Choosing an artificial tree gives you a lot of advantages when compared with real trees:

First of all, an artificial tree is a lot easier to maintain. It doesn’t need any water, fertilizer or sunlight all it need is to be cleaned once in a while.

An artificial tree does not need to be cut down as it will always stay the same size. We all know how normal trees can overgrow your home and create undesired shadows. Something like that will not happen with an artificial tree.

Artificial trees can be planted everywhere. The climate doesn’t matter, you can have palm trees in Alaska if you want it (although it might look a bit out of this world).

There will be no problem with insects and other animals. You really have to be unlucky before your artificial tree becomes the nest of a disgusting bug colony.

Finally, you can easily move your tree around if its not to big or even pack it away for a few months. People bringing their trees with them when they move are not unheard of.

Most artificial tree look very life like, but for the ultimate experience it might be desirable to go for a preserved tree. While artificial trees are normally made of plastic, a preserved tree is made of natural materials around an empty trunk. The natural materials will even make the artificial tree smell the right way.

Sloped and hillside lawns and landscapes tend to develop dry dead spots during the hot part of the season. This is primarily due to water run off before it has a chance to saturate into the soil. Deep saturation is a key to a healthy lawns and plants. Deep watering helps establish deeper roots that can handle Summer heat stress.

Water that runs off or just barely breaks the surface, obviously does the lawn or landscape very little good. So how do you give landscaping and lawn on a slope better saturation?

Split your water cycle duration into two or three short cycles. If your water cycle is 30 minutes, you might split the cycle into three 10 minute cycles. So on watering days, you’ll run the system for the specified amount of time, let it soak for a few hours, then repeat this for the number of times needed.

To determine the exact amount of time needed, turn on the lawn sprinkler and watch for how long it takes for runoff to begin. This is the maximum of how long each cycle should be.

Dont just split your cycles into different days. You need deep saturation for healthier plants. Plants and lawns like infrequent deep waterings much more than frequent shallow waterings.

Landscaping and specimen plants on a hillside will also benefit from better saturation. Plants should be planted in larger holes filled with good soil that absorbs water easily. Also, dams and water wells should be built on the downhill side of the plant. This will help give the water time to soak straight down to the root zone before it runs off.

How you style a bathroom depends on a number of factors. First, there is the general style of your home. If everything in your home has a classic country sort of feel, having an ocean theme in your bathroom may seem out of place. Second, there’s the concept of the feel you want to create with the bathroom. For kids, you may choose a fun, cartoon theme; for those who are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, a place where it’s possible to fully unwind at the end of a long day, peaceful colors like those in a spa would be ideal.

Similarly, the types of colors that you’re like – along with the overall brightness of your bathroom – can determine whether you look for brightly colored accessories or those that are muted in color. Finally, there’s your personality, or the personality of the person who will be using the bathroom the most.

In general, there are four styles that are commonly used when accessorizing the bathroom – classy, muted, bright and fun.

In a classy bathroom, you may find yourself choosing bath accessories in muted colors, perhaps with a subtle floral tone. Toilet seat covers, towels, bath mats as wall as bath accessories for the counter – a soap dish or soap pump, a toothbrush holder and such – can all be coordinated with the shower curtain. You may start with a shower curtain that is a neutral color like beige with a rose colored embellishment and match the other bath accessories to the rose shade.

If instead you were trying to create a muted look in your bathroom, you’re likely to choose soft tones as well, but rather than a floral look, you may choose slightly more modern bath accessories like those that you might find at a spa retreat. Muted shades of green or blue, natural colors that resemble stone or clay are all good base colors for your bathroom. Consider a solid color shower curtain or one that is patchwork – squares of complementary colors. Choose a matching bath rug, bath towels, a toilet seat to match and simple chrome plated bath accessories.

Alternately, if bright, modern colors appeal to you, you’ll find that bright, single colored shower curtains, window dressings, bath towels and shower mats can create a crisp, modern look. From using a number of different bright, solid colors in your bathroom to choosing the same pieces that feature bright colors in geometric patters or simple stripes, you’ll find that you are able to bring the look of your bathroom together, to create a bright theme even if the items don’t necessarily match.

