As you may know, I’ve been teaching how to make an irresistible offer from stages and webinars for over a decade. Yes, I am the master of structure on how to sell without being pushy or salesy. But there’s an element beyond the structure that makes all the difference on whether that structure attracts your ideal client or not. And that is your energy.

On my beach walk this morning I made you this quick video diving into the balance between energy and structure when it comes to bringing your offer to the world.

Meant For More Moment:

Have you ever had a super vivid dream that felt so clear that you knew you’d remember the details forever, only to find that moments later you couldn’t remember the first darn detail about it?

Frustrating, huh?

Well, that’s kinda how possibility works. We get inspired and start to see new visions, possible for ourselves, and it seems so vivid and strong. And then we sleep on it and poof, we have thoughts like, “What was I thinking?”

It’s amazing how fast a life changing vision can devolve into something we question, and guess what…the same things happen to the people you are meant to help! They see the possibility of a life with the result of your help, but if they don’t act on securing your help, it seems like a silly idea the next day.

That’s why limiters matter. Today’s video will show you how and why limiters can be a tool to support your best life and the lives of the people you are meant to serve.

Ever take a moment to yourself and realize how good it feels to occasionally just slow down; to breathe, to think, to take a good deep look at life happening around you, and to appreciate the little things?

I’ve slowed down a lot in the last year. An intentional slowing down. And I can share definitively that it’s paying off in all kinds of beautiful ways.

There are choices we make every day, week, month, and year as we grow our businesses. From slowing down to intentionally create more white space in my life I can see the choices I made and today I’m inspired to share the things I did right so you can take them into consideration as you build a life and business that you love too.

Your Meant for More Moment:

For over a decade I’ve worked to convince my clients that when it comes to monetizing your mission, you don’t have to learn to do everything yourself. That’s part of what Meant for More is all about…discovering your Unique Value so you can focus on that and in turn, enjoy the Unique Value that others have to offer.

Put simply, you stay in your lane and I’ll stay in mine and voila…we both benefit and the world is better off.

But every once in a while, something different arises within us. A knowing that we DO need to take something on ourselves. Even if someone else is better suited to do it, sometimes the creative part of us; the part that is yearning for a creative stretch needs to spread its wings.

Here’s how I know…

Ahhh…some of the blessings of quarantine include things I would have never thought of in busier times.

One of the trademarks of attaining more in your life and career is the ability to be decisive amidst a sea of continually tough choices. And whether you’re currently a leader or a member of a team, you undoubtedly face a swirl of difficult decisions that can so often rise up and render you frozen.

Especially now, when it may feel like you’re confronted by so many decisions that could alter your life in really big ways.

So where can you turn for answers? Your heart? Your gut?

As important as it is for you to follow your instincts and act on your inspiration, you also need to cultivate the ability to take action even when inspiration isn’t present or obvious to you. Because as powerful as inspiration is, unfortunately, it isn’t a constant. There will be times you need to make a choice even when your heart isn’t sending a clear message about what you want in that moment.

Decisiveness does take courage because committing to a course of action means that you are saying no to some of your other options. And the good news is that you can strengthen your decision-making muscles so that it doesn’t feel as scary. I’ve got an exercise that will help you do just that. Take 2 minutes and check it out here.

The decisions you make every day shape the story you will eventually tell about your relationships, your business, your family, and your life. Although it may seem like a little thing, avoiding making even tiny decisions sets the stage for you to feel like you don’t have a say in how the story of your life gets written. You basically put yourself in a position of waiting for other people or circumstances to make your decisions for you. Leave too many decisions unmade, and you scatter your energy and invite more indecision into your life. You become reactive instead of being proactive.

And if there was ever a good time to be proactive, I would venture to say it’s now, agreed?

Right now you are being given an opportunity to be decisive and make the choice to achieve the more in your life. To embark on your Meant for More Journey. And I’m here to support you with our upcoming Meant for More 30-Day Challenge!

In the coming weeks, I will be announcing the start of our Meant for More 30-Day Challenge, pulled right from Chapter 13 in my new best-selling book.

I have a not-so-big newsflash for you: no one is perfect. None of us have all the right answers or excel at everything we do or are even excited by all the things we have to do to contribute and be helpful in our roles.

But the secret is, that can be a good thing!

And, even more importantly, those perceived flaws or imperfections that you may be trying to mask are actually incredibly beneficial to your growth and instrumental to your Meant for More Journey.

Embracing imperfection is an exercise in the art of letting go. You let go of the need to have everything all figured out before you take the first step. It’s about letting go of your fear—fear of failure, change, or looking like you don’t know what you’re doing. (The one I battle is the fear of having to do something twice.) Because the truth is, everyone makes mistakes, change is inevitable, and every last one of us has many moments of not knowing what we’re doing. The things we work so hard to prevent are in many cases, unavoidable.

I know you want to put your best foot forward, and it can be scary to do something that maybe you’ve never done before. I’m not saying to go forward with shoddy work. I also know that what’s typically happening while you’re still “working on it” is that your gifts are not getting to help the people who need them. And that’s a disservice to the people you are meant to help.

