Halloween

This year Tatum was a Bumble Bee for halloween. We went trick or treating with our friends John, Lisa, Kendyl and Sophie in Yuma. It was our first year that we stayed in Yuma for Halloween since we moved there. Tatum had lots of fun walking up to doors and saying trick or treat. She walked until her little legs hurt and her bag was too heavy for her carry, which was about an hour and a half.

Tatum had so much fun at the new Treehouse preschool/daycare. She loved playing with all the other kids, singing and reading stories.

In the car ride on the way home, she sang me her ABC's for the fist time all the way through. She is a little sponge and remembers everything.

Cody & Chase's 4th Birthday

This year Cody and Chase celebrated their 4th birthday at Chuck E Cheeses. They all had so much fun riding rides, eating pizza and cake. Tatum loves going to Chuck E Cheeses except for Chuck E himself, she is still scared of people dressed up as characters.

Memorial weekend

It was a pretty HOT day today so this is how Tatum keept cool in Yuma. We set up this giant sprinkler ball and she had a blast.

She played out in the sun all day, with little breaks of coming in and resting and eating then she was right back out there. What a great day of water play!

Destruction Derby

This past weekend we traveled in the motor home up to Firebaugh, CA for the annual destruction derby. The derby is a crash up car race to see whose car outlasts them all. All the drivers get an old car and then drive it into a muddy arena and start crashing into each other, the last car still able to move is the winner.

Daniels brother, Stephen and my brother Jeremy were both driving cars for their employers. Daniel also got to drive the No Bruise Cruise ride. The kids all enjoyed racing their bocars and playing in the big jumpy. It was alot of fun and we hope we can go again next year.

It's time for river season!!!

We spent the weekend out at the river and on Sunday we took the boat up to a sandbar for the first time this season. It was a HOT 90 degrees, but the water was still a little chilly. That didn't stop us from playing in it though. We invited our friends John, Lisa, Kendyl and Sophie along.

A trip to the Camel Farm

This week Tatum visited the Camel Farm here in town with Lisa & Sophie. The Camel farm is a working farm specializing in the breeding of Arabian (one-humped) camels and other exotic and unusual animals and birds.

Besides a large herd of Arabian Camels, visitors can see a variety of animals and birds including, Arabian Wild Cats, an Ostrich, an Emu, Sicilian Miniature Donkeys, a Llama, Watusi Cattle, Fallow Deer, Four-Horned Sheep, Barbados Sheep, Go-bex, Patagonian Cavys, an African Spurred Tortoise, Golden Pheasants, Ring-necked Pheasants, Chinese Pheasant, Texas A&M (white) Pharoah Quail, Turkens (Transylvanian naked Necks), a Zeedonk, Bobwhite Quail, Silkie Chickens, English Bantams, Mandarin Ducks, Arabian Horses, Coati Mundis and many other animals.

I was really surprised she actually touched the animals. This is something she doesn't normally do, she is usually running from them and hiding.

Tatum had a great time seeing all the animals and talked about it for days.

West Wetlands Park

Today we visited this really neat park in Yuma called the West Wetlands Park. It is a park with a huge castle with slides, swings, climbers, rope swings and all kinds of other things. We met Lisa, Sophie and Kendyl there to play for a while.

Tatum was so excited when we pulled up to the park, she couldn't get out of her car seat fast enough. She had so much fun swinging on the tire swing and just running around checking it out.

We will definitely be going back to this park again, it was really fun!

Tatum has been trying to ride her tricycle and her 2 wheeled bicycle for the last couple months. She has been having trouble with the pedaling on the 2 wheeled one because it has a brake when you pedal backwards. She did however figure out the tricycle last week and has been riding around the house in it ever since. Today she rode with me to the mailbox and she around on the sidewalk for a while. She is so proud of herself now, her new saying is "Me do it myself!"

We will have to keep working on the 2 wheeled bicycle.

Tatum loves to watch American Idol with us. When Daniel got home from work yesterday she asked him if it was on yet. Last night when it came on, she brought her princess keyboard with her to the living room, set it down, hit the play button and started dancing around. She is singing and dancing and just having a great time. This morning the keyboard was the first thing she asked me about and has been performing her new dance all day. Tonite I decided to get the camera out and start filming. She had the cat sitting near her and was dancing all around him. We had so much fun watching her and she kept replaying the "Be our guest" song from Beauty and the Beast and told us it was her favorite song.

Easter gifts in the mail

Tatum is aways so excited to open up packages that come in the mail to her. On Sunday after we arrived home from San Diego, she opened up a package from Grandpa Richard (Daniel's dad) and Grandma Carol in Oregon. They send her packages for every holiday and there are always some really great goodies inside. Since they are not here, I like to take a video so that they can at least see all the excitement with her opening them. I was happy that she was still in her Easter dress so that you could see her all dressed up.

She was mostly excited about all the candy, but after that was taken away she was happy to get new Minnie Mouse pajamas. She had recently grew out of the last ones you sent her and wasn't too happy about it. She wore those to bed that night and wants to wear them every night just like the last ones. She absolutely loves her new baby Minnie. She rocks her and puts her to sleep in te cradle with the other babies. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma for the great gifts and thank you for the beef jerkey and pepperoni sticks. They are yummy!!!!

Easter weekend Fun

On Saterday morning we went to an easter egg hunt at Chase and Cody's school. Tatum had so much fun watching a puppet show, playing duck duck goose and then finding eggs.

