WORDS FROM THE HERO

(ABOVE - NEW) / (BELOW This W.F.T.H. is A Muneshine post I did on 2/10/09) but have now moved it and combined it with this post being his new album "Status Symbol" has dropped.

Last Saturday or the one before (im not sure hahaha) I Met up w/ D.J. Fisher (owner of Domination Recordings) in YBOR CITY @t the Crowbar, I was going to hang out with DJ, Dwight (Count Bass D) and DJ Ynot. Stayed for a bit but left early due to a bad Knee and Wrok the next day, (I found out I missed a classic set by DJ A-TRAK whom was at Crowbar the same evening).

So End of the night comes, and DJ said he has A CD for me that he just put out... The Muneshine CD "Status Symbol" - I pop it in the CD player in the car and let it play from front 2 back and fell in love.... Muneshine is not only someone who I have known for a long time or just a friend.... If he was a complete stranger my opinion on this record would still be the same..

STATUS SYMBOL is A CLASSIC DOPE AMAZING FANTASTIC ALBUM.! From the moment you put it in till the very End.... It is Breath taking...

My Personal Favorite track is "LEAVING YOU" produced by ODDISEE w/ Cuts from another good friend of mine DJ RAGZ of JAZZ ADDIXX, I want to do a Remix of this song soo bad it hurts.... And I dont mean I want to change the beat, I would just like to add a verse to the already classic song!!!!!! Not sure if this is possible but i will attempt to ask today or tommorow.... My next favorite song is "CATS & Dogs" and the Intro..... man.....Im so Proud of Mune for staying focused and making dope music!!!!!!

When I received the email from Muneshine saying that "Big man on Campus" was being released Tommorow I had to pinch myself to see if I was Dreaming. Haha, Reason being is when he originally hit me up to get down on the album he game me a tight "serious" Deadline cus it was to be released in a few weeks. This was Fall 2007 hahaha. Nah on A Serious note I have been waiting for this project for quite some time now, more than A good friend of muneshine I am A good Fan of his music. He has been grinding the indie scene beside me since the 90's and have I been excited for every release since the days when he was just Remixing cats songs with his Jazzy Boombap Beats. Tho I gotta say, It wasnt untill I Ordered "Oppertunity Knocks" that it really hit me hard. Man o MAN! From The 1st sound till the very last one, that album is Super Classic "Midnight Marauder" Status. "The Sun Goes Down" is one of my top 10 Favorite songs of All Time PERIOD. A two of my fav's DJ Spinna and Peterock blessing the album was A dream come true for more that just him but for everyone who had the chance to hear his record. Plus, it does'nt hurt that my BEATFANATIC family is all over Muneshine's releases. Rob really does have "Classic" Taste, A Passionate Drive, Good Sense of Buisiness and overall just A good person. So It is A Honor to post this MEGA-MUNESHINE-HOBBYSHOP HERO POST.

THE STORY OF MUNESHINE
(well at least up to the Point before Opertunity Knocks was released haha)

Muneshine has been involved in Hip Hop since the mid 90's.In the beginning it was the music of Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and Erib B. & Rakim that foundits way into Muneshine's tape deck. He was drawn to the honesty and reality of the music, and in turn it gave him a whole new outlook on his own situation. Although he grew up in rural Saskatchewan (Canada), it was Hip Hop that gave Muneshine a creative outlet, and eventually his definition.

In 1997, Muneshine realized that listening to Hip Hop, and writing rhymes wasn't enough. Shortly after graduating from high school, he chose to expand his horizons, and teach himself how to DJ. He purchased the highly regarded (low quality) Gemini DJ Starter Kit, and got to it. Growing up in a small community, Hip Hop vinyl was hard to come by, but slowly his collection grew. Through the challenge of finding the Hip Hop records he was after, subconsciously Muneshine learned the art of digging.

After a few years of honing his DJ'ing and rhyming skills further, Muneshine decided it was time to take the next step. He started saving his minimum wage earnings in plans of purchasing the Akai MPC 2000. He knew the moment he hooked it up that this was it, this was what all his previous exploits had built up to. He was instantly hooked on production, and found the process natural.

Through use of the internet, Muneshine was able to look beyond his local music scene, and start networking with other artists in his position. It was through this connection that Muneshine met three emcees from Portland, Oregan known (although not at the time) as Lightheaded.

After fully producing the group's debut album, "Pure Thoughts", Muneshine knew he was onto something. As soon as the album hit shelves, the rave reviews of this Canadian new-comer started to pile up.

