It's a long story why I couldn't get Blogger app on my phone until now (I had a bad experience with the manufacturer, HTC) but I finally have it! Just testing it out.

I took this picture Sunday afternoon its my ume (plum) tree. It grows hard green plums used for umeboshi. This year I'm going to make that and plum wine! They are the size of cherries right now I can't wait until they are ready for pickling!

Super unexciting post I know lol.

OK just to keep it slightly polish related, Twenty Ten is ready but no labels! Hope to get that ready today, sorry for the delay.

Twenty Ten is coming back, this time more blingier!

I'm also playing with the idea to make a Sneeze Breeze-esque in a black base like shown here. It makes it much less thirsty (still thirsty but you can gloss it out in 2 topcoats). What do you think? I would still offer SB of course :)

One of my biggest requests is to have minis, so here they are. They are ready to go but I haven't taken photos with my hand swatched with them so they will be going up soon. Sneeze Breeze is up already for those that have been waiting for that one.

They are heart shaped with a pink cap! So kawaii!

They are 5ml, like the previous minis I had.

Upcoming shade #1. Its a dark pink / raspberry jelly with fine and small square red glitter.

Upcoming shade #2 is microfine and medium silver hex glitter with a small square and medium hex lavender glitter. This swatch is not the final version but very close!

New York City Ballet by OPI Review and Swatches

OPI's latest SoftShades colors are inspired by the New York City Ballet.

Care To Danse? 3 coats is a pale sheer lilac creme.

My Pointe Exactly 3 coats is a light sheer grey creme. An interesting color to sheer out.

These first 2 photos I'm wearing a normal basecoat. You can see my ridges quite clearly. The photos below this I buffed my nails to smooth my ridges.

Barre My Soul 3 coats is a very natural looking sheer beige.

Here this looks much better with my ridges buffed down a bit. I don't like to buff my nails too often and if you're like me, you might want to try using a ridgefiller basecoat instead of buffing.

This is the above shade, Barre My Soul with 1 coat of Don't Touch My Tutu! the milky white creme on my tips.

I wanted to see if Don't Touch My Tutu! would be opaque enough to cover my natural smile line. As you can see I have different shaped nails on my left hand so french manicures can look odd on me unless I can create an artificial smile line.

Above is 2 coats, I was trying to make my nails all square to match my pinky and ring finger. I didn't try a 3rd coat because my tips were getting thick with polish.

You Callin' Me A Lyre? 3 coats over the white tips above. This was the only way to cover up my uneven smile line. This is a very pretty and flattering pink I think.

Don't Touch My Tutu! 1 coat.

2 coats.

Finally 3 coats. I think this white is better left for doing tips. I could see this making some cute polka dots as well!

Don't Touch My Tutu! 1 coat over just my natural tips. Why 2 nails grow round and 2 square is beyond me. This is very natural looking and makes a great American manicure.

If you have slightly dingy nails this might help brighten your tips out. It is very sheer so if your nails are extremely stained it might not be enough.

Pirouette My Whistle 1 coat over 3 coats of Don't Touch My Tutu! Very fine silver glitter and medium sized light grey glitter in a clear base. I think the hex glitters are described as silver, but to me they aren't metallic silver. But they're not white either. So something in between. Maybe a satin-y white.

Pirouette My Whistle 3 coats over plain nails. As you can see the glitter is pretty sparse even at 3 coats so I would consider this a layering glitter.

The formula for this collection was wonderful. I knew they were sheer going in so I was expecting a somewhat runny and streaky formula but they were perfect. Somehow despite how sheer they were it was just thick enough to apply smooth like butter. How do you do it OPI?!

All of these colors are very pretty and work-appropriate. My favorite was You Callin' Me A Lyre? (the pink of course). The glitter topcoat looks great over everything. My least favorite was My Pointe Exactly, a sheer grey just didn't work on me.

To reiterate the tip I mentioned earlier, if you have ridges you may want to buff your nails or use a ridgefiller basecoat to smooth these out. All of these colors can be worn 1 coat just to smooth out your nail for a natural look. It's like a no-makeup makeup look but for your nails. Enhance your natural nail beauty! I hope that made sense. :)

American Manicure Video Tutorial

Hi guys! I made a short American manicure video for you today. I used colors from the upcoming New York City Ballet by OPI collection. The colors are soft, sheer and dainty.

Here is what I used:
White - Don't Touch My Tutu!
Pink - You Callin Me A Liar?
Glitter - Pirouette My Whistle
Nubar Diamont topcoat

I'm thinking about bringing back Twenty Ten, but better. I'm trying to find the perfect formula and this is my first attempt. My index finger is 1 coat over black and the others are 2 coats plain.

My haircut is a work in progress. So far we cut it twice and here it is after the 2nd cut. It's kinda choppy and chunky in some places so I need to try to fix that. I also need to flat iron in this pic lol.

