McDonald's Launching 'Grinch' Meal in December

2025-11-20T11:35:00.000-08:00

The meal features a limited-edition fry seasoning and Grinch socks.

McDonald’s is known for rolling out festive surprises each holiday season, and 2025 is no exception. This year, the Golden Arches is teaming up with the ultimate holiday curmudgeon—Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch—to launch a limited-edition value meal inspired by the green grump himself.
The Grinch Meal includes your choice of a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, a medium drink, and fries tossed in a special dill-pickle–flavored “Grinch salt,” complete with a shaker bag for added fun. Each meal also comes with one of four collectible Grinch-themed pairs of socks.
The meal officially launches on December 2, 2025, at participating U.S. locations. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but based on previous limited-edition meals, it will likely be around $10. Every pair of socks is packaged with a special message “from the Grinch,” written in his classic chaotic style.

"THiS iS MY MEAL AND i DiDN'T PARTNER WiTH McDONALD'S OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART," said The Grinch in a handwritten note on crumpled paper from Mt. Crumpit. "i SAW AN OPPORTUNiTY TO BRiNG MiSCHiEF TO YOUR BELOVED "RESTAURANT" WiTH MY DELiCiOUS CHAOS FOR THE HOLiDAYS AND i TOOK iT. SO GO AHEAD, GRAB MY MEAL STARTING DEC. 2 – YOU'RE WELCOME FOR MAKiNG YOUR HOLiDAYS iNFiNiTELY MORE iNTERESTiNG."

McDonald’s is also bringing back two seasonal fan favorites: the McRib and the Holiday Pie. The McRib features a pork patty shaped like a rack of ribs, smothered in tangy barbecue sauce and served on a toasted

rectangular bun with pickles and sliced onions. The Holiday Pie returns with its warm vanilla custard filling, topped with white icing and festive red and green sprinkles.

In addition, restaurants are currently offering a Chips Ahoy! Frappe and the Buffalo Ranch Sauce, available on their own or paired with four different menu items.

Get them while you can—holiday treats never stick around for long!

The grilled cheese sandwich is a timeless favorite that brings comfort to kids and adults alike. Whether you prefer it on sourdough, white, or wheat, with cheddar, American, or a mix of cheeses, everyone has their own perfect version.

Traditionally, most people rely on butter to achieve that golden, crispy exterior. But there’s a growing camp of grilled cheese lovers who swear by mayonnaise instead. Earlier this year, chefs from Tillamook put the debate to the test at their Grilled Cheese Fest — and the verdict? The best sandwiches use both.

“The grilled cheese may seem simple, but it’s anything but basic,” said Chef Josh of Tillamook. “After spending more than two years perfecting our signature grilled cheese — which we serve to nearly 100,000 guests at Tillamook Creamery each year — I’ve learned just how dynamic and comforting this sandwich can be. My goal is to help anyone turn a humble sandwich into a golden, gourmet masterpiece.”

To make it easier for fans to recreate that perfect bite at home, Tillamook has teamed up with Japanese mayonnaise brand KEWPIE to create a new hybrid spread: Butternaise. This blend of Tillamook Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter and KEWPIE Organic Mayonnaise promises the ultimate texture and flavor for your next grilled cheese (I may get a commission from this link).

The limited-edition Butternaise Gift Set — which includes a jar of Butternaise, two packs of Tillamook cheese, and a spreader will be available online for $15 while supplies last.

So whether you’re team butter, team mayo, or somewhere in between, this collaboration might just change the way you make your next grilled cheese forever.

The Butternaise gift set will go on sale on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, while supplies last. Visit the Tillamook website for recipes, including the classic Tillamook Grilled Cheese.

Boo Buckets Returning to McDonald's Stores for Halloween

2025-09-29T12:37:00.000-07:00

Boo Buckets 2022, Courtesy McDonald's Corp./Prnewswire

This year's buckets will hit stores on October 21, 2025.

McDonald's Boo Buckets are a popular Halloween tradition for kids of all ages. The jack-o’-lantern themed buckets originated in 1986 and became a must-have for kids and collectors alike. The 2025 collection will include five different designs: an orange pumpkin, white ghost, red Frankenstein, black cat and a green witch. Get one with the purchase of a Happy Meal beginning on October 21, while supplies last.

The original Happy Meal buckets were similar to the current buckets, but had lids. Over the years designs came and went, and the company got rid of the lids, opting for decorated handles. Much to the chagrin of parents, these buckets remained long after Halloween was over. You may still have one in your attic or Halloween storage bin.

Halloween Happy Meals aren’t the only Halloween tradition the restaurant chain has. Each year, participating stores offer treat books that trick-or-treaters can redeem for menu items like ice cream, apple dippers and hamburgers. The treat books come in packs of twelve and are priced around $1.25.

There’s nothing more popular than nostalgia, so you can expect to the Halloween Happy Meal buckets to fly off the shelves. If you want to get your hands on one of those buckets, run to the closest McDonald’s at 10:30 a.m. on October 21. You may also be able to see the availability of the buckets by using the McDonald’s app.

I recently moved to Maryland and so I will now devote this blog to kids menus in the Maryland/Virginia/DC area. Coastal Flats is a local restaurant chain with locations in Gaithersburg and Tysons Corner. They serve a mix of salads, seafood and classic dishes with a seaside bent. On Sundays they serve brunch and every table gets a bread basket filled with beignets (they call them something else but they are essentially beignets with cinnamon sugar. To see the full menu go to the Coastal Flats site.

Dave & Busters kids menu Summerlin

2016-08-22T13:42:00.001-07:00

Downtown Summerlin is now home to a Dave & Busters! The giant bar and restaurant features arcade games on steroids that use reloadable cards as currency. The cards also keep track of the tickets your kids win so that you don't have to carry them around and find them in your purse for the next year. The restaurant offers a couple meal deals that include $10 in game credits and if you sign up for a a rewards card you can get an extra $10.

The tickets can actually be redeemed for some decent stuff. For an expenditure of around $20, your kid will probably have enough tickets to get a play ball, small stuffed animal or some other trinket that is waaay better than the stuff you haul home form Chuck E. Cheese.

The fries are great too.

Spago Las Vegas Kids Menu

2013-10-12T09:00:00.000-07:00

When you think of restaurants to take your kids, Spago Las Vegas might not be high on the list. However, it can be a great place for a causal lunch or maybe a nice milestone dinner when you don't have a babysitter. The kids can get something they like and Mom and Dad can get a cocktail and something gourmet.

The grilled cheese is the best ever - I think it is made on croissant bread or something and sometimes they make pizza in a kid pleasing shape. The wait is a little longer than your typical casual dining restaurant, so make sure you have entertainment. The kids menu at Postrio in the Grand Canal Shops at the Venetian is almost identical to this one. Spago also has a gluten free menu.
