Chris Bosh and baby mama Allison Mathis went to custody court this week as part of their ongoing battle and the judge hearing their case decided it was time for both of them to start acting like adults.

The judge in the hearing reprimanded the former couple for refusing to work out their problems like adults. The judge made his statement after Bosh claimed that Mathis was throwing a fit every single time he requested permission to visit with his 3-year-old daughter

According to the judge the couple should be able to hold level headed discussions about sharing custody, noting:

“Life passes you by waiting for lawyers and cases to resolve. Meanwhile, the world continues.”

After making his comment to the couple the judge did set a visitation schedule for Chris Bosh so he could see his daughter without first having to get permission from his fit-throwing wife.

The judge also warned both Mathis and Bosh that violating the agreement could find them held in contempt of court.

Bosh’s attorney’s have worked hard to receive regular visitation for Bosh while Mathis’ attorney’s have argued that his playing schedule has made a consistent schedule hard to create while not fully interfering with their clients own schedule.

Asghar Farhadi, from Iran, had a good night at the 84th Academy Awards. He took home the award for best foreign language film for his flick, “A Separation”. Now, the Academy Awards aren’t legally shown in Iran, and since its rulers either ignore Hollywood’s existence at best or hold it as a wretched hive of scum and villainy at worst, their acknowledgment of the awards ceremony is (and this is understating) very rare.

Well, they broke the silence. Mostly to brag about Farhadi’s film’s win for Best Foreign Film. Interestingly enough, A Separation was competing with an Israeli film called Footnote, which makes the win all the sweeter in the eyes of Iranian authorities. Iran’s state-run TV praised A Separation for “leaving behind” a film from the “Zionist regime.”

The head of Iran’s Cinematic Agency lauded the Oscar win, calling it the “beginning of the collapse” of the Israeli influence that “beats the drum of war” in the US. In case you’re not picking this up, Iran is really really really excited about the film, particularly its political implications. Not of the film itself, but the “significance” of the win. In case you think Iran might be getting ahead of themselves on this one, you might be right, because there’s still a bit more irony to be had…

Turns out, Israeli audiences are chomping at the bit to see A Separation, with a strong 30,000 going to see it since the film opened in Israel mid-month. Why? Well apparently, Israeli audiences want to glimpse a human side of a country they have long reviled as bitter enemies. “It’s very well acted, exceptionally well written and very moving,” said one Israeli film critic.

Classic case of the administration wants war and the people want healing. And kind of encouraging, I dare say.

Blade Runner Actress Sean Young was arrested after she got into a brawl with security services at the official post Academy Awards party.  Young was placed under arrest at the Governor’s Ball at 9:25 p.m. Sunday after the dispute. The Governor’s Ball is where the official after party of the Academy Awards is held.

Police commander Andrew Smith said.

“She was trying to get into the party and couldn’t get in,”

Young, who has starred in “Blade Runner” and “Stripes,” in the 80′s was charged with misdemeanor battery.  She posted a $20,000 bail and was released from custody.

The actress was taken into custody quickly, said Tom Januszewski, an Associated Press business executive who witnessed the incident. He said he saw a guard subdue Young by placing his forearm on her neck and head while other guards placed her in handcuffs and led her away.

Januszewski said in an interview after the event,

“It happened incredibly fast. I thought it was incredibly well-handled.”

Young was dressed to impress in a full white ball gown and a fur neck warmer.

This is not the first time Young has had issues trying to get into awards show parties. The actress tried to crash the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2006. She was tossed out of the Directors Guild of America awards in 2008 at which time she went into treatment for alcohol abuse.

Whether you loved them or hated them, the “Berenstain Bears” series of books was a big staple of childhood from the 60′s onward in America.

