A Farewell to the old

Hey Hubsters!

Exciting news post today! After months of preperation and work, we are ready to launch the new and improved Hub website!

This site had served us well over the years, but as the company has grown, hosting more and more events each year, so has the website and unfortunately we have outgrown the current setup. So after much deliberation, we decided to start from scratch with a complete rebuild and revamp. The new, sleeker design will hopefully be a little more user friendly than what we have now and shake the cobwebs off some of the great content that we have here on the site, by making it all a little easier to find! We'll miss this place though and we'd like to say a big thanks to the original Hub webmistress - Liz, for all her hard work over the years.

What this means for you Hubsters, is that starting this Saturday, some of you may start seeing the new site, while others will still be seeing this one. Don't stress if you still end up here over the weekend, it takes a while for a new site to spread itself around the interwebs! We expect everyone will be seeing Hub site 2.0 by Monday afternoon! We can't wait to see you all there!

Good News for TVD fans and some sad news for Twilight

Hey Hubsters,

It's one of those good news, bad news situations for todays update. Lets start with the good shall we?

Vampire Diaries fans out there will be happy to hear that we are announcing our first guest for next year's "Vampire Diaries 2: A return to Mystic Falls" event! Everyone's least favourite Uncle/Father/Guy We Just Love To Hate Aka John Gilbert Aka David Anders! After his recent trip out for us earlier this year, we can assure you that despite his penchant for playing thoroughly unlikeable characters, he is in fact a delightful and charming man and a wonderful start to what is sure to be a fantastic lineup in this sequel to last years brilliant event.

And now onto the bad news...

Unfortunately the support required for the Twilight Tour to proceed as originally planned has not transpired and we have been forced to make some amendments to the event schedule in response. The Twilight Perth and Brisbane events have been cancelled, and due to a venue conflict the Adelaide event is being moved to the 28th of May.

Sydney and Melbourne are going full steam ahead, with the only change being that the Pyjama Party with the Hillywood Show will no longer be available.

For those who have already purchased tickets to the events that have been cancelled, you will be contacted within 24 hours regarding your options for refunds or ticket transfers. We apologise for any dissapointment for the fans, but we have to stress that without the support of the fans, events in the smaller states just aren't a viable option.

For those of you in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide, we look forward to enjoying our final Twilight tour with you.

Dot Jones heads to Gleek-on

We are very happy to announce that Dot Jones, who plays the wonderful character of Coach Shannon Beiste will be joining Harry Shum Jr for our upcoming Gleek-on event in July! We are sure the fans will be as excited as we are about this brilliant addition to what is sure to be a spectacular line up! You must be getting sick of us with all these announcements of late! No? Enjoying all the eventy goodness? Good to hear, because we are excited to make another one today!
And we are sure that all the True Blood fans out there will be happy too, because today we announce that Sam Trammell, who plays everyone's favourite Shreveport bartender - Sam Merlotte, will be returning to us in September for our True Blood 2: A Second Bite event. Hubwarts 2 Event Announcement plus a summary of upcoming events

Hey Hubsters,

Yet another news post with another great event announcement! After the wonderful success of our Harry Potter event "Hubwarts" last month, which resulted in many emails, phone calls, facebook posts and tweets asking for another, we are have decided to give you what you want! So without further ado, we are very pleased to announce Hubwarts 2!

This Harry Potter themed event will be held on March 24th 2012 in Sydney and March 25th 2012 in Melbourne with guests to be announced as they are confirmed (although we already have a sneaking suspicion Gerald might put in another appearance). Please head over to the event page for more information.

And just for an update for those who may have missed out on any recent event announcements here is a quick breakdown on what exciting events are comming up for this year and next.

May 2011 Twilight hits the road again! Heading to Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with Daniel Cudmore, Michael Welch, Kiowa Gordon, Julia Jones, Booboo Stewart, The Hillywood Show, Dr Cullen himself: Peter Facinelli and more to be announced. This also include our special Twilight Pyjama Party in Sydney and Melbourne.

July 2011 is time for all the Gleeks out there to get their Gleek-on! Hitting Sydney and Melbourne will be none other than Mr Abs aka Mike Chang aka Harry Shum Jr as well as more guests to be announced!

In September 2011 we head to Adelaide and Perth with Stargate 2011 and we'll be taking everyones favourite Scottish Doctor Paul McGillion and another, yet to be announced, guest.

Also is September we are hostsing True Blood 2: A Second Bite for all the Trubies in Sydney and Melbourne. With Nelsan Ellis already announced and more to come we are sure people will enjoy this event as much (if not more!) as our first True Blood event last year.

October 2011 sees us combine two of SciFi's great cult shows, Warehouse 13 and Eureka to bring Sydneysiders and Melbournites: A Warehouse in Eureka! With Coling Ferguson and Tia Carrere already announced this is shaping up to be a wonderful and exciting new event!

For November 2011 we are excited to bring back an old Hub favourite guest but for a whole new genre. Michael Muhney, formally of Veronica Mars and now a star of Young and the Restless is our first announced guest for Soap-sational, an event to celebrate the wonder that is Daytime Soaps.

Of course March 2012 will be Hubwarts 2!

Then, if we leap into May of 2012, we have our third visit to the world of Supernatural when we bring you All Hell Breaks Loose 3! With Richard Speight, Jr., Misha Collins, Traci Dinwiddie and Jim Beaver already announced and more to come this is surely going to be a great event for the supernatural fans out there.

