We are delighted to announce the date and theme for our 21st annual NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES, back for the fourth year at THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM in New York City. NOTS 21: THE WILD HEART will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 and tickets will go on sale on January 15.

This year's lovestruck, Victorian heart-flavored edition is inspired by one of Stevie's early albums - THE WILD HEART - and its title song. The NOTS 21 stage will feature Legends of Stevie Realness from all eras of the show AND brand new talent as we begin our third decade of Total Stevie (Nicks) Realness. Right after New Year's The Jackie Factory will begin assembling the bill and reviewing applications from new performers. If you would like to apply for one of our six new performer's slots for 2011, please email us at events @ jackiefactory.com and we will send you instructions beginning January 3. We will be reviewing submissions through March 1, and will be notifying all new performer applicants during the first week of March.

Our next missive will have lots more details, including first confirmed performers, more about the theme and suggested dress, and box office information. We wanted to get the date out early so you can begin to make plans, and will be back in touch before the box office opens. As always we thank you for your tremendous love and support, and look forward to seeing so many of you on May 6.

Hopelessly Enchanted ... This event began at JACKIE 60 in 1991 with four performers, and has grown into a true spectacle, featuring countless interpretations over a marathon night. In 2010, the twentieth edition of NOTS won the coveted GLAMMY AWARD for BEST NIGHTLIFE EVENT - it also inspired the 2001 film GYPSY 83. As always, this Enchanted evening will climax in a twirl of shawls and tambourines with the Battle of a Thousand Stevies near morning.

Photo: BROOKE MCMAHAN onstage at NOTS 20, photo by KEVIN TACHMAN

REQUIRED
CLICKNYC.COM

The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style and was reborn in 2008, announces its third annual Future-Spectacle for October 9. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and nightlife impresario CHI CHI VALENTI of THE JACKIE FACTORY will stage this year's epic CLICK + DRAG 3.2/ AGE OF AQUARIUS at the suitably Aquarian venue SANTOS PARTY HOUSE. CLICK 3.2/ AGE OF AQUARIUS is a two floor, evening-length epic, preserving the night's strict dress code, elaborate installations and stage shows, and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds."

The Age of Aquarius - the Utopian "New Age" of unity and love - has either begun or is beginning, depending on which astrological sages one believes. Regardless, the Aquarian themes of humanism, peace, rebellion, idealism and philanthropy are already ascending, by way of computer networks and other new tools and in the growing acceptance of non-traditional religions and belief systems. As the brutal, materialistic Age of Pisces draws to an end, values shift towards spiritual rebirth and planetary harmony. To the CLICK + DRAG producers, the Aquarian ideal compliments the neo-tribalism of many Click participants and the mixing of masculine and feminine traits into countless unique new genders, a recurring theme of this spectacular "gathering of the tribes".

With this Utopian brew as inspiration, CLICK + DRAG 3.2 will feature multimedia works directed by ROB ROTH with light shows by SETH KIRBY and BROCK MONROE of the JOSHUA LIGHT SHOW and the contributions of dozens of creative collaborators. Highlights will include performances by neo-burlesque performance artist NARCISSISTER, RUMI OF THE FABULOUS COCKETTES!, vocal she-goddesses AMBER MARTIN and LADY RIZO, neue cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS, and Method Go-Go icons including bodybuilder (and Click 3.2 cover girl) ROXANNE EDWARDS and costume cultist FALON. The evening also features costume design by longtime Click couturier GARO SPARO and a futuristic soundtrack that runs the gamut from sixties psychedelia to electro house.

A STRICT CYBER/FETISH/TRIBAL DRESS CODE WILL BE COMPLETELY ENFORCED: WEAR AQUARIAN FLOURISHES, GLITTER BEARDS AND MERKINS, RESPLENDENT RAGS, PAGAN CHIC, WATERFALL HEADDRESSES, TURQUOISE PAINT, GODDESS OR TRANS-GODDESS, BODY-ADORNED or CYBER, FETISH, TRIBAL, GENDER-HACKING, FAERIE, GOTHIC OR BRILLIANT BLACK. ABSOLUTELY NO STREET CLOTHES OR MUNDANES - NO EXCEPTIONS.

