That’s really why I started the jazz podcast…sharing jazz love with friends and trying to make you happy with the music. Meanwhile the number of subscribers has expanded over 500.000…! Oopss…my bandwidth…. ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In order to have more of a conversation with all you guys &amp; girls, I’ve worked out a new blog where you will also find more background on the jazz vinyl podcasts and other jazz related stuff. Information on upcoming jazz vinyl podshows will also be posted on the blog. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Have a look at my new baby: &lt;a href="http://jazzarific.org"&gt;jazzarific.org&lt;/a&gt;. He started his musical career playing with George Morrison's band, but then went on to join Terrence Holder's Dark Clouds of Joy. In 1929 he was elected leader after Holder departed. Renaming themselves Twelve Clouds of Joy they set up in the Pla-Mor Ballroom on the junction of 32nd and Main in Kansas City and made their first recording for Brunswick Records that same year. Mary Lou Williams came in as pianist at the last moment, but she impressed Brunswick's Dave Kapp, so she became a regular member of the band. His music is so powerfull that it has survived through the years when the "Big Bands" were dropping by the wayside.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This collection contains some of the Count's priceless recordings for listening - and they are also very danceable.
