Scholastic Inc. has officially released the title, release date and the official cover for Suzanne Collins' upcoming Hunger Games prequel novel.

Titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the new Hunger Games prequel book is slated to be released in bookstores worldwide on May 19, 2020. The novel's cover features a songbird and a snake resting on a tree branch and has a green, gold and black theme.

Some don't want any more films because they think that it would just be Hollywood's way of milking the franchise and that prequels/sequels or what have you would probably just ruin the legacy of the original tetralogy. Others, however, would love to see more of Panem and the intricate story of the other characters in Suzanne Collins' tale. Director Francis Lawrence has already said in several interviews that he would only be in to direct more Hunger Games films if the story/script is from Suzanne herself.