Using blocks of color can be fun, but for some it’s just not fun enough. Whether you’re accessorizing the bathroom for kids or just for those who are young at heart, sometimes you just feel playful. You may make the choice to use a bright, aquarium theme for your bathroom – tropical fish on the shower curtain, bright towels with a wave-like geometric pattern, a fish shaped bath mat or even an acrylic toilet seat designed to look like a fish bowl (complete with colorful fish). You might choose dolphins, or even cartoon characters as the central theme for your bathroom.

For example, someone who still carries a fondness for Betty Boop may decide to use the character as a theme for his or her bathroom. A Betty Boop shower curtain and bath accessories set with a toothbrush holder, a trash can and a soap dish could be used with red or black towels and a red or black bath mat and toilet seat.

Of course, these aren’t the only four styles for a bathroom; whatever your interests are, whatever inspires you, that’s going to be the foundation for decorating your bathroom. Whether you choose colorful flowers, solid colors, muted tones or something altogether different – a clean, modern look using all white for example – it’s the small details that bring it all together. Choosing bath towels that don’t quite fit in with your chosen color scheme, combining an aquarium theme toilet seat with a bamboo shower curtain: these things simply don’t create a cohesive look.

Fortunately, it’s easy to find bath accessories that will allow you to bring the whole look together – that is, once you decide what kind of look and feel you are looking to create.

Electric gates are made up of two main parts: the motor and the opener. There are also some accessories that you can use together with them. Knowing these will allow you to determine common electric gate problems.

Perhaps youve seen them, but you are just arent sure what they are made of. Electric gates are composed of some parts that help make them work. Its very important that you know about them, so when something happens to your gate, you can easily pinpoint the problem and conduct at least the most basic repair.

Common Parts of Electric Gates

There are two main parts that make up electric gates:

1. Electric gate motor. This is considered to be the most important component in your electric gates. This allows them to moveopen and closewithout any human intervention.

There are different kinds of motor for electric gates; and they vary in terms of where they are going to be used and the amount of power they generate. You cant expect the same motor to be installed in double-swing gate, in the same way that the motor used in a single swing is not the one you can find in the latter. Nevertheless, you have to main options as where you are going to place it. You can have it on the ground or, better yet, under it.

2. Electric gate openers. As the name suggests, openers are meant to help you open the gates. Before, there were only a few who can afford to add an opener in the gates. But with the integration of new technologies and their affordability, there are more and more people who are employing the use of electric gates at their own home.

There are various kinds of openers for electric gates; and they range from wireless to wired keypads, automated gate locks, or entry transmitters. What you are going to use is basically dependent on your preference. However, if you want the one that offers the best convenience, you can go for the entry transmitters. They make use of an RF (radio frequency) card that the person who wants to enter needs to swipe into the reader. Theres no need to press any more button, memorise any code, or wait much longer, which is the case with intercom systems.

Electric Gate Accessories
Aside from the regular parts, you can also add some more accessories to your electronic gate. One of these is the electronic timer. You can actually set a good time where you will grant a free pass to your gate. You simply need to set up the best time for it using the timer. It can run for as long as 20 hours and powered through a battery. You can also make use of a fire control switch key, especially when there is fire in your home, and your electronic gate is not working properly anymore.

Where to Buy Components for Electric Gates

There are a lot of options as to where you can purchase these parts. You can simply visit your local gate makers. Usually, they have at least the motor and the opener. You can also shop online, as there are a lot of people who are currently selling them right now.

1. Think of the project as a new diet.
Who doesnt want to lose at least five pounds? This is one way to do it. Between running to stores all day and evening long, meeting with contractors, inspecting the work, searching the Western world for the perfect light fixture, who has time to eat? Provided you dont sabotage this new, unorthodox diet plan, with McDonalds drive through, youre good for losing five pounds. If you are a masochistic type who does some of the work yourself whether it be painting, laying tile, landscaping the yard you can count on another five to ten pounds of weight loss. Just think, you may be miserable, frustrated, exhausted, nd down right cynical about the good of the humankind, but your
jeans will fit nicely!

2. Write checks as aerobic exercise.
These workouts are great for toning the wrist and fingers. Usually done in hectic spurts as you race out the door in the morning while the contractors are breathing down your neck and your kids are beating each other with the lunch boxes you just prepared, the stress and frantic activity are sure to raise your heartbeat for a good hour. Grumbling under your breath that the plumber, electrician, or you name it, isnt really worth this much money adds greater intensity and calorie burn to this little publicized exercise regime.