CLICK + DRAG began as the Saturday-night weekly at CHI CHI VALENTI's experimental MOTHER nightclub in 1996 and ran for four years in over 200 themed editions. The new hybrid was evolved by Roth, Valenti, fashion designer KITTY BOOTS and journalist ABBY EHMANN and explored the interface between nightclubs and computers as CLICK + DRAG built a fanatic following. When MOTHER closed in 2000, they launched CLICK + DRAG 2.0, a monthly edition at Chinatown's FUN, which thrived until the events of 9/11/01. CLICK + DRAG 3.0 introduced its new annual format at a 2008 reboot at SANTOS, and followed up with last year's stunning CLICK + DRAG 3.1. Both editions brought out five hundred or more enthusiastic attendees in extraordinary costume, and were widely documented online. Do NOT miss the once-a-year chance to participate in this completely unique New York club spectacle.

Press contact CHI CHI VALENTI at THE JACKIE FACTORY NYC -
events @ jackiefactory.com or facebook.com/chichivalenti

Image: CLICK 3.2 Invite, photo and design, ROB ROTH, models ROXANNE EDWARDS (center) with NICHOLAS GORHAM (left) and EUGENE SOLDATOV.
On September 12, JACKIE FACTORY producers CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL will present their fourth annual LOW LIFE to crown the 2010 HOWL! FESTIVAL. LOW LIFE is the free and fabulous Sunday evening climax to HOWL! - a two hour spectacular inspired by East Village decades past. Each year's theme is served up in a lavishly costumed production starring dozens of downtown's finest. This year's LOW LIFE 4: BEAT GIRL pays homage to homegrown fifties beatnik culture and the BOWERY BEATS - the rebel painters, poets and performers drifting east from Greenwich Village. The show also sheds light on the Women of the Beat Generation, often overlooked, and their influence on 50's Burlesque.

The BEAT theme of LOW LIFE 4 will be interpreted by multiple dance companies, in vocal and musical performances, burlesque and drag renderings and of course - spoken word! The bill includes international drag icons JOEY ARIAS and SHERRY VINE, Burlesque Queen DIRTY MARTINI and Boylesque King TIGGER, butoh company VANGELINE THEATER, spoken word icons PAUL SKIFF and BOBBY MILLER, sensationalist AMBER RAY, chanteuse HEATHER LITTEER and the Low Life debuts of BROWN GIRLS BURLESQUE and the RACHEL KLEIN THEATER. As in years past, LOW LIFE features two MCs - recording artist PAUL ALEXANDER (of THE ONES and JACKIE 60) with EMPRESS CHI CHI VALENTI, the show's co-producer.

Dress Up And Join Us In The Park! Wear Beat Girl Glamour, Beatnik Cliches, Bettie Page Boho, Angelheaded Hipster, Black Tights, Abstract Expressionist Bodypaint, Berets, Beat Burlesque (North Beach vs. Left Bank), Existential Trannie, Rivington Street Refusenik or Art School Effects. Carry Sunflowers or BYOB (Bring Your Own Bongos)

LOW LIFE events were inspired by the seminal LUC SANTE book "LOW LIFE: The Lures and Snares of Old New York" and are produced by local performance collective THE JACKIE FACTORY NYC. The annual LOW LIFE extravaganzas at HOWL! continue a body of work born at the seminal Meat Market nightclub JACKIE 60 in 1997, with past editions in London, Minneapolis and of course, the HOWL! FESTIVAL since 2007. For the show's producers, East Village residents for over two decades, this annual spectacular is a Valentine to the neighborhood's past, present and future stars.

THE HOWL! FESTIVAL was named in honor of the groundbreaking poem by ALLEN GINSBERG and began in 2003. HOWL celebrates the East Village and Lower East Side's role as a preeminent locus of culture, with signature events like the group reading of HOWL and ART AROUND THE PARK. Centered in Tompkins Square Park, the festival attracts more than 100,000 visitors to the clubs, galleries, parks, streets, and theaters of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Summer 2009 marked the addition of HOWL! HELP, a year-round emergency assistance and health fund for East Village/ Loisaida artists of all eras and disciplines - visit the howlfestival.com website for more information. The 2010 festival runs for the whole month of September in venues including THEATRE 80 ST. MARKS, BOWERY POETRY CLUB, ELLA, BOWERY ELECTRIC and ST. MARKS CHURCH.

