Flea Market at Picuris Pueblo

Are you tired of looking at your old stuff, but can’t bear throwing it away? Then come to the Flea Market at Picuris Pueblo. The Pueblo will be renting spaces for a $5 minimum (you can donate more if you’d like), all monies raised will benefit the San Lorenzo Church. The market will take place June 8th and 9th at the disc golf course. For more information call the Picuris Tribal Office at 587-2519.

MARIMBA concert to benefit Dixon Animal Protection Society

On the lawn behind the library

POLYPHONY MARIMBA from Santa Fe is led by Peter Swing. They play rocking Zimbabwean roots music and original compositions. The band members’ ages range from early teens to mature adults.
They will be heading out for a 3 week tour of the East coast.

Peter is friend and teacher to KOMBUCHA marimba and a great supporter of all things marimba in the Embudo Valley.

Opening band is local youth group—DIXON MARIMBA-TEERS ! An after-school marimba class gone wild! Must see to believe!

BEWARE: It is a desperate year for bears. Hungry bears have
been causing problems in the area. For example, from central Dixon
along the river: “My goat was attacked the other night a big black bear.
My goat weighs 90 pounds and still has her horns so she wasn’t exactly
an easy target. I worry that the bear may be able to get smaller dogs
that are left out, even in fenced yards.” For advice on living with bears

theme of rain and water. The categories for Let Moisture Reign are sculpture, painting,

Please come to a benefit for the Embudo Valley Library Sunday, May 19th
from 2:00 to 5:00 featuring the Jerry Becker Jazz Trio featuring Jerry Becker
on sax, Doug Franz on organ and Bob Lennon on drums. There will also be a
guest appearance by El Norte Jazz All Stars featuring Mamie Farish on Piano,
Holly Hass vocals, Ben Lucero on bass and vocals and Shel Neymark on violin
and vocals. The party is at Liz and Shel’s Placebo, directions attached. Your
$10 donation will help us finish the new library. Children under 13 free.