3. Save money through shopping burnout
Yes, even the most die-hard shopper will come to dread setting foot in any store. This affliction starts innocently enough as you go to look for light fixtures. How hard can it be? Hard! Either the light you want is being shipped from Yugoslavia and wont arrive until your youngest child buys his own home, or you just cant find the one you want. Youll shop every lighting and electrical store you know. Youll search Home Depot. Youll haunt hardware stores. And then theres plumbing fixtures. Sink centers, faucet handles, finishes, special orders. Whats all that about? And the cost. Youd think you were outfitting the palace for a former third world dictator. Of course, theres carpet, tile, hardwood, stairs, siding, windows. Enough already. And you thought it was a pain picking mints and sweet
table treats for your wedding.

After your 1000th trip to Home Depot (or Lowes or Menards or whatever), in addition to all the other trips youve made for items that shouldnt count as shopping (toilet seats, for example), youve had it. Your friends wont be able to bribe you to check out the latest sale at Bloomingdales. Youll think it will be better when you can pick out fun things like paint, wall paper, drapes, fabric, furniture but dont bet on it. At this point, the pressure to make your home look like something other than an empty rat maze will counteract any joy in shopping. Spending this much money has never been such a miserable experience. As a result, when your home becomes half-way presentable, youll refuse to shop again even for groceries for at least six months. The money you save during this shopping hiatus will be sufficient for you to resume this previously pleasurable past time
once more without guilt.

4. Impress your friends with obscure facts.
Only someone that has built or remodeled their home can explain the fluid dynamics of a proper toilet water swirl. Or cite the International Building Code that calls for no more than 6 between electrical outlets. Or brag that triple glazed windows are really the wave of the future for light emitting device technology. See what I mean?

5. Pride yourself on your new creative skills.
Youll discover a creative side that you never knew existed. Like how to wash dishes in the bath tub. And how to make a full course meal for a family of four using nothing more than a toaster and hot plate. Or how to fit an entire family in a house smaller than your first apartment. They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Thats probably true, but I also think that the only thing that separates modern and pioneer life is just one kitchen or bath remodeling project.

6. Yell at someone other than your kids and not feel guilty.
Honestly, as a modern woman trying to juggle the running of our homes, possibly a job, and the future Olympic soccer aspirations of our children, you have the primal need to yell. At someone. Anyone. Often our spouse and children suffer from this need of ours to release pent up negative energy generated from nothing more than some miniature human leaving smelly gym shoes on the kitchen table. (Ok, that probably deserves a bit of yelling we eat at this table!) But when you remodel your house, you have a whole cast of characters and believe me, theyre characters that often deserve a good scream from time to time. Like when they tell you that they tore out the fireplace because they didnt think it looked right. Or when they show you a mistake made three weeks ago that now requires half the house to be torn down in order to fix. Yelling isnt immature or a result of too much estrogen, its therapy.

7. Throw out (finally) your significant others treasured [fill in the blank] from his bachelor days.
You know what I mean. It could be the semi-nude poster he wont get rid of. Or his collection of exotic beer cans. Or all of his Sports Illustrated magazines since the Chicago Bears last won the Superbowl. Now is the perfect time to get rid of it. If you need to move out of your house while the remodeling is done, or you are moving to a new home, such an opportune time may never occur again. Say it wont fit in the rental house. Its either this or his golf clubs. Gently remind him that the sentimental item really serves as a reminder of his advancing years. Anything. Get rid of it. It will be one positive you can remind yourself of when the stress of remodeling makes you feel that this project was the biggest mistake of your life.

8. Grow closer to your family through forced bathroom sharing.
The saying goes that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Perhaps that wise pundit had to share a closet sized bathroom with three kids and a spouse. In reality, theres no greater way to create intimacy in a family than by all trying to get ready for the morning in the same 7x 5 space. Youll learn new exciting things about your children like toilet paper is purely optional for little boys. Youll discover that there is no bond quite like the one created when the entire family brushes their teeth together over the same sink. Youll realize why the older generation of your relatives only washed their hair once a week instead of facing communal bathroom time. But most importantly, youll no longer need to yell at your kids to hurry up for school theyre standing right next to you.

9. Earn free flights from all of your purchases.
In what is admittedly (and somewhat sheepishly) the only practical survival tip on this list, get an airline mileage credit card. Charge everything on it lights, plumbing fixtures, windows, doors, lumber, carpet. The windows alone can get you close to one free trip. Whether you decide to share your miles with anyone else in the family or to escape on your own to a world of quiet solitude and, preferably, an open bar, is entirely up to you.

