With the 2010 jetBlue Adventure ending, I am taking the rest of the year to determine the next step for this site. I don't plan to post again till 2011 when I have a better focus on what comes next. The 2011 Adventure is already being planned. I am working with a few individuals to improve the site, give access to more adventures, and looking towards the new year. Beginning with the first flight, I tracked everything I could during the adventure. I enjoy statistics and so this was simple. From the flight attendants who thought I was crazy for asking what the plane name was, the waiting passengers looking oddly at me for taking pictures of the gate info, and the passengers on board sitting nearby who were glancing at my laptop in-flight to see what I could possibly be writing; well here you go. This is a full recap of what the past 30 days entailed in numbers...

So there you have it. Some of the stats I kept of my adventure. I sat in every letter seat (A-E), I sat in the first row, I sat in the exit row, and I sat in the back row. I tried every snack and even a snack box. I never flew with the same flight crew or pilots. I never encountered an unhappy flight attendant, unruly passenger, or flight emergency (thankfully). I flew on the planes Blue Send Me, Sincerely Blue, Do Be Do Be Blue, All You Can Blue, Blue Crew, As Blue As You Get, Clear Blue Sky, and Viva La Blue just to name a few. I spent nearly 4 of the 30 days in the air. I went East to West, North to South, Southeast to Northwest, and everything in between. I flew with Pauly D of Jersey Shore fame to Denver and I rode the elevator with Kim Kardashian in Florida. I met an amazing amount of interesting people on the flights, in the airports, and across the country. Thankfully I lived to tell you all about it. The adventure may have just ended, but this site is just beginning. Pictures, stories from the trip, and what comes next for me is coming.

Las Vegas

I checked out Las Vegas one final time during the adventure. Considering how much I enjoyed the strip the first time around, I knew I needed to return. I hung out at New York, New York and the MGM Grand for most of the day before heading to the Las Vegas Hilton. If you like sports and you're ever in Las Vegas, visiting the Hilton is essentially like visiting the candy store when you're craving candy corn. The place is simply unbelievable. After losing a quick hundred, I headed for one final stroll down the strip on my way to the airport. All I could think about is all the different places I've been, people I've met, and experiences I've had during the past 29 days. The adventure is coming to a close and I hope you will check back here tomorrow for the final day of the adventure. I will have recaps, stories, and much more to discuss. Most importantly what does the future hold? That's coming too.

My day in Charlotte

It was raining upon arrival in Charlotte at around 9AM this morning but by the time I was outside and riding the Sprinter shuttle to downtown, the rain stopped. The transportation center where the bus stops, is directly across the street from the Time Warner Cable - home of the Charlotte Bobcats. As they prepare for the upcoming season, don't forget to check out Rips Tickets for all your Charlotte ticket needs and requests. After checking out the campus of Johnson & Wales, I headed to Bank of America stadium, the home of the Carolina Panthers. I browsed the team store and believe it or not they sell game-used pants. I guess you really can dress up here as your favorite Panthers player for Halloween. The way the Panthers have been playing this season , maybe the pants can be used for a tryout for the team. Following a good lunch downtown I headed back to the airport. While the weather wasn't perfect, I had no complaints and recommend Charlotte as a destination to visit if you're on the east coast.

Destination 20 - Charlotte

The past week has been an interesting one. There has been a missed flight due to to the NJ Transit. The train from Penn Station to Newark decided to have mechanical failures and therefore the 30 minute delay cost me precious time. When you're traveling as much as I am, everything minute is important and cutting it close has been something I was doing well until now. To top of a missed flight, I enjoyed the great luck of not only having a flight canceled from Syracuse, I had the last flight of the day canceled in Syracuse. This forced me to take a bus 6 hrs to New York City.

Anyway, the adventure hits Charlotte for the day and hopes to check out the Bobcats Arena, Nascar related stores, and some more sports related places. Charlotte is big on its sports and I'm excited to check them out.

While in South Florida, I attended the Sunday Night Football match up between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. The Jets ended up winning the game 31-23. It was a thriller that came down to the last play. If you are a fan of either team, I highly recommend you check out the following blogs if you want to stay up to date with the latest news. Destination 17 - Newark (Special ESPN the Mag Deal)

Newark is the 17th destination on the jetBlue adventure and I am heading there now for a flight to South Florida. Tomorrow night the New York Jets play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football. It's an 8:30 Kickoff and I'll be in the stands to check out the action.

