The opening marks the <strong>brand’s 14th restaurant across India,</strong> bringing its signature high-energy, share-style dining experience to the city’s western suburbs.</p><p class="">Set in the heart of Sky City Mall, Borivali, the 4,400 sq. ft. restaurant accommodates 100 guests and enjoys prime visibility from surrounding corridors. The double-height outdoor dining area serves as a focal point, drawing visitors inward, while a sculptural sequence of repeating arches unifies indoor and outdoor zones and establishes the restaurant’s identity. The outdoor space is designed as a softened landscape with organic seating, minimal finishes, and curated greenery, balancing the mall’s angular geometry. The indoor area offers a refined, intimate setting with layered finishes, fixed seating along slanted walls, and flexible loose seating. At Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, the Surfing Champions Trophy is confirmed to return to the legendary Sultans break from September 4 to 11, 2026, and with it comes the promise of world-class surfing, sun-bleached evenings, and the kind of access that rarely exists anywhere else on earth.</p><p class="">Now entering its 14th edition, the Surfing Champions Trophy is one of the most singular events in sport: an invitation-only gathering of surfing's finest, competing across three board disciplines (single fin, twin fin and thruster) at one of the Maldives' well-known reef breaks, with Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa as the garden-island base for competitors, judges and guests alike.</p><p class="">The 2026 line-up will be announced in waves in the months ahead. Now is the time to start watching the horizon.</p><p class=""><strong>Where Surfing Royalty Comes to Compete</strong></p><p class="">The inaugural Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy was brought to life in 2011, reimagining how surfing events are run. Since then, Sultans has hosted a roll call of surfing royalty that reads like a Hall of Fame induction ceremony.</p><p class="">The inaugural event saw Mark Occhilupo win all three divisions before defeating world longboard champion Josh Constable in the Grand Champions Final, and the standard has never dipped since. The champions who followed are a who's who of surfing's most decorated names: Damien Hardman in 2012, Taylor Knox in 2013, Dave "Rasta" Rastovich in 2014 and, Shane Dorian in 2015, Taj Burrow in both 2016 and 2017, Josh Kerr back-to-back in 2018 and 2019, Kelly Slater in 2022, Joel Parkinson in 2023, and Taj Burrow again in 2024, claiming a remarkable third title overall.</p><p class="">From the outset, the event drew the who's who of surfing to Kuda Huraa's shores. Over thirteen editions, the field has included five-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist Carissa Moore, big wave pioneer Maya Gabeira, surfing legends Tom Curren, Rob Machado and Layne Beachley, inspirational icon Bethany Hamilton, and stylists Mikey February, Jeremy Flores and Jadson Andre, to name just a few. Each year brings a different cast with a consistently high level of competition.</p><p class=""><strong>2025: The Year "The Spartan" Refused to Quit</strong></p><p class="">If the 2026 edition is to match the 2025 event, it will need something special. Tahitian powerhouse Michel Bourez defied injury to claim victory at the 2025 Surfing Championship Trophy, stunning spectators by winning both the thruster division and the grand final only 24 hours after tearing his hamstring in the twin fin division. He scored the event's only perfect 10 in the last minute of the grand final, a moment that will take some topping.</p><p class="">Australian Olympian Owen Wright, Jesse Mendes of Brazil, free-surfing pioneer Craig Anderson, and Maldivian wildcard Ismail "Smiley" Rasheed rounded out a field that delivered one of the most memorable editions in the trophy's history.</p><p class=""><strong>The Surf's Up Package: For Those Who Want in on the Action</strong></p><p class="">Watching legends surf is one thing. Surfing alongside them is quite another. The airline will also launch new services to Shenzhen and Changsha, China, starting July 2026, bringing its China network to nine destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Chengdu Tianfu.   <p class=""><strong><em>Bamboo shoots, </em></strong>also known as “the king of forest vegetables “and also called bamboo sprouts, are edible shoots of the bamboo species. They are crisp, tender and comparable to asparagus and have a flavour very close to corn. Bamboo shoots have been used in Asian cuisine for a long time in soups, salads, stir-fry dishes and more. However, fresh bamboo shoots are a seasonal delicacy, but in several countries like America and a few others, freshly frozen shoots are imported from places like China, Taiwan and Thailand, the canned and tinned varieties are available all year round at supermarkets and food stores across India as well.&nbsp;</p><p class="">The bamboo plant is a member of the grass family, and after about 3-4 years of implantation, these shoots arise from beneath the existing ones, and that’s how they grow and develop. They are then picked, cleaned, checked for quality and graded and processed further or sold fresh. Cooking bamboo shoots requires that they are well-cooked or boil them/blanch them partially if being used fresh, or else opening a tin/can of bamboo shoots is ready to use without much to do.</p><p class="">Bamboo shoots apparently are not very popular when we talk of indian cuisine or our regular recipes with masala blends and gravies/curries, etc. However, this ingredient has seen a limited acceptance on our menus, with a very limited choice of guests/foodies who like to indulge in it. To many, it is yet not well-known, or the familiarity process has not yet been done well.&nbsp;</p><p class="">My very own experience with bamboo shoots dates back around fifteen years ago, when I first had it in a Chinese stir-fry recipe with hot garlic and pepper sauce. The first impression in the cooked and well-presented form was a wow but upon finding out more about it and actually doing it from scratch was a completely different mild and distinctive taste, flavor melange which led to a positive output driven experiment series with a lot of scope for innovation and creativity attached.</p><p class=""><strong>Let us have a look at a few Health Benefits of Bamboo Shoots:</strong></p><ul data-rte-list="default"><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots have been regarded as a great ingredient for immunity boosting, they have a considerable amount of vitamins and minerals to benefit.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots are also good for those who want to go on a weight loss program and diet and it works well too.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots are very low in fats and calories therefore they are recommended for a lot many healthy recipes and they also make us feel full after consumption.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots have a high content of protein which is essentially required by us on day to day basis and this is one of the ways we can have a variety as well.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots are also good for digestion in our body and they also help in healthy and regular bowel movements and prevent constipation.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots are also low in sugar content and hence make it a good choice for many to have it including those who may be on the border line of diabetes, besides they also help reduce dissolve the harmful LDL cholesterol in our body.</p></li></ul><p class=""><br><br><br></p><p class=""><strong>Here are a few ideas on how to use Bamboo Shoots [ tinned or canned] in Cooking and Baking:</strong></p><ul data-rte-list="default"><li><p class="">Adding sliced or diced bamboo sheets to a nice piping hot clear soup or broth works well during rainy season as well. Add your favorite colorful veggies or boiled chicken cubes along as well to the bowl of goodness.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots go well in salads, they can be dressed with a combination of saute mushrooms, blanched baby corn, cooked yellow or green zucchini, can also use boiled pasta like macaroni, penne etc. for dressings we can choose from olive oil with mustard/lemon- herbs or with a light mayo-mint dressing, for low-cal use green yogurt or hung curd with date and nut basil pesto.</p></li><li><p class="">I also like adding bamboo shoots to my stuffings and fillings for several dishes be it indian style malai koftas- stuff the koftas with small dices of bamboo shoots with a little grated paneer/cheese and some chat masala.</p></li><li><p class="">A stuffing for a paratha as well works well with bamboo shoots I prefer it with a little cooked soy keema and green peas combination in my whole-wheat double layered paratha option.