Funny guy Kevin Hart decided to toss a shoe and rip his shorts off at the All-Star celebrity game and was ejected from the game right before it ended. The crowd found overwhelming pleasure in his silly antics as they laughed their hearts out at the 5’2″ Kevin Hart standing next to men of the stature of Dwight Howard.

Kevin Hart won MVP of the NBA All-Star celebrity game without a close second. Prior to hoisting his freshly awarded MVP trophy into the air in a grand gesture of victory, Hart told ESPN:

“Sometimes being MVP isn’t about points, it’s about what you do for your team.”

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan suggested that Kevin Hart, the silly little guy who stole the show and entertained his fans as well as TV watchers, should receive an invitation to shoot hoops with the United States President Barack Obama.

The funny man was trending hot as fire on social media networks during the entire event. Kevin Hart was clearly the MVP of the 2012 All-Star celebrity game. Winner by landslide, Kevin Hart was yelling at his fans in the stands and creating an atmosphere filled with grins, laughs, and hysterical antics.

Unlike Canadian singing sensation Justin Bieber who won the MVP award last year, comedian Kevin Hart won his through sheer domination of the crowd by means of funny antics. The score, which is seemingly less important than Kevin Hart ripping off his pants, was 86 to 54 in favor of Hart’s team, the East.

In the last few weeks Jeremy Lin has gone from an unknown player to the talk of the NBA. He has a Nike shoe coming out, his rookie card just sold for more than $20,000, and celebrities like Kim Kardashian are trying to get close to the New York Knicks’ star. Now, the Linsanity has officially spilled over the ice cream world.

Ben & Jerry’s has just released a new ice cream in honor of Jeremy Lin. Taste the Lin-Sanity ice cream went on sale this week in limited quantities at Harvard. (Lin is a graduate of Harvard.)

Jeremy Lin’s Ben & Jerry’s flavor is vanilla frozen yogurt with swirls of lychee honey. The ice cream also comes with a waffle cookie which can be used to scoop the ice cream.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the waffle cookie replaced Ben & Jerry’s initial ingredient, a fortune cookie. After people complained that the fortune cookie was racist they replaced them with waffle cookies.

Ryan Midden, Ben & Jerry’s general manager for Boston and Cambridge said:

“There seemed to be a bit of an initial backlash about it, but we obviously weren’t looking to offend anybody and the majority of the feedback about it has been positive.”

The Taste the Lin-Sanity ice cream flavor is only available at the Harvard store and only available for a limited time. Ben & Jerry’s has no plan at the moment to release the ice cream nationwide.

Maine’s biggest lobster, a 27-pounder by the name of Rocky whose gigantic claws are powerful enough to snap off your arm, was released back into the Atlantic Ocean from which it came. Marine officials said that the 27 pound lobster was released Thursday.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with the coverage of this incredible 27-pound lobster caught off the coast of Maine, the giant lobster was caught in a shrimp net off the coast of Maine near the seaside village of Cushing and later transported to the Maine State Aquarium which is located in West Boothbay. As the state restricts fishermen from holding onto lobsters measuring longer than 5 inches from the start of the tail to the eyes, Maine’s biggest 27 pound lobster was freed back into the Atlantic Ocean from which it originally came.

This particular 27 pound crustacean measured 40 inches and was roughly the size of a small child. According to the education director of Maine’s Department of Marine Resources, Elaine Jones, the lobster’s mass was attributed almost entirely to its massive claws as she told MSNBC:

“All the weight is in the claws, it would break your arm.”

How old is Maine’s biggest lobster? Unfortunately, scientists are unable to accurately estimate the age of these behemoth lobsters.

While the 27 pound Maine lobster is the largest lobster the marine lab has ever recorded being caught in Maine, the world record keeper (according to the Guinness Book of World Records) is a 44 pound lobster caught in 1977 off of the coast of Nova Scotia.

A man in New York has “grown” over six inches through painful limb-lengthening surgeries intended to artificially increase his height.  The man, who goes by the pseudonym Apotheosis, clearly conveyed his reasoning for undergoing the extreme procedure as he stated:

“I realized that the world looked at me a certain way that I didn’t look at myself in that certain way.  I wanted the way I felt about myself and the way the world felt about me to be similar.”

While the reason behind Apotheosis undergoing the surgery might be cosmetic, there are in fact numerous patients suffering from dwarfism or deformities who have and are currently going through the process of surgically lengthening their limbs.

Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Dror Paley claims that the majority of the patients that visit her at St. Mary’s Medical Center for cosmetic reasons are suffering from height dysphoria which she claims is one of the few psychologic-psychiatric disorders that actually can be cured with the knife.