Off the success of "Pure Thoughts", Muneshine started getting requests for collaboration from around the globe. Among many of the projects he took on in that period, one stood out above the rest. In the summer of 2002, Muneshine was contacted by emcee Sycorax One (now known simply as Raks One) from New York, U.S.A..Once their first song reached completion ("Heroshima" from their debut album "A Vision and a Plan"), they both realized that they had tapped into an amazing chemistry, and decided from that point on their work together would be listed as Phocus, and they instantly started working on more songs.

Around the same time, Muneshine's emcee work had put him in touch with a small group of producers from around the world who were at the same point in their careers as he was. With the help of Dminor (vocalist/producer from California, U.S.A.), Muneshine formed what has come to be known as Wax Reform, a collection of extremely driven and talented producers. The first producers to become official members were Presto (Zaandam, Holland), Illmind (New Jersey, U.S.A.) and M-Phazes (Gold Coast, Australia). They formed with the common goal to raise the bar creatively, and attempt to bring the soul back to Hip Hop music.

Muneshine had also started working with emcee Supastition (North Carolina, U.S.A.), and was immediately blown away by his raw delivery and pure ambition. Muneshine put him in touch with the rest of Wax Reform, and not long after that he was officially voted into the crew as their first representative behind the mic.

As things progressed with Phocus, Raks One was also inducted into the crew.

In the fall of 2003, Muneshine made another big decision, and applied to Canada's finest Audio Engineering School, in London, Ontario. With plans of being a self contained unit, he decided learning the technical ins and outs of music production and recording would do nothing but benefit himself, and Wax Reform. Over the next year Muneshine did just that, and in the fall of 2004 he walked away with an honors degree in Audio Engineering.

That fall, Muneshine and Raks One (Phocus) released their debut album, "A Vision and a Plan" with Japanese record label Handcuts Records. The album featured Dminor, Supastition, and Illmind of Wax Reform.

Around the same time of the release, Muneshine started working on his own solo album, as an emcee. During the previous few years the majority of his focus was on building his production skill, but the love of ripping the mic was never lost. With a few tracks in the books, Muneshine reached out to two of his mentors, the legendary Pete Rock, and DJ Spinna about collaborating with him on this new project. With the help of his label in Japan (Handcuts Records), this dream became a reality.

There is no greater passion than the passion one has for the Music they have listened to in their youthful years. The Boom-Bap Golden Era 90's Hip Hop is my 1st love. You know? For every, and I mean Every single great or bad memory there is 9 times out of 10 A Soundtrack to that thought. I remember the 1st time I stayed up 24 hours, and spent it outside with my walkman by myself, and I remember and I can feel the goosebumps thinking back to that day.... The Sun was close to peaking out, but not quite yet, you know that time of the morning when you can tell its about to get light but its still dark, and birds are chirping..... I was walking in Circles at the basketball Court, which was just 1 goal in the corner of our apartment complex, and The Roots "Do you want more?!?" was blasting in my earphones.... The Earthquaking 808's leading you into A Jazzy Bagpipe Build up and I remember the Hair standing on end and butterflies in my stomach....The happiness I achieved at that moment is something I haven't felt in a looong time...... I can Tell you A Similar Story for each of the Classic songs, from each one of these amazing hip hop artists that Mark563 has so respectfully Drew but this post would be A short Novel if I attempted to do so.... Shrouded in mystery. Artist / Producer / Arranger / Songwriter / Actor / Business man known as Funkghost has remained somewhat of an enigma. A bonafide Tampa street legend, This Artist's body of work has influenced a generation of dj's / producers/rappers/singers from his region, as well help lay the foundation of Central Florida hip-hop. In 2000, he dropped his Classic Debut LP entitled "Ultra-Boogie Highlife". Due to shady dealings and investments from Colombian underworld connects, The album never reached it''s full selling potential. It remains a cult classic and hard to find gem ( only 20,000 Units were circulated). BEWARE!!!! The "Morris Day of Rap" is back!!! with his second full length Lp entitled ~~Due to be released in March 2009~~ on his own imprint Grand Extravagant Entertainment. The Official 1st Single off the Lp " The Way I Rock My Clothes " was released On Feburary 17th 2009 and will be available for download thru Itunes mid March 2009. The Video for the song was shot Jan 23rd, 24th and 25th in Tampa Fl. and is bieng somewhat described as a mini movie. According to Funk, he describes it as a " Crime action melodramatic comedy"

What Can I say? FunkGhost is a Hero to me, An Inspiration , someone whom I have an enormous amount of Respect for. I began emceeing (Freestyling and writing) at the age of 14. My 1st worldwide release on Vinyl was at age 17. It was the years between 14 and 17 that really count. I would listen to 88.5 w/ MADLINX, D-Money and my man Little Lue and when I heard Tap Ghost and phobia, The HipHop Dickheads, Prime and Black Lungs and Shredded wheat, DJ SANDMAN, DJ FADER, DJ KRAMTRONIX..... Those where the local legends I looked up to whom all become very good friends......Funkghost was the mentor of BeatFanatic H.N.I.C. SLOPFUNKDUST (T. The beat Specialist) , and Slop was my mentor on the beat-tip or at least was the only cat I would try to impress....