THE JACKIE FACTORY is the NYC based nightclub arts collective founded by husband and wife team CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL in 1990. Most famous for the 450 themed editions of its decade-long party JACKIE 60, venue MOTHER, and annual Stevie Nicks extravaganza NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES, "the Factory" also creates large-scale spectacles in New York and cities nationwide and worldwide.

Like many of you, we are on the quest for the perfect shawl(s), tambourine and blonde tresses for this year's NIGHT - but isn't the trying on of so many costume choices part of the fun of NOTS? (Scroll down for this year's costume suggestions if you need them..) Another highlight for us is seeing the many performers and audience members who travel in every year from so many countries and cities just to twirl with us on The Night. We salute them and all they sacrifice to be there, and CAN'T WAIT to spend another epic NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES with you!

- Chi Chi Valenti, Hattie Hathaway and Johnny Dynell
NOTS Producers

THE JACKIE FACTORY NYC PRESENTS
NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES 20:
SISTERS OF THE MOON
FRIDAY MAY 14, 2010
THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM NYC
431 WEST 16TH STREET NYC
DOORS OPEN 9 PM - 4 AM
$25 IN ADVANCE + AT DOOR IF AVAILABLE
BOX OFFICE
18 AND OVER, 21 TO DRINK
NOTS WEBSITE
NOTS ON FACEBOOK

THE JACKIE FACTORY is thrilled to announce that their 20th annual edition NOTS 20 will be held on May 14, 2010 at the HIGHLINE BALLROOM in NYC. We are overjoyed to announce the date and theme for our twentieth annual NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES - it is an anniversary that so many of you have helped make possible by your enthusiasm and great support. We are delighted to be returning for our third year to the THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM, truly a most Enchanted venue for this marathon show. NOTS 20: SISTERS OF THE MOON will be held on Friday, May 14, and tickets will go on sale later this month.

This year's moonlit, milestone edition was inspired by one of Stevie's most enduring and iconic songs, SISTERS OF THE MOON. Though Stevie has not performed this song much of late, it has remained a showpiece and staple of some of NOTS most thrilling performers, from NICOLE NICKS during the JACKIE 60 days right through to POISON EVE and troupe last year. This year's bill will include Legends of Stevie Realness from all eras of the show, and honors them all, who come from all over the country and go through so much to join us, our Sisters of the Moon.

We will now begin assembling the bill for this moonlit milestone edition, with first priority given to Legends of Stevie Realness from the entire history of The Night - those NOTS Legends who are most beloved by our audience, have performed at many editions, or have made NOTS herstory in some way. Of necessity there will be less debuts this year, but we are still passionate about including at least a handful of new performers. If you would like to receive instructions on how to apply, please drop us an email at events@jackiefactory.com. We will be reviewing submissions through March 1, and will be notifying all new performer applicants during the first week of March.

Our next announcement will have lots more details, including first confirmed performers, more about the theme, and box office information. We wanted to get the date out early so you can begin to make plans, and will be back in touch when the box office opens.

Night of a Thousand Stevies is probably the best-known STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. This event began at JACKIE 60 twenty years ago with four performers, and has grown into a true spectacle, featuring countless interpretations over a marathon night. As always, this Enchanted evening will climax in a twirl of shawls and tambourines with the Battle of a Thousand Stevies near morning.

As we once again prepare for a truly magical night, we are humbled by the tremendous support that you bring to NOTS every year. Special greetings to all of our friends from the Stevie Nicks websites and other online outposts for the Gypsies That Remain. Forward and post freely, and we look forward to twirling with all of you, sisters AND brothers of the moon, on May 14.

And The Love Remains -

Chi Chi Valenti, Hattie Hathaway and Johnny Dynell
Producers, NOTS 20

Yeats, THE SECOND COMING, 1919

The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style and returned with a bang last year, announces its second annual Future-Spectacle for October 17. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and nightlife impresario CHI CHI VALENTI of THE JACKIE FACTORY will stage this year's epic CLICK + DRAG 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING at sympatico venue SANTOS PARTY HOUSE. CLICK 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING is a two floor, evening-length epic, preserving the night's strict dress code and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds."

