Hi my Followers. I wanted to let you know that I will be shutting The Klauer Review Down for good. It has been fun but way too time consuming to do on my own.. I have had a few fun years of sharing some great products with you and I hope you took our pretty laid back rambling reviews and got some good use out of them.

With 4 small boys and my husband Deploying soon with the Army I just need to dump a few stresses off my plate.

Our Thoughts~ I am excited to start writing. With 4 small boys it is hard to keep up with a full length type journal. But with this journal there is a small spot each day for a cliff notes version of the day or maybe a funny thing that happened or something funny your kids did or said. My kids are forever saying something silly and I try to remember to write those little conversations down but with this journal it will give me that spot to keep these treasures close. I like that you have all 10 years for that day on the one page so you can look back each year and see what happened on that day the previous years.

What is CTB? (from their site)

Getting Started When you buy your cards you need to remember to buy some Tabbies and Highlighters and double sided tape to tape in your index card. Best place to Look is Amazon I would have saved myself so much time if I would have just gone there. Also in my bible I have very delicate pages and after I started working on my bible I think I will use Colored pencils instead. I don't like the bleed through of my highlighters. I haven't used typical highlighters in my Bible in a long time not since my student bible but that had heartier pages. My new one I got for my Confirmation is just to delicate for regular highlighters. I have used the new Gel Highlighters that I recently did a review on and those are brilliant in the bible but do not come in enough sorted colors for this. So I will be heading back out for colored pencils to finish my labeling.

As you can see I am not very far in my tabbing because I was messing around with the highlighters trying to find a way to not let them bleed through. That is when a friend suggested Color pencils so I will be finishing soon. I posted a photo above from the CTB website showing a finished tabbed bible.

I love that this helps with easy to find and easy to access the Bible Verses that will help your child in times of conflict. I wish there was a time for uplifting as well. Like just having a sad day or heartbroken I know that is more for teenage years but I guess I am looking at it for encouragement as well. Not that I am sure where more tabbies could be put but I'd love a few encouraging sections. But this is definitely a big help when you want to find it and find it fast. Great companion for any household with little ones. You let your little one know what you expect but it is nice to also introduce them to what God expects.

Our Thoughts~ This is a very neat interactive ebook. It is like watching Bob Ross's Joy of Painting again. The serenity in his painting. This book helps teach you how to work with the watercolours but really doesn't let you practice at all.. I am not sure how that would be able to be programmed but I would love to see where you could practice the strokes in a simulated watercolour action after each lesson. The way it is designed now I feel like I need to sit right next to the easel and practice as the book demonstrates. My kids really enjoyed watching the book and the beautiful paintings that are done on the ebook to demonstrate the technique are mesmerizing. If you ever wondered about water colors and wanted to try to learn this is a great instructional book for you.

Well aside from the Catchy theme song I still can't get out of my head. I love how these videos are teaching my kids about the books of the Bible and other topics that flow through out the Bible. The Fun Characters and the quick tempo of the dvds keep my children's short attention spans engaged through out the whole video.

2nd Vol. "Let My People Go"

In the first part of this volume the Characters go over how the books in the Bible were selected and what Canon means. They then also touch on Sin and our Relationships with God. How Sin disrupts our relationship with God.

In the second Part of this volume we learn God's Rescue Plan for us from Sin. From the 3 factors of sin, the stain of sin the power of sin and the presence of sin around us. This leads our Characters to the Second book of the Bible Exodus.

My Kids love What's In The Bible? And I love it too. It helps reach them and teaches them in a way they can understand this very complex book. If you find yourself tripping over how to teach your children the Bible and need some help I would say definitely give these videos a try. They are fun and fast pace. Full of vibrant characters that hooks and keeps their attention through out the whole video. And you will hear the catchy songs for DAY if not WEEKS after you play them.

Our Thoughts~ We love Sid at our house. I love to watch my kids pile up with their own questions during the episodes. Most of the time the episodes to an amazing job answering all of my children's questions but ever blue moon I get the pleasure of talking them through a question they still have. It is fun to listen to their scientific minds pick apart something and absorb new meanings. Sid really challenges the world and asks the best question and my kids learn as he learns the answers. So tune into your PBS station this coming week starting Monday for these great new Episodes.

