I had a sudden moment of clarity where I realized the people on screen were performing. As a kid, I was total “monkey see, monkey do”—I wanted to be just like them and be the star of the show. At that age, money didn’t even register to me; I just wanted the spotlight.

I was completely wrong. When my skills were actually tested, I learned that acting is a profound science that demands rigorous study. There is a massive difference between simply telling a story and truly acting. Today, my passion for the craft is stronger than ever because acting forces me to study humanity and, in turn, understand myself. It has become a powerful vehicle for my mental and spiritual growth. I rely heavily on lived experiences and focus entirely on embodying the spirit of the character I am blessed to play. After more than 20 years in front of the camera doing short films, music videos, and vignettes, my passion is still dialed to 1,000.

My parents were actually the first to encourage me and discourage me at the same time. They were promoting education above everything else, and I get it—it’s the old, secure “safety blanket” method. Unfortunately, I wasn’t fond of regular living. I’ve always been a “jump out there, dive right in” kind of guy. I had a vision of extra-special living on an extra-special budget. I find joy in whatever I create inside of me; I own it completely. Everyone has a specific talent or authenticity that is solely theirs—most people just need to tap into it. If I entertain any doubt, it’s my own, and I am responsible for fixing it. I don’t struggle with the specifics; I just get to work. I live for myself first, and anyone else is welcome to come along for the ride. The haters and the naysayers are necessary motivators—you can’t have up without down, or night without day. When people tell me I’m investing too much for too long in this arena, I just stay true to myself. I love what I do. Whatever spirit is provoking negativity or trying to taper my growth won’t get a response from me. If a vibe isn’t healthy, positive, or encouraging, I treat it like a strict diet: I cut it out and move on to the next thing. Naysayers are just a necessary part of the process.

Boston-born, Atlanta-based singer, songwriter, and social activist Darrell Kelley has released his newest single, “ICE Cold Killerz,” out now via Viral Records and available on all major streaming platforms. The four-minute track marks the latest chapter in Kelley’s growing body of socially conscious, message-driven music.

“ICE Cold Killerz” arrived before a broader surge of artist activism around immigration enforcement and ICE. In the weeks following its release, Bruce Springsteen unveiled his own anti-ICE protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” written and released in direct response to recent state violence and fatal incidents involving federal agents in Minneapolis. Shortly after, the 2026 Grammy Awards became a flashpoint, with stars including Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Olivia Dean, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kehlani, and Joni Mitchell using the stage and the red carpet to condemn ICE, dedicate awards to immigrants, and don “ICE Out” pins in solidarity.

Within that rapidly intensifying conversation, “ICE Cold Killerz” stands as an early and urgent entry—continuing Darrell Kelley’s established role as an artist who confronts injustice head-on through a blend of hip-hop, R&B, and modern protest music, reinforcing his reputation for pairing strong grooves with even stronger messages.

The new single is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, and other major streaming services under the Viral Records banner. To accompany the audio, Darrell Kelley has also released an official music video for “ICE Cold Killerz” on YouTube, giving visual impact to the song and making it easily accessible to fans discovering the track via video platforms.

With “ICE Cold Killerz,” Darrell Kelley once again positions himself at the intersection of music and movement—dropping a track that landed before the latest wave of high-profile protest songs and awards-show speeches, and helping set the tone for a year in which artists are refusing to stay silent.

Darrell Kelley Amplifies Survivor Voices in Soulful New R&B Single “How Dare You Ignore Their Cries?”

Darrell Kelley, Recording artist and social activist, has officially released his latest R&B single, “How Dare You Ignore Their Cries?”, now available across all major streaming platforms via Viral Records. This powerful track isn’t just a showcase of Kelley’s soulful vocal range; it is a profound call for accountability and transparency in the face of institutional failure.

Based in Atlanta, but born in Boston, Darrell Kelley has long been recognized as more than just a performer. He is a spiritual leader, author, and entrepreneur who views his music as a vital tool for advocacy. His career is defined by a commitment to justice, understanding, and unity, often tackling heavy social issues that others might shy away from. Previous releases like “Violence and Hate” have established him as an artist who uses his platform to challenge the status quo.

“How Dare You Ignore Their Cries?” serves as a direct response to the public outrage surrounding the Epstein Files. Kelley addresses the deep-seated belief that true justice has yet to be served for the survivors. The song’s message-forward approach centers on survivor advocacy, demanding that their stories be heard rather than buried under institutional layers. By blending R&B sensibilities with hard-hitting social commentary, Kelley creates a listening experience that is both emotionally resonant and intellectually provocative.

“Viral Records is proud to support artists who use their voice for more than entertainment,” stated a spokesperson for the label. “This release is a direct appeal for accountability—a reminder that victims’ stories deserve to be fully heard.”

Darrell Kelley continues to prove that music is most potent when it serves a purpose. As “How Dare You Ignore Their Cries?” echoes through the airwaves, it stands as a testament to the power of artistic defiance. In a world that often chooses silence, Kelley’s voice remains a lighthouse for those seeking truth and an unwavering demand for justice that cannot be ignored.