CLICK 3.1 was inspired by the W.B. YEATS poem THE SECOND COMING, and its themes of new gods for (often terrifying) new Ages, "Spiritus Mundi" or universal subconscious, and a post-Christian world. CLICK 3.1 celebrates gender-bending new prophets and prophetesses, and the neo-tribalism that borrows elements from a myriad of religions to create new believers and practices. CLICK + DRAG 3.1 will feature multimedia works directed by Roth and installations and performances by dozens of collaborators.

This year's highlights will include trans icon and vocalist OUR LADY J, who presents an electric take on her GOSPEL FOR THE GODLESS with piano, choir and chadri design by GARO SPARO, gender-illuminati cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS in THE SWITCHING HOUR, and Method Go-Go icons FALON, AMBER RAY and SEQUINETTE. The DJ roster includes original Click (and SCISSOR SISTERS) DJ SAMMY JO, DJ JOHNNY DYNELL (who also creates the night's signature mixes for the clicknyc.com website and show) Darkwave DJs JOSH CHEON (SF) and JOHANNA CONSTANTINE, and electro DJ ANGELO.

A STRICT CYBER/FETISH/TRIBAL DRESS CODE WILL BE COMPLETELY ENFORCED: WEAR GODDESS OR TRANS-GODDESS, GLAMOUR MARTYR, SPHINX-WEAR, RUBBER NUN, PRIESTESS, SEQUINNED SAINT, CROWN OF THORNS, PAGAN CHIC, SHIVA REALNESS or CYBER, FETISH, TRIBAL, GENDER-HACKING, FAERIE, GOTHIC OR BRILLIANT BLACK. ABSOLUTELY NO STREET CLOTHES OR MUNDANES - NO EXCEPTIONS.

CLICK + DRAG began as the Saturday-night weekly at Valenti's experimental MOTHER nightclub in 1996 and ran for four years in over two hundred themed editions. The new hybrid explored the interface between nightclubs and computers as CLICK + DRAG built a fanatic following. When MOTHER closed in 2000, they launched CLICK + DRAG 2.0, a monthly edition at Chinatown's FUN, which thrived until the events of 9/11/01. CLICK + DRAG 3.0 introduced its new annual format at THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR, the 2008 reboot at SANTOS, for over five hundred enthusiastic attendees in extraordinary costume. Do NOT miss the once-a-year chance to drink in this completely unique New York club spectacle.

OUR LADY J, the 2009 CLICK + DRAG headliner and cover girl, photo by ROB ROTH

FESTIVAL AND THE JACKIE FACTORY PRESENT
LOW LIFE 3: VIPER MAD
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 2009
5-7 PM - WE START AND END ON TIME!
FREE ADMISSION
TOMPKINS SQUARE PARK, NYC
mothernyc.com/lowlife
howlfestival.com
eastvillagehowler.blogspot.com

REEFER MADNESS IN THE PARK!

On September 6, JACKIE FACTORY producers CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL will present their third annual LOW LIFE to crown this year's HOWL! FESTIVAL. LOW LIFE is a "Howlucination" created by the JACKIE FACTORY as an evening climax for HOWL! - a two hour theatrical showcasing the East Village - and especially, The Bowery, in a lavishly costumed production starring dozens of downtown's finest. This year's LOW LIFE 3: VIPER MAD - is inspired by the early 20th century "viper" culture shared by downtown (and Harlem) jazzmen and hipsters, the opium dens of nearby Chinatown and other Olde New York drug cultures. The rich repertoire of "Viper Songs" popularized by CAB CALLOWAY, FATS WALLER and dozens of ensembles through the 20s, 30s and 40s will be interpreted in dance numbers, vocal and musical performances, burlesque and drag renderings.

This year's marijuana-tinged edition features two MCs - PAUL ALEXANDER (of "The Ones" and JACKIE 60) with EMPRESS CHI CHI VALENTI, the show's co-producer. The splendid cast includes burlesque Goddess DIRTY MARTINI, choreographer JULIE ATLAS MUZ with the PIXIE HARLOTS in "REEFER MADNESS", New Bowery crooner ADAM DUGAS, butoh ensemble VANGELINE THEATER (who will reprise their "Butoh Brothel" for this special edition), period visionaries JONNY PORKPIE and NASTY CANASTA with PINCHBOTTOM BURLESQUE, international Dragstar SHERRY VINE of East Village based THEATRE COUTURE with special guest JOEY ARIAS (of ARIAS WITH A TWIST), THE NEW YORK SCHOOL OF BURLESQUE choreographed by founder JO BOOBS WELDON and featuring MISS PEEKABOO POINTE, nightclub eminence HATTIE HATHAWAY, sensationalist AMBER RAY, Red Hot Mama ERICKATOURE AVIANCE, reefer striptease by MISS MELODY SWEETS, vocal stylings of MR. PATTY BRUCE, and Viper Vamps DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA, LEGS MALONE and HEATHER LITTEER aka JESSICA RABBIT DOMINATION.