More than 300 books in the Berenstain Bears series have been published, churned out by Stan Berenstain and co-creator Jan Berenstain about a family of domestic bears living in a house made from a tree and moralizing all the livelong day. While the books proved immensely popular with kids, parents didn’t always care for the syrupy-sweet storylines- Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer back in 1989 ragged on “the post-feminist Papa Bear, the Alan Alda of grizzlies, a wimp so passive and fumbling he makes Dagwood Bumstead look like Batman” in a scathing column about the eternally popular Berenstain Bears.

Despite some ire from parents bored by the formulaic books, the series enjoyed a long run. Co-creator Stan Berenstain passed away back in 2005 at the age of 82, and late last week, Jan suffered a massive stroke. The year before her death, Berenstain commented to the Associated Press on the books enduring popularity across many cultures. She said:

“They say jokes don’t travel well, but family humor does… Family values is what we’re all about.”

Of her five decades in publishing, Jan Berenstain said:

“It’s wonderful to do something you love for so many years… Not everyone has that.”

Berenstain’s son Mike Berenstain commented on his mother’s day-to-day life after her passing, saying she remained active working on the series up until she died:

“Every day she was very productive… She was working on two books and had been doing illustrations until the day before she passed away.”

Mike Berenstain confirmed he will continue to work on the Berenstain brand following his mother’s death.

The 43-year-old actress – who has been dating Justin Theroux since they met on the set of ‘Wanderlust’ two years ago – has reportedly told close friends that the actor is ”the one” and has even joked that she has given him an ultimatum to propose by the end of 2012.

According to the Daily Mirror, Aniston quipped:

“If [Justin] hasn’t got down on one knee, or we’re not married, by the end of the year, it’s over!”

Meanwhile, Aniston explained the couple’s new dog Sophie, a boxer-pitbull cross, is a trial run for having actual children.

The Daily Mirror newspaper quotes Jennifer as telling a pal:

“[Justin and I] are constantly laughing. Now we’ve got our new baby things are getting serious. We have new responsibilities.

“[Sophie's] like a test run for kids, I guess… although hopefully kids are easier to house-train. We argue over who takes the dog out and who disciplines her, but that’s about it.”

Jennifer – who cemented her place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week – has also told pals that things with Theroux are “fabulous” and that she has ”never been so happy”.

A friend added: ”Jennifer has never been so happy romantically. She and Justin have discussed their long-term future and both agreed that they love the idea of settling down. The onus is now on Justin to pop the question.”

According to USA Today, the 52-year-old star who hasn’t been in a major film since 2008 is said to have “got into it” with a security guard before being placed under citizens’ arrest by another member of the security team.

Young was then apparently held by the personal until police arrived to take her into custody.

Young was reportedly arrested at 9:25 p.m. Sunday and later booked at the Hollywood police station. An investigation of misdemeanor battery is pending.

City News Service reports that Young posted $20,000 bail and was released Monday morning.

Daily Mail points out that the Governor’s Ball incident wasn’t Young’s first issue at an Oscars after party. She tried to get into a Vanity Fair party by sneaking in behind Jennifer Aniston in 2006.

But she was escorted out by four guards when spotted by security.

“It was degrading,” Sean Young previously said of the 2006 ordeal. “But when you have nothing to lose, it’s really not that big of a deal.”

At the 27th Annual Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica on Saturday, Seth Rogen might have well sold tickets because he was the most hilarious part of the whole evening.   The “50/50″ star brought down the house during his awards-show hosting debut.  He had profanity laced diatribes ranging from Brett Ratner, Mel Gibson and the Grammys.

About Ratner Rogen joked,

“The best thing to come of awards season is we learned what a horrible bigot Brett Ratner is,”

He then went on to ponder openly whether he would have been a better fit for being a producer of the Grammy Awards.

Rogen then took aim at musician Chris Brown, who is universally despised for the way he treated Rihanna.  He said to the crowd,

“At the Grammys, you can literally beat the shit out of a nominee and be asked to perform twice,”

In case anyone had forgotten, the Grammy Awards came under heavy fire two weeks ago for letting Brown perform twice even though just three years ago he was arrested for beating up his then girlfriend.