Over the years, I surpassed all my local legends and released multiple world wide released and thought that all the cats I looked up to gave up..... and to my surpise the homie FUNKGHOST got A second wind, and A Alias (DINO VELVET) and once again, He is pushing the envelope and Inspiring me once again..... Plus if you are a long time reader and/or Dutchmassive fan... You know that "Vintage Futuristic" is the word I have always used to describe my beats =) "HI-TEK HISS AND SURROUND SOUND STATIC, VINTAGE FUTURISITC BOOM-BAP DUSTY WEEDED NEWAGE NATIVE TONGUE - The Track below is A joint I did that Funkghost produced. The Reality of it is that I Recorded the song to the Beat without his knowledge, mixed it down, called him, played it and then he gave it to me, It was on this BEAT CD He gave me, his DINO VELVET BEAT CD - Which has one of my favorite beats of all times (not sure what its called but its got a guitar in it and theres a voice saying "so sexy" I asked for it years ago but he said his man Marcus Vance was using it....Here we are almost 4 years later and that beat still hasnt surfaced =( He should of let me rip it lovely. In fact. Im Ultra suprised Ghost hasnt hit me up to jump on his Classic "Dirty but sophisticated" LP.

Between "Flavor Splash" - "Live and Direct" and "Instructions".... I chose Instructions but Live and Direct is not only my fav joint of the album, but one of my favorite joints of all time. Enjoy

"Ultra-Boogie High Life" - URBANSMARTS.COM review

There are two things that come with this CD, that will cause you to be all prejudiced about it. The first thing is the self printed cover, that is then explained as necessary, due to some copyright hassle. And the second, the one regular pic you get, shows the Funkghost, chilling on a tiger fur, and looking like Big Daddy Kane during his most macking days. Then again we don't even know who Funkghost is. And there are a bunch of different emcees rhyming, and they are not credited on the one print out paper we got (but we probably should have asked, huh?). So these things will let you be suspicious when it comes to putting the record in and checking it out. But the pleasant surprise is only the bigger, once the album starts to play, and you are asked to "surrender your ears, surrender your ears to the supremely exotic sounds, and pulsating beats", and after only a few minutes, you as if willingness, do so.

Funk says this quote on "Introduction", an opening cut, complete with jazzy organs, and other peoples voices, who you wonder who that is, and wish there'd be a proper cover to let you know. But there's not much time to ponder such thoughts, as we are already entering "Ultra-Boogie Highlife". You will hear that Funk is actually not about macking, as this is on some good old bragging and boasting vibe, that is spit in a rather quick flow, over a not totally pleasing whistle and hopping beat. Much better is "The Fabulous...", that is actually returning to velvet like sound structures, and opens with a collage of nifty voice samples. Rather quickly the track changes though, still remaining in soft clusters, as we enter some Tampa (where he is from) night travel. The beat is definitely cool on this track, and lyrically we remain in the same ballpark as the track before.

Living up to his name, well, more the first than the last part, Funk hooks up a guitar for "U Can Get Down", with guests lending their voice to the track, that is rather interrupted than completed with the chorus. And so we continue to "Melodic Nectar", that takes us into darker atmospheres, that sound familiar, without us having heard 'em before, but with it settling in on us so comfortable. With more reflective lyrics, the track is once more a big extra to what we feared this album would be limited to. And the incredibly silky production, that is as smooth as the slickest hustler outta the funkiest Blacksploitation movie, is further continued on "Soul Emporium Suite", that consists of a host of people giving props to the man behind the boards.

On , and it gets rather unneeded to actually mention it, the beat once more is very nice, with a lot of voice elements, being added, scratches and the jazzyness giving this track again our full approval. The voice Funk does his braggadocios rhymes is just as smooth and he keeps the flow accessible, still leaping a little behind though, if we'd had to say what he does better, beats or rhymes. You can hear how easy it must be for him to sex ladies up, when he goes into the talked "Mic Flam's Midnight Moodiness". The production on "Instructions 'S.F.D.P. Anthem'" once more is miraculous, magical with the female singing, the ease it has. This is the chilling on sofas track, and being content with accomplishments. And that's actually the vibe it gives you, being content, pleased with oneself. People that are always running after the what they don't have and neglecting the what they have don't make music like this.

