our life and honestly who doesnt want to
earn a few extra bucks using it.There are
a lots of Websites claiming they know
“real “ways of making money online
specially in India and Pakistan.this
BlogBuster ™ outing tries to show the
reality Lets face it!just like real world no
body gives you money on the internet
just for doing nothing!you really have to
make a genuine effort I see a lot of
websites with so called internet jobs and
provide you link for some “moneymaking”
and some shortcuts which will make you a
millionare overnight!and showing you
some ads claiming these people have
made money!!IN short avoid all of them
and do not ever pay for their services.
There are some ways e.g. surveys and
offers but these are not meant for our
region.plus the unavailablity of PAYPAL in
Pakistan makes it more difficult.so do not
search for silly shortcuts!! Now that
doesnt mean you cannot earn online at all
you can but if you have the guts to put in
the effort. You can set up a blog,a
website,or join an affiliate program or
become a freelancer all ofcourse are long
term stuff and not the get rich schemes
some out there offer! You can succeed
just combbine passion with the hard
work.BEST OF LUCK Share your

It has a brilliant page loading speed even on slower 2g networks.the interference is simple and a well-to-do Download Manager.

Though it lacks advanced features as HTML 5 and add-ons but I seriously think the stuff it provides is enough for mobile browsing.

Pay some bucks and earn a "accredited" degree and increase your chances for a job! Picture Perfect all sounds real nice but unfortunately it isn't.

These are the lines which scam websites out there use and prey you into actually "buying" a degree! These fake sites are reffered to as "Diploma Mills".Some other tactics used by them are :

A good-looking website

An Institution name which seems geniune and is similar to prestegious universities.

Claim that degree is legal and accredited by xyz accrediting agency, the truth being that the agency they claim has accredited their degrees is itself fake and does not exist!

Claim that your degree is "Experience Based" and some have even designed so-called experience evaluation tests to make sure they do not look fake.but the fact being that its all your money they are after!

You select what degree do want(a master or Ph.D for instance)isnt that funny??and a evidence enough.

After you pay you mostly do not get anything at all!and in case you do, your "degree" is just a piece of paper wasted badly as it is illegal and not authentic at all!

These diploma mils do not exist anywhere physicaly and are benifited by soft cyber crime laws (if any) in most of the countries.

The Song is a slow romantic number with a fresh feel to it.Bravo! The Cantabelle Version of this song by Abhishek Nailwal is an accapela song worh a listen Then comes "Khalbali" song that starts slowly but picks up a massy tune sung brilliantly by Tochi Raina, Arijit Singh, and Shilpa Rao. A special mention for some amazing lyrics too. The Punjabi version of this track though doesnt add much with the same beat and tune,it is sung well by Tochi Raina And Finally comes "Bulbuliya"which has Adnan Sami behind the mike.it's been a while adnan sang for bollywood(last in RUSH) but he does full justice to this dark-feel track infact his voice sounds quite fresh aided again by some above-par lyrics.Way to go!!

Rating : 4/5

Verdict: " Usually expectations from music of supernatural thriller B-Town movies is low but this one is a music album above par.Young Mithoon(featured previously in The Train and Murder 2)does an outstanding job.

Picks : Kaise Bataun,Khalbali, Bulbuliya

Sonakshi Sinha

Folks its time to get up close and personal with the sensational Sonakshi Sinha. So here ve go Q. When did you realise that you were a pretty girl? I didn’t realise it till I was about 21. Having always been on the heavier side, it never occurred to me that I was pretty. Whenever I looked in the mirror, all Isaw was a fat girl. But it never bogged me down. I was confident. My interests lay in fashion designing. Q. When did you first feel the need to lose weight? Before Dabangg happened. I was often told, ‘You have such a pretty face why don’t you lose weight?’ But I was happy the way I was. Later, for health reasons, I began working out and lost weight. Q: Your First Crush?? He was my classmate, my partner. He’d constantly tease me for being fat. But for some reason I liked him. I was shy and never let my feelings show. Once he came to know I liked him, he started teasing me all the more to get me off his back. Q. While fans love your generous form, detractors slam it... I have faced this all my life. People have hardly referred to me by my name. They have called me moti, fatty, bhens (buffalo)… But it doesn’t bother me. Five people out of a hundred calling me overweight doesn’t get me less work. My weight’s perfect for my age, height and body type. Q. Where, according to you, lies your sex- appeal? It lies in the fact that I’m so comfortable with myself. Also in my eyes I guess. (Laughs) They have been talked about, songs have been written on them… Tere mast mast do nain (Dabangg). Also, I have an expressive face which I use to my advantage. Q. You are accused of being politically correct. What’s wrong if I am? Yes, I am today’s girl. I do like being direct about things. But to some extent I am diplomatic because of the profession I am in. If I say anything out of turn, it will be sensationalised as headlines.

Q. Would you look for your father in your man? No! I want someone without a moustache. I don’t want a muchiwala. Q. What would you want him to possess? Your instinct will tell you whether the person is good for you or not. I’d like a person with a good sense of humour, someone taller than me and someone who can hold a conversation. Q. What is it that you can’t stand in a man? I don’t like men who show off their Rolex watches and fancy cars. I don’t like materialistic men. Q. What would be a deal breaker? Disrespecting me in any form.Making me feel lesser than him. Cheating on me would also be disrespecting me. Q. Would you go to the extent of keeping tabs on your partner? I don’t have the patience to keep tabs on a man. I’d confront him if I doubted his fidelity. And if he confessed to it, I’d say bye bye. Q. Do you cry easily? What’s funny is I don’t cry when I am sad. I cry when I am angry. Incompetence frustrates me. © Kapil Singh.

As a part of Celebrity Interviews series we now Proudly present an interview with the amazing Salman Khan.

He has several
films in his kitty that have joinedthe Rs.100-crore club and thanks to them, Salman Khan’s films are perceived as high-
yielding projects. But his feet are on the ground and he knows how to handle success, the star says.
Salman’s “Dabangg”, “Bodyguard”,
“Ready” “Ek Tha Tiger”, and “Dabangg 2″
grossed more than Rs.100 crore at the box office and now producers are making high-stake investments in the star, who
says: “I am so used to it (success) by now that I know exactly how I need to take
it.”
“I know this is all superficial… I know this
is my profession and my work and I get paid for it. But apart from that, it does
not go into my head. It’s like a nine-to- five job,”

Does losing success scare him?

“We know that is going to happen. It’s just that how hard you can work to keep it going. How long you can see the distance between the fans and the hero increasing is important,” said the 47-year-
old.
A brand in himself, Salman has
experienced failure, but in the last five
years, he has become one of the most bankable stars in tinsel town. His movies
are a hit even before they release.

“I don’t get nervous (before the release of films). I just pray that the hard work, which we put in, shows. Mentally, you are
the same, but you worry that you haven’t lost the plot or the character you have
played,” said Salman who has featured in
about 90 films in the last 25 years.

Starting out as a romantic hero with
“Maine Pyar Kiya”, he did many action films too. In fact, his last few releases were only action films.
He feels action works only if it is backed by emotions.
“Till the time action is not backed by emotion, it doesn’t work. In my films, there is action, but there is a lot of romance and emotion as well. In ‘Dabangg 2′, relationship between husband-wife and father-son are shown.
But as all the action scenes are put in the promo, it looks like an action film…but
actually it is not,” he said.

His movie schedules, TV assignment as host of “Bigg Boss 6″ and brand endorsements keep him busy.

What about personal time?

“I have lots of time. Why would anyone want to have time for themselves? You
are 24 hours with yourself,” he said.

Salman is known for his tiffs with star Shah Rukh Khan but was seen defending him on “Bigg Boss 6″ when Imam Siddique, one of the contestants, claimed
to have contributed to his success.

“If anyone has become something, it is because of his dedication. We have no
right to put somebody down. We don’t get along at all, but what is not right is not right. The fact that

SRK comes out of
his house and goes to work provides so
many people with work…so who are you
to take credit for that?” said Salman who doesn’t let his problems with Shah Rukh
bother him much.

With success at his feet, Salman’s desire is to work harder and make sure unsung
heroes in the industry get their due too.

“I want to work a little harder. I just hope that the other people are also as interested as I am…not in the heroes, but the people in our team,” he said.

success is hard work" AKSHAY KUMAR.

A BlogBuster ™ exclusive take on Khilaadi of Bollywood. the excrepts:
He’s known to go mushy over his
daughter Nitara (born on September 25)
whom he has named Nitara Khanna Bhatia in loving memory of his exalted father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna. He beams
at the mention of Nitara.