New York City

Today is a non travel day in New York City. The plan to visit Pittsburgh was derailed when my flight in Phoenix was delayed three hours causing me to miss the connecting flight to Pittsburgh. The adventure will continue from Florida tomorrow. In the meantime, I've begun to add a daily summary of the nationwide Groupon deals and plan to offer more deals, unique links, and other insights into the life of the Adventure. I am sure some of these will be very helpful in saving money, time, and adding usefulness to your day. Day in the Desert...

Light Rail

A city in the middle of the desert, Phoenix offers nice weather year round. Today was no different as it was 95 degrees and sunny. After arriving at Sky Harbor International Airport, I took the free shuttle to the light rail. A day pass cost $3.50! Talk about cheap. The light rail runs all the way from Tempe to Phoenix with frequent stops in between. I checked out Arizona State University in Tempe before heading to downtown Phoenix and having lunch at El Portal Mexican Grill. The southwest is known for its spanish/mexican influence and I had to have try the rice and beans. The chicken tacos plate was $3.75. Everything is quite inexpensive. While the downtown area is slow, it's pretty, clean, and the locals are more than friendly. In fact, Phoenix International Airport's slogan is "America's Friendliest Airport" and my experience makes me believe that's true.

The adventure heads to the desert and Phoenix, Arizona. It's a beautiful day to fly and I've boarded flight 177 and it's time to go. I'll have pictures and an update later today from the southwest. This flight will take me over 25,000 miles flown and I'm still going strong!

Sixth Avenue Inn Hotel Review

The Sixth Avenue Inn located in downtown Seattle joined up with the Adventure and provided us with a room for the evening while in town. The hotel's concierge staff was friendly and helpful with information regarding sites to see and places to be. The queen bed in the room was comfortable and the hotel provides free wireless internet. Additionally a flat panel tv offers cable channels and a microwave/refrigerator are in the room. Next time you visit Seattle, make sure to check out the Sixth Avenue Inn which has great rates and top quality service. Check the photos:

Seattle by Night

After the baseball game I walked around downtown and made my way to the Space Needle. The landmark is a staple in Seattle and rises over 500 feet in the air. I knew once I was coming to Seattle that I had to take a trip to the top so I laid out the $18 it cost and rode to the top. Here's some evidence!

The Boston Red Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-1 today at Safeco Field. I enjoyed a bbq pulled chicken sandwich with chips and a diet coke.

Both teams are playing out the remainder of their seasons and you could tell because the ballpark was half empty. When you come to Seattle, I highly recommend catching a Mariners game. It's cheap, enjoyable, and a beautiful park. Take a look at some pictures I took.

Sixth Avenue Inn

I have landed in Seattle! Check out some photos from JFK and in flight. The great folks at Sixth Avenue Inn in Seattle have provided me with a room for the evening in downtown Seattle and boy am I thankful. The hotel is located downtown, has free wireless internet in the rooms, and the workers are extremely friendly. I am off to Safeco Field to take in the Boston Red Sox -Seattle Mariners game and then walk around and visit the sites. I will have a full recap of the hotel and day in Seattle later tonight.

Headed to the Northwest - Seattle

New York City was a ton of fun. Eminem/Jay-Z rocked Yankee Stadium. Recap to come. It's time to take the adventure to the Northwest and Seattle. Seattle is the largest city in the Northwest and home to many large companies, namely Starbucks. The Mariners also play baseball there.

Pictures coming from this trip as the camera issue has been resolved. I'm excited to visit Safeco Field, the Space Needle, and downtown Seattle! Flight 175 is boarding and I need to board.

Ft. Lauderdale - La Gaurdia Flight Recap

I had a wonderful day in South Florida with my parents and had to be up early this morning for my 6AM flight to New York City. While most people slept, I had the great fortune of chatting with the three flight attendants: Kitty, Jacqueline, and Donovan. They were friendly, lively, and gave me an interesting tidbit regarding their outfits.
Did you know the flight attendants have articles to match the plane tailfin design? Males have ties, Females scarves.

While this group will return on the next flight to Florida, I am back in New York City for the day. This my home and it will be nice to see my room. Tonight I will be at Yankee Stadium for the much anticipated Jay-Z/Eminem concert.

I am sitting in Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport ready to depart for New York City. I will be attending the Jay-Z/Eminem concert this evening from historic Yankee Stadium.

The adventure started a week ago today! How many miles have I flown? How many destinations have I visited? Do I prefer Munchies mix or Chocolate Chip cookies on board? Keep checking back as I have a interesting statistics page coming later today.