With all the praise that we pour down over the record, maybe there's one thing that we could mention, that's on the other side of the spectrum of things to say: once "Flavor Splash!" comes on, you might be wondering if Funkghost has a completely different style in him too. Things do sound somewhat similar, or very much of the same family, throughout the album. Putting a female emcee on this track, does give you a new rock though, to continue to building of your pile. Maybe "3am Drive" is as switched up as this gets, with the pace picking up, and us getting a party track, that will get you moving, and not just lounging. Lyrically the content is definitely fitting the vibe the track gives you, and so we got another success story. And just like always, once you try to conclude something, you are proven wrong, as "Tampa International" is not as silky and velvet like, as the other tracks, it still being smooth though. Funkghost is not keeping that up for long though, as he goes back to the guitar, the good time emotions of "Live And Direct 'From The Casbah'", that is just one example of the incredibility the tracks have, here with all the voices, heck even the seagull at the end. The production is so complete and totally rounded out, it deserves the name of compositions, what is much more than just a beat. And once more the vibe is fitting the content confidentially. We are then only being left with "Starshine", that does more of the elaborated styles of before, without losing a step though.

So what now? Are you stuck in a place where the sun don't shine, and where the gritty concrete of the streets you walk on, prevent you from even thinking of better days, of warm glistening sunbeams tickling your skin, that have you chill back, have your sprits be heated up and lay your head on the smooth surface of a blanket that good moods give to you to find a moment of true relaxation? Man, rid yourself of these shackles and board the Funkghost ship that will carry you into the sunset.

Take note: The hip hop game is about to get REAL interesting in the coming days and weeks. Why? Because of all the overly-excited responses sure to arise from Jay Z’s hotly anticipated Blueprint 3 kick-off “D.O.A.”, the rap king’s sharp deathknell toll to all things Auto-Tune.
Highlighted by a sarcastic, shower-sung riff off of Steam’s deathless stadium staple (and second generation DeBarge sample source) “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” for it’s hook, “D.O.A.” sees co-producers No I.D. and Kanye West stewing up a fiery aural assault of blaring sax/ electric guitar-fueled furor as Jigga dashes off an endless spraying of slick hip hop quotables sure to bruise the feelings of plenty of today’s airwave-clogging, Auto-Tune addicts.

But for all of it’s arousing, game-changing event-like presence, one has to wonder if “D.O.A”’s cries of “Pull your skirt back down/ Grow a set men”, aimed at robo-throated, tight jean-sporting, bright clothes-loving “emcees” with voices “too light”, will actually even be able to succeed in…well, changing the game. It’s easy to admire Jay for fighting the “good fight” (and best believe, there will be plenty of co-signers coming along to grab the beat for their own anti-A-T tirades), but it’s doubtful that any of these “old fogey”-ish rants to bring rap back to where it was will REALLY bring an end to the genre’s current obsession with alien-toned, melodicized flows and the attractive big pop money it brings in.

Yeah, it’s nice to hear a reinvigorated Jay bringing to the table some major heat (and not some “Show Me What You Got”-esque disappointment) to jump-off his third Blueprint installment and we’re excited for the heated back-and-forth blog commentary “D.O.A.” will inspire, but we get the feeling that the (unfortunately indestructible-seeming) T-Pain’s and Ron Browz’ of this world don’t have anything to worry about. - [SOURCE -Mixtapemaestro ]

My personal Opinion as (Dutch VonEpp Ziegler / The Hobbyshop Hero) is that JAY-Z is one of the greatest Emcee's of all time Hands Down, Period. I'll put it this way.

IMAGINE if you will. A new JAY Z album. With Production (beats) from. DJ PREMIER , PETE ROCK, BUCK WILD, J DILLA, DJ QUICK, Q-TIP, NO I.D, M-Phazes, ILLMIND, INTACT, FLYING LOTUS, 9th Wonder, ETC.... (BUT! and a Big But!) all of the beats where Each producer in their Prime, Illmatic days, The Main Ingrediant Days, Hard 2 Earn, No Commercial style beats, but the most BOOM BAP, Bangers from Each Producer.....

The Album would be Untouchable. I know that Jay-Z has had some poor content choices, but if he put all his Raw Energy into an album and all he cared about was making A Classic Record and not impressing the Radio Fans, or the Street Chemist's then I think duke would shine super Bright!.