I want to know0 whom she resembles, Twinkle or him but
he shrugs that off saying she’s too young for such comparisons. A new baby usually alters the parents’ schedule, but Akshay’s
routine is unaffected. “I’ve always
worked only for eight hours a day.I sleep for eight hours and spend the rest of the
day at home. I spend a lot of time with
Nitara.”

Her birth has lifted the pall of grief over the Khanna-Bhatia family after the
demise of Rajesh Khanna. Akshay has fond memories of the icon whom he had
grown up idolising. He says Khanna’s
memories will never fade away. “He lives
in our hearts, our minds. You only
remember those you forget. He was
India’s first superstar. Throughout the
day, we see him somewhere or the other.
Turn on the TV, and you’ll see his songs or
his movies on some channel or the other.
We’ve put up a large portrait of him at
home.”
His father-in-law was like a friend to him.
And one trait that he hugely liked in the
star was that he treated life like a party
and didn’t need a reason to celebrate.

“Someone told me, ‘Bhaiya, I guess you
won’t be celebrating Diwali this year as
your father-in-law has passed away.’
I replied, ‘We will definitely celebrate
Diwali. My father-in-law’s entire life was
one big celebration. He celebrated the
smallest of things. He’d party for a
friend’s birthday; he’d party for any good
thing that may have happened during the
day. Something good would happen every
day, so he partied every day! So, yes we
did celebrate Diwali in his memory.”
Incidentally, after Rajesh Khanna’s
demise, his bungalow Aashirwad was renamed Vardaan Aashirwad. Akshay cuts off the conspiracy theories with a curt,
“Because my mother-in-law (Dimple
Kapadia) wished so,” and tells me to move on to the next question. Any
attempt to question him on the recent development when RajeshKhanna’s live-
in companion Anita Advani filed a legal suit is met with a stony glance from
Akshay. Time to change the topic then,

I’m curious to know as to why he’s
returned to the Khiladi tag after donkey’s
years. Last month, the eighth film in the
Khiladi series, Khiladi 786, directed by
Ashish R Mohan was released. The
curiouser fact is that Akshay made the film in partnership with nasal wonder
Himesh Reshammiya. He doesn’t see anything unusual in the relationship and
says it was based on mutual trust and
admiration. “The greatest ingredient in
every Khiladi movie is fun. It must
entertain and have great action and
music. Himesh came up with some zany
tunes which were well received. He even
suggested this title for the film, which
symbolises a man blessed by God and I
agreed.”
It may be recalled that the Khiladi
blitzkrieg began with Khiladi in 1992 and
was followed by Main Khiladi Tu Anari,
Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi,
Mr And Mrs Khiladi, International Khiladi
and Khiladi 420. Akshay had never
fathomed that one day the Khiladi
franchise would be his. “When you’re at
the beginning of your career, how can you
predict the future course? Even your
father can’t foretell it! What’s more, even
a pandit (astrologer) can’t foresee what’s going to happen in his life two years
down the line,” smiles Akshay.
It’s suprising that Akshay’s still glued to
the action genre and doesn’t get tired of pulling punches after all this while. He
reminds me that he did take a breather
for some years after son Aarav was born.
“I did the maximum number of action
movies by 2000. In 2001, I got married
(to Twinkle Khanna) and in 2002 my son
Aarav was born. I took a sabbatical from
action and focussed on comedy, emotions
and drama and stopped performing risk-
involving stunts.” He’s returned to action with Rowdy Rathore this year. It’s been a
comeback year of sorts for the stars in
more ways than one. He’s given back-to-
back hits like Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore
and Oh My God! and cemented a place in the 100 crore walk of fame. Akshay says
he remains unperturbed by the
expectation of turning every film into a
100 crore blockbuster. “I just do my job.
I am under no such pressure or tension. I
had come here with just five thousand in
my pocket,” he waxes philosophical. “But
yes, I am under pressure to reach the sets on time, to finish my work on time. I make sure that my producer isn’t under
any duress. I am a producer’s actor, a
director’s actor. Where success or failure is concerned, it all depends on the
audience.”

Another remarkable thing is that Akshay has steered clear of camps and
controversies. “I don’t live in a camp. I
live in a home,” he jests adding,

“The
most important factor for success is hard work. Also, seek your parents’ blessings,
God’s blessings and move ahead.

There is
nothing bigger than that in the world.”

When quizzed whether relationships in
the industry are really as fake as shown in
films like Luck By Chance and Page 3 and
more recently Heroine, Akshay turns
defensive about the film fraternity,
“Some relationships are sincere just as
there are fake ones too, though the latter
abound. Forget showbiz; take builders,
doctors or people in any other profession,
there are genuine and pretentious
relationships everywhere. It’s wrong to
point fingers only at the industry.”

The talk veers back to parenthood and Akshay tells me about the bond he shared his dad, Hari Om Bhatia. “I
enjoyed watching films with my dad. I’ve
grown up watching commercial cinema -
Dharmatma, Sholay, Naseeb, Amar Akbar
Anthony...” This explains his penchant for
masala fare. He says he makes it a point
to watch every commercial release.
“Whether it’s a Yash Chopra or a Kanti
Shah film, I make it a point to watch it in
theatres. The audiences’ live reactions tell
you what they enjoy and what they don’t.
I have a show booked on Friday or
Saturday evening.” He cattily says he doesn’t like attending premieres. One
reason is that he doesn’t like late nights.
The other he says is because, “People just sit there, all dressed up, without giving
genuine reactions. No one laughs or cry at
such affairs. This is unfair to the film.”

The next shot is ready and Akshay iscalled to do what he does best— bash up
the baddies. I watch the action for a while before taking my leave. Because, as
he says, I’d rather watch him dishing it
out to the goons in upcoming films
Special Chhabbees, Once UponTime In Mumbaai Again and Boss in the comfort of the theatres with a special pack of gur
and chana for company. That’s certainly comfort food for thought.

Where else can you assume a fake identity, pose the most inane question imaginable--like "Why can't I see my reflection in the mirror on a television? "--and then sit back and watch the answers pour in? Crowd-source advice sites like Yahoo Answers have become a bit of a magnet for the maladjusted. Sure, there are plenty of average Joes just looking for ordinary information. But among the sites' many mundane queries, there's a sea of jaw-droppingly dumb discussions guaranteed to amaze and entertain. I spent some time surfing through Yahoo Answers to find the worst of the worst, and boy did I find it. The spelling, grammar, and punctuation are all as found in the original queries--because why put lipstick on a dodo? So let's take a look at the vital questions of our time, as posed by some of the deepest thinkers out there, along with the best answers I could come up with... 1. Backward Thinking "I sold my only car to help pay for gas money, but now gas has come down in price. How do I get my car back?" I tried to contact this guy, but it turns out that he also sold his computer to help pay for his Internet connection. 2. It's Caps Lock--Capisce? "HOW DO I TURN OFF CAPSLOCK? I ACCIDENTALLY TURNED IT ON YESTERDAY AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO TURN IT BACK OFF." Note to self: Register howtoturnoffcapslock.com; make millions! 3. Credit Crunch "I wanted to see if my computer would read my credit card so i put it in the cd rom and it got stuck, how do i get it out?? I tryed toothpics but lost them in the process?? also the drive is making noises" Oh, that's normal. Your system is just waiting for you to pay the required $1 processing fee for scanning the card. Simply fold a greenback into a tiny square and insert it into any USB port. 4. Mousin' Around "My mouse stop working every time i lift it up from the table why is this? this is not just OS .i have linux and vista both same thing so its not drivers" Yeah, no big deal there, either: Insert your credit card into the CD-ROM drive and tell your computer--slowly and distinctly--that you need the Air Mouse 3000 upgrade. You'll be good in no time. 5. Technical Difficulties "I've been asked to write an application in my own handwriting....? is there a computer programme that will do this for me? they also want original ideas. do you know any?" This reminds me of a letter to the editor I once read years ago: "Are there any undiscovered islands left in the world?" The response: "Not that we know of."