Akash Shukla is just one of those patients who has undergone the surgery for the cosmetic reason depicted by Paley.  At age eighteen, the young man from New Jersey discovered that he would ultimately only grow to be a mere 4’11.5″ tall and for which reason he said:

“I felt like my short stature was kind of causing a void inside me- an emptiness in my heart, if you will.”

Due to his short height at that time, Shukla opted to undergo the painful process of lengthening his limbs in order to increase his height.  Nearly 5’2″ after surgery, Shukla is now significantly taller than before.

This rare procedure is performed by only a few doctors in the United States and costs roughly $85,000.  Painful, time consuming, and expensive are just a few words to describe this incredible surgery which has assisted those like Shukla, Apotheosis, and many more achieve a height beyond that which they were otherwise predisposed to.

The radical and costly procedure requires surgeons to break the leg bone in order to implant a telescopic rod into the middle of the bones which is used to slowly pull the bone apart at a rate of roughly one millimeter per day.  Arteries, tissue, and skin regenerate as new bone grows around the rod and repairs the break.  With this surgery exist potential complications, however, regardless of the risk involved, there are those like Shukla and Apotheosis who willingly opt to have the surgery performed.

After all who in their right mind would take a Glock Model .10mm and then proceed to shoot himself in the belly with a 200 grain hollow point round just to prove that the bulletproof vest he was wearing would work.

I think someone should call up the folks at the Darwin Awards and suggest that they keep an eye this guy because I have a feeling he could be a prime candidate for their award in the not to distant future.

A fisherman off the coast of Maine pulled in a monstrous 27-pound lobster earlier this week.

The fisherman, Robert Malone, brought it into the Department of Marine Resources to show off his enormous catch, but said that he’ll return the giant lobster to the ocean, instead of his dinner plate, this weekend.

The Associated Press reports that Malone, a shrimp fisherman, named the 27-pound lobster Rocky because it was found in the Rockland area. Boston.com reports that Malone dropped the giant, 27 pound, 40 inch, lobster off at the Department of Marine Resources who transferred the lobster to the Maine State Aquarium.

Director Aimee Hayden-Rodriques said that she had never seen a lobster that big and that Rocky trumped the aquarium’s previous giant lobster which weighed a measly 23 pounds.

But Rocky is still a long weigh from the top of the lobster food chain. The biggest lobster on record was caught of the coast of Nova Scotia. That lobster weighed more than 40 pounds.

Still, Rocky has plenty of size on your average dinner lobster, which are typically 1 to 2 pounds.

I know I shouldn’t admit it but one of my guilty yet not so pleasurable ways to say up to date with the current news cycle is to watch CNN and at one time I will weepingly confess to liking Lou Dobbs and like Arthur Brown before him was pissed when CNN sent him packing.

In the time since then I have come to my senses and realized that good ol’ Lou was a bit of a nutter with an agenda of his own so it was no surprise that he surfaced over at the Fox Network.

Now as nutty as he have been in the past I swear someone has taken him off his meds and then let him get in front of the camera because his latest diatribe of puke inducing nonsense is just insane.

He apparently thinks that our children are being with the sinful and disgusting Obama philosophy by two movies that have recently hit the theaters.

Yes folks our kid’s values and morals are being perverted by none other than Dr. Suess’ The Lorax and another animated movie called Arrietty.

I’ve embedded the video here for you to see for yourself but I must warn you that this is some of the stupidest and mind-numbing rhetoric to come out of any news station, and that is saying a lot for Fox.

Don’t blame me if you suddenly have the urge to either hit something or puke.

Kellogg’s, you totally had us with “Totes Amazeballs” cereal until you said raisins. Dude, f*ck raisins.

I guess we have to back up a bit and explain the whole genesis of the cereal Totes Amazeballs, which is one of those expressions you utterly loathe until you find yourself saying it, kind of like, “you jelly?” The cereal went from something that didn’t exist to concept to actual product within about an hour, thanks to Twitter and lead singer of the UK band Charlatans, Tim Burgess. Burgess made a quip on Twitter about an imaginary cereal, unwittingly becoming a lesson in effective use of social media for business.

The musician explains:

“I heard someone use the expression ‘totes amazeballs,’ and it sounded like something from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory… I sent a cheeky tweet saying I’d invented a new cereal and that Kellogg’s were interested. But within an hour they’d got in touch.”

Alas, only one box of the cereal- a very limited edition- was produced for Burgess, to his Twitter specs. (Rocky Road cake, Coco Pops Coco Rocks, marshmallows, shortbread pieces and raisins, if you were curious.) But the initiative garnered the brand some significant positive press even if it didn’t result in a marketable product just yet, and a rep for Kellogg’s commented:

“It all came about a few weeks ago when Tim tweeted his fans about wanting to create a super cereal called Totes Amazeballs. We really try to make the most of Twitter here at Kellogg’s, and when we saw the tweet, we knew we had to make something special for [Burgess].”