Released in October 2020, “Art of the Bleed” opens with a deceptive stillness before the weight of it settles in. Shannon Denise Evans, the creative force behind SAVARRE, wrote this song believing she understood what it meant. She’s since admitted it turned out to be something bigger than she first realized. A forecast of her own transformation, the painful, unglamorous process of shedding who you were told to be in order to find who you actually are. That honesty bleeds into every bar.

Guitar, bass, and drums anchor the arrangement with enough restraint to let Evans’ vocals do the heavy lifting. The production, handled by Alex Venguer alongside Evans and Dylan Glatthorn, is layered. There’s a cinematic quality to it that serves the emotional arc of the song. Glatthorn’s Rhodes and synth work add texture beneath the surface, and Andy Rinn Martinek’s synth programming gives the track a subtle unease that never quite resolves, intentionally so.
Evans’ vocal performance is the centerpiece. She moves from measured and almost conversational in the verses to visceral and raw in the bridge. The repeated “make me bleed” isn’t a shock tactic, it’s a release. Additional vocal production by Andrea Green adds further depth to the layering without crowding the lead.

They use lyrics structurally. “Give the feast to the wolves you feed” lands differently on each listen. It’s about self-betrayal, about the cost of maintaining relationships or identities that drain you. “Born through pain comes second sight” is similarly understated but pointed.

Evans has described the song as being about grief, death, rebirth. And the arrangement honors that progression. The song sits in the grey, as the lyrics themselves suggest: Step on into the grey at least. That willingness to stay in discomfort is what separates “Art of the Bleed” from a lot of its contemporaries.

It’s worth noting who Evans is outside the studio. An award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, and playwright, she brings a storyteller’s precision to her songwriting that shows in the structure of this track. Nothing is accidental. The song unfolds with narrative logic, moving through stages the way a well-constructed script does: setup, escalation, breaking point, aftermath.

“Art of the Bleed” has been recognized in a wide range of music and entertainment outlets, including USA Wire, Vents, Berliner FM, and California Weekly, among others. The attention is well-placed. The track holds up on repeated listens, revealing new details each time. A quality that speaks to the care put into both the writing and the production.

Songs about transformation are everywhere. Most of them romanticize it. What Evans gets right here is the mess of it. The loss, the people who leave, the parts of yourself you grieve before you grow. She doesn’t clean it up. The “art” in the title isn’t ironic. It’s the acknowledgment that there’s a craft to surviving your own becoming, that the process itself requires something of you.

That’s a harder thing to write than it sounds. And harder still to perform with conviction. Evans pulls both off.

If you haven’t yet spent time with SAVARRE, “Art of the Bleed” is a strong place to start. But don’t stop there. The full Blood EP carries the same emotional intelligence across its tracks, and Evans continues to develop a body of work that rewards genuine attention.

Blizm Delivers Authentic Energy and Executive Vision on The Dangerous Unc

In an era where independence and ownership define success in Hip-hop, Blizm stands out as an artist who understands both the creative and business sides of the culture. The Atlanta-based Rapper, Entrepreneur, and Media Executive has officially released his newest project, “The Dangerous Unc.” The album is a bold statement that reinforces his reputation as a multifaceted force in today’s music industry.

Originally hailing from Panama City, Florida, Blizm’s story is rooted in perseverance, ambition, and self-determination. His early experiences shapes a perspective that would later become central to his music — real narratives about growth, loyalty, survival, and elevation. After relocating to Atlanta, one of the most influential cities in modern Hip-hop, he immersed himself in a thriving creative environment that helped sharpen his sound and expand his network. Today, he is recognized not only for his music, but also for his leadership within the independent entertainment space.

Blizm’s entrepreneurial impact is undeniable. As the owner of K-100 Radio and Chainless Entertainment, he has built platforms designed to empower artists, amplify voices, and create meaningful opportunities in a competitive industry. His approach reflects a larger philosophy: artists should not only create culture but also control the infrastructure that distributes and monetizes it. Through media programming, artist development initiatives, and strategic collaborations, Blizm continues to play a significant role in shaping the independent music ecosystem.

The Birth of “The Dangerous Unc”

His latest release, “The Dangerous Unc” captures the essence of his journey. The project blends gritty Southern production with introspective storytelling and confident delivery. Each record carries a sense of authority — the perspective of someone who has navigated challenges and emerged with clarity and purpose. Sonically, the album balances hard-hitting street anthems with reflective moments that reveal deeper layers of Blizm’s personality and experiences.

The title itself symbolizes maturity and earned respect. “Unc” represents the seasoned figure, who has seen enough to move strategically, while still maintaining an undeniable presence. Fans will notice how the project’s themes revolve around legacy building, personal accountability, and maintaining authenticity. This combination of substance and style positions “The Dangerous Unc” as more than just a collection of songs — it’s a declaration of identity and intent.

Beyond streaming success, the release also signals Blizm’s continued evolution as a brand. With an expanding digital footprint and increasing recognition across media channels, he is strategically aligning music releases with broader business initiatives. This forward-thinking mindset allows him to remain relevant while staying true to his roots and community.