6. It's All in the Details "I have an assignment about computer.. What is unimportant details about computer?" Wait a minute--does this assignment also require original ideas? 7. Unknown Nuptials "Am i married in any state? have i been divorced?" I'll take "questions asked after a night in Vegas" for $500, Alex. 8. A Sticky Subject "Where can i buy a really big jar of peanut butter?" If this is from the same guy who asked the previous question, I'm getting concerned. 9. Fruit Frets "I have ate two whole tangerines in about two hours what will happen to me?" That all depends on whether you swallowed any seeds. If you did, be very careful not to eat any dirt or drink any water for the next two weeks. 10. Fat Chance "How do i become obese fast? I want to look good by the end of the year." You can start by eating two tangerines in two hours. Then run around in circles until you figure out what "obese" means. © Kapil Singh. BlogBuster™ and PC World.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thekapilsinghblog.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-dumbest-questions-on-y-answers.html' title='The Dumbest Questions on Y! Parineeti Chopra

You liked her and adored her.check out a close chat with the hottest debutant around.Lets Hear It then.

Q. What attracts you to a man?

I have three requirements. The first thing
that attracts me is a sense of humour. I like to believe that I have a great sense
of humour. So, if he makes me laugh, I
automatically notice him. Secondly, he
needs to let me be myself. I hate it whenbpeople tell me what to do. When people
tell me what to say, how to sit or what to
wear I just want to slap them. If he tries to change me he is out. Thirdly, he has to
smell good. If he isn’t wearing good
perfume he can just leave.

Q. If your partner isn’t too fit is that a problem?

Not at all. Look at me do I look fit to you?
In fact, if he’s little fat it would feel so much better to hug him.

Q. Do you like a midnight snack?

Yes I love it. I eat full meals in the
middle of the night. Specially pizzas. I hate to cook. I can’t cook to save my life.
I love the fast food system. I just want
food to be delivered so all I have to do is eat it.

Q. Now that you are an actress do you have a diet or a fitness regime?

Are you crazy? I hate fitness regimes. But if someone asks me to lose weight for a
role then I’d do it happily. During
Ishaqzaade I had to be fit because of my role but even then I used to cheat all the
time. I love sweets. That’s one thing I can’t stop.

Q. How do you deal with crazy fans?
I’ve never had a crazy fan incident yet. On Twitter people write to me saying that
they love me. I try to reply to them.
Sometimes people also spam you on
social networks. One must just ignore them.

Q. Your idea of a perfect date?

I don’t like clichéd romances. I don’t like
the gifts and flowers nonsense. I hate when boys offer to take me out for
dinner. I’ll slap them. I like it simple. You
come to my house or I’ll come to your
house and we will sit, watch TV and order pizza.

Q. What is the cheesiest pick-up line used
on you?
I’ve been on the receiving end of the
worst pick-up line ever. So this guy
approaches me and says, ‘Did it hurt?’ I’m
like, ‘What?’ and then he says, ‘When you
dropped from the sky.’ I wanted to break his face.

Q. What is your take on adoption?
I’d love to adopt a child. I want to have lots of children. I might not be able to conceive all of them. So I’ll adopt.

Q. How spontaneous are you as a person?

Personally, I’m crazy and I can say and do anything. Professionally, I don’t have the
knowhow of things. There I go by my gut.
I’m just blessed that I’m surrounded by
people who help me take these decisions.

Q. What do you think of live-in
relationships?
I’m totally cool with live-in relationships.
If you are in a relationship it is normal to
meet your partner when the day ends. If
you’re tired you’ll end up sleeping in his
house and return to yours in the
morning. Even if you do that three or four
times a week that for me is a live-in
relationship. I don’t have to take my suitcase and change my address to call it
that. The dynamics of live-in relations are
confusing. You’re either sleeping with the
person or you’re not.
Q. What do you think of infidelity?

It’s unacceptable. I’m not saying this because it’s politically correct, but
because I’ve never had a fling or a one- night stand. I’ve been in a couple of
serious relationships. I’d never be able to
forgive someone who was unfaithful to me.

Q. What has been your biggest splurge?
I’ve just done the interiors of my house
that turned out to be quite expensive.
And I just booked a first class ticket for
my international travel four hours before the flight. I’ve never spent so much in
one go ever.
Q. One habit you want to get rid of?

I bite the skin on my fingers and I want to
stop that. It’s an ugly habit.

Q. What are your fetishes?

I have a fetish for hand towels. (Laughs) I
have 300 million of them. Every time I go
to buy stuff I buy towels for sure. I have a cupboard full of towels.
Q. Your favourite Punjabi dish?

Has to be rajma, baingan ka bharta and
boneless kadhai chicken.

Q. Is flirting healthy?

Yes it is. And so much fun too. When
you’re flirting you’re feeling nice and beautiful. That’s why you’re doing it. May
be the person’s remarks make you feel confident at that time.
Q. Any regrets in life?

I wish I’d studied films and decided
earlier to be an actress. I’m 24 butI
believe I could have started a little
earlier.

Q. One thing that your parents nag you
about…
Oh God! I can name 1200. But the major one is that I don’t call them or stay in
touch for days. Sometimes, I don’t return calls for a couple of days. Also, though I’m
not a big spender, I’m loose with money.

Q. What would you prefer to keep handy
in your bag - pepper spray or brass
knuckles?

Neither. I’m enough.

Q. Best gift you’ve ever received…
A couple of years ago I was talking to a
friend and told him how I love the TV
series Friends. He actually went ahead
and got me the whole collection of 10
seasons. It cost 10, 000 which still is a lot
of money. He also bought me the entire Friends’ books. Now I have a whole Friends corner in my house thanks to
him.

Q. One fashion faux pas that you
distinctly remember…
It was irresponsible on my part but once I wore an outfit where my undergarments
were showing. All the fashion websites
and channels went to town about it.
Q. One thing that brings a smile on your
face…

Music. Any genre, any time. Music is my
weakness.

Q. Who’s your 4 am friend?

Maneesh Sharma is a 4 am friend. Uday Chopra is also someone I can call that
late. But I’m closer to Maneesh than I am
to Uday. Actually, I can even call up my
mother. She’s an insomniac.

Q. Your take on augmentation?
If you think you need augmentation and
doing it makes you happy then why not. I’m scared of hospitals so I don’t think I’ll
ever choose that option. I could have
easily gone and removed all my fat. If
someone wants their nose to look bigger,
then why not! It’s a privilege service why
not use it.

about his personal fashion and
favourites.

One must-have item in your
wardrobe...
V-neck t-shirts. White and black in
particular. I like solid colours.

Q. One unbreakable fashion rule...
My t-shirts should fit my shoulders well,
otherwise they look bad. I never wear
loose, ill-fitted ones.

Q. One brand you swear by...

Zara. Their fits are perfect.
Q. The most stylish movie of all time...
(Winks) Student Of The Year (SOTY).

Q. Your ultimate style icon...
I’ve grown up watching Mr Bachchan.

(Smiles) I’ve got long arms like him. I
loved the jackets and trench coats he sported in Yash Chopra’s films. I watch a
lot of British and American TV shows. Happy Days was one of my favourites. I admired the style of a character named
Fonzie (Henry Winkler) on the show. He’d
wear the most amazing leather jackets and jeans. At some point, even my haircut
was like his.

Q. Name two of your favourite
designers...
Tarun Tahiliani. Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna make amazing jackets.

Q. Your biggest fashion faux pas
moment...
During a fashion show, I wore the wrong garment on the ramp. Everyone wore the
first set and I wore the third. (Laughs)
The designer’s assistant gave me the
wrong change. So I was the odd one out.

Q. Jeans or shorts?
Blue, straight-fit, low-waist jeans. I don’t like boot-cuts.

What’s next after Ghanchakkar
and Ek Thi Dayan?
Rensil D’Silva’s Unglee will release in August next year.

Q. Shruti: Which has been your most
challenging role till date?

My role in Shanghai. I had to put on a lot
of weight for it. Also, the character was not close to my real-life personality.

Q. Radhiah: Which are your favourite films
of 2012?

Shanghai and Jannat 2.

Q. Titas: What’s your dream role?

Nothing in particular. I make everything into a dream role.

Q. John: Who do you find more attractive
– Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif or Kareena
Kapoor?

I find Katrina Kaif attractive.

Q. Henna: Will your son Ayaan also
become an actor?

By the looks of it, yes. He’s fascinated with films. He loves dancing to my songs.

Q. Ankit: Who’s your female lead in
Unglee?
I guess it’s Kangna Ranaut. Sanjay Dutt,
Randeep Hooda and Neha Dhupia are part
of the cast too.

Q. Sourodeep: Who’s your favourite co-
star?
That’s a dicey question. So, I’ll be
diplomatic and say all of them.

Q. Imran: What’s more important to you;
box-office success or critical acclaim?

Box-office success. The audience
endorses the film and the audience is the
king.

Q. Preety: Who are your favourite actors?

Michael J Fox, Jack Nicholson and Dilip
Kumar.