Discussing the year’s Spirit Award nominees, Rogen was just as quick-witted. He joked that “Drive” was a silent film, before commenting on the villains in Nicolas Winding Refn’s moody noir, played by Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman.

“‘Drive’ made Jews so scary I thought Mel Gibson directed it,” he said.

Rogen saved his best one liner for the film “The Artist” which had won for Independent Spirit Awards including Best Picture.

He joked,

“I thought we created the whole foreign film category to stop this shit from happening.”

Halle Berry will be absent from the 84th Academy Awards Show.  She informed the show’s producers earlier today that she will be unable to attend after breaking her foot in Spain where she is currently filming.

Berry is a bit of an enigma at the Academy Awards.  Most Black actors and actresses have had a difficult time winning Oscars.  Halle Berry and Denzel Washington broke that mold when both were nominated for awards in the 2002 Academy Awards and both had won.

Berry had said during her acceptance speech,

“This moment is so much bigger than me. This moment is for Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Diahann Carroll…. This is for every faceless woman who now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened.”

There are unique parallels to this years academy awards when black women are nominated both for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

Listeners to the Ron and Fez show on SiriusXM Radio got a bit of a shocker.  Fez Whatley who spent the better part of 20 years playing a gay character on his show came out of the closet.  He had always told people, including his family, that being gay was just an act.

In an interview with The Interrobang.com Whatley discussed his coming out process.  He discussed the anguish he felt when he realized that he wasn’t waiting for the perfect girl to come along and sweep him off his feet.  He was actually gay.

He told Interrobang.com,

Coming to this realization was devastating. After all those years of denying it, it was true. Fez Whatley was no longer a character that I played on the air. He was me. And now it wasn’t funny anymore. I was now everything that I had joked about. I got depressed…I couldn’t make myself be Fez Whatley anymore. I was terrified about being really gay.

Whatley went on in the interview to discuss how he came out to his family and his co-host Ron Bennington.  He also went on a rant on his show about how difficult it was to be gay and int he closet when there were so many challenges facing the gay community.

He old his audience,

“There are too many important issues out there facing gay Americans for me to just be yelling out the occasional protest from the closet. I see comedians like Wanda Sykes, Margaret Cho, Mo Roccca, and most recently Todd Glass, and they haven’t lost their sense of humor. They’re entertaining and still make a difference in the community…I can’t be part of “It Gets Better” until I make sure things are going to get better for me. And that’s what I intend on doing. So that the next time I’m asked by someone “Are you really gay?” I can finally answer, “24 hours a day.”

Fez Whatley was already getting calls on his show of support and people that told him they were inspired to come out because of him.

In Gone, which hit theaters on Friday, Feb. 24, Seyfried stars as Jill Conway, a woman suffering from extreme anxiety after allegedly being abducted and thrown down a hole somewhere in one of Oregon’s forests.

“I based this character on my sister because she tends to be a little more sensitive,” Seyfried explained to Hollywood Reporter. “Where as I’m anxious, she is more on the depressive side of things. I feel like to get that balance you actually had to be strong.”

Seyfried’s Jill is still clearly haunted by what she claims happened to her, and when her sister is taken, she is determined to find the kidnapper and save her sister.

However, it’s unclear if Jill was really kidnapped, or if the whole thing is in her head. The Portland police, who never found any evidence that Jill was kidnapped, don’t believe her story. When Jill runs to the police for help when her sister goes missing, her cries fall on deaf ears.

“She’s a little off at times and that’s where the audience is meant to kind of be misdirected a little bit and question her credibility,” Seyfried, 26, said. “It really works, this kind of character, it’s so not me, so that was fun, but I had the liberty to kind of create some extra things around her.”

Twitter has been blowing up all night with stories of how Jennifer Lopez had a wardrobe malfunction at the 84th Academy Awards.  The singer and actress who wore a very tight dress with a plunging neckline is rumored to have let a bit more of her “assets” come out during her presentation with Cameron Diaz.