</p></li><li><p class="">Bamboo shoots are good to add to a wok toss recipe with a selection to go with prawns/shrimps/ shredded chicken/ lamb etc as well, cook it with a little ginger-garlic, onions, sliced chilies, some soy-chili/ garlic-pepper sauce/schezuan sauce etc.</p></li><li><p class="">Adding bamboo shoots to fried rice/ stir fried hakka noodles or into a white/red or pink pasta recipe does a good job and a combination as well adding value and nutrition as well side by side.   <p class=""><strong>Recipe-1] CURRIED BAMBOO SHOOT SOUP</strong></p><p class=""><strong>Ingredients</strong></p><p class="">Bamboo shoots- tinned- 1 cup, roughly cut</p><p class="">Oil-1 tsp</p><p class="">Butter-1 tsp</p><p class="">Garlic- 1 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Onion-1 small chopped</p><p class="">Green chili-1 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Carrots-1/2 no cubes</p><p class="">French beans- 4-5 no cut&nbsp;</p><p class="">Fresh basil leaves- 8-10 no</p><p class="">For non-veg- boneless chicken cubes-1/2 cup</p><p class="">For non-veg- shrimps/prawns-3/4th cup</p><p class="">Salt and crushed pepper to taste</p><p class="">Water/veg/chicken/fish stock- 2-3 cups</p><p class="">Thai curry paste-2 tsp- red/green/yellow</p><p class="">Coconut milk- 1 cup thick</p><p class="">Corn flour- 2 tsp solution to thicken</p><p class="">Coriander leaves-2 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Lime juice- 1 tsp add and serve</p><p class="">Method:</p><p class="">1. Prepare all the ingredients for the curried bamboo shoot soup.</p><p class="">2. Heat oil and butter in a pan add in the garlic, chilies and onions and saute for a few seconds. Add in the assorted veggies and non-veg ingredients as desired and saute for a minute, then add in the bamboo shoots and mix.</p><p class="">3. Add in the curry paste, seasonings to taste, water or stock to allow proper cooking of the veggies etc in the soup for 10-12 mins on a medium flame.</p><p class="">4. Prepare all the ingredients for the bamboo shoot pot recipe.</p><p class="">2. Heat oil in a pan add in the garlic, onion, chilies and saute for a few seconds, add in the assorted vegetables/non-veg ingredients as per choice and saute them for 1-2 mins.</p><p class="">3. Add in the bamboo shoots and boiled noodles and mix in well, add more stock or water to adjust the texture as desired, now add in the corn flour solution and slightly thicken the pot ingredients, garnish with greens and serve hot as a one meal dish with accompanying sauces.</p><p class=""><br><strong>Recipe-3] WARM BAMBOO SHOOT SALAD</strong></p><p class=""><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p><p class="">Bamboo shoots- tinned- 6- 8 no roughly cut</p><p class="">Baby corn- 4-5 no cut into sticks</p><p class="">Green/yellow zucchini- 1 cup cut into sticks</p><p class="">Chicken- 1 cup shredded for non-veg</p><p class="">Firm Tofu- ½ cup cut into long strips for veg</p><p class="">Sprouts- 1 cup</p><p class="">Salt and pepper to taste</p><p class="">Honey- 1 tsp</p><p class="">Oil/olive oil- 2 tsp</p><p class="">White vinegar-1 tsp</p><p class="">Green/red chili sauce- 2 tsp</p><p class="">Mixed herbs-1/2 tsp</p><p class="">Garlic- 1 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Ginger- 1 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Green chilies- 2 no slit</p><p class="">Water/stock-1/2 cup</p><p class="">Lime juice- 2 tsp</p><p class="">Peanut butter- 2 tsp</p><p class="">Crushed roasted peanuts- 2 tbsp.</p><p class="">Assorted fresh herbs/greens-1/4 cup</p><p class="">Method:</p><p class="">1. Prepare all the ingredients for this cooked warm salad.</p><p class="">2. Heat oil in a pan and add in the ginger, garlic, chili, all the choice of veggies/non-veg ingredients as desired and saute for a couple of minutes.</p><p class="">3. Add in little water/stock and allow to cook on a medium flame for 4-6 mins or until just done and tender.</p><p class="">4.   <p class=""><strong>Recipe-4] SHRIMP AND BAMBOO SHOOT PILAF&nbsp;</strong></p><p class=""><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p><p class="">Bamboo shoots-tinned- 6-8 pieces, roughly cut</p><p class="">Basmati/short grain rice- 1 cup soaked for 15 mins.</p><p class="">Oil-1 tsp</p><p class="">Butter- 1 tsp</p><p class="">Bayleaf-1 no</p><p class="">Peppercorns- 4-5 no</p><p class="">Onion-1/2 no chopped</p><p class="">Salt and crushed black pepper to taste</p><p class="">Mixed herbs-1/2 tsp</p><p class="">Chili flakes-1/2 tsp</p><p class="">Water/shrimp stock/veg stock</p><p class="">Assorted veggies like carrots/beans/peas/cauliflower can be used for the veg variety.