As Hip-hop continues to evolve globally, artists like Blizm, prove that independence, consistency, and entrepreneurial vision are essential ingredients for longevity. “The Dangerous Unc” stands as a testament to his dedication, growth, and commitment to inspiring the next generation of creators. With momentum on his side and a clear direction, Blizm is already set to leave an enduring mark on both music and media.

Boston-born, Atlanta-based Artist confronts gun violence with a soulful, socially-conscious anthem

Boston-born, Atlanta-based singer, songwriter, and social activist, Darrell Kelley, has released his latest single, “Sick of This,” available on Viral Records and all major streaming platforms. The track adds a poignant new chapter to Kelley’s growing catalog of message-driven music.

Blending Hip-hop, R&B, and conscious soul, “Sick of This” continues Kelley’s long-running focus on social justice and community uplift. The song speaks directly to the cycles of gun violence in marginalized communities, calling on listeners to put the weapons down, honor their heritage, and “start spreading love” instead of hate or animosity.

Musically, “Sick of This” has been praised for its atmospheric yet accessible production, balancing a steady, danceable beat with strings, piano, and rich vocal harmonies that keep the song rooted in soulful, reflective territory. The track channels the legacy of socially-aware icons such as Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, pairing a contemporary groove with a clear, urgent message about responsibility, empathy, and community healing.

The single is already gaining traction across platforms: “Sick of This” is featured on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other major services.

With “Sick of This,” Darrell Kelley reaffirms his role as a voice for conscious, activist-minded music—delivering a track that is meant as much for reflection as it is for repeat plays.

STARZ has confirmed production is underway on the new “Power” prequel series, “Power: Origins,” the origin story of fan-favorite characters Ghost, Tommy and Kanan as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, and confirmed several additional cast members will join the previously announced Spence Moore (Ghost), Charlie Mann (Tommy) and MeKai Curtis (Kanan). Joining the cast in recurring roles are Jennifer Ferrin (“The Knick,” “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”) as Kate Egan, Lizzy DeClement (“New Amsterdam,” “Divorce”), as Jill Wexler, Lenny Platt (The Dutchman, “The Hot Zone”), as Lenny Seidell, Armani Gabriel (“Blue Bloods”) as J-Boogs, Everett Osborne (Why Did I Get Married Again, Sweetwater) as Omay Moreau, and Jason Dirden (“American Soul,” “A Raisin in the Sun”) reprising his role as Traymont Stinson from “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” The first season will consist of 18 episodes and is filming in New Jersey.

Kate Egan (Jennifer Ferrin): Tommy’s mother Kate Egan is melodramatic, attention seeking and manipulative, especially if she’s using and desperate to get her hands on her next fix. Despite this, Tommy is fiercely devoted to her, taking care of her and trying to keep her clean.

Jill Wexler (Lizzy DeClement): Smart, ambitious and sharp-tongued, Jill is a nurse at a local Queens hospital with big dreams to someday go to medical school. A recovering addict who has experienced a lot of heartbreak in her young life, she falls hard for Tommy but is also quick to call him on his bullshit and frequent idiocy.

Lenny Seidell (Lenny Platt): A charismatic, confident finance bro turned fitness entrepreneur who owns a handful of successful NYC gyms with ambitions to create a fitness empire. Lenny’s business model relies heavily on providing steroids to his elite gym clientele and he’s always looking for new partners.

J-Boogs (Armani Gabriel): Sharp, street smart and scrappy, J-Boogs is a reliable foot soldier with a good eye for the game. He’s one of Ghost and Tommy’s most trusted corner boys.

Omay Moreau (Everett Osborne): A superstar tight end with the NY Jets and a generous friend to those in his inner circle, Omay invites his pals into an extravagant world of parties, hot women and hotter cars- all with no strings attached- or so it seems.

Traymont Stinson (Jason Dirden): First introduced in “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” Traymont was a once-trusted associate of the Thomas family who betrayed them.

The series will continue to explore the ‘Power’ universe in fresh and compelling ways, delving into the action-packed origin story of fan-favorite characters Ghost, Tommy and Kanan as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City. A fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the “Power” franchise, “Power: Origins” will highlight the unbridled audacity of young men on the rise, determined to become legends in the game.

“Power: Origins” will mark the fourth spinoff in the hugely popular “Power” series, preceded by “Power Book II: Ghost,” which screened its fourth and final season in 2024; “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which aired its fourth season earlier this spring, and already has filmed its upcoming fifth and final season to air in 2026; and “Power Book IV: Force,” which just kicked off its third and final season this fall.

Sascha Penn will showrun and executive produce “Power: Origins” from a pilot co-written by Penn and Courtney Kemp. The “Power” Universe series is executive produced by Kemp, the creator and showrunner of the original “Power,” through her production company, End of Episode; Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, through G-Unit Film and Television; Mark Canton, through Canton Entertainment; Chris Selak; Kevin Fox; and Pete Chatmon, who also serves as a director. Lionsgate Television will produce “Power: Origins” for STARZ.