Labeled the J-Lo Nip Slip of 2012 there were reports all night long that for a brief second a part of J-lo’s aureola may have been showing while she was presenting an award.  Thousands of Twitter Tweets have been lighting up the online world.

Lopez herself said there was no wardrobe malfunction and the bra she was wearing made it impossible for her to even have the “Nip SLip” in the first place.

Now joining Angelina Jolie’s leg for “Most Talked About Body Part” of the evening, Jennifer Lopez’s nipple and Jolie’s leg both have their own twitter accounts.

@jlosnipple tweeted that she had “Finally seen the light” and that she had to come out because she couldn’t breathe.

It could have been a lot worse though.  Most people recall the 2004 Super Bowl where Janet Jackson had a famous “Wardrobe Malfunction and flashed her complete breast to one of the largest television audiences in the world.

This isn’t the first time J-lo’s nipple has seen the light of day.  While doing a show in Germany her entire breast popped out giving the audience a lot more than they paid for. She also took a tumble at an award show once.

Octavia Spencer went through this year’s award season as the front runner to win the Best Supporting Actress award at the 84th Academy Awards and she didn’t disappoint. Spencer took home the statue for her role in “The Help”.  She is just the fifth black actress to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.  Previous winners were; Hattie McDaniel (1940), Whoopi Goldberg (1991), Jennifer Hudson (2006) and Mo’nique (2009).

When her name was announced Spencer got a standing ovation from the whole audience.  When she grabbed the statue she said,

“Thank you Academy for giving me the hottest guy in the room. I share this with everybody.”

She then proceeded to break down in tears and cry all the way off stage.

In “The Help,” Spencer played Minny Jackson, a brash and outspoken maid in Jackson, Mississippi, who, when pushed by her friend Abileen (fellow Oscar nominee Viola Davis), helps a young white journalist (Emma Stone) write a feature on the living conditions of Black domestic help in the rural south. In Spencer’s most memorable scene, she does a “terrible awful” to the racist Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard) by giving her a contaminated pie.

Spencer, who also won a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award, defeated fellow “Help” star Jessica Chastain, as well as Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”), Berenice Bejo (“The Artist”) and Janet McTeer (“Albert Nobbs”). This is her first award.

This was a tight one but in the end, at the 84th Academy Awards, Meryl Streep beat out Viola Davis to win her third Oscar.  Streep had been nominated for 17 Oscars and is considered the most celebrated actress in Hollywood.

Streep was not so graceful about accepting the award saying,

“When they called my name, I had this feeling I could hear half of America going, ‘Ohhh, no, not her again’”

She then went on to thank her husband for all his love and support.

Streep was nominated for the Oscar for her role in the hit movie “The Iron Lady”.  In “The Iron Lady” Streep played British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as she finished up her career in politics and went back into private life.

The last time Streep took home a statue was in 1983 for her role in “Sophie’s Choice.”.  this one was as close as they come also.  It was down to Streep and Davis and it was as much of a surprise to Meryl Streep as it was the rest of the world.  The two, Streep and Davis, are close friends after appearing together in “Doubt”.

The two have been battling all year for awards.  Streep won the Golden Globe and BAFTA award, but Davis grabbed Best Actress at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.  A lot of commentators though that the SAG award would  give Davis the fast track to the Oscar.

In addition to Davis, the other actresses up for the Statue were Michelle Williams (“My Week With Marilyn”), Rooney Mara (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) and Glenn Close (“Albert Nobbs”).

Angelina Jolie showed up to the Oscars last night in a stunning black dress with a slit in the side that went all the way up to her hip.  Critics were saying it was a ploy for attention and that she even chose to stand in a provocative pose so that she could show off her legs.

Jolie wore a black dress by Atelier Versace to the awards. She showed up on the red carpet with her celebrity hubby Brad Pitt (she left all the children at home).  On the red carpet Brad was wearing a traditional black tuxedo with his long hair and unshaven face.