Q. Radhiah: Do you rely on the Bhatts
(Mahesh and Mukesh) to stay afloat in the
industry?

I don’t rely on the Bhatts. We share a
good synergy. Your team needs to be
good to be successful.

Q. Henna: What does Unglee mean?
Erm… The finger. The middle one to be
precise.

Q. Srinath: Why don’t you do a film with
Ram Gopal Varma?

Will work with him when he has the right
script.

Q. Srinath: Do you plan to get into
production?

When I have a good story to tell, I’ll
produce a film.

Q. Raghib: Why are you not active on
Twitter?

I was on Twitter for five days and I didn’t find it exciting.

Q. Faruk: If you and Salman Khan work
together, the film will be a huge
blockbuster for sure. Comments…

Yeah definitely. The business will double.

Q. Kholoud: Do you give importance to
your looks in films?

Yes. Looking good is important. It is half
the battle won.

Q. Titas: Are you open to doing regional
movies?

Not at the moment. I am concentrating
on Hindi films only.

Q. Shanaya: Are you going to be paired
opposite Deepika Padukone in one of
Karan Johar’s productions?

I think so. I guess it will be a Karan Johar
and Ekta Kapoor co-production.

Q. Rizwan: Do you like cricket?

I like watching cricket. I used to play it in
school.

Q. Sahar: Which is your favourite song
from your movies?
I like Woh lamhe from Zeher and Zara si
from Jannat.

Q. Radhiah: Tell us something about
Ghanchakkar.

I can’t give away much. It’s about the life
of a middle class couple post a bank heist, which I am a part of.

Q. Pba: Did you always know you’d be at
the top? You had a bad phase with The
Train, Killer and other such films…

I guess so. You’ve got to have a certain
conviction about yourself. Only then will you succeed.
Q. Rizwan: Are you planning to do any
South remakes?

In fact, I have rejected four South
remakes because everyone is doing it.

Q. Smita: Pritam or Himesh Reshammiya?

It’s an unfair question. They both are friends and I like them equally.

Q. Preety: Do you believe in aliens?
I’ll tell you a secret... There are a few extra terrestrial species in the industry
itself.

Q. SameerKSingh: What will you do
before doomsday?
I am very sure the world will end. So I’d
take a long holiday. I’ll drink all night and welcome the D Day.

Q. Rehaan: Some tips to impress my
crush…

Just be yourself and learn how to kiss
well.
Q. Ali: Have you ever been beaten up?
I get beaten up by most of my actresses
on screen.
Q. Faizan: Will you be doing action films?
Not as yet. All the action scripts I have
heard recently have been low on content and story.
Q. Sahil: Do you like getting mobbed?
I love it. I live for it!

Q. Anirudh: Who is your favourite
superhero?
Batman. Because he’s dark and not a
tutti frutti superhero. And he’s got hot chicks, fast cars and money.

Q. Sahar: Who was your first crush?

A girl called Sanam. I was four and
wanted to marry her.

Q. Sachin: Why don’t you dance in films?
Because I am a bad dancer.
Q. Jitin: Have you ever been hit on by men?

Yes. I feel flattered actually.

Q. Preety: How will you describe Madhuri
Dixit?
I have been a huge fan of hers since I was
in school and found her to be one of the
best performers.

Q. Sahar: What do you think of Vidya
Balan?
She’s a fantastic actress and a professional
star.

Stay for more fun

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone is been all success as his recent venture Race 2 did well on the box office. Here though the sexy and seductive actress goes personal

BlogBuster™ is all ears.

Q. Rumours about Ranveer Singh and you refuse to die down…

I’m single. I’m not in the frame of mind to be in a relationship. I get too involved
when I’m in a relationship. I don’t know whether it’s a problem or a good thing.
But I don’t know how to be with
someone and not be attached. I’m in a phase in my career where I feel I may
not be able to do justice to both - my
relationship and my career. My career is
going well. I don’t want anything to take away from that. I’ve met too many
interesting people in the last six months. But I haven’t given it a chance. And I feel
sad about it because every girl feels complete in a relationship. You want love, you want that one person you can depend
upon, who you can talk to complain to, who you can nag. At least I’m that kind of
person. If I get into that space again, it’ll
take away from my work. I’m so driven about my career that I may not be able
to give the person my complete
attention. So it would be unfair to both.

Q. But everyone is talking about the fact
that you’re seeing him…

If that’s what everyone is talking about
then so be it. That’s not going to change my equation with him. He’s a wonderful
person. He has the ability to walk into a room and make you feel like you’re the
most important person in the world. And
it’s not just with people he knows. He could be meeting someone for the first
time and make him feel like they’re best
friends. That’s God given. That’s why he
gets so much love. We’re in a similar
space in terms of our age, where we’re
coming from in our lives. There’s a lot of
similarity between us, he doesn’t come
from a film background. He’s also
relatively new to the industry. We have a
great time together. He makes me laugh
a lot. He makes me feel special. That’s it.
If I’m in a relationship, I’ll talk about it.

Q. People say he broke up with Anushka
Sharma because of you…

I’ve always believed, given my
experience and I could be wrong, that no third person can ever come in between
two people. There must be something
wrong between the two that has caused them to not be together. I’m not talking
about them. I’m talking about
relationships in general. I’m talking from
my own experience. You can’t blame a
third person. Because if everything is okay with your relationship and if the two
people really really want to be together
then no one can come in between them.
I think they were a beautiful couple. I
don’t know what they shared; I don’t
know what they share today. I’m
someone who believes in love. It makes me happy when I see two people in love.
Why they broke up, I don’t know. But I
would be happy if they got back.

Q. There’s also been talk about animosity
between you and Anushka? She’s
supposed to have made some comments
against you. You were friendly at onepoint.

Honestly, there’s no change in the way I feel for her. If there’s been a change in
the way she feels for me then I don’t
know. She’s someone I’m fond of and will
always wish her well. I don’t know
whether she said something about me or
whether she’s been misquoted. If the equation between us has changed then I
don’t know why or when this has
happened. I’ve always had a friendly
equation with Anushka. I’ve known her
since my modelling days. I’ve always
been fond of her and still am.

Q. You say you’re single. Are you ready to
mingle?
I don’t know how to mingle. It’s black
and white for me. It’s all organic. I may
think a lot of things today. But the heart does its own thing.

So folks thats all for now stay connected.

SRK

He is the undisputed King, The self-made Baadshah of Bollywood narates his journey

Shah Rukh Khan, the commoner who became king, looks back at his 20- year-old career with humour and affection. BlogBuster™ unravels the rags-to-riches story

Q. Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a huge success,
potential blockbusters are in your kitty,
you have won the IPL, conquered the ad
world… what next?

A lot of people ask me this question –
what else is there for me to achieve? So,
if I say 22 crores, 11 Filmfare Awards and
one National Award, does that mean after
I achieve them, it’s the end for me? If it
ends, it means it’s tangible. I’ve seen it
all – money, fame and name; as a matter
of fact I can retire now. But does it make
sense? There are fools who ask Sachin
Tendulkar when he will retire. No one
thought it was possible to score 100
centuries; but he got them. And maybe
he’ll make 500 more. Why are we limiting
him after he’s made 100 centuries? I was
a lower middle class boy from Delhi when
I moved to Mumbai. I had ` 1500 in my
pocket and wanted to become big enough
to earn a lakh. After I began working, I
realised there’s no end line. I believe that
money has nothing to do with your
personal success. On the face of it, I’m the biggest capitalist of all. I have all the
riches. I’m the living proof of what
stardom should be in material terms. But
I’ve never sold my soul.

Q. What do you mean when you say you’ve never sold your soul?
I’ve not done anything which I didn’t want to do. I’ve not done films for
money. I’m not saying this with arrogance
but I’ve never asked for a film. Atimes I have called up a person if I liked his film but I’ve never asked for a film.

Q. Is it wrong to ask for a film?
It’s not about being right or wrong. When I meet young actresses I learn a lot from
them. It’s amazing how they manage
their careers. I’ve always been close to
all my heroines but I’ve never had career
discussions with them. Madhuri (Dixit),
Juhi (Chawla), Kajol and I were all
retarded in our own ways. I don’t know
whether it’s for the better or worse. But
I appreciate today’s girls. The world has
changed and they have adapted to it. We
always have this discussion whether it’s
okay to ask for a job. I haven’t done it.
But it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It just means that I didn’t like doing it and
hence I haven’t sold my soul. On the
other hand, I do every ad that I’m
offered. I do it for money. But there have
been days when I have told my manager
that I don’t want to work with a certain person even if he/she is paying me loads
of money. I never work with people who
don’t make me happy. I don’t watch others’ films if they don’t make me
happy. I don’t watch my own films if they
don’t make me happy. That may sound silly and arrogant but I’m like that. So, if I
don’t like you, I won’t do your film.

