All day, every day, no matter what subject we were on, we somehow got back to the topic of marketing.  That’s what happens when your friends are also your peers in your business.

When talking about marketing, there’s one topic more than any other that kept coming up over and over again …

… TRAFFIC !

No matter what cool marketing strategy we happened to be focusing on, without TRAFFIC, there would be no sales.

We’ve talked about every type of traffic strategy this week from Joint Ventures to AdWords to article marketing to social media and web 2.0.

I taught a thing or two about the way that I drive traffic and I’ve learned a thing or FOUR about the way that other marketers drives traffic.

Best of all, we share resources that we think are essential to driving traffic to your website.

Through all of these discussions, though, one thing became very clear…

More than any other, there is one method of driving traffic that works equally well for newbies and advanced marketers.

*  This one method of driving traffic costs you nothing.

*  It can be used over and over again.

*  It doesn’t require you to have a long list of JV Partners waiting to promote your products.

*  If you use this method of driving traffic, it will bring visitors to your site not just once, but for a long time to come!

… Article Marketing

I’ve known marketers (like Willie Crawford) who have made over $10,000 on a single article!

Not bad for an hour or so of work, right?

The trick with articles, though, is to write the RIGHT kind of article and to write a powerful resource box.

I’m not talking about a hype filled article that talks about your product and tells the reader why it’s the next best thing to sliced bread.  That just does NOT sell at all!

What I’m talking about here, is writing an article that gives f’ree VALUABLE information.  This is an article that really teaches your reader something.

It needs to be an article that makes your reader feel like they just had an “Ah-Ha” moment and make them curious about what else you can teach them.

That’s what really drives traffic!

Once you write the RIGHT kind of article, then it’s a  matter of getting it out to your market.  There are a number of ways that you can do this.

You can either:

*  Submit your article to article directories manually.
This requires that you go to each one, one after another, fill out a form, and submit your article and then wait  for approval.

*  Submit your article through an article syndicator.
This route let’s you submit to thousands of article directories at one time.  It also frequently includes newsletter publishers as well.  But, this is going to cost you!  In fact, it can even cost you BIG (one service that I use is around $50 per quarter).

*  Submit your article using special software.
If you know the RIGHT article directories to have a presence in, then you can use special software to submit to hundreds of them at one time.

It isn’t the number of article directories that carry your article that will bring in the most traffic …

It’s being in the RIGHT article directories (the ones that have the greatest number of people in YOUR niche) that makes all the difference.