Brad Pitt was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Moneyball.  Jolie, while not nominated for any awards personally still presented an award.  She was rated Best Dressed Presenter by the New Yorker Magazine.

Jolie has had a lot of press this year.  There have been rumors that she may have had an affair with Johnny Depp while the two worked on a movie together.

When all is said and done the only thing that mattered last night was that Angelina Jolie was the talk of Hollywood.

Blue Ivy, with her baby photos all over the web and her name already trademarked, is well versed in this celebrity lifestyle … even if she’s yet to turn eight weeks old.

So what’s next? Easy! A New York lunch date with Jay-Z and Beyonce – also known as Mom and Pops.

The family were papped in New York City on Saturday, stopping by at Sant Ambroeus restaurant in the West Village (sample menu items include a $13 minestrone soup and a $23 ravioli with butternut squash dish – some modest dining!). Blue Ivy was well wrapped up, and held tight against mom Beyonce’s front.

The superstar couple seem determined to maintain some privacy for their newborn daughter. While the couple shared some early photos of Blue Ivy Carter on Jay-Z’s web site, the paparazzi have been kept well at bay since.

In the photos already posted, the rapper and his soul singer wife are pictured separately, taking turns holding their new bundle of joy. Unbeknownst to Blue Ivy, she had already become the subject of Jay-Z’s most recent hit song, ‘Glory‘.

So it’s been quite an entrance to the world for young Blue Ivy, and that’s not even mentioning the $1.5 million that the proud parents reportedly splashed on their daughter. Diamond-encrusted high chair and a lucite crib, anyone? Those are some fiiine hand-me-downs.

Apparently, she also turned heads on the red purple carpet. Us Weekly reports:

Michelle Williams is usually known for her modest red carpet style, but the My Week With Marilyn star sexed things up at the 27th Annual Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, Calif. Saturday. Wearing a suit from Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2012 collection, the blonde actress, 31, showed off her pin-thin legs in short shorts. She accessorized with an Olympia Le-Tan “Catcher in the Rye” embroidered clutch.

There were some pretty big-name winners at the Spirits this year, including Jean Dujardin as best male lead in The Artist.  The Artist also scooped best film – with its $15 million budget, the French silent movie came in just beneath the $20 million maximum budget allowed for all Spirits nominees.

Previous winners of the best film gong have included Lost in Translation, Juno, Black Swan, Brokeback Mountain and, going even further back, Pulp Fiction, a film that was robbed of an Oscar by the treacly Forrest Gump.

The Independent Spirit Awards were founded in 1984, and are dedicated to recognizing independent filmmakers. Winners are typically presented with statuettes that include suspended shoestrings, a nod to the tiny budgets of independent films.

As the battle between nominees at the Oscars came to an end last night a whole new war was waged, one between Madonna and Elton John to see who can have the best Oscars after-party.

Madonna and Elton John have recently been slinging words at one another of varying degrees of nastiness, but things heated up quite a bit when the two superstars announced their Oscars after parties which, as it happens, were both held at the exact same time and pretty much right next to each other.

At John’s party, which benefited the Elton John Aids Foundation, tickets were said to cost around $3,500. Elton managed to snag quite a few high profile celebrities, with Katy Perry, Chace Crawford, Dita Von Teese, Heidi Klum, and Jessica Alba all reported to be on John’s guest list.

John’s celebrity lineup certainly looks impressive, but Madonna appears to have gotten the upper hand as far as the celebrity guest list for her Oscars after party is concerned. Madonna’s guest list included names like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Britney Spears, Natalie Portman, Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise.

This whole mess between Madonna and Elton John has been going on for quite some time now, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be coming to an end anytime soon. It all started back in 2004 when Madonna won Best Live Act at the Q Awards, and John accused her of lip-syncing.

The superstar feud was reignited once again recently when John said that Madonna wouldn’t sing at the Super Bowl–and, as you may recall, she did.