Q. Is this attitude just limited to your profession?

No. You could be my son but I won’t do the film. I’ll not ask my son for anything.
If he feels like, he can give me. I should
get it without asking. Similarly, with films. I don’t think like ‘this is the need of the
hour’. Is it bread and butter for me?
Films were never bread and butter for
me. I’m categorically honest about it. My
bread and butter is dancing at weddings. I
ask for my bread and butter. I
remember, I was dancing at a wedding
and I told the host to ask me to dance
when the couple has their first baby. This
is my job. I’ll ask for it. I’ll ask for ads. I
don’t look down upon anyone who asks
for a job. It takes guts to ask. But movies
are not a job for me. People who consider
films as a job should ask for it. There’s a
difference between job and work. You ask
for jobs while work you just do. I work towards making my children happy. I
work towards making my daughter a writer. I do it from my heart. It’s not a
job to look after my children. It’s
something spiritual for me. My mother taught me to be the giver. One day I
might fall from grace and ask for a job but till then I’ll continue doing only what I
like. I want to die making films. Roll,
camera, action and gone. I’ll be happy if that happens. My family will also be
happy if that happens. My kids will be the happiest.

Q. Judging by whatever you are saying, money isn’t your thing. Right?
I hate talking money. I detest it. I have
built an empire but I can’t talk money.
I’m told by my people that it would have
been 10 times bigger an empire had I asked for money. But I know, if I had
asked, instead it would have been 10
times smaller. It may sound arrogant but
kings don’t ask. Even if it’s the media who calls me the king, I believe it and
that’s why I don’t ask. Even a poverty
stricken king will never ask. If people ask him for something he’ll give his flesh and
blood. I’m from a poor family. I’ve seen
the worst. My father was dying and we
couldn’t afford the expensive injections.

My aunt used to send them from London.
But if the course was of 20 injections, we
managed only eight. So I’ll never know whether he died because we didn’t have
the money or he died because he had to.
I come from a place where there was less to eat. I’ve had watery dal and survived. I
was sent letters from the school
threatening to throw me out because my
fees were not paid. Mom and dad would
collect change lying below the mattresses
and pay for my education. Because I have
seen so much poverty, I don’t yearn for
money. I can spend all of it in one go. My
wife scolds me for this. I spend crores at
the drop of a hat – for films, for charity.
You ask for money and I’ll give it to you.

Q. On the contrary, having seen poverty,
doesn’t it make you value money more?

That’s what my wife keeps telling me. But
the fact that I didn’t have money before
will ensure it won’t make a difference if I
don’t have money now. The only fear is
that my children should never be without
a house. If you have a house and
education, the world is at your feet. If you
don’t have a job and money, at least you’ll have a roof to sleep and cry under.
I’ve slept on the roads. There have been
times I’ve been thrown out of my house because we couldn’t pay the rent. I have
been on the roads twice. I tell all the young heroines to please buy a house. I
feel happy when they come and tell me
that they have actually bought a house.
People will always remember me for
Mannat. It belittles my other
achievements but it’s okay. Beyond your
house, whatever you get is value
addition. As they say you’re not going to
eat money and the food won’t taste
better if you eat from a silver plate. I eat
the same food, I wear the same clothes.
I have four pairs of jeans. How much ever
people may think differently of me, I’m
exactly the way I was 20 years ago.

Q. How do you manage such a big empire with indifference towards money?

My accountant runs my house. I hate him
though. He dies to sit with me. He tries
all possible tricks to get five minutes with
me. If he wasn’t there, I’d know nothing.
I don’t even want to know. Years ago,
after Deewana became a hit, I was in Mehboob studio when a filmmaker
offered me five lakhs. I had never seen so much money in my life. I took the bag
and ran to my wife. I remember telling
her with so much money I didn’t need to
do anything anymore. My wife looks the
rich and snooty type but she’s a simple
middle-class girl. She’s not materialistic.
She looked at the money and didn’t react
much. Suddenly I realised that I had
forgotten to ask about the film’s story. I
had just been blinded by the money. I
felt bad. I went back and returned the
money. That day I decided that I’d never
take a signing amount. After a few years I
stopped charging for films altogether. I
had a strong reason for that too. A big producer offered me an unheard of sum
of three crores as a signing amount. In
today’s age it would be equivalent to 30
crores. I forgot the promise that I
wouldn’t work without hearing the story
and got carried away by the money. Once
Feroz Khan saab got angry with me
because I asked him the story. Even
Yashji (Chopra) was angry with me once for the same reason.
Q. Do you think not asking for money and
roles will backfire?

I’m at peace by not doing certain things. Because I’m not preparing my children to
be in films. I’m not waiting for my cycle to get over so that I can tell my son to
say ‘hi’ to ‘X uncle’ because he’s going to
launch him. It’s not dynastic. I may be
the first and the last actor in my family.
My children don’t revere my films. They say so if they don’t like my film.
Whatever I have is hard-earned. I’m
proud and happy. It’s 17 years since
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I’m happy I did the film my way. But right now I don’t know what’s next.

Q. Does uncertainty scare you?
I believe uncertainty is the most beautiful place to be in. If I made a film and I
knew for a fact that it will be a hit, it would be disturbing. I tell my children
two things - get up in the morning and
say ‘I don’t know’ and enjoy the ability to
go wrong. The problem with success is that you lose the capacity to fail and the
capacity to surprise people. So, if I’m able
to surprise myself every day, I can
surprise you as well. If I enjoy someone’s
work and they offer me their project, I do
it. My managers come to me with the
idea of remaking super hit South Indian films. They ask me to watch it but I never
do. Because I know they’re going to be hits. So what’s the point of the supposed
creativity? If Mona Lisa could be made by
anyone, then it wouldn’t have been the
most beautiful painting in the world. The
knowledge that you can fail can make you
come first.

Q. Right now, you’re working with Rohit Shetty on Chennai Express, which looks
like a sure-shot blockbuster…

It’s clear that if Chennai Express flops, it will be Shah Rukh Khan’s flop and not
Rohit Shetty’s. He can turn around and say that I make hit films with everyone
but SRK failed me. But I’m happy working
on this film and I can sense Rohit is also happy doing it with me. He knows that
I’ll bring a newness to the film. Also, I’ve
wanted to do an over-the-top comedy for a long time. I’m sure Deepika Padukone
will be excellent in the film. Few know
that Rohit takes his entire team to the
shoot. His team comprises his fight
master’s mom, make-up man’s son, etc.
In a Karan Johar film, you’ll have kids of
big stars and famous people working,
whereas in Rohit’s films there are kids of
fight masters and choreographers. It’s a fantastic team.

Q. You only work with established
directors or your friends. How do new filmmakers get access to you?

I worked my ass off and only then did I get a chance to work with Yash Chopra
and other big banners. So, the new
directors should also do the same and prove themselves. It’s not about them
making a hit film. It’s about the kind of film they make. Also, I can come on the
set and intimidate you. You can mess up the film because you have me in it. You
can also mess it up because it was
supposed to be a 15 crore film and now because Shah Rukh Khan is in it, it’s a 200
crore film. A lot of filmmakers are like
that. You give them big budgets and they screw it. I came to Mumbai with the
dream of working with Kundan Shah and I
did it. I worked hard for six years and
then got a call from Subhash Ghai. He spent 30 crores on me. I will call the
shots because I have earned that with 20 years of experience. Directors have
access to me. It’s just that I couldn’t
work with them for some reason. I was offered 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai but I
couldn’t do them. Anurag Kashyap had narrated No Smoking to me as well but I
had to say no because of date problems.
Why wouldn’t I do 3 Idiots after seeing
Munna Bhai? And I don’t feel good or bad about not doing it. It was not mine.

Q. Apparently, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra
offered you Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Rakeysh had offered me Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB). I wish I could have done it.
I like Milkha Singh (well-known athlete).
He’s my God. I know everything about
him. But again, it would not have been good for the film. I believe the same for
Lagaan. It’s good that I didn’t do it
because I’d have reduced its impact. I’m
glad Farhan Akhtar is doing BMB. It takes
complete dedication and time. I did Chak
De! India because it was over in 32 days.
I would not have been able to give BMB the love Farhan is giving it. It would be
less of a film with me. I get impatient
easily. I saw a picture of Farhan in the
entire get up and told him how awesome he looked. You need that kind of
dedication to do a biopic. He looks like
Milkha Singh physically. It’s outstanding.

