Whether a mom aborts her baby by going to a clinic and having an abortion, or whether, as is far more often the case, she aborts her baby unawares because she used abortifacient contraception (Pill, IUD, etc.), a real human being actually dies. And even unawares, a mother cries, no matter if that "crying" takes a form that doesn't look like physical crying with tears. It is fitting that so much

Watch this marvelous description of what it means to be two in one flesh as Martin Brenner discusses  Christ as Bridegroom in the Sacrifice and of being "given up" for His Bride, the Church here. He says that if husbands can't see themselves as bridegrooms who sacrifice themselves, being "given up" for their own brides regarding contraception, this is a denial of likeness to Christ as

I will post a series of YouTube vidoes on the topic of love, true love,  in honor of Valentine's Day. The idea isn't my original idea; rather, I'm following suit after another Catholic had the idea, Michael Voris. In the video for today, Dr. Brenner says that Pope Benedict says that the teaching of Humanae Vitae is crucial to an enduring civilization, crucial to the whole world. He also

Contraception is anti-love in its noblest sense. Noble sexual love does not put the other (male or female) at risk physically, emotionally, financially, or spiritually. All forms of contraception do put one or both persons at risk of harm in some substantial way, just as Pope Paul VI predicted in his encyclical of 1968, Humanae Vitae. Birth control is still control of women, whether used by the

Here is an article about the dangers of over the counter oral contraceptives, an idea being pushed to allow women to get oral contraceptives without a prescription.  There is indeed a war on women, but it's against our very sexual nature and its use as a part of being human persons. We should be free to be fully feminine WITHOUT endangering ourselves by tampering with our sexuality and

Not too long ago Bill O'Reilly made the astute observation that Americans are the ones responsible for the chaos that is currently enveloping this nation. While O'Reilly was not talking about moral chaos, the fact is that the national crisis of conscience is at the foundation of all that ails America. For example, we cannot blame the Obama administration for our own failure as pro-life

Here is an article about the link between the birth control pill and breast cancer. Though this article doesn't say so, I read in another article that in a test group of African American women, women who had EVER used the Pill had in increased risk of breast cancer. Other factors can be involved, but it seems interesting that all studies seem to indicate at least a slight risk. To hear the "

We are still in the darkest Dark Ages regarding women as property, given the horrible effects on our bodies of these so-called advances for women. Who are the primary users of BC? WOMEN! Whose bodies get cancer, suffer depression and countless other side effects of "silent" abortions unawares via Pill and IUD? WOMEN! And to benefit whom, so they won't have to take responsibility for their own

Thanks to Carmen for sending this link along, which includes some words from Lincoln's newly installed Bishop James Conley and other Catholic bishops. The contraceptive mandate calls Christians to heroic actions, and Hobby Lobby is one company that is answering that call heroically. Please read the article here, and pray for Hobby Lobby, for our country, and to know what you can do to give

These pictures with son and daughter and husband are from the Christmas present trip to NY that our kids gave us this year. We had so much fun!  I sent the post below to someone who just got diagnosed with breast cancer who expressed feeling overwhelmed by it all, but then I thought maybe some of you might be interested to see how one alternative looks, too. As I explore more and more the natural remedies God has provided through food, I'm amazed and awed and encouraged that He has not left those who do not share the wealth of America without means. In fact, the more I experience food choices typically not part of the American diet, I become more aware and alarmed that it is America's very wealth that is impoverishing so many men, women, children

Lest it be thought that I'm anti-man regarding immature irresponsibility when it comes to use of sexual faculties and treatment of women, I'm also opposed to the silly notion that women should be free to dress as they please in the skimpiest, most revealing outfits. Those who expose too much skin, be it breast, belly, thigh or leg, and then act surprised or insulted when a man gawks, grabs, or

This year, I'm most thankful that I am no longer a slave to my appetite for food. One way of dealing with cancer is to change one's lifestyle, and that change has resulted in healthy eating habits that have resulted in a loss of over thirty pounds so far. This is the first Thanksgiving in my entire life that I didn't stuff myself with all kinds of goodies, and stuff myself again a few hours

A couple of friends loaned a book to me recently called Adam and Eve After the Pill, by Mary Eberstat, and it was a real eye-opener, not only about the terrible side effects of contraceptives on all levels of our health and society, but also about something else: FOOD! Below is an excerpt from Ch. 6, p. 94,  "The Transvaluation of Values, Part One: Is Food the New Sex?": The

For years (I'm 63), I've agonized over the reality that I have been unable to shed weight gained over time that amounts to over double my young adult weight. I have felt that, in heralding sexual morality regarding fertility and sex, I myself have been obviously not in tune with nutritional purity. In short, I have been a hypocrite, one not facing the log in her own eye.   It has bothered

For people who don't realize how it was way back in the 60's when those of us who were young, married and fertile, this candid article is an amazing description of why we didn't put much, if any, stock in the prophetic words of Pope Paul VI in his apostolic letter Humanae Vitae  (of Human Life). For those of us who fell prey to the times, colored by outright dissent among some clergy and

Imagine! There is nothing an infertile couple desires more than to have their own child, so sometimes they spend over $20,000 to undergo one In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure on the chance that they might conceive and have a child. The trouble is, multiple conceptions take place outside of marital intercourse in the process. Conceptions, in reality, are babies, complete with 23 chromosomes

Dear Warriors for Life, Leaven for Humanae Vitae is a non-profit that helps those who live, defend, and/or promote the values of Humanae Vitae, and Doug Barry, host of EWTN's Life on the Rock and his wife Denise, certainly fit that description. They have been in Catholic evangelization apostolate for the past twenty-plus years, and we have learned about a desperate need that they have today!