After the school egg hunt, we all went up to Uncle Stephens and Aunt Monica's house in Ramona. We had another egg hunt in the backyard. There were over a hundred eggs to find! They all lasted for about 20 minutes, then they hopped on their quads and gathered the eggs.

The easter bunny left baskets filled with all kinds of fun stuff and CANDY! Tatum has a mouth full of chocolate in this picture.

Aunt Monica made this minnie mouse dress for Tatum and she had to put it on, even though it was a bit windy and chilly outside.

4 Years today!

You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill....Hmm it's funny how fast your big day comes and goes, but the memories live on forever On March 4, 2006, Daniel and I were joined by over 300 family and friends who celebrated our beautiful wedding with us. I can remember the beautiful sunset on the ocean, the twinkling white lights, red roses everywhere, smiling faces and how can I ever forget how COLD it was! That was 4 years ago today, Happy Anniversary to us!

Tatum's 2nd Disneyland Trip

On Sunday, Grandma Nancy, Tyler and Christina came up to Newport and we all went to Disneyland. This was Tatum's second time visiting the happiest place on earth, she really enjoyed it this time because she was more familiar with all the characters.

Newport Beach

This past week we spent some time in Newport Beach. Daniel had training again for the week so Tatum and I went up to stay with him. It was a gloomy week and week and there was rain, so we didn't spend any time at the actual beach. We stayed at the Newport Coast Villas on a golf course with ocean views, they were beautiful! It was a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms, Tatum loved having her own room.

Every night Tatum takes a shower and then lays down on the sofa with her daddy, watches a little tv and falls asleep. Once she is asleep we put her in her bed for the night. Sometimes it isn't that easy though and she fights going to sleep, last night was one of those nights. She didn't want to go to bed so Daniel left her on the sofa when he went to bed as I sat at the table working. I could hear her tossing and turning and after about an hour she finally fell asleep. This is how I found her, half on the sofa and half off completely sound to sleep. It is amazing how kids can sleep in the most unusual positions.

Miniature Golf

On Sunday we joined our friends John, Lisa, their little girl Sophie and Lisa's sister Kendal and spent the afternoon at the new Yuma Fun Factory, which is a little fun center for families with bumper boats, bumper cars, miniature golf, go carts, an arcade, restaurants and a bar. It was our first time there, we ate in the cantina, played miniature golf and played in the arcade. It is a really neat little place with a rustic look, there were big rocks, boulders, tunnels and waterfalls.

little chilly and none of us wanted to get wet.

Potty training

It has been about a month now that we have been working really hard at trying to get Tatum potty trained. We have gone through 2 potty chairs, puddles of pee and loads of pull ups and wet panties. It was the trip to Toys R Us to pick out Mickey Mouse Club babies, picking out her own popsicles and taking away the sippy cups that finally did it. I was getting really frustrated and was running low on patience for this child. I am tired of cleaning carpets and was just about to the point that I figured my daughter was never going to use the toilet, until last week when she finally got it. On Thursday, she went the whole day without any accidents, on Friday she wanted to use the big toilet and since then we are really doing good. We have had a few accidents and aren't completely trained but she is really working on it.

Stewie hates to get bathed, but Tatum does try and make the experience as good as possible. She gives him toys for the tub and talks to him. We get pretty wet and messy, but we have fun and have a clean Stewie when we are done.

Tatum loves getting her toe nails polished, but usually I do them. This is a picture of her toes when daddy found her in the bathroom after she had finished polishing her own toe nails. She actually did pretty good at just getting it on her toes, I didn't find one drop of it anywhere else. Now I just have to find a better hiding spot for the polishes.

A weekend at the River

This weekend we headed on over to Hidden Shores at the river. Grandpa Wayne, Becky, Uncle Jeremy, Jacob and Robert were all there too! On Saurday we all rode up to Fishers for lunch. We had a couple little mishaps, but nothing major, it just made our trip more interesting. Our Rhino didn't want to start up after our rest stop on the way there, it ended up being just a spark plug and on the way back grandpa Wayne and Becky broke the golf cart (no they didn't really it was just a loose bolt). They were having way too much fun, you could hear Becky laughing the whole time. It was her first trip out off roading and she had a blast. Thanks to the quick work of our mechanics, Jeremy and Daniel, we were off and running in no time.

We had so much fun and can't wait to see everyone again!

Kids say the funniest things

This afternoon Tatum asked Daniel to turn the rain off. It has been raining here on and off today an she wasn't liking the fact that she couldn't play outside. Daniel told her that he couldn't turn the rain off and she said why not. He told her that the rain fell from the sky and we just have to wait for it to stop. She looked at him with an puzzled look on her face and then said okay daddy. Then later on this evening while we were eating dinner grandma Dahlia called and Tatum babbled to her about the rain outside, asked her what she was doing and then told her we were eating chicken and dum dums for dinner. We actually were eating chicken and dumplings. These are just a few of the funny things she has been saying, I will have to post more later. as I hear or think of them.

Tatum is at the stage now where she loves to help. From unloading the dishwasher to helping daddy fix things, she is always right there waiting. Today she went outside with Daniel and helped him get the rhino ready for the desert next week. She got tools out of the toolbox and "fixed" all the weels and tires. When she was done with that she came inside the house to help me open a box that came in the mail. It was a big box and it was full of foam popcorn. That box kept her occupied for a while. Then she helped me clean up all the foam and put it in the trash.