My thoughts on AUTOTUNE. The Program is dope. The Effect can be dope, and there are alot of others sounds and styles that can be put to use...... The whole T-PAin style just overplayed it to death.... but in moderation, and used tastefully I think its a dope concept. that has been used to death.

This post I Focused on a few things I felt important.

The Video / Song Itself as this is the 1st time I really gave it the time of day and well....to be honest. It is a dope song. He ripped it.
The Producer "NO I.D." & the BEAT which is produced by NO I.D. & KANYE.
For those who don't already know, NO I.D. is the Chicago based producer who was behind COMMON'S 1st 3 albums (BEAT WISE) he was A AMAZING PRODUCER and "o.k" emcee as was his partner DUG INFINITE. No I.D. went from the status of Peterock Dope HipHop Beats, to some of the Biggest "hits" on the Radio over the years, which I may no be so excited about cus of coarse Id rather he stayed making BOOM BAP beats, but I cant be mad at duke for getting his Rap Money hahahahha
The Riley & Troutman Mixtape which was on RAPPERSIKNOW pretty much mocking JAYZ and T PAIN and everyone for biting their style haha
ORIGINAL FLAVOR - The Group put together by Jay-z's original Producer (from Reasonable Doubt) SKI (ROCABLOC)- The album had Ski on the beats, and Rhymes plus 2 other dope cats and Jay-Z was all over this album before he switched up his style, JAY-Z sounded more like Twista, with the super fast rhymes back in 93..... I loved this album and this was the 1st time I heard of Jay-Z (I hated Hawian Sofie btw)

HsH Artist SpotLight - Dwele - Live (realtime) Michael Jackson Tribute

On june 25th 2009, DWELE G who is undoubtedly one of my Top 3 Dream Collabo's / Favorite Artist of all time was at home washing clothes for upcoming tour. He had about 45 minutes to set up the camera and have some fun in tribute to mike, mistakes and all, all in fun. I personally feel this is a Sincere and positive way to embrace someones memory in passing.

The 1st time I heard Dwele was in Summer of 2000. I just moved out on my own for the 1st time and rented a apartment w/ my one of my best friends Orlando Pisegna (Majik Most) who is also 1/3 of my group Equilibrium. I bought Bahamadia's sophomore release B.B. Queen which only has a few tracks but it is Beyond Amazing, The Vibe is soooooooo Dope!

I was Sitting In the living room w/ a few people over. As always I had the place set up w/. A Ambeint vibe Dim lights, Red and Blacklight, Nag Champa Burning..... Brain Elevated from the (L) and I was a few St Ides Deep when BAM!!!..... This was the wonderful sound I coming out of my BoomBox

And This!!

This period was the Transition from "JUNK PLANET" Dutchmassive to "Music 2 Sleep To" Dutchmassive - It was around this time I became more humble, mature, relaxed, etc... Hearing Dwele on Bamahadia's album changed my life.... Before that I Would listen to Stevie Wonder (who at that time Next to Q-Tip was my favorite) "InnerVissions" and "Too High" were my Jawns!!!!! so needless to say when I heard Dwele's Joint "Jimmy Stay Down" where he Flips Stevie Wonder's "Too High" w/ his own Twist I went BANANAS!

Fast Forward almost 10 years later and I'm again Buggin out to this Dwele track from a Rare Project I can't seem to get my hands on "Jon's my name" where he plays the part of Dwele's Son (Confused?) hahahah BTW If anyone has this project shoot me a message please.

Ben Hibon Biography

Ben Hibon was born in Geneva, Switzerland where he completed studies in Fine Art. He moved to London in 1996 to study Graphic Design at the Central Saint Matins College of Art and Design, followed by a Masters Degree at the same school. In 2004, after working for 4 years as a Creative Director in a prominent London based design company, he joined Blink Productions to move into directing. He made his commercial debut with a highly successful Kwik Fit campaign for DDB London, a very unconventional mixture of live action performance and graphic 3D animation. A busy 2005 saw Ben working for MTV Europe and Asia (an action intro sequence for MTV Screen) and he designed characters and animated in-game sequences for Killer7, Capcom's highly acclaimed video game. Ben also created a sequence for “Tokyo Zombie”, a Japanese horror film written and directed by the infamousSakichi Sato. Ben's short film Codehunters premiered at the MTV Asia Awards 2006 held in Bangkok, Thailand. Since it's release, Codehunters has been shown in more than 50 festivals all around the world, and received nominations at the Raindance Film Festival and the Rushes Shorts Festival. It won a gold award for Best Animation at the Promax/BDA Asia awards in 2006, the Imagina Award 07 for best short film, a D&AD Nomination for Animation, and most recently the highly coveted Golden Nica award at the Prix Ars Electronica 2007.