So I found matcha kit kats! Finally, although the ones I got are different than the plain matcha but they are still good. Oh sorry I didn't take picture yet but this is another flavor I got, strawberry cake!

Wakame salad, aaah. This kind I got was really good, nice and crunchy. You can make your own seaweed salad dressing at home it's so easy! Soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, mirin and a tiny bit of sugar. Tart and a hint of sweetness goes perfect with seaweed.

I have just about perfected my cookies and cream, I wanted my newest version to be a little more sheer and squishy looking. Here is my latest tester and I think I'm going to make it just tiny bit more opaque then it's done. I can't wait to finish this!

Another upcoming color is a bright rich purple shimmer. It shimmers red and blue and is very opaque. This was so hard to photograph, why do cameras hate purple? This is more dark purple than pictured. I will have to take a better photo next time.

What better way to spice up your ramen bowl thingie than with an egg and seaweed? I burned my tongue eating this ;P

Pink Friday 3 coats is a bubblegum pink creme. I think 2 coats would be opaque but due to my ridges I did 3. With 1 coat of Super Bass Shatter.

Did It To 'Em 3 coats is a dirty yellowish lime green creme. For the Shatter I thought I would do a fun french manicure with it but I did a bad job freehanding it so it's a bit blah.

Metallic 4 Life 3 coats is a sheer black base with small square and larger hex glitters.

Save Me 2 coats alone and 1 coat over Fly. Blue holographic bar glitter with small silver glitter in a clear base. This is my first bar glitter polish and I have to say it was surprisingly easy to apply. I had a few nails that I had to push back some bar glitter back on but other than that it was a piece of cake. No crazy bar glitters sticking up lol.

Fly 2 coats is a blue turquoise-ish creme.

Here is Super Bass Shatter alone. One of the more interesting Shatters as it has a very pretty pink shimmer to it.

The formula on these were great, they applied perfectly. If you do get Save Me just take care of where the bar glitters land. My favorite is Fly, such a gorgeous color.

nubar Jellybeans Collection Swatches and Review

nubar's spring collection this year is called Jellybeans.

Blue Raspberry 3 coats is a light turquoise creme. It is very sheer, you can see some streakiness and VNL up close but in person you really can't see that at all. Very slow to dry.

Grape 3 coats is a medium purple creme.

Strawberry 3 coats is a link pink creme. I like the soft and squishy look of this color.

Toasted Marshmallow 2 coats is a brown caramel creme. The formula was thin but was opaque at 2 coats surprisingly.

Kiwi 3 coats is a light minty green. I have high ridges on a couple of my fingers and sheer polishes like this one do not play well with them. The color is pretty, which is why I wore a full manicure with this. The biggest problem was that it never dried. I topped this off with Seche Vite like usual and 24 hours later it was still soft and dentable. I was able to just scrape it off with a nail it was so soft. Bummer.

Blueberry 3 coats is a medium vibrant blue creme. My nail line was very visible wearing this color, but I kinda liked it that way.

Cherry 2 coats is a bright orange-red creme. Very smooth and opaque at 2 coats.

Lemon 3 coats is a bright yellow creme. For a yellow I thought it applied nicely. It is thin but not too thin, just apply your coats slowly.

I really liked the colors in this collection, they were nice and bright. The formula was very hit and miss. The only one I really liked was Cherry. The others were thin, the worst offender for me being Kiwi seeing as it never even dried. You can work with it if you have some patience with them with nice slow coats.

My favorite colors were Cherry, Strawberry and Grape.

New bottle shots!

I like to pickle my own ginger! I slice mine thin using a slicer thingie, yep thats the offical name lol. It's not a fancy mandolin or anything just a slider with a grater on the other side.

Add vinegar, sugar and salt to your liking (I like mine a little sweet) and refrigerate overnight and you have pickled ginger!

Belle loves this little owl we got her. She started having seizures several months ago and is now given medication every 8 hours to reduce them. Even then she still has at least 1 a month. :( She seems ok otherwise, well I sure hope so. I wish doggies could tell you how they feel.

I posted this to Twitter a while ago but this is the huge mess that I work in. I have since swatched off some of the bottles lol and tidied up a little.

Here is the little owl, that beak it has was ripped off literally seconds after we gave it to our dogs lol.

Found her "hugging" a dropped towel on the floor, it was soooo cute!

Can't remember the last time I posted my mug! I colored my hair dark brown, and this is before my self haircut. It was just long enough to do a high pony tail.

OPI Holland Collection Review and Swatches

Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? 2 coats. Neutral light beige creme. This was very opaque which surprised me. I thought it was too runny but I will talk about the formula at the end of the post.

Thanks A Windmillion 3 coats. Murky and green, yes please.

