Then the program crashed and I lost the final copy that I was about to post. So that totally sucked. But I've found, offered and am now purchasing my first home. I'm so very excited. I'm not even sure all that I want to decorate with right now, I'm too distracted by the hell hole that is my current apartment. The complex is nice don't get me wrong but I am a closet horder and my apartment is NOT looking that great right now with the broken down boxes lying every where waiting to get packed. I'm at the point that I'd like to take my cats and a few other things and burn the rest. I'm just so sick of it all. My goal is to have an almost empty house that is neat and tidy, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Now usually, any fruit I buy goes bad for lack of quick usefulness. So today, I washed chopped and sugared my berries. I also pulled out some frozen cherries to thaw, cut, de-pit, and sugar, I'm very excited. I am also listening to CraftLit while cleaning the house. Now I will have to get some tart/short cake recipes to whipp up soon. I can't wait for my parents to get 'back on the grid' with some internet. They have moved into their apartment in Poland and I have missed them these last couple of days as they as yet, do not have any internet.

I then saw in another blog (no idea this time) a beautiful picture of a cherry blossom tree in full bloom. I have NEVER been one to like the color pink, I always associated it to the girls who were too prissy to be my friends. But I have always enjoyed the pairing of a lite, almost white pink with a dark-chocolate brown. And so the urge to dye a skein of yarn pink and brown was strong, too bad I have no experience with dyeing nor the tools or even the yarn to dye. But the urge is still there, so when I have the time space and equipment to produce the nirvana of all yarn colors, I shall embark on the journey that will undoubtedly take me deep into the belly of the dyeing world.

I am never going to take this test it seems. GRRR I even have a job prospect that not only gets me into a hospital, but with the possibility of getting on the Mother Baby unit which is were I truly want to be, but I can't start working until I get my RN. This process has just been one long line of screw ups and I'm so sick of it. Hurumph!
I have to change my MOS from medic/LPN to medical paper specialist because The school I graduated from is not NLN certified and I can't be seen as an RN in the army with out that certification. So now I have to wait until I get through BSN school (next year?) to be seen as an RN and get my 66H.
I've started my garden for this year, it includes leeks, green beans, peas, and carrots. They are starting fine, Hopefully I'll have a good harvest this year unlike last.

I just finished a cheese burger and was in total ecstasy, I even was tempted to eat the pickle slice that had fallen out and grown cold, just to prolong the gastronomic enjoyment. But alas, I was strong and threw it away.
I am SO proud of myself I ran today! Granted it was only for 3 minuets, (I power-walked the other 12min) But it added up to a whole mile, I haven't done that for MONTHS. I am considering starting a program to 'potato to 5k' program to help me get back into shape, round is good for some areas, not all.
I was going to work on my hat today and found I had lost one of the DPN's! I was so mad, I've missed placed it several times before, but have I solved the problem? of course not. So tomorrow I hunt, just hope I am successful.
I found the awesome-est, most coolest site the other day, Chore Wars too cool, I get points for doing stuff I should do, but get too lazy to do. Pretty pathetic, but hey, if the work gets done, I'm happy.

Motivation will almost always beat mere talent!
--Norman Augustine

I first noticed when I started to forget to wear my watch, then I locked myself out of my car 2 time in as many days, then I started to forget to take my cell phone on short errands, and now I seem to have decided to forget my work badge. This would not have been a total problem except for that I need it to get into the building after hours, and since I work midnights, this is very important. So to counter act this forgetfulness, I have started to attach my badge to my top when I change cloths for work. And this is working great, except that because it has been SO FLIPPIN' COLD!! I have to wear extra layers of warm weather clothing. This only presents a problem when I am trying to utilize the badge. As it is under the mammoth amount of cloths and I don't want to take off or undo any of the items, I bump my chest against the reader, however, since I have so many layers, I truly have to molest the reader to have it read my badge. Quite a humorous display if one was watching.
I have another long weekend approaching, I drill on Sat and Sun 7:30a-5p and then Sun and Mon night, I am working 11p-7a THEN I have a MD appt at 8A tues morning, right after my shift. I tell you I will sleep like a baby tuesday! Well I will unless the mailman wakes me up with a package. . . I truly need to create a "Do Not Disturb" sign for my appartment door.
As I am getting more into sharing my life via pictures on different internet venues, I am realizing how little pictures I have of myself, tons of others and my cat, but none of me. So I shall have to cast the net to my friends and family to send me pics so that I can have and share those times in my life that were picture worthy.
I am getting along quite well with the brim of the tympany hat I am making for my cousin. I must say that I am quite proud of it if I do say so my self, and I do. The verigation is coming out so cool, red, green, turquoise, purple, navy, black, and gray. I have 6 blocks done and am about to start the seventh and will finish with the 8th. Then I can start the crown yea!

So TTFN Ta Ta For Now!

