As an artist myself I respect creativity expressed in a variety of manners. Particularly in music I am a very harsh critic of others material as well as my own; so any compliment I may assess to anyone's work should be taken wholeheartedly. Over the past week I have been listening to a certain mixtape in particular, trying to determine a proper rating of the content. The mixtape I am speaking of is a collaborative effort by two artists by the name of Akins 2.0 & Yobbi. I've known Mr.Yobbi for a little over a year now and he's always shown an interest in MC'ing but I would've never guessed he'd put his talent to use in such a constructive manner. This mixtape combines poetic floetry and an experimentation element in the production many of us love to hear in new artists.

The Intro

The Star Wars sample, which I am very much a fan of, produced by Akins 2.0 elegantly brings us into the makings of the rapper/jedi known as Yobbi. The delivery by the individual who provides us the backstory for Out The Woodworks is flawlessly executed & brings back purpose in the intro's many rappers recently seem to slack on. The style is similar to the intro's of Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor and Kid Cudi's Man On the Moon; which most likely were influences.

Let's Have Some Fun

Undoubtedly one of my favorite songs on the tape. The S-Class production by Akins 2.0 and laid back flow of Yobbi emit a feeling of shameless bliss. Something I envisioned when I played this track for the first time was a gentleman dancing in a dim lit ballroom with his mistress at midnight, enjoying the sinful thrill of fornication. An artistic rendition of humanity exemplified through audio is something I LOVE to hear from any musician with the talent of executing this properly. If you can't relate to that this track would've also been the perfect theme music to the scene in Madea's Family Reunion in which the character "Carlos" verbally abused his fiancee "Lisa".

In My Psyche

Another one of my personal preferences on the Out The Woodworks tape is a song by the name of "In My Psyche". Yobbi self-examines several aspects of his life and life in general while effectively showing his lyrical ability. Psyche by some definitions is synonymous with Personality,which is very prevalent on this heartfelt aria.

Rather than continue to provide MY opinion on why these artists have the potential to become serious threats I suggest you download the mixtape for yourself and experience the force in full effect.

Now that Spring Break has officially began I will put my focus on long hours of sleep and relaxation. Today's mission in improving my lifestyle was nothing beyond reorganizing the H.E(Highest Education) headquarters, which is my room, preparing for an ocean of paint to consume the walls. While enduring a jacket-less brisk walk home (74° to 64° in a few hours.. that's South Florida for you) from campus, I went through my iPhone with intentions of finding theme music for the excursion. After scrolling through countless albums with nothing in particular catching my eye I decided to re-listen to Ni---r (Untitled) by Mr.Nasty Nasir. Having not listened to the album in over a year my appreciation for the lyrical content has grown substantially. The issues he discussed on the album which at one point I could not distinctively identify I can certainly see clearly now.

Coincidentally enough it began to rain midway on my trip home.

The 14 year old heir to the Simmons dynasty manages to do justice to Nas' "Made You Look".

It irks me enough that the rendition of a powerfully moving audio is slaughtered with visuals of excessive alcohol and "Young Money's White Knight" (No disrespect to Drizzy) to appeal to a mass audience. Sometimes you have to take a 3rd person view of yourself and ask yourself difficult questions. Personally with this blog I have questioned the importance of several issues I discuss; or how I expound upon those particular issues. The readers who do reach out to me have given me the impression that I am a great writer but a common criticism is the depth of my content. I do not feel that I have gone beyond basic understanding of the average web surfer but I do feel as I have missed an element of homeliness and belonging which I aim to attain.I aim to provide insight and direction for ambitious youth, such as myself, and begin a movement of progression towards attaining our individual goals. A pinnacle in living by building upon our strengths and diminishing our weaknesses. A movement in which the reader is just as much involved as myself. A group I recently discovered (about 2 months) by the name of Passion Pit have constructed a song which is definitely appreciated by all C.O.L.O.U.R.S alike; in the words of Mister Bentley. The video below although not the official video (which I found to be quite mediocre) fully exhibits that creativity does not necessarily require a substantial budget.

Keep in mind that these musical excerpts will be upped daily, TOMORROW CLASS IS IN SESSION. The new piece being prepared is very..well...you'll just have to see for yourself.

Today marks the 13th year in his Life After Death. Due to being at the tender age 4 when he was stolen from us I was unable to enjoy the uprising of the phenomenon that was Biggie Smalls. Nothing matches the desire I have to consciously live through the late 80's, early 90's era in Hip-Hop. The movement B.I.G created along with Puff Daddy (a.k.a Puffy a.k.a P Diddy a.k.a Diddy a.k.a you get it) impacted Hip-Hop in ways which have yet to been matched to this day. My first encounter with the lyrical ballads of Christopher Wallace were around 2005 when my musical tastes began to develop. Although I do reside in South Florida my tastes differ greatly from the associations commonly made with "the South". In my long periods of intimacy with the ethernet I came in contact with the epic conclusion to the life of a man Notoriously known as one of the greatest M.C's of all time; Life After Death. Rather than state my opinion on the album I suggest If you haven't had the pleasure of listening to this classic purchase/stream/downl.. the double album immediately!