10. Hire some good looking contractors and feel like youre 15 years old again.
Hey, guys get a whole chain of restaurants and bars where the main attraction is busty waitresses in tight t-shirts (Hooters). Why cant us gals have some eye candy once in a while? Besides, its a productivity tool. Youll be more likely to inspect the job or meet the architect if some young, fit, good-looking men are there especially in the summer months when shirts tend to become optional. For example, we once hired a roofing crew of male model wannabees for a house we built. My husband called them the Beefcake Roofers. They created quite a stir in the neighborhood that summer. Let me tell you, it made rushing to stop by the house to go over notes with the trades first thing in the morning a bit more interesting and much more fun!

Finally, remember, the end result of your new house will be worth the aggravation of the process. Plus, think of all the good stories you can tell!

Does the mere sight of fresh flowers make you sneeze? Are you like the many thousands of people that are allergic to the pollen in flowers? Do you like colourful pretty things around you? If so then read on

Its quite sad to say, but there are thousands if not millions of people who can not enjoy the both the sight and scent of having a bunch of flowers around the home or office for fear that they will end up with a running nose and/or itchy eyes.

So what is the solution? Yes you guessed artificial flowers!. Not only do artificial flowers stop you sneezing but they can last forever if you look after them, and as such will save you more money in the long run so that you have more money in your pocket.

Today there are many homes, hotels, offices and restaurants that use the alternative to real flowers. Artificial flowers if arranged correctly can give any environment a touch of elegance without the hassle of all the maintenance one would expect with real flowers and plants. (i.e. no watering, no having to change the water regularly, and as such no spillages).

Not only can you get artificial flowers, but also plants and trees. So if you want something a little large in order to decorate a room or office then this could be the answer for you.

So what are the advantages and disadvantages to Artificial flowers:

Advantages
No insects
No spillages to clean up
You have the option to change them around when you feel like it (thus making it look like you have a new arrangement)
Low maintenance (a quick wash now and again)
No more worries about who will look after them, if you go away on holiday
Cheaper than buying fresh flowers every week

Disadvantages
Of course everything has a downside, and although your flowers are artificial you will still need to keep then dust free and clean. So an occasional wash in soapy water should do the trick.

Where can you buy them?

There are lots of sources for buying artificial flowers nowadays, which include the following:
Florist, Garden Centre, Department stores, and even your local Supermarket.

The can be purchased individually so that you can create your own arrangement that will suit your particular needs, or you can ask for them to be arranged for you.

So goodbye to those sneezes and itchy eyes I feel we have a solution do you?

Before growing Hibiscus, a fair amount of planning is required. Do you want to grow them in your garden, use them for landscaping or hedging or keep them pots that can be kept indoors or out? What size and type of plant do you want?

Potted culturing has to be confined to the smaller varieties. For outdoors, the size is dependent on the use. Large types are ideal for landscaping. Those used as hedges can be medium in size. If you want the Hibiscus to blend with other plants in the garden, smaller ones are ideal. For bonsai, use old, compact plants with small leaves.

Check with nurseries or other growers in your area to ascertain which species is best suited for you. You cannot be sure of the color of the flowers unless a plant you purchase is in bloom. There are plants that give common but romantic five petal singles or ones with double layers.

First time gardeners should purchase the right gardening tools, accessories, and perhaps a book on the subject of “growing Hibiscus”.

When growing Hibiscus, choose a sunny spot. The plant is tolerant to many conditions, but thrives in sandy soil with some organic content and slight acidity. Planting materials can be obtained from a nursery.

The propagation is through cuttings, hybrid-grafting and, in the case of certain species, through germinated seeds. Germinated seeds might not have all the characteristics of the mother plant.

The plant has to be watered until it establishes. Moisture retention is important, and mulching helps this. Water the potted plants from the top and not at the base. Proper fertilizing is important, but remember that excessive nitrogen will promote vegetative growth and may not help the flowering. Pesticides, insecticides and fungicides may have to be used depending on the need. It is best to opt for organic products including fertilizers. Make sure that you follow the label instructions.

Hibiscus growing is highly relaxing and satisfying.