George Clooney may command $15 million a movie nowadays, but he hasn’t forgotten his early days … as Tony Bennett’s driver.

News that Clooney used to play chauffeur for Bennett emerged from a chance meeting on the Oscars red carpet. The 50-year-old actor, arm-in-arm with girlfriend Stacy Keibler, bumped into the legendary crooner outside the Hollywood and Highlands Centre on Sunday.

“Tony, this is Stacy,” said George to Tony, as he introduced his girlfriend. “I was his driver when I was 19,” Clooney told Keibler.

Like any good red carpet gossip hound, Billy Bush from Access Hollywood overheard this, and enquired further. According to Clooney, “I did [serve as his driver] – for about three weeks.”

When Bush asked about Clooney’s chauffeuring skills, Clooney interjected: “He doesn’t remember. I was Rosemary’s [Clooney] nephew.” This seemed to flick a light on in Bennett’s head: “[George] was very good. He had to tell me about it many years later. He actually drove me somewhere and I didn’t know who he was.”

As Clooney prepared to leave the scene, he told Bennett, “I’ll still drive you anywhere you wanna go.”

Clooney wasn’t drowning in awards himself last night, though The Descendants, a film in which the actor stars, did win an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Yet Clooney wasn’t moaning – he told Access Hollywood that he’d already brought his own gold statuette – a reference to Kiebler, who was rocking a strapless and slinky gold Marchesa gown. Being compared to a statue’s a compliment … right?

Actor-producer Tyler Perry has donated just under $100,000 to an Illinois pastor who has been camped out atop a roof for a little over three months.

The pastor who received Tyler’s generous donation, Corey Brooks, had set up a camp in a chilly tent on top of the roof of a vacant motel located in Chicago’s Southside since November of last year.

Part of the reason for the pastor’s unusual vigil was to hopefully raise money–about $450,000–to purchase the derelict motel, which would then be torn down and replaced by a community center. The larger goal for the vigil, however, was to stand up against growing violence in the area.

“We’re living in the killing field. We’re living in a place where you can just be walking to the store, going to get something for your kids and you can be shot and killed,” Brooks said.

Perry heard about Brooks’ mission to tear down the vacant motel, a hotspot for violence and drug abuse, and decided to donate $98,000 to help out the cause. This put the pastor over his goal, so Brooks came down from the roof on Sunday, putting an end to his 94-day vigil.

“We’re here tonight because of young men who have lost their lives,” Brooks told the crowd. “We’re here tonight because on any given night on the South Side of Chicago or the West Side of Chicago some young black man could be killed and his life could be gone prematurely.”

Actress Julianne Moore is set to play Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film Game Change. Now it might tickle viewers everywhere to see a respected actress portray a highly controversial (and in many circles, highly despised) political figure, leaving many to wonder how Moore will lampoon the former Alaskan governor.

Here’s the twist.

From a recent interview, it seems like Moore came off the set not emboldened with disdain for Sarah Palin, but rather sympathy and understanding.

“I do think the situation that she was put in was a completely untenable one,” says Moore of Sarah Palin. Palin “was suddenly almost in lockdown, where [she] wasn’t allowed to speak to anybody unless it went through the proper channels. They were telling her what to do and how to dress. And how to behave.”

Moore also defended Palin’s intelligence, which is generally ripe for the picking in satirical circles. “I think she’s very canny,” Moore said. She “would not have reached the place that she reached without ability. You don’t get to be a vice-presidential candidate by accident.”

In order to get into character, and most importantly, to master Palin’s Alaskan lilt, Moore says that she listened to the audiotape of Palin’s book, Going Rogue. “It’s not just her accent. It’s almost her syntax. … There’s a musicality to her speech that’s very idiosyncratic.”

Fun fact for Joss Whedon fans: The film was penned by Whedon alum Danny Strong, known for playing Jonathan Levinson of the odious “Trio” in the cult-hit television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