The purpose of the Highest Education is to provide insight on many aspects of life, improving your daily standard of living. Although as humans we are all born equal we do not die equal. The difference between individuals who feel they have lived their life to the optimum capacity and those who regret not maximizing every aspect of the time they had on this earth is measured by the amount of enjoyment they experienced; in comparison to the completion of goals they may have set for themselves.

Although the goals we each set for our lives may be of different caliber, the feeling of self satisfaction and closure is equal. Whether you aspire to become the next Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or a CEO of a well established corporation (these are just examples) you have to attain a certain knowledge base in which you build upon through experience. The experience that those whom are prosperous obtain grows through the casual exchange of ideas, opinions, facts, and principles with other competent friends and/or associates. With that being said if you disagree with any points I may make on this blog feel free to comment as your opinion is just as valid as mine. I also will grow and any flaws I have adopted, being born as a human, will gradually fade. As humans we seek the perfection many claim we can never attain but as long as you are living a life in which you have a strong sense of self worth you can easily say it was a life worth living.

The point(s) in life where you feel you have reached the pinnacle in quality of living by standards you have set upon yourself. Everyone has different levels in which they feel satisfied in certain scenarios or just life in it's entirety. Some are satisfied by attaining a pair of sneakers in which the closest they've got to them is on Flight Club.com while others find satisfaction in gaining attention from a member of the opposite sex. Then there are those who look for a deeper sense of self worth rather than the superficial components of life the world gift wraps for the masses. In saying this I'm not attempting to depreciate the value of things such as fashion and relationships, as I am a fan of both, but when an individual spends their entire tuition check to "get fly", or spends more time in the face of their significant other than their Professor there is a SERIOUS issue. Prioritizing is a principle which many understand but don't execute excessively...

These are a few pieces from Gucci's Fall 2010 line which I found to be quite appealing. I am a fan of earth tones so it's natural for me to find these attractive, but the specific shades of each hue is what caught my eye more than anything else.

The aesthetics of these outfits below alone are very attractive. The jacket in the last picture would certainly be something you'd find in my closet; the boots and the bag are very crucial elements to the fit in my opinion as well.

Student-Blogger (Inner Being Prelude)

As a High School senior school has been taking the majority of my attention so I haven't had time to update as regularly. The Inner Being series was completely finished during an episode of insomnia a night/morning before class. I would have released it sooner but I now need to replace my iPhone charger for the umpteenth time. Trapped in the Notes application of my phone it cannot possibly be published at this time. The theme of the series is to provide a means of improving an individuals day to day life by dealing with the issues they may have with themselves. 100% of life's problem's can be solved by simply being aware of your weaknesses and knowing how to live with or improve them. This series is the beginning of the Highest Education which is a new venture to begin very soon. I will most likely buy a new charger in the upcoming week unless a friend allows me to borrow theirs to extract the article. Until then I will be providing other updates so visit daily in lookout for those.

Here in South Florida a large amount of Haitian immigrants in the United States reside. A great percentage of my comrades are of Haitian descent and it saddens me deeply to hear of the passing of their family members. Many portions of Haiti, primarily Port-au-Prince, have been reduced to rubble. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost and those who have survived have lost their homes and all of their possessions. Items such as water & food which were already not of abundance are now in even larger demand to the Haitian nation. The lack of compassion some have is inconceivable When this disaster was first announced twitter was barraged with ridicule and negative comments on the "Haiti" trending topic. Comments such as "Haiti deserved it" and "I don't care" exemplify the ignorance prevalent in America. Children crushed by the concrete walls of their homes and streets covered in corpses, a horrifying setting to experience.

Many sources are accepting donations towards Haiti but be weary as some are accepting self donations.

My apologies for taking such a long period of time to release the beginning of the Inner Being series announced Monday, but Tuesday I became ill due to the surprisingly cold weather Florida has been receiving. I know many of you may not feel sympathetic with your temperatures reaching below freezing but believe me back to back days of 40°F for a Floridian is very unpleasant. Although I have been ignoring my Ralph Lauren fashion roots I had no choice but to throw on my old faithful navy rugby and the hoodie I received as a Christmas gift on that Monday and head out to the school campus. I felt as If I was prepared for the worst of the weather but on the contrary the weather got the best of me. With mid-terms next week my nose will be in the books which have been neglected while I was bedridden. The Inner Being series will have to be delayed until after mid-terms but I assure you it is worth the wait.

"Apparently not enough layers..."

I usually only watch television on occasion, but in my sick state I became acquainted with the Law and Order series on a new level. Before the hours I spent wheezing in the dungeon that is my room I had only seen a few episodes of Law & Order. Although they did give me the impression that this is a pretty well written program I did not gain the insight which has given me respect for the executors of the law to a much greater extent. The stories are obviously exaggerated and our justice system has many imperfections but the work involved behind each case seems to have an emotional aspect which I was unaware of. A case may emotionally impact the prosecutor enough to assist the suspect in ways the defendant is unable to. This element of pathos was most likely added so the viewer is exposed to individuals in the lower branches of power with hearts, but in many cases power corrupts and causes people to gain a swagger. I've met my fair share of police officers in my criminal justice course and conversing with the majority of them you will realize they are human also, but many officers mistake their career as a factor putting them above the public rather than a public service. Of course these types of officers will not be broad casted to the masses via television but they do exist. When people begin to find gratification in kindness towards others rather than seeking gratification in self worth and satisfaction we may advance past the mistakes repeated in history countless times.