In my last entry I expressed the urge to knit something warm and comforting for my aunt how has breast cancer, I suggested a hat. To day, I realized that I have a started prayer shawl in need of an owner, DUH!! I had started the shawl before Christmas, I did not know why, but I knew that I had to make one, it has been slow going because there has not been a deadline or recipient to motivate me, now there is. It is a beautiful hunter/olive green, I hope she likes it.
And now I can not even remember the other ditzy thing I did! grrr.
I have been watching a lot of Thread Banger episodes today and am really starting to get into the make my own stuff motation. One we often hear too frequently these days. I have been reading the Knitting Heretic's blog and am truly astounded at how much cancer has affected her life. I also was listening to Kim from Knit Therapy about her bouts with cancer, ovarian and breast. Now I get news that my newest aunt, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This is after my cousin her stepdaughter, was killed in an auto accident some years back and her own son, my cousin was diagnosed with leukemia. He is fine now, but this brings the thoughts of pain and despair back to the fore front of my mind. How can there be such chaos and destruction in our own bodies? And how dose this horribly THING choose were to land? It makes one wonder, is our environment and what we put into our bodies so bad that our own being is turning upon its self? If one cannot trust their own body what can you trust? It is not only cancer I speak of, with my Crohns, every day I feel this small part of me wondering, why is my body turning on me? Is it my fault, what I eat, were I live, HOW I live? And if it is what could I be doing to fix all of this. I told my doctor of these feelings and he assured me that it was not what I was doing to my body, but what it was doing to its self. That just makes me feel horrible. I feel like damaged goods. But back to my aunt, she has 3 children and I can not fathom the pain this is causing the family and how the treatment will affect them. Hopefully it will bring the entire family together and bring out the good in all of us, unlike with my grandmothers passing. In preparation for her treatment and up coming months of illness, I have decided to knit her a hat, what pattern, I do not know, I shall decide tomorrow. For a liter side, a friend of mine gave me her new email the other day and it contained the word 'cancer' I was shocked and speechless, she looked at me kind of funny at my inarticulate sputtering, and said, "what, that's my sign." Perspective is always helpful in life.
I want to read some poetry after that thought-filled and emotional post, I sould get a book of Robert Frost, I always liked his work. . .

Sheesh. My plan was ultimately to blog on a regular basis. It was to be my outlet, see how that turned out.
As an update, I have GRADUATED NURSING SCHOOL!!!!!!! I finished my ADN program the 18th of December. I am so stoked. I am now just waiting for my authorization to test for the NCLEX I hope to take the test by the end of February. and at the END of February, for a secondary congratualory presant for graduating. The first was going to Florida with the family and I got a TAN! I haven't seen sun for, for, FOREVER!
On the Crohns front, I have taken a back slide, I think I may have gotten a stomac bug from work, but I haven't rebounded yet. Thank goodness this all landed very close to my most recent MD appt. My doc started me on a regimen of Flagyl, which takes me back to the see no sun time of my life and the worst of all, no alcohol. I can't even take nightquill! Oh well, it will only be for a month, then by then hopefuly, I will be better heath-wise and not have to worry about drug interactions.
Over the Florida vacation, I got to hang with 4 of my cousins. I haven't seen them for awhile and it was a good reunion. And I have an order/request for some knitted items. The first was a set of glove-mits from The knitters Bible a great book, and a hat that I found on Berroco. So as soon as I get the right size needle and the yarn I ordered, I will begin the projects, talk about stokage. I have a few UFO's but I don't feel any push to finish them as they are more warm weather items. I will probably finish them in March to get ready for the warm weather.
So I will make the comitment to blog more regularly, what is regularly, I haven't a clue?

Stay Warm!

My neighbor Meghan invited me yesterday and I said yes! I was very nervous because I don't really know Meghan but for saying hi when we meet, and then no one else at the party. I had a great time. I spent a little more than what I should have, but I think I will be very happy with my choices. I want to try to work Party Light, but am not sure about doing 6 shows in the first month, that is at least 2 shows a week / weekend I don't know if I have that much free time. I am starting to think that I may have to push back this start until I have a lot more free time. I seem to need to make my life hectic! However, I will meet and see more people this way, so that's a good thing.

I am almost done with the body of my Labyrinth top. I had a wonderful website, I used it mostly to keep my most used web address and things of that nature so they would not be floating around in my head and I would not have to rely on my sometimes shotty memory to find them. I recently recieved news that the web browser company I was useing to hoast my free site, is now removing all free sites and charging a yearly fee upwards of $20 a year. I do not want to pay for a place on the web to blog and keep all of my website links, so I decided to move to a real blog site, that happily, is free.

I just finished watching the movie, The Painted Veil, what a wonderful movie! I was very proud of Kitty for growing up and I loved that they got back together before he died. BUT HE DIED! grr! but it was still a very enjoyable movie.

I passed my test!!! I have now officially passed test 3 in OB and am 18 points above passing, so that gives me a very nice cushion going into the final.
