Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin and director Francis Lawrence finished a busy day at Cannes Film Festival last Saturday by attending Lionsgate's Catching Fire Party sponsored by their official makeup partner, COVERGIRL. Originally, it was planned to be a beach party. But since the weather was not so good at Cannes over the weekend, they've decided to re-plan everything indoors. Check out photos as well as a behind-the-scenes video of the extravagant Catching Fire party below!

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Taking futuristic dystopian fashion and fun to whole new levels, Lionsgate’s THE HUNGER GAMES:CATCHING FIRE Capitol Party at Baoli Beach on Saturday evening sponsored by COVERGIRL was this year’s hottest event at the Cannes Film Festival. Themed around 2013’s most anticipated motion-picture release, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, the party was comprised of an exclusive guest list that included the film’s stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, as well as director Francis Lawrence. COVERGIRL, which celebrated its partnership with the film at the event, provided touchups to party guests. Acclaimed DJ Snake kept everyone in the groove while a platoon of models remained in constant circulation clad in “Capital Chic” attire.
Lionsgate spent five months planning the exclusive affair paying close attention to every detail from importing Capitol portraits for the event, to providing specially coded tickets for each guest which included a pin for them to wear granting them access. The night rivaled the grandest celebrations hosted by President Snow.

Last month, it was reported that a footage (most probably the trailer) and some kind of presentation for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire would be shown at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. No additional information has been reported since then, but we now have a few pictures of the Catching Fire setup outside a hotel at Cannes and a short Vine video of the flaming Catching Fire pin. In addition, according to @Larry411, Lionsgate's purpose for showing the Catching Fire footage at Cannes is to sell Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 to international buyers. Interesting.

A few hours after the launch, a photo of a Catching Fire book with the caption: "With these pages... #TheSpark. May 14th," was uploaded, which fans assumed as an implication that a surprise is coming our way on the 14th of May. Now it looks like our assumptions are true, since over the weekend, 3 more clues about the May 14th surprise have been posted on the The Hunger Games Instragram page with the following captions:

“A spark that, left unattended, may grow…” May 14th.”

INTERVIEW: American Idol contestants meet Liam Hemsworth, talks about being huge Hunger Games fans

Two of the remaining contestants of this season's American Idol, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller, recently had the opportunity to meet our Gale Hawthorne, Liam Hemsworth. In a new interview with AccessHollywood, they talk about the awesome experience as well as being huge fans of The Hunger Games.

“[I felt] a bunch of heart flutters,” contestant Kree Harrison told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following “Idol” on Wednesday, when asked about meeting the handsome Aussie. “I love ‘Hunger Games.’ I wasn’t expecting him to be there, so it was cool.
“I had a blast,” she added.

The run-in was especially exciting for Angie Miller (who bears a striking resemblance to Liam’s longtime love, Miley Cyrus).

“When I saw him I was like, ‘Ahh!’ and I looked at all the other girls and I was like, ‘That’s Liam Hemsworth!’ I was like, freaking out,” Angie told Laura. “He didn’t say that [I look like Miley], but when I posted the photo [of us] online, every comment was like, ‘He probably thought she was Miley!’

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” she continued. “I’m a huge ‘Hunger Games’ fan.”

New York Daily News is giving us a look at some of Jennifer Lawrence's early modeling photos and is sharing with us an interview with Chris Kaufman, the photographer who took the photos, about his first time working with Jennifer way back when she was just 12 years old.

Oscar winner and world-famous actress Jennifer Lawrence was just a cute teenager with a sweet smile when she stepped in front of Chris Kaufman’s camera a decade ago.

But the Louisville, Ky., photographer and talent agent instantly knew he had a future star in his studio.

“I stopped shooting and I turned to my assistant and said, ‘You don’t see people move like that,’ ” said Kaufman … “I was like, ‘Oh, my Lord, this girl is untrained?’ I remember feeling so much came out of her; it’s God-given,” said Kaufman.
