This television programme based on the ever so popular 'Grumpy Old' documentary style was one of the worst programmes that I have ever seen. A full half an hour of parents who spoil their children and then complain about how their children are awful because they ask them for things. The group of interviewees were unkown to anyone with the exception of the guy from Grumpy old men who does other stuff (apparently) as well. I just couldn't help but notice that all of these 'parents' were incredibly rich complaining that despite buying what their children desired they never use the products for which they pestered for.

Here is my closing statement:
Do not give your children everything that they want because they will become spoilt. Have some control for christ's sake.

With the final single of the latest album; Demon Days already released and the new band taking up all of Damon Albarn's time, is there enough space for Gorillaz? Unfortunately not.

May we forever have admiration for the amazing journey of Gorillaz.

BELIEVE ME your life will never be the same again!

Do they honestly think that this will work??? The above line is what was sent to me in an e-mail that went straight to my spam box (surprisingly). I was busy checking my inbox and checked my spam box to check that nothing had been sucked into it by mistake.

This line particularly infuriates me. I don't know who responds to this but if somebody tells me to believe them then I will be a bit suspicious and this will be the case even moreso if they put it in capital letters and in a bigger font. I am pretty sure that my life will not change on the off chance that I happen to be the recipient of an e-mail from somebody I have never spoken to before and who calls me not by my name but by my e-mail address. Don't you just hate spammers!

That's all and maybe I will start writing more stuff here if people actually bothered to read it!

The Simpsons; Look Again - Wednesday Evening

I know that I haven't written recently but here we go:

I am currently watching a Simpsons episode (Lisa &the 8th Commandment) and realised how many hidden morales are shown from an atheist standpoint. It occured to me that the old episodes were very dangerous to show if somebody were to look through the actual plot for America in the 20th century or even in the 21st.

In the heart of Middle America where the Bible rules, a Christian will typically be removed from society due to their lack to need to know much about the world around them as they see themselves as such a small part of it. This naivety and need not to question the things behind what is said is what allows The Simpsons to be what it is today.

In the particular episode that I am watching, we see the use of Hell as a tool to terrify children into Christianity. It shows how people are forced into Christianity because their own conscience doesn't enable them to 'sin' because of their utter fear of Hell.

I urge anyone who is anyone to watch the very last top of the pops programme in the UK (where it was started unlike the German, French and Netherlands programme) even if you don't watch it normally. The reason? Because it is the end of a 40 year era. A sad day for all though its image change did affect it badly which they blamed on music channels. I however still don't believe that ratings were so bad that it were to happen. Music videos can be seen over and over again but you don't get the experience of a live performance on Top of the Pops.

O2! I Saw What I Could Do... - Sunday Evening

WOW! The O2 Wireless festival in Leeds on Saturday was absolutley amazing. Gnarls Barkley being my personal highlight of the day. I also found out that I like Just Jack and DJ Shadow as well as Sway sort of. Also, because my telephone operator was O2, they allowed me access to the exclusive Blueroom which was available to O2 customers only. In the Blueroom area they had a 'make your own music video' type of thing (that I did not bother with) and massages (but there wasn't any available seats). Oh and by the way that was MASSAGES and not messages! Inside the Blueroom itself was a clubby type atmosphere with bar. There wasn't much going on so I just spent most of my time at the main stage where I saw Sway, Gnarls Barkley, Pharell, Goldfrapp and Massive Attack.

So all in all, it was a good trip with plenty to do and see. And I might go back next year. Thanks for reading and check out all of the amazing links above.

Revising: It's like hell with books! - Wednesday Afternoon

It's official: Revision is the worst possible punishment for not listening in lessons! With the rest of this week left to revise for about 5 exams next week I am completely and utterly sick of revision. I just feel sorry for the people who have been doing it since January! This morning was going well as it is the first day of revision where I haven't had someone telling me I had to do it and then now this has happened. I have started to browse the internet aimlessly and listen to music at the same time. The revision enthusiasm has gone and all that's left is time to contemplate and make new logos for the blog. Why? Because Gnarls Barkley has done it again and their single Crazy has been at No.1 in the UK Charts for 9 weeks. Not just that but they have released yet again a new website. I was shocked about this because I didn't really know why they would make a perfectly good website and only use it for about 20 days. Of course the new website is even more exciting! So hooray and rejoice. I am going to the O2 wireless festival in Leeds on Saturday the 24th of June so I am happy. Well I will be happy when I get the tickets because someone else ordered them and I am now worried whether or not she has chosen the right ticket!

Oh well. I am sure it will be fine. Got to go now because there is a wasp on my ceiling. Thanks for reading to the whole 0 people who visit this blog and I now look sad due to my talking to nobody. Goodbye.

This is the amazing new broadband channel from MTV. Not a lot of content on it as yet but more will come I am sure of that. Of course it would be a lot better if you could watch music videos but I suppose you can't have everything. Up to date MTV News bulletins and programmes are featured such as Pimp My Ride UK and the occasional programme from the "Dumb Ass" category aka Viva La Bam, Homewrecker etc. So check it out. If only every TV channel did this.

24. Losing its way? - Saturday Afternoon

I have done nothing all day but have been trying to learn about web2.0 and then css. Its all too complicated really and I have come to the point of giving up on the internet completely. But for now I will write a post on my worthless, no-readers, no-subscribers, un-updated for a week or so... blog. And I am here to say that my blog has been left to decay because I was left to decay with an illness of some kind. I didn't eat for 3 days and am still suffering the consequences. I haven't eaten normally since and I am really hungry at the moment.

Reffering back to the title of this post, I think that although good, 24 appears to be losing its original concept as we see the 24 counting clock disappearing for the whole of the first quater of the episode and only returning very briefly through the rest of it. The 4-screen set-up so that you can see everything that's going on has gone it appears and I for one am not to pleased about it. I also subscribed to the 24 Cast podcast which I realised just in time was made in America. This is what happened when I pressed play:

"Yeah... We just finished waching episode number 24..."

Instantly I thought that there were only 24 episodes in 24 and if I continued to listen then I would hear how the series ends. This would be horrifying to my ears and I would be devastated. The episode went straight to the recycle bin and I unsubscribed to the podcast. All I can say is thank god that I didn't hear anything. Phew!

No.1 is Orson in the UK Charts this week. What did I tell you people. I am the one coming out with all the big hits at the moment. If by next week Gnarls Barkley isn't number 1 then I will be so shocked that I may die. Well maybe not that drastic but you get the idea. Next Sunday at 7pm P!nk, The Strokes, The Streets and more (hopefully Gnarls Barkley) will be on. But do the Barkley guys even have a video out yet? I was thinking back to last year and it occured to me that I hadn't put the remixed version of Singin' in the rain on the laptop. Being very excited, I put my coursework on hold to give you this. It's amazing. It is the advert for the Golf GTi last year that featured a remix of singin in the rain (later extended to a 3 min version by Mint Royale) and had a breakdancer with Gene Kelly's face attached. Just seen a fantastic program about climate change. To take part in the show's experiment then go onto the experiment and if your computer has the correct requirements you can take part and download some software in order to help work out the future of our climate. It's a very important issue and all it uses up is your computer's idle time.