India is a place of different kinds of handicraft and handcrafted statues and sculptures from the ancient age. Centuries old temples and civilizations are founded in India with a unique sample of handicraft reflecting artistic beauty. Specially the temples in South India bears this great old history of Indian handicraft, as you can see different types of hand curving statues and sculptures in the wall of these temples. All these old temples especially in chennai, kerala, hariyana attracts the people through the beauty of statues and figures made on the wall. For example dancing lady which is normally known as “Nartaki”, “Nataraj”,”Laxmi”,”Ganesh or ganesha”,”Shiva and parbati”, Shri Krishna and Radha Ji”, “Goutam Buddha” are as religious god statues. Different animal figures are also made, like running horse, lion, tiger etc. The centuries old temples and other historic items prove the capacity of the artisans about making statues and sculptures for home decoration and expressing the social life story of that time. In the old ages the King’s made those temples and different handicraft in their kingdom. They inspire the artists to make such stone curving items on the body of temple. They mainly make the statues based on the holy story from Hindu community. A great example is Nataraj. Nataraj is a style of God Shiva. Shiva as destructor as well as creator of the civilization. We inspired from this old culture to make the statues and sculptures as home decoration items. We also just follow the styles of those kings life style. They make statues for home and garden decor; even on those days the people make decoration on the wall of there home. Mainly stone is used on that time to make home, temple everything. So what they do is, they make different statue, sculpture of different god and goddess of Hindu religion on the wall by curving the stone. So we also make this handcrafted statues and sculptures in brass, bronze and stone. Actually “Art” refers to a huge range of human activity. It is a way or medium to express the emotion, nature and lifestyle. We can say that art exist from the first day of human civilization starts. The concept of home decoration through statue and sculptures is also a long days story. We can see the samples of different hand crafted statues, wall decoration in centuries old civilization like Nalanda, Mahenzodaro and Harappa. On that time people use the stonewall of their home and temples to make different decorative statues. The use of Brass and bronze is also a long history. The historians find a lot useful story and proof from this wall decoration. This artistic works is also represents the culture of those peoples. So, finally what we can say that, the history of handicraft in India is very long. Even one greater sample of handicraft is Taj mahal itself. Today it is considered as the best wonders all over the world. So we can easily say that Indian handicraft has a long golden story from the centuries.

1. The easiest way to jazz up your outdoor deck or patio is by using splashes of color. Sometimes it only means investing in a few accent pieces that make a bold statement and your outdoor living space perks right up. You don’t always have to buy new with a little elbow grease and some creativity you can make second hand items look brand new. Here are some ideas to help get you started.

2. Before you begin, clear everything off of your deck or patio and give it a good pressure wash. If it needs staining, all the new furniture in the world won’t help bite the bullet and give it a new coat of stain or paint. This is actually a great place to get started with colorful accents. Try painting your fence posts a bright, coordinating color such as teal. Or paint a pattern or border around the edge of your deck.

3. Decks are for socializing, so show that you are ready for company. The addition of metal furniture is inexpensive and comes in lots of great colors. Place a colorful bar cart in the corner and load it up with bright acrylic glassware.

4. Give your old wicker furniture a facelift by painting it in bright sunny colors, or if you’re feeling adventuress, use a stencil and add flowers or other patterns. Just use acrylic paint, but seal it with varnish to protect your paint job.

5. Get a hold of a galvanized bucket or oblong container, paint it bright blue or orange and add a vine pattern on the outside. Voila, now you have a fancy ice-bucket for all your coolers. Remember, unless you’re using a food-safe paint, the surface should not come in direct contact with food.

6. Use themes such as the seashore, by incorporating fishies, sea shells and beach balls in your accents or stencils. A citrus theme works well by using pale greens, oranges and yellow as colors for chairs or bistro tables. Try painting a slatted table top with two or three different corresponding shades.

7. Who says garden sheds have to be brown and boring. Add colorful window boxes, gingerbread trim and some wild stripes on the walls.

8. Funky lighting goes a long way to perking up a patio area. Colorful lanterns or strings of lights can be hung from overhanging trees or beams providing a fun, economical source of lighting.

9. What to do with the white vinyl furniture that’s still in great shape, but you hate to get rid of? Not to worry. With paint specially formulated for vinyl furniture, and some new cushions, you can make your old chairs look brand new.

10. Use color wisely by tying everything together with your accessories. Take four chairs each painted in a different primary color and add a cushion in a common color such as red or green, and place them around a neutral table top.