</p><p class="">Grated cheese- 2 tbsp.</p><p class="">Cream-2 tsp</p><p class="">Fresh herbs/greens/nuts/seeds for garnish.</p><p class="">Method:</p><p class="">1. Prepare all the ingredients for the bamboo shoot and shrimp pilaf rice.</p><p class="">2. Heat oil and butter in a pan add in the Bayleaf, peppercorns, garlic, onion and saute for a few seconds, add in the cleaned, washed and soaked and drained rice into the pan and saute for a couple of mins.</p><p class="">3. Add in the cleaned shrimps and salt, pepper, herbs, chili flakes as per taste and mix well, now add in double the quantity of stock and mix, simmer cover and allow the rice to cook.</p><p class="">4.   <p class=""><br><strong>Recipe- 5] SPROUTS AND SHOOTS STIR FRIED NOODLES</strong></p><p class=""><strong>Ingredients</strong></p><p class="">Bamboo shoots- 6-8 no roughly cut – tinned variety.</p><p class="">Oil-2 tsp</p><p class="">Garlic- 1 tsp chopped</p><p class="">Ginger-1 tsp shredded</p><p class="">Red and green chilies- 2-3 each slit/shredded</p><p class="">Onion-1 no sliced.</p><p class="">French beans-4-5 shred/sliced</p><p class="">Mushrooms-1/2 cup sliced</p><p class="">Celery- 1 stalk- cut into slices</p><p class="">Green capsicum-1/2 no shredded</p><p class="">Sprouts-1 cup</p><p class="">Salt and pepper to taste</p><p class="">Soy sauce- 2 tsp</p><p class="">White vinegar-2 tsp</p><p class="">Green chili sauce- 2 tsp</p><p class="">White sesame seeds- 2 tsp toasted.</p><p class="">Peanut butter- 2 tsp</p><p class="">Honey-1 tsp</p><p class="">Sugar-1 pinch</p><p class="">Spring onion greens-2 tbsp. Chopped for garnish.</p><p class="">Shredded double fried egg- 1-2 no- optional for garnish.</p><p class="">Method:</p><p class="">1. Prepare all the ingredients for the stir fried noodles.</p><p class="">2. Heat oil in a wok/pan and saute the ginger, garlic, chilies, onions, celery for a minute.</p><p class="">3. Add in the assorted vegetables, sprouts and seasonings, sauces as per taste and add a little water/stock just to enable the peanut butter to blend in well and the veggies getting cooked up a little too.</p><p class="">4. Add in the honey, sesame seeds, little sugar to balance and the boiled noodles and give it a nice toss in the pan and add in the bamboo shoots as well, cook it all for 4-5 mins over a medium flame.</p><p class="">5. According to&nbsp;<strong>the Honourable Mr. Shambhuraj Desai, Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra</strong>, the festival is expected to give a significant boost to tourism in the area, further strengthening the local economy. He also stated that this initiative will help showcase the region's cultural richness, natural beauty, and adventure tourism opportunities to a wider audience. Additionally, he appealed to all citizens, farmers, tourists, and entrepreneurs to participate in large numbers and help make the festival a huge success.</p><p class="">On April 2, the festival will start with a Shahiri Powada event. On April 3, a Bhajani Mandal event is scheduled. On April 4, a thrilling Brass Band event is scheduled, while on April 5, the Lavani Festival will be held. Along with these cultural events, tourists will also have the chance to participate in a variety of recreational activities, including fun fairs, boating, horse riding, paragliding, and camel safaris.</p><p class="">Other attractions of the festival include the carnival, weapons exhibition, electric buggy ride, carnival parade, agricultural exhibition, food festival, animal and bird shows. There will also be special exhibition areas for women's self-help groups. These areas will allow women to exhibit and sell their products.</p><p class="">Additionally, health and wellness tourism activities, such as yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic therapies, will be held during the festival.   <p class="">Marriott International, Inc. today announced the signing of a landmark agreement with KS Hotels to introduce The Luxury Collection to Cambodia and Laos through the conversion of two storied boutique hotels: La Résidence Angkor in Siem Reap and La Résidence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang. The agreement is set to mark Marriott’s entry in Laos and the debut of The Luxury Collection in both countries.