Our Thoughts~ I was very intrigued with the idea that these had a smear-protection quality to them. Along with the fact that they would not bleed through paper.. Even paper as thin as Bible pages. Everyone who owns a Bible or has seen one. Has known the feel of the rice style paper of the Bible Pages. The thin See through quality. A lot of other highlighters easily bleed through pages especially these delicate Bible pages. So I decided that my Bible was going to be my tester. I like to highlight passages in the Bible that help me on a daily basis. Here is a page of my Bible in the book of Proverbs where I used the yellow gel highlighters to highlight to passages. I like that it went on smoothly, did not bleed or smear. I also like a quality that isn't mentioned in their description. I like that it isn't overbearing. Some highlighters are very much a POP off the page and burn your retina colors. Which sometimes makes it hard to read a page that some of the highlighter was applied to but these are a soft yellow. Just enough to stand out but not distracting when I am looking at other passages on the same page. I honestly think that is my favorite quality about these.

Now I need to find more of these in multiple colors so I can keep highlighting up a storm. These will be great when I go back to school. As I said before I actually shied away from highlighting in my text books because of the overbearing colors but now I think I will have a great tool for my classes.

Winter is coming up fast and already I have had a horrible cough/ sore throat. I hope that is not a foreshadow of how this cold and flu season is going to go. Luckily I was able to test out Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops during my recent illness.

First a little Back story on the company and product (this was on their product description)......

Ulysses S. Grant was President, the population of America hovered at 39 million, and the telephone was still a pipe dream, when in 1870 J. Herman Pine hung out a confectionery shingle on 8th Street above Walnut in Philadelphia and, along with his brother, sold their first batch of what they called 'Pine Brothers Glycerine Tablets.' In an attempt to relieve his own sore throat and those of his family members, Mr. Pine, a former German confectionery maker, determined that by combining the soothing natural qualities of glycerin with the healing properties of gum acacia, he could sooth and mitigate the mild discomfort of a sore throat. Add in some natural flavoring and a sweetener and voila, Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops were born. "I have discovered something," Pine wrote, "which will give quick throat relief to thousands afflicted as I was." He added,"Perhaps I won't make much money out of this. Our Thoughts~ These Throat Drops are interesting.. It is really hard to explain.. The softish they are talking about is more of a thick gummy. So they are sorta like a gummy bear only harder in consistency. Which makes them pretty interesting to say the least. I am really horrible at letting my throat drops actually melt the whole way I end up playing with them between my back teeth and crunching down pretty much making their soothing effect voided, due to swallowing small pieces of drop instead of letting the medicine trickle down my throat. However, Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops really don't allow me to bite down like I usually do. Which is great. Because they are Softish they are harder to bite through and I realize I am doing it and stop trying and in turn allows the medicinal trickle effect that is supposed to happen with throat drops.

I got to try two flavors out of the three. The cherry and honey. Both were not over whelming and easy on the palate. I did feel that my scratch throat was soothed but I did need to keep up with using them consistently. If I forgot to renew it my sore throat would come back.

All in all they worked great and were easy to carry in these little containers (see photo below). You can find them a CVS and other retailers just check their web site. Link is above.

Our Thoughts~ My eldest son loves books. And I love that with this app he can listen to it or he can read the pages himself. On each page there are questions for him to review what he read. Between the text pages is an interactive page where you can touch around and the picture moves or even talks. I think his favorite is the little bug saying goodbye on one of them.

This is a great app to have on hand while we are at appointments. It keeps my eldest busy listening to the story and playing with the interactive pages. His favorite part of this app is the bonus game where he helps Jeanso Pack his Backpack. The backpack shows a picture of the item to look for then you find it in the messy room. For $2.99 definitely a great Game to have on hand.

Our Thoughts~ My 2.5 year old really enjoyed this game. There are 8 animals that the child can learn about then when they get the hang of the sounds they make your child can go take a quiz. The quiz gives you the animal's sound and your child guesses who the sound belongs too. When they get a 100% they get to play a quick pop the balloons before the end.

I like that this app makes my little guy giggle. For $2.99 it is a great app to have on hand for your iPad or IPhone when you are out and about and your child needs a little entertaining. My 2.5 year old played this while we were waiting at the doctors office and kept him busy a pretty long time. My 4.5 year old I think was a bit too old for the target range. He played it mastered it and then went on. I haven't let my 16 month old play around with it yet because other than listening to the sounds I don't think he would really understand.

But over all I like it and so does my son.

BACK TO SCHOOL REUSABLE DURABLE DORM MOVE IN & OUT BOXES

Ok So I am way past my Dorm Days but I still got a Chance to review these boxes called Packaways. Personally I think these would be great for moving in and out of a dorm. They are made of a thick Plastic that mimics a Cardboard look. These are USA made products. They fold nicely for storage and they are quick to pop out to use. They have sturdy handle openings so you know you won't rip through them like traditional cardboard. They also have fold down lids. I did test the lid out to see how they went down but I left the lid sides up for my main testing since I used mine to gather toys together for a yard sale. I loved that I could pack these puppies full of toys and they were sturdy and didn't cave under pressure. I also like that they have a spot to write on the front to label what is inside. I really wish I had these for College. I used to buy a ton of plastic tubs and they were just a pain to store during the school year. I could see these easily fitting in the back of the college closet or under the bed. They would be easy to bring things back and forth on holidays and weekends.