Dress Up and join us in the park! Wear NYC demimonde evening effects (1860-2010), Viper Glamour, Ragtime Rags, Cab Calloway effects for Butch Women, corsets and vintage lingerie, Opium Den loungewear, Gangs of New York, Reefer motifs, First Avenue Flapper, Top Hats or Bowery Punk.

The LOW LIFE events were inspired by the seminal LUC SANTE book "LOW LIFE: The Lures and Snares of Old New York." The annual LOW LIFE extravaganzas at HOWL! continue a body of work born at JACKIE 60 over a decade ago, with past editions in London, Minneapolis and of course, the 2007 and 2008 HOWL! Festivals. For the show's producers, East Village residents for over two decades, this annual spectacular is a Valentine to the neighborhood's past, present and future stars.

THE HOWL! FESTIVAL was named in honor of the groundbreaking poem by ALLEN GINSBERG and began in 2002. Summer 2009 marks the addition of HOWL! HELP, a year-round emergency assistance/health fund for East Village/Loisaida artists of all eras and disciplines - visit the howlfestival.com website for more information. It also marks the first year that the festival runs for the whole month of September in venues including 45 BLEECKER, the NEW MUSEUM and ST. MARKS CHURCH visit the EAST VILLAGE HOWLER blog for all the fabulous details!

NOTS 19: SONGS OF RHIANNON will be a May Day marathon of twirling and enchantment, produced by the JACKIE FACTORY NYC. This year's theme - and the centerpiece of the show - are the ten "SONGS OF RHIANNON" penned by STEVIE NICKS in her BUCKINGHAM NICKS days. Some are well loved and well known, like RHIANNON, PLANETS OF THE UNIVERSE, ANGEL and SORCERER, others are only demos. In stage decor, visuals and costuming, NOTS 19 pays homage to the Celtic white witch RHIANNON - fitting for a date that is both MAY DAY and BELTANE.

The ever-growing bill features many of the unique and timeless stars that make "The Night" so special, and the search is now on for this year's new discoveries, to be announced in early March. Returning Legends of Stevie Realness include NYC Dragstars (and Project Runway supermodels) SHERRY VINE and SWEETIE, perennial NOTS divas THE HO-HOs (CATHY CERVENKA and JILL PANGALLO), AMBER GARBO (Las Vegas), GYPSY WILDE, NOTS 19 cover girl JAZMEN FLOWERS (Mississippi), BILLY O, CHARLENE CORAN (Colorado), HEATHER LITTEER (aka JESSICA RABBIT DOMINATION), LIZZIE DAVIS (Texas), THE DIVINE GRACE, PREL (of Georgia's BLUE LAMP events), AMBER RAY with THE HOUSE OF DOMINATION, TIFFANEY (of MIRROR IN THE SKY), and singer/songwriter ADAM JOSEPH. Show producers CHI CHI VALENTI and HATTIE HATHAWAY will serve as "Enchantresses of Ceremony" and all-Stevie/Fleetwood DJs CRAIG SPENCER, SAMMY JO and POISON EVE will keep the dancefloor Hopelessly Enchanted between show sets.

Suggested Dress: Rhiannon Realness, Important Celtic Jewelry, Black Roses, Wizard Sleeves, Enchanted Eveningwear, May Day Maiden, Lindsey Or John McVie Warlock Effects, Birds of Rhiannon wings and feathers, Best Pre-Raphaelite Hair In Rock and Roll, Thistle Accents, Sorcerer Capes and Cloaks, Bedazzled and Beribboned Tambourines or Welsh Witch (Dark Ages to Darkwave)

NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES is the biggest and best-loved STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, one of those great New York City spectacles that sparks travel from all around the globe. Born in 1990 at the tiny performance venue MOTHER, "The Night" has run for eighteen years, even inspiring the 2001 film GYPSY 83. Neither a contest nor a karaoke show, NOTS is the Stevie celebration ne plus ultra - a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. As always, the night will climax with the heart-stopping BATTLE OF A THOUSAND STEVIES, as all the show's performers and longtime fans take the stage for a final dose of "Total Stevie Realness".