There is a level of trust that you need to access—trust that the 5 or 25 years you’ve spent doing this thing that you’re great at, or the things you learned when you overcame that big personal challenge, or the skill that comes so naturally to you that is mystifying to other people, is already good enough to help people. You have to trust that even if you use your gifts imperfectly, you will still be able to guide someone who needs your knowledge, expertise or service a welcomed transformation. This is your blessing we’re talking about. It’s not a fluke or an accident. It matters. And you’ve got to trust yourself enough to be willing to make your offer. I talk about how to organize your gift and your offer in Chapter 9 of my new best-selling book Meant for More: Clarify Your Offer, so if you want to take it a step further and know how you’ll do this—I can walk you through the whole process! But for now, it’s time to start embracing your imperfections and your learning curve.

I wrote Meant for More as a blueprint for getting the “more” you’ve been longing for; a proven system you can use to learn how to discover your unique value so you can make a difference with your one-of-a-kind gifts and finally charge what you’re worth. You will help more people and create more abundance for yourself and those you love when you stop giving away your gifts for free.

And now, at a time of uncertainty and challenges, it is the key to unlocking your potential and taking back control of your life so you can have more and use your gifts for what is most important: to help.

Below is a brief excerpt from my book that offers you some inspiration and a sense of the results that the formula I’ve developed can help you achieve at work, at home, and in life. Enjoy!

Reframe the Game: A New Definition of Sales

From now on, every time you hear the word “selling” or “sales” out loud or in your head, I want you to replace those words in your mind with “making an invitation.” Because that’s really what sales is all about—inviting people to take advantage of a compelling opportunity in the form of an irresistible offer. It’s about empowering someone to walk through the door of what’s possible by their own volition. You don’t need to convince them or pursue them—you merely invite them.

An invitation is the simple definition of sales. But there are a lot more wonderful ways to view selling. It is also an opportunity for you to:

Share your gifts.

I fully believe that every person on the planet has within them the capacity to touch the lives of others, and that to keep that capacity hidden is a disservice both to you and to the world at large. Sell- ing is how you create the opportunity to share those gifts with the people who need them. That’s why my life’s mission is to inspire people to own their unique value and have the confidence and courage to open up and make irresistible offers to the people they were meant to serve. (If you’re hearing a little voice in your head right now saying, “Gifts? What gifts?” we’ll talk about how to discover and unwrap your unique gifts in Chapter 4.)

Make a difference.

When you share your gifts with people who are ready to make a change, you exercise the power that resides within each of us to make this world a better place. Think of Miss Julie—the kids she teaches are learning how to use their voices, how practicing something you care about helps you get better, and how they can use their individual voices to contribute to a greater whole. Or imagine you want to talk to your partner about improving your relationship: When you learn how to propose that in an irresistible way, you stand to strengthen your relationship, which will provide a better foundation for each of you to go out and make a difference in this world, as well as a powerful model of a successful relationship for your kids, friends, and family to be inspired by. In this new definition of sales, everyone wins. There are no losers. Imagine if everyone on the planet were focused on using their gifts to create a good outcome for everyone (including themselves). If you do it, it’ll be much more likely that others will do it too.

Make more money.

It is very true that learning how to get more people to say yes to your irresistible offer can positively impact your bottom line. After all, knowing how to sell means that you’ll have more sales! But even if you aren’t an entrepreneur, using the Meant for More Formula to name, claim, and value your gifts will help you be a better advocate and negotiator for yourself. You’ll see what you are uniquely suited to do—what no one else can do quite like you can—and you’ll seek opportunities where the value you bring to the table is needed and rewarded. It is a completely just and natural consequence that putting more value out into the world causes more value to come back to you—and a common form for that value to take is dollar bills (or whatever currency your country uses).

Give people an opportunity to say yes to themselves.

In this new definition of selling, you are not seeking to get people to say yes to you. You are seeking to get them to say yes to themselves and to commit to taking action that brings them closer to something they want. In other words, you are not the pursuer. The person you’re making an offer to is the pursuer. And they aren’t pursuing you, they are pursuing their own version of “more.” This is comforting news for anyone who thinks that selling is somehow egocentric. It’s not. Rather, it’s about being of service. Knowing this can help you get over yourself and just show up for the people you were meant to serve without worrying about how it makes you look.

Empower people to make a decision.

As powerful as creating that opening for transformation is, it’s not enough. That door will only stay open for a short time before the person you’re hoping to help will either get distracted by their busy life or their inner critic or well-meaning friends and advisors will start chiming in with all kinds of reasons why the transformation isn’t feasible. So one of the aims of your irresistible offer is to provide all the information that person needs to be able to make a decision on the spot, before that door closes. And that decision doesn’t even need to be a yes. It’s just as valuable for them to hear your offer and say no in the moment. Because then they don’t have to sleep on it, talk it over with their spouse, or keep it as an open item in their minds. After all, we all have enough open items on our mental to-do lists; having one more only adds to our general sense of overload. The goal of selling in the Meant for More model is merely to get people to make a choice. By giving people everything they need to be able to make decisions for themselves, you get to sit back and trust that exactly the right people will accept your offer. It removes any subconscious fear of being pushy or manipulative, and that’s a beautiful thing.