</p><p class="">Long regarded as icons within their respective destinations, both properties are set to undergo thoughtful enhancements to align with The Luxury Collection’s global standards while preserving their architectural character, cultural authenticity, and longstanding heritage. The properties’ anticipated entries into the brand’s curated portfolio signal a new chapter, bringing internationally recognized luxury to properties deeply rooted in place.</p><p class="">“This signing marks a defining milestone for Marriott International, as it represents the company’s debut hotel in Laos and the entry of The Luxury Collection in two inspiring, culturally-rich destinations,” said <strong>Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International</strong>. “Perfect for discerning global explorers, these properties are set to blend architectural grace and locally-inspired design. As part of our global portfolio, these properties will continue to celebrate their cultural identity while offering guests the elevated service and immersive experiences that define The Luxury Collection.”</p><p class=""><strong>La Résidence Phou Vao, a Luxury Collection Resort &amp; Spa, Luang Prabang</strong></p><p class="">Expected to debut in October 2026, La Résidence Phou Vao will join The Luxury Collection as one of Luang Prabang’s most distinctive hilltop retreats. Set within expansive tropical gardens overlooking the UNESCO-protected old town, golden temples, and the Mekong River, the property has long been regarded as a sanctuary of tranquility in the former royal capital of Laos.</p><p class="">Following the transition, it is expected to feature 41 spacious rooms and suites adorned with traditional Lao craftsmanship, refined materials, and private balconies or patios framing views of the surrounding hills. Scheduled enhancements are slated to further elevate guests’ experience while safeguarding the property’s architectural identity.</p><p class="">Culinary plans include the anticipated opening of ‘La Brasserie de la Résidence’, bringing together classic French bistro cuisine and an exploratory Lao menu, complemented by open kitchens and a poolside terrace that frames views towards the golden temple of Mount Phousi. Other planned hotel facilities include an outdoor pool, fitness center, an outdoor yoga deck, and Spa, a newly introduced wellness sanctuary. Two meeting rooms and a curated retail boutique are also slated to complete the refreshed offering.</p><p class="">Nestled at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, Luang Prabang remains one of Southeast Asia’s most culturally preserved cities. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is defined by French colonial architecture, saffron-robed monks, sacred monasteries, and enduring spiritual traditions. The destination is served by Luang Prabang International Airport (approximately 4.9 km from the hotel) and the Luang Prabang Railway Station (approximately 11.6 km away), offering high-speed regional connections.</p><p class=""><strong>La Résidence Angkor, a Luxury Collection Resort &amp; Spa, Siem Reap</strong></p><p class="">Scheduled to debut within The Luxury Collection in October 2027, La Résidence Angkor is set to further strengthen Marriott’s presence in Cambodia. A low-rise property, located along the Siem Reap River at the gateway to Angkor, this property has long been a distinguished address for travelers seeking proximity to the Angkor Archaeological Park.</p><p class="">The property is slated to offer 59 thoughtfully appointed rooms, including 14 spacious suites ranging from 40 to 126 square meters, each enriched with refined classical Cambodian design elements, blending heritage with contemporary comfort. Plans also include featuring three exclusive residences fitted with private outdoor pools, providing an elevated level of privacy and luxury.</p><p class="">Dining at La Résidence Angkor anticipates spanning a rich spectrum of epicurean experiences, from the alfresco elegance of La Brasserie de La Résidence to Khmer Funk, a street-accessed eatery buzzing with Mekong Regional flavors, alongside a café, an Explorer’s-themed cocktail lounge, and a pool bar. Other planned guest facilities include an outdoor pool, fitness center, and Spa, a new addition to the property featuring six treatment rooms, hydrothermal facilities, and a relaxation lounge.   <p class="">With <em>Flavours of 2026</em>, Helen’s Place explores how comfort food evolves as it travels, moving from Malabar to Madrid, Osaka to Canton. Each dish is shaped by inspiration rather than imitation, where nostalgic flavours are layered with bold textures, high-impact ingredients, and inventive twists. The result is a menu that feels recognisable at heart, yet refreshed with a new, expressive point of view.