Image: NOTS 19 SONGS OF RHIANNON invitation artwork by THE JACKIE FACTORY, featuring JAZMEN FLOWERS, photo by ALISHA BYNUM. We'll be posting soon with lots more on this year's performers, theme, dress code and more, but meanwhile here's the first whiff:

THE JACKIE FACTORY NYC PRESENTS
NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STEVIES 19:"SONGS OF RHIANNON"
FRIDAY MAY 1, 2009
THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM
431 WEST 16TH STREET NYC
DOORS OPEN 9 PM - 4 AM
$25 ADMISSION, 18 AND OVER
mothernyc.com/stevie

Greetings from downtown New York City to all of our friends and club family, and all who have joined us since last year's NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES. We hope you are warm and enjoying this brand new year, with all its hope and challenges. We are overjoyed to announce the date and theme for the 2009 NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES 19. After so much positive feedback about last year's new venue - THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM - we are happy to be returning there this year. NOTS 19: SONGS OF RHIANNON will be held on Friday, May 1, and tickets will go on sale on February 1.

In stage decor, visuals and costuming, we'll pay homage to the Celtic white witch RHIANNON - fitting for a date that is both MAY DAY and BELTANE.

Our next announcement will have lots more details, including first confirmed performers, more about the theme, and box office information. We wanted to get the date out this weekend so you can begin to make plans, and will be back in touch when the box office opens.

Night of a Thousand Stevies is probably the best-known STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. This event began at JACKIE 60 nineteen years ago with four performers, and has grown into a true spectacle, featuring countless interpretations over a marathon night. As always, this Enchanted evening will climax in a twirl of shawls and tambourines with the Battle of a Thousand Stevies near morning.

BOX OFFICE AND TICKETS

Advance tickets $20 February 1-15 (a thank-you to our longtime attendees)
$25 after February 15 and at the door if available.
Box Office opens February 1 on the HIGHLINE BALLROOM site

Photo by Mr. Wilson, the famous TAMBOURINE TOSS at NOTS 18

UNVEIL
CLICK + DRAG 3:0
"THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR"
SANTOS' PARTY HOUSE
100 LAFAYETTE STREET NYC
9 PM-4 AM
clicknyc.com
myspace.com/click_drag_nyc

The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style, returns as a new large-scale annual this Fall. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and impresario CHI CHI VALENTI - join with XRIS SMACK! of the long-running SMACK FETISH parties to shape this latest incarnation. The first of their cyber-spectacles, CLICK + DRAG 3.0: THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR, will be unveiled on November 15 at sympatico venue SANTOS' PARTY HOUSE.

CLICK + DRAG began as the Saturday-night weekly at Valenti's experimental MOTHER nightclub in 1996 and ran for four years in over two hundred themed editions. The new hybrid built on a body of work called INTERJACKIE, evolved by Roth, Valenti and costume/fashion designer KITTY BOOTS at JACKIE 60, beginning in 1994. With the addition of sex journalist ABBY EHMANN, the four producers explored the interface between nightclubs and computers as CLICK + DRAG built a fanatic following. With their rigorously enforced "STRICT CYBER/FETISH DRESS CODE" the producers ensured that only participants were allowed in. The creative collaboration introduced some pioneering aspects to the Nightworld, including Roth's notorious "Bathroom Cam", and also gave birth to THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC, a nocturnal online community.

When MOTHER closed in 2000 due to spiralling costs in its Meat Market neighborhood, Roth, Boots and Ehmann launched CLICK + DRAG 2.0, a monthly edition at FUN. In its new larger format, CLICK + DRAG was thriving until the events of 9/11 shut down Chinatown for many months. Since the last edition of Click 2.0 that Fall, one of the city's most seminal and creative parties disappeared for seven years - though its many tribes stayed connected online.

CLICK + DRAG 3.0 introduces an even larger format on two floors, preserving the night's strict dress code and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds." This rebooted evening was inspired by the Dali painting "THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR", cyber-shamanism, the writings of TERENCE MCKENNA, and the new tribalism that brings Click's audience and performers together both online and at large gatherings worldwide.