In early 2007, Sony Playstation commissioned Ben to create and direct an animated series inspired by their flagship PS3 game "Heavenly Sword". The episodes, made available weekly as a lead-up to the game's release, are also featured on the game disc as extras. Songjiang Hotel: Paradise in a Water-Filled Quarry

The Songjiang Hotel by Atkins Design makes use of a beautiful water-filled quarry in the Songjiang district just outside Shanghai in China. This innovative design features a green roof, geothermal energy and underwater areas including a restaurant and guest rooms. The quarry provides an ideal setting for sports and leisure including swimming, water sports, rock climbing and bungee jumping. The Songjiang Hotel was originally slated to be completed by May 2009, but as of now it's still just a concept.

Dragonfly, a Metabolic Farm for Urban Agriculture

From Vincent Vallebaut, designer of the Lilypad concept, comes another stunning sustainable design that aims to meet the food, housing and energy challenges of the future. The Dragonfly is an urban farm concept for New York City's Roosevelt Island, modeled after the wings of a dragonfly and designed to provide fresh, local food within an urban environment. Fruit, vegetables, grains, meat and dairy would be produced on the Dragonfly's 132 floors and the entire structure would be powered by a combination of solar and wind power.

The Venus Project: Working Toward Sustainable Global Civilization

The Venus Project is a vision for a brand new world civilization and redesign of our entire culture. Circular cities with built-in farms and public transit, along with sea cities that can accommodate millions, are just part of this complex and visionary idea to take us "beyond politics, poverty and war".

The Origami, Seamless Indoor/Outdoor Apartment Living

By making apartment buildings entirely vertical, we could enhance the livability of urban residences and provide lush green gardens for each apartment dweller to enjoy. The Origami by Kann Finch, designed for Meydan City in Dubai, would give each apartment an open quality that extends the internal living areas to extensive balconies with uplifting window walls. A patterned solid/glass screen gives the building visual interest from the outside and provides shade and privacy for the residents.

Dynamic, Wind-Powered Rotating Tower

Italian architect David Fischer designed the Dynamic Tower Skyscraper so that each of its 80 floors would rotate according to voice command. Fischer wanted to design a space where you could enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the same room. The rotation takes up to 3 hours and is powered by solar panels and 79 wind turbines, with one turbine located between each floor. Almost the entire structure will be pre-fabricated offsite. Construction is due to be completed by the end of 2010.

Højblokka / Puls High-Rise

The Højblokka_PULS project by MAPT + DARK architects is another approach to vertical urban living, taking advantage of vertical space to expand the capacity of large cities as the population grows. The idea is to have buildings with smaller footprints that is woven into the circulation of the area, combining office spaces, hotels, leisure and shopping facilities with sunlit public spaces in its low-rise urban block.

Green and Modern Fair & Exhibition Space at the Punta Umbria Pavilion

MRDP Arquitectos, a Spanish design firm, wanted to create a space for fairs and exhibitions that would remain lively even in between events, maximizing the usage of the space. Their design for the Punta Umbria Pavilion is situated on an urban plaza and is contained under an expansive green roof covered in native, weather-resistant, low-maintenance plants. A 17m tower serves as a 'lighthouse' that provides views of the river and its surroundings.

Sky-Terra Skyscrapers: Urban Recreation in the Sky

As cities become more crowded, green urban space comes at a premium. One idea for preserving recreation space in urban environments is the Sky-Terra Skyscraper by San Francisco-based designer Joanna Borek-Clement. Sky-Terra is a neuron-like network of skyscrapers that tower over the city, bringing public parks, amphitheaters, fields and public pools closer to the sun. The inner core of each structure has elevators to transport people from street level to the top.

The Future World Trade Center

New York was deprived of its Twin Towers in 2001, but it will soon have a whole new World Trade Center gracing its skyline. Made up of five new skyscrapers, a museum, a transportation hub, a retail complex and a performing arts center, the new design aims to make the World Trade Center a cultural and commemorative destination. The memorial plaza is scheduled to open on September 11th 2011, followed by the underground memorial museum and Tower 4 in 2012 and the Freedom Tower in 2013. The economic meltdown has slowed progress and it's unknown when towers 2, 3 and 5 will be completed.