</p><p class="">Designed by Abhrajyoti Nandy, Executive Chef at Helen’s Place, the menu stays true to the brand’s philosophy of restraint and respect for ingredients. Flavours are layered with intent, using elements like pickle glaze, mango-chili, chimichurri, truffle, and ghee roast to create depth without overwhelming the palate. Curated as a series of small, shareable plates with a social energy, the menu invites discovery across cities, cultures, and cravings, where every bite feels recognizable, yet entirely new.</p><p class="">Highlights include the wok-tossed chicken with mustard-pickle glaze, offering a bold, tangy depth, and the salmon ceviche with mango and chilli, which adds brightness and lift. Regional flavours come through in the Malabar ghee roast prawns with paratha, and the coastal cafreal prawns, layered with spice and richness. The tenderloin with mushroom ragù cream and chimichurri balances indulgence with freshness, while avocado corn crunch with green pea hummus introduces a lighter, textured element.   <p class=""><br><strong>Milan, 2026 –</strong> Renowned Italian architect Stefano Tardito has been awarded the prestigious Rēgula 2025 Award in the Hospitality category for his exceptional restoration of the historic complex known as BORGO DI MONCHIERO, located in the heart of the renowned Langhe region of Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo. This complex project aims to create BORGO MONCHIERO HERITAGE by Atmosphere, the first Italian hotel by international group Atmosphere Core.&nbsp;</p><p class="">The award was presented during the eighth edition of the Rēgula | 100 Italian Projects Award, which celebrates Italian architecture, design, and creativity every year, promoting discussion on the themes of innovation, urban regeneration, and environmental sustainability.</p><p class="">Stefano Tardito’s work on Borgo Monchiero project was recognised as a skilful example of the conversion of an ancient, 18th-century monastic and religious complex into a refined heritage hospitality destination. The jury praised the project for its creativity in integrating aesthetics and technology, and expressing to the world the quality of Italian culture combined with the ability to innovate the history of engineering, architecture and design.</p><p class="">Reflecting on the recognition, Stefano Tardito said, "<em>This is a truly ambitious project based on a delicate balance between conservation and enhancement, guided by authentic historical research and technological innovation. The result is a harmonious encounter between past and present that allows the monastery to preserve its historical authenticity while evolving into immersive and seductive spaces where guests can enjoy unique experiences. The Borgo will thus be reborn and become an exceptional narrator of its past</em>".</p><p class="">The award received further increases anticipation for the official opening of BORGO MONCHIERO HERITAGE BY ATMOSPHERE, which marks the first step in the European expansion of Atmosphere Core. The group's first property in Italy is in the heart of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a landscape of extraordinary beauty.</p><p class="">Borgo Monchiero owners Franco Giampetruzzi and Gian Maria Debenedetti shared their delight at the recognition, saying “<em>This recognition celebrates skilful restoration and conversion by architect Stefano Tardito and enduring spirit of the property, and we are proud of his achievements. It reinforces our commitment to preserving its heritage while welcoming a new chapter</em>”.</p><p class="">Guests will experience the Rēgula-recognised restoration firsthand through thoughtfully preserved architectural details, tranquil cloisters and panoramic viewpoints woven into contemporary comforts.</p><p class="">Located on a hill overlooking the vineyards and surrounding hills, the resort is a charming residence that combines premium services, tranquility, and authenticity of the territory. The property has 19 rooms with timeless design, converted from ancient monastic cells, complemented by the ancient private chapel, which serves as a charming multi-purpose room (also suitable for intimate ceremonies), a restaurant with a wine room dedicated to local cuisine, and an elegant lounge bar located in the ancient frescoed rooms overlooking the large panoramic swimming pool in the front garden.
