I haven’t posted in a million years – I opened a shop and gallery to showcase my finds and then I put my head down and haven’t looked up for the last 2.5 years! BUT – I have managed to keep up with my guilty pleasure – Audible.com. The books I have listened to have kept me sane by entertaining my mind at times when I would otherwise have been adding more gray to my scalp from worry. And who hasn’t sat in crap Seattle traffic? But NOTHING I have read (scratch that) listened to in the last two years has been as thoroughly entertaining as the two books I have just listened to by Caroline Kepnes! I want to meet this woman! Actually no I just want her to write another one in the series NOW! AND the narration of Santino Fontana is the best I have heard – HE NAILS IT! SO don’t even strain your eyes – YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THESE!

One of my promises to myself this year was to make sure to document and share the work I do. Thus I have been scheduling photo shoots like a mad woman as well as trying to find the right platform for a new website – something mobile friendly, easily updated by me or mine rather than a team of specialists etc. But for now I thought I would just start posting stuff willy-nilly to my blog.

Here are a couple of shots from Wednesday’s shoot.

Story: Cute family expecting their third daughter. The first two daughters are heading into their tween – teen years and the parents wanted them to be excited about bunking-up in the same room together. Here is a BEFORE shot of the room:

When I was in 2nd grade I had an experience that scarred me to this day. Sitting in a horseshoe shape in the music room of a new school, a thirty something teacher with long straight blonde hair and no sense of children or childhood made me stand up and sing “You Light Up My Life” to the entire class unaccompanied so she could “see what kind of voice” I had. After I failed miserably (I didn’t even know all of the words, and started crying about half way through), she made another girl stand and show me how I was supposed to have done it. This other girl won the talent show later that month singing that song, and then went on to sing in commercials.

Isn’t that kind of mean.

But this is nice!

Such a nice change from the overused – especially here in Seattle – Edison Bulb!

Whenever a gift might be coming my way – All I really want is ART! This weekend we headed down to Portlandia for a little get-away weekend and went to the Augen Gallery to check out the latest show – I got MONKEY SMILE instantly! I was so excited by the work of Hibiki Miyazaki! And then I got DOUBLE MONKEY SMILE when Jesse got me this as an early birthday present!!!

It goes really great with the Faye Jones piece he got me when I had Grace and it seems there is a real Mother-Daughter theme starting to take shape in my collection as well as in my own work … More on that later!!

Sometimes my train is hard to stop. I love efficiency and making things happen – the project has been clicking along and … Uh oh we made a big design mistake – not like a broken rule – just not enough consideration when placing the window order and now we will be fixing that! Anybody need a window?
