" colored than the lighter hues of the 1970's and it's a nice change of pace from the cold chrome and nickel that has been so popular in the last decade. The finish is available in brushed and polished options. If you like the finish, learn how to switch out your bathroom faucet.

Small space living is all about being neat and organized. The less stuff you have strewn about, the larger your house, apartment or room will look and feel. And while I'm pretty good at keeping my home tidy—I can't leave the house in the morning unless my bed is made, I can't go to sleep at night until all of the day's dishes are put away, and never rarely do I ever leave clothes laying around—there is one space in my place that always seems to be cluttered, no matter how often I clean it up.

Gardeners, I know how your favorite past-time can wreak havoc on your hands (ok, ok, I don't know first-hand, but I've heard). For those of your looking for a hydrating lotion, might I suggest one of Save Your Skin's line of all-natural lotions? Made from the some of the same ingredients you might be planting (cucumber and carrot extracts, for example), the lotions use aloe vera to hydrate and yerba mate to infuse vitamins, minerals and antioxidants into your skin. And shea butter will soothe your sunburn those times you get carried away in your vegetable patch. Happy gardening!

I've been a big fan of painter, designer and textile maven Madeline Weinrib for as long as I can remember. I love her fabrics, her carpets, and her upholstered furniture. The patterns are fresh. The designs are built to last. But here's the thing, my pockets aren't deep enough to afford her creations. One of her 6x9-foot rugs, for example, can cost up to $2,000, and the prices of her furniture pieces are even more. But what gets to me that most is that her beautiful fabrics, like the awesome Blue Luce Ikat pattern I've recently been lusting after (above), are only available to the trade. So, there goes my plan of convincing my parents to foot the bill for said fabric so I can reupholster a slipper chair I picked up at a flea market the other day. What's a girl to do?

I don’t know if it’s a habit carried over from the jobsite, but my dad has between five and ten transistor radios scattered around the house and in the backyard at any given time. One in the shed, one by the pool, two (at least) in the basement workshop, and, of course, the waterproof model hanging in the upstairs bath. He’s hopelessly addicted, which is why I think these Duluth Trading Co. QuieTunes AM/FM Radio Earmuffs are a doubly good idea - they would satisfy his audio habit while protecting what's left of his hearing.

A typical day at work in my store usually has me introducing a product to a customer for the first time to solve this problem or that. Every once in a while though, the roles are reversed and one of my customers will present me with a product that in their opinion should be stocked in my store. Now, I like to think that my store has everything and that when presented with a “new” product that there is already a reasonable facsimile of said product that can be found in my shop. Sometimes though this is not the case. Recently one of my regulars presented me with a bottle of magic potion that can seemingly get anything off your skin. After testing it I knew I had to have some, and you will (and should) feel the same way. Presenting: Removeez.

Let's get literal. I'll go with some Q-tip paper for the bathroom and and a cheese cracker motif for the kitchen. I'd like bunches of freshly sharpened pencils for the study and crumbly grape wafer cookies for the kids' room. Impossible you say? No longer! Your great-aunt Bess may not be a fan, but these digitally printed wallpaper designs by Soy Este make kitsch chic, and promise to transform any accent wall (or an entire room for the aesthetically fearless among you) into a work of art.
