Hey friends!

Long time, no write. I know you guys have been wondering where have I been. I haven’t blogged in over two years. Your girl has been busy. I started a business, went back to school and have been trying to get acclimated to living in Michigan again. The first two mentioned have been successful but living in Michigan has been challenging. It’s not because I don’t like it here. I don’t regret my decision to move from NYC, but my social life is non-existent. I miss that about New York. There was always something to do. And even if you didn’t have any one to roll with, you could go solo and either see people you knew or make friends. My spirit hasn’t motivated me to go to events by myself yet. Although I’m a frequent patron at the movies solo. Shout out to AMC A-List pass! I’ve seen just about ALL movies.

I’m still traveling. Since I’ve last written on this blog, I’ve been to Cuba, Mexico, the Caribbean and many other places! A recap will possibly come soon. But don’t hold me to it. Oh yeah, I also lived in Italy last summer. Some of you may have noticed if you follow my Instagram. That was life changing. It was great for my soul. I’m looking to live abroad again soon. Perhaps somewhere in South America.

I may grimace over not having a social life, but there are so many good things that have happened since I’ve moved back. I get to spend valuable time with my parents. We are always laughing when we get together. I value this time I get to spend with them. I moved away from home when I was 18 and stayed gone. Although we’ve always been close, we are making up for loss time. It’s fun. I’m grateful that I have a wonderful relationship with them.

I would have never been able to start a business or go to school if I were still living in NYC. Time and money wouldn’t have allowed for it because the cost of living is crazy high. But the Midwest is more reasonable.

Thankfully working for myself has allowed me the opportunity to travel when I want. I don’t have to request days off from work. I can just book a ticket and go. Up next I will be traveling to Honduras. I can’t wait.

I guess that’s it for now. I just wanted to jump on here and recap what’s been going on and why I haven’t blogged in a month of Sundays.

I’m back.

I won’t let two years come between us again.

A few summers ago I went on a Celebrity Cruise to Alaska. It was outstanding! If you follow the blog, then you know that I enjoy cruises. It’s one of the best ways to see the world when you don’t have a lot of time. Often times you can hit up several countries in just a week. But on this Alaskan cruise I just visited one state. And it was totally worth it.

I went during the summer and it was cold and rainy. I brought my rain boots and they were a life saver. So if you are planning to venture to Alaska during the summer months pack accordingly.

The ship left out of Seattle, Washington and made its way up the coast line. The trip was a few years ago so I don’t remember the order of the cities visited except that the 1st port was Ketchikan, Alaska.  We also visited Juneau, the Hubbard Glacier and Skagway where I got to go on a Gold Rush train tour. The last port of call was Vancouver, British Columbia. I looked up the Celebrity Cruises Alaskan itineraries, but it’s changed a little bit since I went.  It’s still worth a visit. Since my cruise was a few years ago. I don’t remember much so I’m just going to leave you with a highlight reel. I will say that I encourage everyone to visit Alaska if they can at least once. You don’t have to do it twice, but once is enough. It’s also a great trip to bring kids. They  will get to see whales, seals, other wild life and glaciers. It would be a fun and educational opportunity.

My holiday was great aside from a few family squabbles. I know everyone has them but Christmas can bring out the best and worst in people. What are you going to do? Let it roll of your shoulder and move on. For the record I wasn’t in the squabble. I was just an innocent bystander.

My two nieces are headed back to the ATL tomorrow. I’m going to miss them dearly even though they wore me out while they were here. They were a daily reminder of what it’s like to have children and whether or not I’m down for it. Kudos to all the moms out there! Y’all are troopers.

The group consensus is that 2016 totally sucked. And I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. Death was the theme and claimed many lives including my aunt and my favorite uncle. Sad times all around. And lets not mention the election. I’m still waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up because this can’t be real. I plan to live in a bubble for the next four years. I’ve actually already started. I’ve abandoned watching the Today Show because the first hour is all about him who will not be named on this blog. And the Today Show is my morning paper. They say ignorance is bliss. I’m going to try it – at least for the next term.

Have you made any resolutions? I haven’t. I’m abandoning resolutions this year. Lets face it – who accomplishes them? Every year I vow to lose weight and it NEVER happens. I’m just going to set mini goals this year. Blogging for 30 days straight is one of them. So I’m on 2 out of 2. Yay, me! They say 30 days make it a habit.

I would do a year in review but I don’t have the time since I’m trying to get this post up on January 1, 2017 and I only have 9 minutes to spare. But I will leave you with my #Best9of2016. And you know most of my pictures were travel related!

Everything else in my life is pretty much the same.  I’m down from two tennis lessons a week to one. I’m hoping I can incorporate more lessons again. If I could play tennis everyday, I would. It’s my favorite sport aside from skiing and the best exercise.

I’m still single although someone slid in my DMs a few months m ago. Of course I don’t check my messages so I found out weeks later. Nice guy. Not my cup of tea. I honestly think I’m going to stay single. And I’m totally ok with it.

I’ve been going out once a week.   This was something I promised to do in a previous blog post. And although I haven’t been posting about it much – except on Instagram and Snapchat – I’ve been sticking to it. Below are a few pics from my recent outings.