Q. Of all your performances, which do you like the most?

As an actor, I like Don and My Name Is Khan the most. And then Chak De! India.
I actually like some of my silly films
better than Chak De! India. In Chak De!
India the role helped me and the
character. I just had to grow the beard.
In Don, the role didn’t help the
character. The film was dry but I had to
be sexual, kill people and yet have people cheer for me. A difficult task. My Name Is
Khan was somewhere between being
commercial and art cinema. Barfi! belongs
to a real world. MNIK is an unreal world.
And to play an autistic character in
between all the trappings of song and
romance wasn’t easy. You also have to
see MNIK from the perspective of Karan
Johar, Kajol and me. We have done films
like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi
Kabhie Gham together. So, it becomes
difficult to be in a world which is untrue to even Karan himself. Karan belongs to
the world of Student Of The Year. He doesn’t belong to My Name Is Khan.

Siddharth" - Vidya Balan

For the first time ever Vidya talks
about marriage, husband Siddharth and the personal dynamics of a much
in love power couple. Unearthing
memories from a marriage album

Q. Why were you so tight-lipped about your wedding plans?
We are both private people and a
wedding is a very personal moment. So
we chose to keep it simple. There was never an intention to hide it but we
didn’t want it to become a spectacle either. (Laughs) I want to share my joy
with the world but it wasn’t humanly possible to invite everyone. But we hope
we have everyone’s blessings.

Q. Has marriage changed anything?

(Laughs) It’s just been a couple of weeks, so I don’t think anything has changed.
But I love being a newlywed.
Q. No, seriously...
(Thinks) I’m no longer staying with my parents. That’s a major change. I’m going
to miss waking up every morning and seeing my parents, my sister, brother-in-
law and my twin niece and nephew. But
my family stays close by; I can go and see
them whenever I want. (Laughs) Every morning my niece and nephew would
come running to me. But now I have someone else running into my arms.

Q. What about Siddharth attracted you to
him?
The kind of person he is. (Winks) I won’tvtalk about the other things that attracted
me to him. When things are meant to happen, they just do. That’s the most
beautiful truth of life. We keep looking for things in life, whether it’s love or success,
but when you’re least expecting it, your dreams walk in and embrace you. That’s
the most beautiful feeling and you know
you’re home.

Q. And when was that?

(Smiles) I have to thank Filmfare for that. You’ll be amazed to hear this but it
happened at the Filmfare Awards night in
2010. After receiving my award for Best
Actor (Female)for Paa, I was rushing out as I had to catch a flight to Delhi where I
was shooting for No One Killed Jessicab when someone from UTV introduced me
to Siddharth. I knew of him as the CEO of UTV Movies but I’d never interacted with
him. That was our first meeting and abrief one.

Q. Apparently, Karan Johar also played Cupid between the two of you…

Well, Siddharth and I met again at a dinner at Karan’s house. We ended up
talking a little then. So I guess Karan intentionally or otherwise did play Cupid
and God bless him for that. And, yes may God bless Filmfare too.

Q. When did you actually start seeing each other?

I don’t know. It’s weird because I usually remember dates easily, almost like that
guy from Dil Chahta Hai. But in this
particular case I don’t. Maybe, because it was here to stay. Something inside told
me we would be together.

Q. We’re sure you remember your first
date with him. How did that go?

(Smiles) I’m not about to tell you. It’s not like we started seeing each other instantly
but I do remember thinking to myself that he was such an easygoing guy. I
don’t know how it all happened. I didn’t stop to analyse or figure out what was
happening. I just felt I could be myself
with him. I could laugh out loud like I normally do. I could speak my mind and
yet I had butterflies and they were
dancing. It was just magic.

Q. You got married at 33. Would it have been different at an early age?

I don’t think there’s a right age to fall in
love or get married. But I’m happy I got
married when I did, when I felt ready.
I’m sure being married at 33 is different
from getting hitched at a younger age. At
33 you know what you want. I have my set of ideals and idiosyncrasies but I
always had them. It’s a very basic thing but I don’t like my clothes being put into
my wardrobe. I like to do it myself. I won’t even allow the house help to do it.
Even if I lose my memory and you ask me
where I’ve kept something at home I’d
be able to tell you.

Q. Surely, Siddharth and you must have your differences…

(Laughs) Arrey, we’re still in our
honeymoon period yaar, it’s too early to speak about differences. Having said that,
where there are two individuals, there
are bound to be differences, no? I’m yet
to experience married life, considering
I’m just married. But I know enough
people who believe marriage means a lot of adjustments and as long as you don’t
see them as compromises, you’re safe.
When you truly love someone and that
person makes you love yourself, a
marriage works itself out.

Q. You’ve been on your own for so long.
Now you have to share your life with
someone. Does that scare you?

(Laughs) A lot of people tell me that
sharing a bathroom is actually a big deal.
On a serious note, I’m really looking forward to sharing my life with Siddharth.
There’s space in ‘my space’ for this
someone else.

Q. Why did you choose to get married in
times when couples chose to live-in?
Marriage isn’t just a stamp of approval for
a relationship. It’s the highest form of
commitment and I knew I want to be with Siddharth. Some people are happy
living-in but that’s not for me. I believe in the institution of marriage because I’ve
seen beautiful marriages around me. And
if and when we have children, I don’t
want them to go through issues because we aren’t married.

Q. Any more reasons?

It’s never easy breaking away, even when
you’re living-in or just in a relationship
but maybe marriage gives you that extra impetus to try and make it work. And
there are families involved. You’re only gaining in marriage. Like my family is
gaining one more member and so is his
family. (Winks) And we’ll only add to it.

Q. What is your equation with his family?
He’s a Punjabi Jew. They’re a prototype of
genuinely secular people. Most
importantly, they’re warm and happy
people.

Q. How deeply rooted are you to your
traditions?

Right from the Kanjeevaram sarees to the
Mallipoo (scented oil) in my hair and the
kolam (a kind of rangoli) outside my door,
I’m completely entrenched in a South
Indian upbringing; the customs and
culture. We’re not ritualistic though. Also
prayer is part of my upbringing and it’s
integral to my being.

Q. Does it stem out of fear?

Prayer is often reinforced to assuage fear

or fulfill wants. But you learn over time that prayer is also gratitude and importantly love. I’m discovering the joy
of saying ‘Thank You’.

Q. Isn’t that also being spiritual?

To me, spirituality means a state of
unconditional love and acceptance of self
and therefore of others. I still have a long
way to go.

Q. Coming back to your newly married
status, do you at times miss being single?

No way, I don’t miss being single at all. I
was single for a long time.

Q. What is it about Siddharth that annoys you the most?

I hate the fact that he’s so punctual and I
thought I was the most organised. But he
beats me at it.

Q. One thing that you love about him...
Amongst other things, what I admire about him is the warmth with which he
meets people. He’s non-judgmental and
accepting.

Q. As a star you’re always watched.
Where do you get that private space for a
relationship to blossom?

A couple needs little space. (Winks) The
lesser the private space the more exciting it gets.

Q. How do you like spending time with him?
I love going for long drives, even if it means late at night.

Q. Which film of yours is his favourite?
He really liked me in Kahaani.

Q. Any movie he dislikes?
(Laughs) I don’t have the guts to ask him
if it’s Heyy Babyy or Kismet Konnection.

Kapoor, speaks her style.

Q. What inspires your sense of style?

One should wear the outfit; the outfit should not wear you. You’ve to enjoy
dressing up. I’m inspired by Madhubala,
Meena Kumari, Audrey Hepburn and
Katharine Hepburn’s sense of dressing.
Movies too have inspired me to wear
beautiful clothes. And while acting, I
don’t dress to be edgy but to be a
character.

Q. How did you acquire fashionista tag?
When I came to the industry, I didn’t
want to wear those bodycon dresses or
Swarovski sarees. That wasn’t me at all.
Like there are connoisseurs of wine or art,
I understand clothes and designers. So
when I started creating my own style, I
gave enough fodder for people to talk
about. When you’re not trying to be someone else, the unique image sticks to
you. I didn’t have to try too hard and
people loved what I wore.