'My Dream, Our Vision' by Design Act

Singapore-based design firm Design Act created the 'My Dream, Our Vision' concept for the World Expo 2010 Singapore Pavilion Competition. It uses permutated cubes to generate a pixelated-looking sculptural building that that looks like an illuminated 'digital cloud' hovering over a constantly changing green pasture. Designed to present Singapore as the ideal example of a city that can transform the lives of everyone who comes into contact with it, the 'My Dream, Our Vision' concept encourages visitors to post their dreams inside.

No Man's Land: Fresh Water, Clean Energy… and Peace

Can architecture foster peace in the Middle East? The No Man's Land concept by New York-based architect Phu Hoang Office solves some site-specific issues such as friction over water control and also provides recreation, tourist attractions and renewable energy. The No Man's Land design is made up of a network of islands, creating an artificial archipelago that actually extracts water molecules from the air to be desalinated, providing fresh drinking water.

Dystopian Farming in Manhattan

Resembling the nest of an insect, the Dystopian Farming project by Eric Vergne combines farms, worker housing and market places, mixing politically opposing classes – farmers and urban consumers. The idea is to reject the romanticizing of food projection and embrace genetic engineering, airoponic watering and nutrient technologies in a fully man-controlled environment in order to meet Manhattan's food production needs.

I Love Architecture So so much. Especially Modern / Futuristic type Design. I could go into a huge back story about how I was in Drafting Class and whatnot but I think Ill just give you the Ultra Condensed version where as Movies such as "BLADE RUNNER" & "5th Element" and The Original "TRANSFORMERS" movie from the 80's really influenced my passion for A Certain type of Design. It is very apparent on my debut solo release "JUNK PLANET" (which was created during the late 90's and released finally in 2004) that I was Influenced by the Planet of Junk (Transformers) as well as A Million other SciFi movies. When I came across this post I had to bring it over here and share it with you all. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Peace, Man I am Glad I decided to take time away from music to do this HobbyshopHero site. I have so many people around me doing great things it would be an absolute shame not to have such a dope venue to share the things I do with my fanbase & Readers (what up Everyone!)

BUFF1 can not receive enough praise from me. The same goes for 14KT. I swear to (insert ? here) that these cats just cant go wrong. Buff has released 5 solo projects that I am aware of and thats on top of his work with the Almighty AML and There hasn't been one single song that I would consider "FILLER" or Skip (and those who know me know I got A Ichy Trigger Finger for that Fast Forward Button). Same goes for my man 14kt who's production is out of this world. (his Rhymes are super dope as well) When you hear A beat thats 14kt's it is impossible to not recognize. I was absolutely Blessed to have worked with him for one of my most personal tracks to this date "I WANT HER" from my sophomore LP "Crush Your System".

Needless to say it has been an absolutely breath taking year for the ATHLETIC MIC LEAGUE. Let me breakdown two personal situations I have had recently w/ A-SIDE WORLDWIDE'S catalog.

After never hearing anything from NOW ON (besides HAIRCUT'S amazing Instrumentals) I Finally got to listen to one of their tracks "The Willows" and was blown away. I then proceeded to listen to the Album "TOMMOROW ALREADY" and it has not left my Walkman for 2 months Strait. I mean, This is one really really dope album from start to finish. I feel like a fool for never taking the time to check out the music which made me realise how many dope albums I must be missing, and how many dope artists have no Idea how much they would love DUTCHMASSIVE due to A Lack of crossing Audible paths...(sigh)

This gives the Phazon Suit an ability to protect Samus from the deadly effects of the deadly blue substance and shoot the Phazon Beam when standing in pools of Phazon. Just when Metroid Prime is defeated, the Phazon Suit is stolen and used to create one of Samus’ greatest enemies, Dark Samus!"

First 4 Figures has used the official game files in order to create an extremely accurate recreation of the Phazon suit, with pose inspiration taken from official Metroid artwork.

Looks incredible on its own and really completes a display when put together with the Varia suit and Gravity suit statues.

We completely reengineered the original Varia suit model to make the Phazon suit by casting it entirely in transparent resin, adding over 25 LED lights through the suit and finished it off by adding a mirror base which really shows off the lights. When the lights are turned off, an internal IC chip allows for the lights to fade out slowly.

The statue is hand finished and hand painted with metallic paints to give an authentic representation of the suits. Comes packed in a foam interior full colored box with a card of authenticity.