The event's two floors will feature multimedia works directed by Roth and installations and performances by many collaborators from the two previous iterations. These include 1.0 producer and Burning Man eminence ABBY EHMANN as the "KINK CONTROLLER", DJs JOHANNA CONSTANTINE and SAMMY JO, Minneapolis-based Trans-Star VENUS DE MARS with her band ALL THE PRETTY HORSES and "Method Go-Go" icon FALON. 21st century additions include sensationalist AMBER RAY, glitter-dusted cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS, and DJs JOHNNY DYNELL, the "FAERIE DJ POSSE" MALAKAI and ANGELO (San Francisco) and XRIS_SMACK! The bill, dress code and theme is still evolving - look for full information and box office by mid-October.

$20 ADVANCE, $25 AT DOOR
A STRICT DRESS CODE WILL BE COMPLETELY ENFORCED
TICKETS ON SALE OCTOBER 10
21 AND OVER

Publicity and Press:
THE JACKIE FACTORY NYC
events@jackiefactory.com
212 929-6060

RELATED LINKS

Click + Drag Facebook Group
Click + Drag MySpace
Rob Roth rob-roth.com
Chi Chi Valenti mothernyc.com/empress
Xris and Smack-Fetish smack-fetish.com
The Motherboards NYC motherboardsnyc.com

It is always such a pleasure to present creative work in this beautiful town, especially when it involves her talented denizens. Between our performers BASIL TWIST, ANNA CONDA, KELLITA, Queen of SF Carnival, MALAKAI and SPARKLY devil and their various entourages, the room was already beautiful before the audience arrived! And the audience was heaven..

We've just posted pictures to our FLICKER SITE and there are pictures and reports galore at the TINGEL TANGEL SF topic on THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC. A time-travelling, bawdy and witty cavalcade of talent, this show is not recommended for children!

This year's superb cast includes MCs PAUL ALEXANDER (of "The Ones") and HATTIE HATHAWAY, JOEY ARIAS and master puppeteer BASIL TWIST (currently starring in "Arias With A Twist" at HERE), Burlesque supernovas DIRTY MARTINI, MISS DELIRIUM TREMENS and JONNY PORKPIE and NASTY CANASTA of PINCHBOTTOM BURLESQUE, drag divinity SWEETIE, butoh ensemble VANGELINE THEATER, drag comediennes DUELLING BANKHEADS, icon WORLD FAMOUS *BOB*, sensationalist AMBER RAY, LOGO song star ADAM JOSEPH as The Irish Tenor, neue-cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS and thesbians HEATHER LITTEER and TIGGER.(Bill is still in formation through mid August.)

HOWLUCINATION '08: LOW LIFE CITY was inspired by the seminal LUC SANTE book "LOW LIFE: The Lures and Snares of Old New York." It continues a body of work born at JACKIE 60 a decade ago, with past editions in London, Minneapolis and of course, last year's HOWL! For the show's producers, East Village residents for over two decades, this annual show is a Valentine to the neighborhood's past, present and future stars.

Dress Up and join us in the park! Wear NYC demimonde evening glamour (1860-2010), Gangs of New York, Victorian/Edwardian rags, newsboy caps, B'hoy for Butch Women, corsets and vintage lingerie, Bowery Belle ringlets, Opium Den loungewear, Vampyre of Gotham, black parasols, Bowery Twink, velvet, 19th century Clownwear, Top Hats or Bowery Punk.

THE HOWL! FESTIVAL was named in honor of the groundbreaking poem by ALLEN GINSBERG and began in 2002. HOWL celebrates the East Village and Lower East Side's role as a preeminent locus of culture, with signature events like the group reading of HOWL and ART AROUND THE PARK. Centered in Tompkins Square Park, the festival attracts more than 100,000 visitors bringing to the clubs, galleries, parks, streets, and theaters of Manhattan's Lower East Side.

More on last year's edition at the LOW LIFE '07 page

When the city in question - Minneapolis - is brimming with local talent, and the setting a glamorous alley, all the hard work melts away.

Here, the lovely MUSETTE from Twin Cities burlesque troupe extraordinaire LE CIRQUE ROUGE, turns it out on the LOW LIFE stage.