Red Lights Ahead...Where? 3 coats. Bright and saturated red coral creme. My flash washed out the rich red tone.

Kiss Me On My Tulips 3 coats. Hot pink creme. I wore this as a full manicure for a couple of days, got a few compliments on it :)

A Roll In The Hague 3 coats. Radioactive bright orange creme.

Wooden Shoe Like To Know? 2 coats. Light milky brown with pink and gold shimmer.

I Have A Herring Problem 3 coats. Greenish blue packed with flecky golden and silver shimmer.

I Don't Give A Rotterdam! 3 coats. A cool grey-blue with the same kind of shimmer as I Don't Give a Rotterdam!.

Dutch'ya Just Love OPI? 2 coats. Medium purple with golden/green/pink shimmer.

Vampsterdam 3 coats. Frosty vampy purple. I personally am not a fan of frosts so this one doesn't excite me that much.

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes 2 coats. Dark dusty rose with golden/pink shimmer.

Pedal Faster Suzi! 3 coats. Pink with flecky silver shimmer. I think I see some very fine pink shimmer in there too.

I wasn't a fan of the formula and for almost all of this collection was too thin and runny for me. With the exception of Wooden Shoe Like to Know? and A Roll In The Hague, they were watery and hard to work with. Thanks A Windmillion and Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh were very thin and they pooled at the cuticle and I didn't even touch it with my brush. If you find yours to be thin like I did just slow down on the coats. Wait a few minutes and apply slowly with thin coats, it helps.

The 2 exceptions were just right, what I normally expect when I think OPI formula. They weren't too thick, or too thin. Smooth and creamy. Perfect even.

They dried just fine and played well with my topcoat like usual. I only wore a couple as full manicures because I disliked the application while swatching.

So all that aside, I liked the colors. I thought they were bright and vibrant, very spring-y (except Vampsterdam). It has a nice nude and I liked the different shimmery options. My favorites were A Roll In The Hague and Gouda Gouda Two Shoes.

I love doing these french manicure gradients they are so easy and it looks so nice. This one is called On A Budget. I was thinking about making a video tutorial on how to do these french manicures, any interest?

I totally forgot to post pictures yesterday for random Friday! Well the thing is I was so busy this week I didn't take that many pictures, so next week I should have some. Alex and I cut my hair last night and I now have a layered a line bob! I will show before and afters next week.

Happy Friday! First things first, I updated my shop. What is left of the holiday set is now on sale, and you can now buy single bottles of what I can make at the moment. So check out the shop HERE.

Let's start with gum. Olivia got this for me when I was out of commission during a mall shopping trip in Vegas.

This was my clear Shellac manicure. It didn't last as long as I thought, maybe 3 days? Well I think it could last a while but some of my nails started lifting at the edge and that drives me crazy.

I debated about not posting this one lol. This meal is a favorite of mine, so fast and easy. It's fermented soybeans (natto) with a raw egg over rice lol. DON'T JUDGE ME!

My boss always brings me omiyage from Japan. This year he gave me a bunch of caramels from different regions. I forgot to take pics of all the boxes but they were cute. My favorite was the kind from Hokkaido and there was another box that had red bean flavor, so good!

He also got me pink bow fringe holder!

Chicken sandwich from Costco, its plain as can be so you have to spruce it up. I add avocado, mayo and red leaf lettuce.

This is my first Shellac color, in Asphalt. This is day 2. I forgot to take fresh pics.

Day 7. On day 3, my index finger just peels off! I was pretty mad lol. But I had to see if the others would last. So I went with 9 fingers Shellac'd and 1 naked for 4 more days like a trooper.

Day 7. Tipwear of course but all in all pretty intact.

Day 7 my right hand. Lol I did a terrible job it's all crooked!

So Shellac lasts a while, I abused my nails a lot and they took quite a beating (tons of handwashing too). I could've gone longer but I removed at the end of day 7 because lets face it, you get bored of dark grey nails after a week. I do like it especially those times when you know you can't change your mani for a while. I should've layered one of my glitters over this, derp.

Removal was easy!

The texture of the gel after soaking is weird, it's like a firm jello and comes off easily.

I went to Rite Aid a couple days ago and they had a ton of 75% off items in the store. The top row + the nail stickers were all 75% off. They were like .99 - $1.75 or so each, not bad! I hit the jackpot when I saw 1 lonely bottle of Whimsical sitting there. I did a double-take and snatched that up! I couldn't believe that was there. Revlon is BOGO1/2 this week so I got Popular and been dying to try the lip butters so got a couple of them too.

Yay it's Friday! Here's what I could dig up, I have a lot of pics but they are still on my camera so maybe next week more random junk. Gloves from H&M, it's a rat, eeeew.

Curled my hair and didn't like it so pinned it up randomly.

Finally I was mixing pigments in with a base and decided to try some plastic cups. No dice.
