Localhost 403 Forbidden

When you typed in http://localhost and you got yourself Error 403, Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. you have to open your httpd-vhost.conf file with Notepad++ or any text editor you use and add at this at the end of the file:

DocumentRoot "C:\wamp\www"
ServerName localhost
# ServerAlias localhost

This is for when you use wamp. DocumentRoot is where your default directory for server. httpd-vhost.conf resides in C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.2\conf\extra

How to Restore File Attributes After Virus Attack

One of the things that irritate me is how my computer is suddenly attacked by viruses and cause some of the files to be hidden. Below is my favourite way to get rid of this annoyance.

1) Go to command prompt by typing cmd at Run (you can go to Run by going to Start)
2) Type the drive that has been modified by the virus. For example, your removable drive, F. Type F: and hit Enter. After that, please type the following command in your command prompt:

attrib –s –h *.* /S /D

hit enter after that.

You'll see that your files will be restored to its original attributes afterward.

Internet Download Manager 5.11 Review

Its speed is just like any other download manager but it is more usable than Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) and other ad-supported or trial based download manager. Plus, it doesn't try to download everything but recognise the type of file first unlike DAP that tries to download html file that ends with .exe or .zip (go to Sourceforge.net test this out).

I have another 7 days to go but I believe IDM stands on its own rank.

However, IDM doesn't have all the features I wanted to. I can't specify how many concurrent downloads I can make according to sites and if there's site that doesn't support download manager, I have to manually turn off link tracking options in IDM and that is cumbersome to me.

Overall, IDM is a good download manager but the options available are not enough for my itchy hands.

Note: I don't use it to download FLV because I found myself loving to use Techcrunch Youtube link grabber (or any online alternative).

Here you go: 7/10
What I think: Good enough to be used but not advanced enough. Faster to load than DAP. Speed, like any other download managers.

All of us knew that most of internet service provider provides a super cool traffic shaping feature in their internet connectivity package. They limit our usage and eventually, deflate our effort to promote P2P (Peer to Peer) culture. We al love p2p aren’t we? I share and you leech and then you do the same. That’s what we call ecology. OK, stop this long introduction and let me guide you to the first step:

1. Download and Install Proxomitron. You can download it by googling it or by going to this site (http://www.proxomitron.info/). If your firewall is triggered, just accept Proxomitron access to internet.

2. Open Proxomitron UI by clicking on that greenish icon (look in your start menu).

3. On your right, you’ll have edit filters column. Click on headers.

4. Go to this and you’ll see 6 user-agents. Click any one of it at “out” column. (Do not click more than one). Click OK.

5. Go to uTorrent (current: 1.72) and go to preference. Go to “Connection” section and in “proxy server” section, choose HTTP as type, with “localhost” as proxy and “8080” as port. Save your settings.

6. Open Log Window that is available within Proxomitron program.

If it goes wrong, you might restart your computer and comment.

How in the world business minded people like could dominate more than 90% of world's computer market? It is us, programmer than should take over the world. We are better than him, am I right?