Q. Do you seek inspiration from
international fashion magazines?

I do go online to see trends in the world
of fashion. But I love the fashion between
the ’50s –’80s. I dig vintage fashion. I
love Geoffrey Beene (American fashion
designer) from the ’80s. I don’t dislike
current trends. But I only like them when
they have a vintage touch. I love when
there’s history to a certain look. I’m
skinny, so when I wear shoulder pads and
high-waist skirts, I feel I am from the
’80s. Even the new collections of top
designers are inspired by classic fashion.
The Gucci collections are often recreating
the ’20s look. Dolce & Gabbana are
inspired by the ’50s. Presently, I enjoy
wearing prop tops and high-waist pants.
That’s so ’80s and ‘in’.

Q. What’s the problem with Indian
designers?

Unfortunately, instead of embracing our
own culture, fabrics and embroidery like
detailed Lucknowi work, Kashmiri work,
Hyderabadi work and mirror work, our designers are influenced by the West. I
was in Benares recently for Ranjhanaa
and bought so many Banarasi sarees.
India has a huge gamut of styles and
fabrics. That’s what I love about Anamika
Khanna, Sabyasachi and Abu-Sandeep.
They’re true to their roots. Designers can
create western outfits but by infusing a
little Indianess, they can make them
funky. Like Anamika has made me a dress
out of a Banarasi saree. The West is
inspired by us but we’re ashamed to
imbibe from our own culture. I attended
an outstanding Chanel show that was inspired by Mumbai and Jaipur. The
clothes had such beautiful embroidery.
When they can do it so well, why can’t
we? Anamika Khanna’s work is often
influenced by the royal family of
Hyderabad. She makes androgynous
clothes for women. The clothes are
Indian but the take is modern. Sabyasachi
also uses Barong (formal Filipino attire)
influences.

Q. But are these clothes wearable?

Of course they are. Indian clothes on Indian bodies look best. I don’t think wearing gowns or hippie type of clothes
suits all. Unless you’re like Deepika
Padukone, Anushka Sharma or me, girls
who are tall and have model thin bodies.
Designers like Anamika Khanna do make
wearable clothes.

Q. How stylish are we as a country?

Recently, I was in Jaipur with my sister
Rhea. We saw this headsman who was
wearing different prints on his dhoti and
kurta. He was also wearing Rajasthani
jewellery that looked gorgeous and
fashionable. Even movies today have
actors wearing kurtis and ethnic stuff. So
when we don’t try to ape the West, we can be fashionable. Rani Mukerji in Bunty
Aur Babli or Kareena Kapoor in Jab We
Met is what young girls dress like. Even my look in Delhi 6 with the floral salwar
kameez and dhoti pants was great. If you
go to old Delhi or Jawaharlal Nehru
University, you’ll find girls and boys so well-dressed. And they aren’t wearing
anything expensive. It is all from the
streets. Even in Mumbai if you go to Linking Road, you’ll see girls wearing
shorts with Kolhapuri chappals. It looks so
good.

Q. For photoshoots you go from being bizarre to outlandish with great ease...

People tell me that I’m different at
photoshoots and experiment so much. I
tell them it’s acting. There’s nothing to it
other than playing that character at that
time. I remember doing a shoot a couple
of years ago for Filmfare’s anniversary
issue where I played Nutan, Waheeda
Rehman and Meena Kumari. I was just
acting. It doesn’t take much to do
something like that. As an actor, it’s my
job to act well in photoshoots too. That’s
why I always get beautiful and sometimes
mad pictures.

Q. Have you ever had a bad hair or bad
clothes days?

Honestly, no one can have a bad hair day
or a bad clothes day as long as you’re
happy. When you feel happy, you look
beautiful. So being positive helps in looking good however clichéd it may
sound.
Q. One thing in your wardrobe that
makes you feel awesome...
There’s no one thing. But I do have a lot
of bell sleeves and long maxis. When I’m
feeling fat I wear one of my maxis and I
feel fine.
Q. One style obsession…
I’m obsessed with sarees. I believe I look
best in them.
Q. Weren’t you supposed to start a high-
street brand?

We’re working on it. Due to my other commitments it’s taking time. Also, my
sister Rhea is producing three films. We’re
both tied up. People have shown interest
in it. We’ll soon start a high-street brand
and then move on to ready to wear and
couture. I really want to do this besides
films.

Q. Have you seen a change in your own
style in the past five years?

When I first came in, I used to wear a lot of Indian clothes. I was nervous as every
newcomer is. So I wore what made me feel comfortable. My promotions for
Saawariya were in Indian clothes. I wore
a lot of angharkas. People didn’t even
know what angharkas were until I started wearing them. It was around Delhi 6 that
I started experimenting with my clothes.
Now, I love to mix and match. Like for the Hello Derby last year, I wore a saree.
People jibed that I had come in a saree to
a Derby. But like I said, if you can carry it
off, it looks good.

Q. How do you remain calm with the
paparazzi and fashion blogs taking
pictures of you at all events?

I usually get positive reactions. Even if they say something negative, how does it
matter? I know how good I feel when I
dress up. And it’s the same with my
movies and my personal life. For them, it’s a high to comment on my style and
what I should wear. Why should I listen
to them?

Q. Have you ever had a wardrobe
malfunction?

Recently, at the Roberto Cavalli event, someone stepped on my gown, it got
pulled and the gown unzipped. Jacqueline
Fernandez, who was with me, covered me
up immediately. We ran to the washroom
and zipped up the gown. (Laughs) I guess I had not locked the zip right.

Q. Boots are in this season. What sort of
boots would you suggest for young girls?

Mumbai is too warm for boots. But if you’re in North India, you can wear thigh
high boots and own the look. If you have
short legs, you should wear high heel
boots and if you have long legs then you
should wear flat boots. Most Indian girls
aren’t too tall so wearing short boots or
thigh high boots are advisable as other
boots might make them look short.

Virat Kohli

You have seen her playing classy strokes on the cricket field. Here ' s the other side of the very talented and stylish Virat Kohli. Childhood Memories I have always been a fan of the Hindi movies and my earliest memories of films have to be of watching black and white movies with my family. As a kid, my favourite Hindi movie was Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Anyone who has seen the movie, will know why it was my favourite film. And it’s mainly because of this film that I idolised Aamir Khan as I was growing up. To date, I am a huge Aamir Khan fan. Among the three Khans – Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman – Aamir is my favourite. Not only is he a brilliant actor but he also adapts well to diverse roles. IPL & Bollywood Time and again, much hullabaloo is made about Bollywood’s involvement in the Indian Premiere League. But as a cricketer, I’d only like to say that my job is on the field and what goes on off it, isn’t really on my radar. Bollywood Music Rocks What I love the most about the Hindi film industry is its music. It sets our cinema apart from the rest of the world. According to me, there’s no better music in the world to dance to. I especially love Punjabi music. My favourite track right now is Tu mera hero from Desi Boyz. I can listen to the song on loop. The other song I like is Sadi gali from Tanu Weds Manu. I also like the sound track of Jannat 2. Theatre Experience v/s DVDs I’m a big movie buff. I prefer going to the theatre to watch films but we don’t always have the time to make it to scheduled shows. So I’ve made up for that by installing a 64” TV and an amazing home theatre system. Now I can watch movies in the comfort of my home and get a theatre-like experience. I think the last movie I watched on DVD was The Avengers. Hollywood I enjoy watching Hollywood movies. The Illusionist is one of the coolest Hollywood films I've seen and Johnny Depp is a great actor. I even like Angelina Jolie a lot but according to me, the sexiest Hollywood actress is Penelope Cruz. She is my secret celebrity crush. Fan Moments I don’t really go to filmi events but I did meet Hrithik (Roshan), Salman (Khan) and a few others at Sachin paaji’s (Tendulkar’s) 100th century dinner, hosted by the Ambanis. It was a fun evening. Sexiest Actresses Among the yesteryear actresses, Rekha wins hands down. She was undoubtedly the sexiest. As for today’s B-town actresses, Katrina Kaif is my favourite. I also think she is the most talented actress at the moment. However, I think that Kareena Kapoor is the No. 1 heroine. She beats Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra in the race. Favourite Genre I love watching action films and thrillers. But three of my favourite Hindi films are Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Ishq and 3 Idiots, which aren't from those genres. Films & Cricket

Bollywood has always had a fascination for cricket. Lagaan is by far the best Hindi film based on the sport. Dream Role I have never thought about acting but my dream role in a film would be that of Iron Man, which the suave and dashing Robert Downey Jr portrays in the Hollywood series. Career In Films Quite a few Indian cricketers have tried their hand in films in the past. But I am not open to the idea of a career in Hindi films. Cricket is my one and only love. And I have no back up plans. Recently, there were rumours that Prabhu Sir (Prabhudeva) offered me a film while I was shooting for an ad film with him but those rumours are false. Yes, I did have a great experience shooting with him but the only thing he offered me were a few dance moves. However, if I actually had to pick an Indian cricketer, who’d make for a great actor, I’d choose Zaheer Khan. © K.S. BlogBuster™ Specials.