I think these will be a great addition to our home for transporting Yard Sale items like I am doing now and Storing toys and stuff outgrown for the next yard sale in our storage area. I can also use these for the size up clothes. I am a big buyer of items on clearance for the next few sizes. I already have jeans for size 12 that I got for $1. He wont be in that size for like 5 years. But come one nice heavy duty normally $30 kid jeans for $1 I can store them for a bit. :D

How I made my Menu Board!!

I love this board.

Supplies:
Hot glue gun
12x12 scrap book paper- 2 sheets for the background
Extra card stock in your colors
a Crayon box or some sort of thin box. I used my Mabel Labels Box.
7 Clothes Pins
an 11x14 Photo frame.
Strips of magnetic tape
Hot Glue
Command Strips
Regular white Elmer's Glue

I used the board inside the photo frame to mount my scrapbook background too. Then I put it in the frame then I put magnetic strip tape all around the back so it would attach to my frig. I used clothes pins for the days of the week I modpodged ( my homemade recipe 1 part elmers glue to 1 part water). Scrapbook paper to them then used my gold pen to label the days of the week. Then I Hot glued them to the frame and I used command strips to put my meal card box on. Mostly because it was pretty heavy. On to the meal cards. I laminated mine just for extra protection. I also color coded. The Orange-yellow color is for Chicken Dishes, Green is for Beef Dishes, Blue is Meatless Dish (these will come in handy during lent.. Now I just need some recipes), Pink is Crockpot recipe, Brown is Leftover/new recipe (the new recipe after being approved by my panel of men gets its own card) and then Purple is everything else (like eat out night or delivery) . On the Cards the name of the dinner is on the front and on the back is a list of ingredients. That way when I pick out the meals I can then immediately flip it over get a quick look at my ingredients and put them on my shopping list if I don't have them.

We are almost a whole month into the school year? How is everyone doing? We are doing pretty well here. We have a 1st Grader this year and a 4Ker. As of right now only our 1st Grader eats lunch at school. Half way through kindergarten he no longer wanted a school lunch so we started packing his lunch. When we started doing this I was appalled by the shear amount of plastic bags and snack baggies and plastic fruit containers that went in just his lunch. That got me thinking. My One Son is making a TON of trash. Now what will it be like to have FOUR boys making this much trash DAILY!! Ok let's go Further what about all the kids in his class.

Honestly Think about this.. THAT IS A LOT OF GARBAGE. So I decided it was time to find alternatives to throw away materials. We now use reusable napkins, reusable utensils, reusable sandwich covers and snack baggies. Then I found the Laptop Lunches Bento-Ware and was immediately intrigued by the idea.

The Company Graciously gave us one set to try out and I have to admit I think I am having a blast helping Isaac think up healthy options to put in his lunch box. I keep telling him make it colorful. If it is colorful you will be hitting a lot of good food groups. I have been fun making up our own groupings but I know I will be digging into the Laptop Lunches Menu Link. I love how they have it divided by seasons so you can find easy ideas that are in local growing seasons.

What's in the Bible? is from the creator of Veggie Tales... Phil Vischer.

I got a chance to check out the First out of nine Volumes in the series so far. In Volume one there is two sections. The first section your kids learn what the bible is and how it is put together. Why some bibles have more books than others and who they believe, were inspired by God, to write down the stories of God and Jesus. Personally for me the first section wasn't insanely entertaining but it was very very informative. My kids were glued to the screen absorbing the words. And of course the theme song is insanely catch. I found myself singing it to myself in the kitchen the other day. Anyways other things you find out in the first section of volume one is, that you are introduced to the characters that will be teaching your kids.

In section two of the first volume one is when you start getting into the books. Of course starting with Genesis because Genesis means the beginning and in the beginning is where you are introduced to God and what he created. The Sections seem to switch characters a lot. Which I think this is to keep your child's attention. As an adult I was getting a little confused with the rapid characters coming in and out but my kids loved it. And after we finished both sections they asked to watch them both again. TWICE.. So the first day we watched the DVD through THREE TIMES.

Here is the first 5 min of volume one so you can get an idea of the style of video and instruction....