June of 2012 also sees a return to a familair fandom as we host Vampire Diaries 2 : A return to Mystic Falls. Keep a close eye on this one as we announce some amazing guests from a fanstastic show.

The last of our currently announced events sees us looking at August of 2013 when we will be taking brave nerds across the ocean for our Dragon Con Odyssey. Places are still available and this is a trip you truly dont want to miss.

Captains & Klingons beam down while Hubsters get their singing and dancing shoes on for a new event

Hey Hubsters!

While we have Captains and Klingons beaming down in Sydney and Melbourne for our Star Trek 2011: Command & Conquer event this weekend (tickets are available at the door for Melbourne) we thought we'd announce something at the other end of the fandom spectrum. All the Hub staff are super excited about this event and hope you will be too.

We're very pleased to announce our first Glee themed event Gleek-On for the 16th & 17th of July 2011! The first guest we have for this fantastic event is none other than Glee's "Other Asian" singing and dancing sensation Mike Chang aka Harry Shum Jr. Head on over to the Gleek-on event page for all the information. Tia Carrere heads to A Warehouse In Eureka

Hey Hubsters,

With our Australian Harry Potter event, Hubwarts, now wrapped up and our Star Trek 2011: Command and Conquer event with William Shatner, Scott Bakula and other great guests only a few days away, we thought we would help fill in the gap with a guest announcement for our Warehouse13/Eureka crossover event in October "A Warehouse In Eureka" !

We are very happy to announce that Tia Carrere, Agent Kate Logan of Warehouse 13, will be joining Colin Ferguson in our lineup for this world first event. Some of Tia's other credits include Relic Hunter, Lilo and Stitch and of course Wayne's World and we are very excited to have her at this event! Vampire Diaries II - A Return to Mystic Falls Event Announcement

Hot on the trail of yesterdays Warehouse in Eureka event announcement we're very happy to announce we are hosting another Vampire Diaries event in 2012. Vampire Diaries II: A Return to Mystic Falls will be taken to Sydney and Melbourne on June 9th & 10th 2012.

Guests for the event will be announced over the coming weeks and months. Make sure you stay tuned to the website and twitter for guest announcements. In the mean time head on over to the event page for details and ticket prices. Tickets should go on sale within the next couple of days.

A Warehouse in Eureka, Hubwarts and Command and Conquer

Some exciting news today! First up though, just a quick reminder that our Australian Harry Potter event is on this weekend! If you haven't purchased tickets yet, we do still have some left in both cities and these will be available for purchase at the door. We are, however, very short on regular day tickets in Melbourne, though we still have both VIP and platinum tickets available. And if you want to know what time the doors open, just head over to the Schedule page. And for those who can't make it to the event, and for those who can and want to share the experience with everyone, we have our Cover It Live ready and raring to go where you can read tweets from the event, see pictures and get all the behind the scenes goss. To join in the fun you can use Cover It Live or simply use the #Hubwarts hashtag when you tweet!

Another small bit of housekeeping; the schedule for our Star Trek 2011: Command and Conquer event with William Shatner, Scott Bakula and more for the first weekend in April is now up on the site. You can check it out here.

And now for the news you have all been waiting for. We are very happy to announce an exciting new event! After the success of our Sanctuary/Stargate mashup "Gate to the Sanctuary" we have decided to put another two great shows together to bring you a world first event: A Warehouse in Eureka! This great event will feature stars from both Warehouse 13 and Eureka and to kick it off our first announced guest is none other than Sheriff Jack Carter himself - Colin Ferguson! The event will be held in Sydney on the 29th of October and Melbourne on the 30th of October and for more information you can head over to the event page here!

Hubwarts Venue Change and Voting Day Information and an Event Cancellation

Hey Hubsters!

We have a few bits & pieces for you tonight. Firstly the absentee packs are available for both Hubwarts and Star Trek 2010: Command & Conquer events. Click here to download the order form to get autographs if you're unable to make the events. It's not too late to buy tickets to either event (Hubwarts tickets and Star Trek 2010 tickets! You don't want to miss the opportunity to meet the guests and have the only chance for photographs and autographs from the guests while they are in Australia.

Secondly for those Hubsters coming to the Hubwarts event in Sydney next Saturday we're sure you've noticed that the NSW State Election falls on the same day. We've put together some information to make it easier for you to fulfill your civic duty whilst ensuring you get your full day of Hubwarty fun. Just head on over to the Hubwarts event page for all the information you need. Now for the Melbourne Hubwarts attendees due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to change venues for the event. The Melbourne leg of Hubwarts will now take place at the Spring Street Theatre. Check out the Hubwarts Venue page for more information. Unfortunately, due to other commitments and scheduling issues, there won't be any other guests coming to Hubwarts. However, I think everyone can agree that James, Oliver, Natalia and Stan are a great lineup for the event!

Finally, we sadly have to announce that Twilight Malaysia is being canceled. Unfortunately, due to the fact we have been unable to reach the required number of ticket sales by this point, we are no longer able to move forward with this event. We know that the Malaysian fans will be disappointed, but no more than we are; we were really looking forward to taking a fun event overseas. For those who have purchased tickets you will be contacted in regards to a refund.
