Goodbye Colorado...

Well, its time again... We are heading out next week. We are moving out of Colorado and into California! Ya! We are really excited to be in warm weather again, but we are not quite going back "home." We decided to give good old Nor Cal a try. Ha ha... One day we will settle down.

I really do like it here in Colorado and the snow isn't that bad at all. It's really nice. Especially when you get to stay inside. Natalie is really sad that it is not going to snow in our new city, but I'm sure that after hitting the park everyday she will change her mind.

It's really hard moving so much and having to make new friends everywhere I go, but, thanks to Facebook, I can actually try and keep in touch with my old friends. I try to not think about that too much and be excited about all of the new friendships I will make. Wish me luck!

We needed to go somewhere fun! So we headed out to the aquarium! Natalie was so scared at first... but finally she warmed up and enjoyed herself. We had a blast.

A Winter Wonderland

Another holiday has come and gone. I absolutely love Christmas time... and we went to California to celebrate. The girls had a blast running around like crazy with their cousins and the time just flew by. Kaitlyn learned how to say, "That mine!" and "Ho ho ho!" Now we are just back at home enjoying the goodies we received.

Halloween and Home

Hello World. We've been sick with the flu since the middle of last month (September last month).... Well we didn't have the flu the whole time and not everyone was sick at once. But either way... I feel I missed all of October. I literally watched the trees outside my window change colors and the leaves fall off... We are all mostly better here... except for poor Robby, who has pneumonia (it is a slow process for his recovery)... and are looking forward to living out of the house again.

Natalie picked out these pumpkins all by herself. Though she was little disappointed when I didn't make pumpkin pie out of them, she had a blast making them into Jack o' lanterns. We got tired of carving so we had her draw a face on the other one.

Somewhere in the Rockies...

Last weekend we took a fun mini trip to St. George, Utah. We visited Robby's mom and Sister's Family. The drive was kinda long for just the weekend but we missed them so they were worth it. ;) Plus the drive through the Rocky Mountains was absolutely gorgeous. The trees were all starting to turn colors and so they were beautiful shades of gold and orange. Unfortunately I wasn't able to photograph the prettiest spots. I really love fall. Though I usually say that about every season once it first starts... Then it always seems to drag on {...ahem...winter...} and I get really excited for the change.

So... I've fallen in love with the prairie grass on the rolling hills by my house. I've been dying to get the kids in it and take some pictures. Though I'm kinda scared of snakes and things like that so I've only gazed at it. Here is just a little bit mixed with some weeds right outside my front door.

Grandma will be happy to know that Natalie still uses her last year's Christmas Presents. Though now instead of buying those little packs of cupcake mix made for the thing I just make a "mini" cupcake recipe from scratch. Natalie knows this is a rare treat when we bust out the cupcake maker and I just try not to look at the mess she's making.

"What? I'm too cute to get mad at. Plus, I'm cleaning it for you."

I'm sure everyone will be happy to know that our little Kaitlyn is finally walking!!! "Spina Bifida?" she says, "What's that? I'm fine!" Every little stepping stone with Kaitlyn has been so exciting as she continues to prove that she was sent here to be a little miracle. She is such a little sweetheart just like her sister. They are the best of friends.

I bought a 5 pack of CDs tonight and they were only $2.88. LOL it's been awhile since I burned a CD but I wanted to make Natalie a few Disney CDs to dance along with in her room... Anyway... I've been watching the Fringe lately and last night we watched this episode where they were following Olivia in the Alternate Universe and they were all amazed to see a Ball Point Pen. HaHa I'm sure we are still a ways away from that but who knows? Robby said he read that Michael J. Fox is selling off Marty McFly's Nike shoes from Back to the Future II. Though I'm sure they really don't automatically lace up. Now I'm just waiting for those flying cars so we can all just remember back to when we cruised on the ground.

Little Indian Girls

Robby had Labor Day off from work! So we had to go do something exciting. We headed out to Colorado Springs first thing in the morning and we went to the Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings, the Cliff Dwellings of the Ancient Pueblo Peoples (Anasazi).

Nat: "This is where the Indians watch TV. But they just pretend."

Look I was there too! Natalie thought these little things the Native Americans ground corn in would be good seats.

The girls had a blast exploring the "Indian houses." It was really neat.

After we checked out the Native American Site we had a great Mexican lunch and headed off to the America the Beautiful Park.

Lately

So lately I have not taken a lot of pictures... I think about all I've been doing on my free time is reading... I have been reading a lot all summer, though really ever since I moved here cause I got a library card. :) And then before that cause I got a Kindle.... though the library card is really a cheaper way than buying all of the books I read. Lately I've been reading all of the Harry Potter books over again. Right now I'm on the sixth book. Good stuff....

The kiddos are getting bigger... of course right? Kaitlyn is doing great! She isn't quite walking on her own yet but she's getting close and that's a really good sign. Natalie's is just old now. (well if you count 3 as old) She's adorable and always has the funniest stuff to say.

Really there are a million pictures of Kaitlyn in this post because she was not cooperating. So I took a million of her because I was trying to get her to smile. Natalie was nice and posed for me. So I have like one of her.

Family History

I've been really into family history lately. Mostly because I love to learn and it has given me something to learn about. I have also really been into playing with photoshop lately. So I made myself a family tree to put on my wall. I made it into a 8X10 and framed it. I think it turned out pretty cool. I wish it was bigger... but frames are expensive, though making a big poster one could be pretty neat. Here is a blank version of the one I made so you can cheat and have one just like mine without all of the long hours creating on the computer. Enjoy! :)

This is the "Daddy Ride."He's multitasking. His new "live" weights give him much more of a challenge. Especially the little one that tries to roll off.

We went to the Zoo again! I would love a zoo pass but we are lucky enough to have friends that have passes and guest passes. Kaitlyn did surprisingly well for being stuck in the stroller for a couple of hours. This is her "save me, I'm stuck" look.

Natalie had a blast checking out the animals with her friends. She's posing for me here. I rarely get pictures of her looking at me because she thinks its fun to smile off into the distance when she sees a camera.

P.S. I'm going to see Harry Potter tomorrow night, on a date. I'm so excited. Going out. Ya!!!! There is no way I could hack one of those midnight showings again... I get up WAY too early for that. Too bad though cause then I'd be seeing it tonight. I've started reading the books over again because it's been such a long time since I've read them. I just finished the second one...

I'm the Activity Day Leader for my ward at church. Activity Day is a little program for the 8-11 year old girls {kinda like personal progress for Young Women}. We meet twice a month and have activities for fun or that teach principles. Like service or developing your talents. Tonight we are going to decorate cookies and give them away. Computer Savvy

Natalie has taken up a strong interest in my computer lately. I taught her how to move the mouse and I downloaded a few games for her. She can totally sit down and do it all by herself. It's adorable. Well she also knows about photo booth... and I have lots and lots of pictures of her playing with it.