I like that in the Parent section of the web site there is a curriculum study guide that you can print off. So far I have only seen Volume one but I hope more come up soon. Our Thoughts~ I just recently started working out harder and longer. Time to get back in shape after having four kids in about 5.5 years. With harder and longer workouts I started to get a lot of sore muscles, sore joints well sore everything. Our Trip to Sam's Club

Our Thoughts~ These go with me everywhere. I love the fact that it is a carabiner but still has an adult handle. I put the baby in the sling a lot then put the diaper bag over my shoulder and then hook the carabiner to the diaper bag strap. This is how I get 4 kids to stay in arms reach through parking lots and stores. As you can see I give my children the option to hold the handle but if they decide not to (like my little guy in the light blue shirt). You can see I just pull the strap through and make it a little bracelet around his wrist that way he doesn't drop the handle.

Also because they are on a carabiner you can take a handle off if you don't need it. Which I do for the days my eldest is in school and I only need 2 handles at the time. I have already had a ton of comments on it and everyone wondering what it is and where to get one. Well here it is go to Hold-on handles by Greater Than One Kids.

I keep these with me in my van I click the carabiner on the bar on the back of my seat and it is ready right next to my ring sling to put on and go. My Test Sheet of Labels

Well it is that time again. BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON.. Which means it is time to LABEL LABEL LABEL.

There are many types of Oliver's Labels.

Our Thoughts~ These are great for Labeling everything. Honestly check out all the labels they have. I like the shoe labels that you stick inside your child's shoe. And best part they have an if found site. Where your labels are given a code and if you lose an article and the good Samaritan who finds it can go online and let you know where your lost article is. I have yet to lose something Knock on wood. So I haven't gotten to test this feature first hand but it does sound interesting. I like the clean look of the label plus I like that I don't have to label every individual item on the boy's supply list. These ones are general but for labeling the kids I would get their full names on their sheets to put on their items Makes tagging for the 2 boys easier and when all 4 are in school.. Well worth the money in buying the labels.

On my test sheet I used them for the general Klauer Items since I just put Klauer on there. I did put some on the baby's Sippy and they go through the dishwasher brilliantly, just make sure you let them adhere to the item of choice at least 4 hours before dishwashing.

No I am not Left Handed. I am just demonstrating and trying to get a photo at the same time. Made for an interesting time.

Our Thoughts~ After watching my little Kindergartener last year really have a hard time gripping the pencil I thought I would let him try the pen. When using the pen he has a much easier properly gripping the pen. I wish they made these as pencils since my now 1st Grader mostly uses pencils. I personally think they are neat. It took me a little bit to hold it properly because of the grip but once I did it was very comfortable. I got a blue version of a pen and I am not used to using blue anymore so that was a bit weird for me but with as comfy as it was to hold I could ignore that I was writing with Blue. lol. They do come in Blue, Red and Black so you could choose the color of your choice. The other thing is they are a thicker ink like so if you are used to a fine look it may be a little different for you. They come in many body colors as well so you can personalize your pen to your own needs.

As for the grip the only way I can describe it is it feels like the artificial fishing bait. Which is makes it nice and squishy for those long bouts of writing. I wish I had these in College when I was working on rough drafts.

Ella's Kitchen Review

We got a chance to review some products from Ella's Kitchen. I think Hands down Gabriel's favorites were the nibbly fingers and the cookies. I like that the cookies and the nibbly fingers are individually wrapped to go nicely in the diaper bag. But my favorite are these packs of baby food. They are Organic and have a wonderful combination of goodies for the baby to test. I love to pick up a few of the rice and fruit purees or the smoothie ones for when we are on the go. They fit nicely in the diaper bag and Gabriel loves to just suck all the stuff out. I do have some spoons that screw on the top but he likes the do it himself method better. Personally I try not to leave home with out at least one of these in the bag. They are great in a pinch. I love that they come in different stages like other baby foods so the texture and consistency starts to get thicker with age to help with the transition to solid foods.

In the photo above are some of the new flavors that Ella's Kitchen came up with. I think Gabriel's favorite was the Oat Crumble out of all of them.

Our Thoughts~ Sorry I couldn't make myself do the before and after photos of my teeth I guess I was just way to self conscious of them. But I do like that this system did lighten my teeth. It is a little hard to hold in for the whole time because my mouth kept filling up with spit. The first time I did accidentally put too much of the gel on so I was trying to spit it out instead of swallowing but once I got the hang of it I didn't have the issue of spit in my mouth because I was able to swallow without sucking down all the gel. The scariest thing ever is to have your child run off and not be able to find them. A personal story~ My husband, Brother and I along w