The Phazon Suit is highly limited at just 1500 pieces worldwide.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever got over the fact that The Hero of the METROID series "SAMUS" was A Female. Dont get me wrong, I loved playing as Faith in Mirrors Edge and I had no problem when FINAL FANTASY x2 was an ALL FEMALE Cast but for some reason I just still cant cope with the Idea of that Manly looking suit being protective armor for Miss Samus and not Mr. Samson hahahah. Is it just me or have pictures of this Light up SAMUS FIGURE been FLOATING around the NEW for well over a year now?... I guess the release date is finally around the corner (JULY 9th) to be exact. Unfortunately I do not think I am going to be dropping $250 on this amazing Limited Edition PHAZON SUIT piece. Oh well, more for you guys hahaha. PEAAAACE!

They all have in common (with Nutsons as an exception) that they are part of a new generation of Norwegian beat producers that has grown up on the music of Jay Dee & Madlib and the sound from Detroit and Los Angeles - compared to the earlier beat makers in Norway, more influenced by New York producers like DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Large Professor.

You have Absolutely no IDEA how exciting this is for me and how proud I am to be able to finally post this project up! Tho the project is kinda like A double edge sword for me, my love for my friends and fam completely out weights my desire for exclusive rights or being the 1st to release something. It all started back in 2005 when my good friend and Fam LEAF ERIKSON (DETROIT heavyweight) put me onto my current favorite beatmaker of all time .....
INTACT! of (KOLON PRODUCTIONS)...

I met Intact during the time I was starting to record DISC 2 of the highly anticipated (never released) album MUSIC 2 SLEEP TO. I was lucky enough to get about 7 tracks from Intact which are doper than your favorite Producers best Battle Beats. Among those tracks is the 1st single off the RE:release of Crush Your System - "THOUGHT" produced by INTACT b/w "Shuffle Step" (feat. Buff1 & Finale) produced by Samiyam which will be released as a Limited Edition Seven Inch.

Now, between the time we met and now, There were a few Roadblocks and changes made (1 of them being the Rawkus 50 project which derailed my plans for Music 2 Sleep To disc 2) I later Recorded an Album with ALL INTACT Production and Titled it QUIT WORK MAKE MUSIC and then as Im sure most of you know.... my Macbook Crashed and I lost everything I had done the past 2 and a half years. What people do not know about the situation is by loosing my MACBOOK I also lost all of the stuff I had on my external Hard drive which was bounced to the macbook the 2 or 3 months before the Crash during my attempt to remove Windows Parrallels and Install Logic Studio Pro (LONG STORY).......

To make a long story short, Domination Recordings is re:RELEASING a REVAMPED version of my Rawkus release "CRUSH YOUR SYSTEM" which will feature the Single mentioned above plus a few other Bangers I have managed to keep from everyones ears and inboxes (which is hard being I Love to share my music as I make it). On top of CRUSH YOUR SYSTEM (The Physical Version) I will be releasing my new (major) album in the FALL which will feature 7 joints from INTACT that will make heads explode!!!! of those, will include "THOUGHT" (version 2 featuring LEAF ERIKSON) & "GROW" (version 2 featuring LEAF ERIKSON, BAATIN & WILL WIDDOSS) - The album will also feature production from DAVID LUKE, SOTU the TRAVELER, KOEN of BLOCNOTES, IllMIND, SAMIYAM, M-phazes, CROUP, MARVELOUS & ASTRONOTE + more. Only thing that is not for Certain yet is if this release will be titled "QUIT WORK MAKE MUSIC" or "THE NEXT FINAL FANTASY" either way it is my best work to date and my most personal and precious work, Ive been working on this project since 2004 and have Held off on releasing it for a number of releases (which I know producers hate) but I played my cards smart and I will win with the hand I have in the end thanks to my and everyone I worked with's patience.....

Its more than apparent that this single needs no attention from the HERO of Hobbyshops but Truth is I have always been A Fan of Clipse as well as Pharrel (The NEPTUNES / N.E.R.D.) now. I wasn't really feeling the last joint that was released by the Clipse that KAWS was involved w/ but Im really feeling this joint.... More so the Production! is on some Original Neptune, Pharrel type Flava.

Now, Im going to come off as A "Hater" but I dont get the hype around this KAWS cover and if you've been reading for a bit you already know that I am a BIG fan of KAWS artwork! but Im not going to go Ape Ish over Some Stock Fonts and A Cover that looks like it was made in POWER POINT in like 40 seconds.... You can't slap 2 Trademark Kaws "X"'s and get love.....

Im hoping that the Album Cover is done in more taste..... Like the KANYE'S "GRADUATION" cover..... That's on some ill ish right there!!!!!!

Anyway! Dope enough Song, but the whole Marketing Technique is kinda weak.....Not enough Effort was put into the collab for there to be soooo much hype around it. Now you wanna See A Dope Marketing / Music Collabo