Star Hobbies: Saif Ali Khan

So here 's the last post of this series hope you had fun.

HOBBY: Playing The Guitaar

This one’s no surprise, be it promoting a
film or performing on-stage, Saif Ali Khan
has often been spotted strumming his
electric guitar. While it may have started
as a compulsory subject in school, far
from growing out of his passion, the
actors love towards his guitar only seems
to have increased. In fact, the actor even
got together with rock band Parikrama for
a live concert in Delhi.

Dimple: What are the movies you are doing now?

I’ve just completed Nautanki Saala with Rohan Sippy.

Q. ShwetaLovesYou: Are you going to host the next season of Just Dance?
All I will say is that hosting on television will be selective now.

Q. GGwhiz: What’s better – television or
movies?

Movies of course! India mein cricket aur
Bollywood are the biggest.

Q. Deval: How does it feel to gain sudden
success as an actor and singer for the same film?

Awesome!! It’s a double whammy!

Q. Deval: How do you balance between singing and acting?
I’m an actor who sings and not a singer who acts. So, singing always takes a backseat.
Q. Anisha: When can we hear another song from you?

I’m singing two songs for Nautanki Saala.
The music will be out in December.

Q. Mohit: What role has poetry played in
your life?
Poetry helps me observe life. Most of my blogs are satires on real life observations.

Q. John: Which is your favourite song?
Since you are John… ahem… it would be Rum whiskey.

Q. Vivek: Why such a slow approach to
your career?

I take it slow because I’m a professional
donor.

Q. John: Have you studied music?

As a kid, I used to take vocal training. I
never took it seriously though.

Q. P Agarwal: What kind of roles do you
want to do in the future?

Anything that excites me! I don’t plan things in life.

Q. Radhiah: You have the sweetest smile
a man can have. Is it your USP?
Thanks a lot. I can’t say that. These
dimples are just dents on my face.
Overrated!
Q. Sibtain: Did you plan to become an actor?
I always wanted to be an actor. It was my
secret plan.
Q. Ajay: What’s your take on Vicky Donor
not being nominated for the Oscars?

I don’t expect much from life anyway.
I’m happy that people are talking about it
and carrying this debate forward. I do feel
bad though for my director Shoojit Sircar
and writer Juhi Chaturvedi who thought of such an original script.

Q. Naksh: Tell us something interesting
about your Vicky Donor co-star Yami Gautam.

Hey Naksh, Yami is fair and lovely and uses a Samsung phone.

Q. Priya: Who are the actresses you wish
to work with?

I’d really like to work with Anushka
Sharma, Deepika Padukone and Parineeti
Chopra.

Q. Pooja: How was it working with Kunal Roy Kapoor in Nautanki Saala?
Kunal is a super performer. You’ll see a
total transition in him from Delhi Belly to
Nautanki Saala.

Q. Radhiah: Who do you think could be
your competitor for the best debut
award?
My film’s a superhit. That’s my award.
Q. Kainat: What’s tougher – singing or
acting?

Singing. It’s more technical. Acting has no
rules.
Q. Ajay: If not an actor, what would you
have become?

I have been a radio presenter, television
anchor and I’m a singer too. So if not an
actor, I’d have these options.
Q. Jasleen: Did doing theatre and street
plays help you as an actor?

Of course! Theatre was my learning
ground. I had formed two theatre groups
in Chennai as well. But theatre and films
are different. You have to unlearn a lot of
stuff. There are no close shots in plays.
Q. Radhiah: Where do you see yourself
five years from now?
In my early ‘30s. Very much alive and kicking.

Q. Sibtain: How do you deal with success
or failure?

I’m a dark horse! I’m self-made and have
the wisdom to deal with both the
situations.

Q. Titas: On what grounds do you choose
a film?

I go with my gut and the other person’s
credibility.
Q. Sabeen: What kind of negative role
would you like to play if given a chance?

Shah Rukh Khan’s in Darr or the joker of the The Dark Knight.

Q. Adarsh: Which are the five directors
you wish to work with?
Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Dibaker
Bannerji, Maneesh Sharma and Vishal Bhardwaj
Q. Samchats: On a scale of 1 to 10, how
would you rate yourself as an actor?

5.

Q. Hrishant: Are you looking forward to
directing a film in the future?

Don’t know man! Pehele acting toh seekh
loon.
Q. Titas: Among the young actors, whom
do you consider your biggest competition
and why?

There’s no competition. We are all sodifferent and awesome in our own way!
This is the best era of Indian cinema
actor with Balwinder Singh… Famous Ho Gaya

Mika as an actor

“Offers to act have been coming my way
for several years but I kept turning them
down. Firstly, I make as much as an
established star through my shows (he
reportedly charges Rs 40 lakh per show)
and secondly, I’m not acting as my
character is close to what I am in real
life.”

On brother Daler Mehndi

“The one big thing he’s taught me is that I should have a unique identity. That’s why
I’m not called Mika Mehndi. And I don’t dress like him.” He says his brother was
the highest paid singer at one time. “He
charged Rs 2 crore for a Coke ad 10 years
ago. He was charging 20 lakhs per show
back then. He took 80 lakhs for the Tunuk
tunuk tun song. I aspired for that kind of
popularity. He achieved that by being
unique and, more importantly, by
marketing himself uniquely. He knows
how to brand himself and I’ve taken his
marketing lessons to heart.” He
rubbishes the rumours that the brothers
don’t get along. “He’s a father figure for
me. I don’t even sit in front of him. Such
rumours come about because some

jealous souls have a problem digesting
the fact that two talented and successful
people exist in one family.

Other controversies

What about other controversies that he’s
always surrounded with? Should we surmise that they are a part of his ahem,
marketing campaign? Like his infamous lip
lock with Rakhi Sawant for instance, which
still gets written about?

“Unlike others, I

don’t need to cook up controversies to be
in the news,” he retorts. He says
controversies just happen to him by
chance. “I’m a controversy magnet.
Controversies come and go but they
haven’t dimmed my fan following. I may
have a bad boy image but my fans know
I’m a good guy at heart.”

Expounding on
it, he comments that he wouldn’t have
excelled in the live stage show business if
people believed he was a bad boy.

“Look
at someone like Shakti Kapoor or Aman
Verma. They have sort of faded away.
They are out, gone. But that isn’t so in my case. I sing at weddings too and girls
wouldn’t have asked for me if they
thought I was a bad person or if their
parents thought I was so too.”

Performing at weddings

He says the wedding market wasn’t easy
to crack into. “Shah Rukh Khan performs
at weddings and hence everyone else has
to up their act. I’m on my toes more at
weddings than my other shows. Weddings
are special. You’d be part of someone’s
memory for the rest of their lives. Hence,
I have to deliver something unique at such events.”

Bachelor Mika

Mika asserts he will definitely get
married. His choice of a life-partner would
be a seedhi saadi Punjabi kudi who’d be
patient enough to live with an artiste and
deal with the eccentricities and
controversies that come with the
package. “I want someone who
understands me yaar, nothing more. I
want someone who’ll love me as I am
and not want me to change. And
someone who’s not in awe of my money
and fame.”

Animal lover

Mika jokes that the other reason why he
hasn’t gotten married so far is because
he’s yet to buy an elephant. He plans to
ride an elephant in his baraat. “I own a
100 acre farmhouse. It’s situated on Damadama Lake near Gurgaon. I have 12
dogs, four cows and two horses running
free on my farm. One of my horses gave
birth some time ago. The foal is called
Bebo. Because I liked the song Bebo
main bebo. I love my dog Jugni, who is
my favourite and my camels Shankar and
Shambhu.” He waxes poetic on the
cathartic qualities of nature. “I like
spending time on my farmhouse among
my animals. Owning this farm has taught
me that animals don’t need money to be
happy. It’s man who runs after money
and its important to realise that money
isn’t the be all and end all of everything.”

Talent hunts

Ask him about his views on talent hunts
and he says such shows have altered the
lifestyle of small town singers. “Someone
who was perhaps earning Rs 10,000 per
month now earns a lakh per month after
gaining recognition through such
programmes. They can afford good
houses, good cars. It has given hope to
many and something that helps improve
people’s lifestyles should always be
welcomed.”
