It has been a while since we’ve featured Roza in TLP. The company now offers a web store at www.roza-bielizna.pl. The store is only available in Polish and offers pricing in Ztoty. (Visit www.xe.com for conversion rates.)

The brand continues to focus on elaborate strings, garters, and knickers with some bras and camis too. Prices are very reasonable. I’m guessing the quality is similar to other Polish manufacturers and with budgets tight all around, some splurges on a special kit might make you smile.

If you feel less adventurous, you can shop at retailer Cupid Lingerie. Prices are still reasonable, but I’m not sure Cupid is carrying all of the new pieces.

Monday night in Paris was an exciting time for fans of Christian Dior as well as fans of lingerie! John Galliano, Christian Dior’s creative director, was looking through old photos when he said that he “discovered an image of Marlene Dietrich in a tuxedo, with suspender straps attached to the bottom, the better to keep the jacket perfectly tight. Once I saw that I was flying.”

The result was the stunning Fall 2009 Couture runway show. Models strutted down the catwalk in outfits that reminded me of socialites not yet finished getting dressed for elaborate brunches or formal nights. They wore pairings such as voluminious jackets with garter belts and stockings, sheer crinolines, skirts with full slips, blazers with tap pants, ballgowns that revealed girdles, and dresses cut high enough to expose the skin between panties and stockings.

The models and the lingerie reminded me of many pieces from Secrets in Lace, so if you want to recreate some of these looks, I’d recommend checking there first!

If your chest is on the larger side, you may struggle (as I do) with getting enough at night. Plenty of women love the freedom they feel going bra-less while sleeping, but for me it is just plain uncomfortable! I know I’m not the only one, either, as lingerie manufacturers have begun offering more sleepwear with built-in cups and support. Here are a few options.

Previously, TLP introduced Fatou Kébé’s line of lingerie products. Fatou is back with a new collection with the inspirational tag line of « Because the woman is a jewel and her body is its case. » Fatou is still featuring the djaldjali, a beaded waist necklace worn around the waist by many African women.

The new collection is inspired by « Pile ou Face ? » (heads or tails). Fatou designs the front side with girly charm and the backside with smoldering sex appeal.

Pricing is a function of the beads used (resin, glass, crystal) and the material (cotton, jersey, lace, tulle). The range is 150 to 325 euros for a bra or a short nightdress and 99 to 271 euros for a string. Unlike most other kits, most of the detail for Fatou is in the strings with beading and other decorative flourishes.

Earlier this week, Italian microkini-label Divissima opened its own little outlet store for the sale of the old collection items from its site.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing my first Freya swimsuit at Linda’s Bra Salon on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. I was already well acquainted with the excellent fit of the Freya bras and was eager to have a swimsuit in my can’t-just-buy-it-at-Old Navy-size. At last, I was going to have fit and fun!  No longer would the triangle tops be solely for my A-C-cupped friends!

The staff at Linda’s was really helpful. Not only did they provide me options in my size, but also made suggestions about the fit of each suit. I finally settled on the Vodkatini suit in Cocoa.  Very Bond Girl!

I always love seeing the designs from Morgana Femme Couture, and this new collection of stunners is no exception! There are some new underbust corsets with matching nipple pasties.

MFC also designed two new cupped overbust designs because they have been so popular since the initial release – the cupped design supports your breasts without squishing them too far upward (a common problem with traditional overbust corsets).

The most exquisite new design is this red satin cupped longline corset with embroidered lace overly. It is completely hand beaded, sequined, and crsytallized with genuine red Swarovski rhinestones.

Last year, Agent Provocateur released the Season of the Witch collection, which included Iona, the leopard-print bodysuit. The bodysuit was popular at the time but is still making press months later. It seems to be quite a favorite of fashion spreads and celebrity outings!

First, we saw it on Daisy Lowe. She wore it on the runway and in the product photoshoot, and was also spotted wearing it to a Henry Holland party in September 2008:

That November, Lily Allen covered up a bit more with denim shorts:

It’s going to be the biggest change to the site since it began nearly a decade ago, and will be right at the cutting edge of Web 2.0 technology (which means lots of interactivity all your social networking malarkey) and more.

So, a thought occurred… why not open up the design process and have a logo competition. The rules are simple:

1. You can invent/create/design a new logo (and possibly slogan) for Stockings HQ using any font, colour scheme and design elements you like. It can be just a logo or a whole design treatment for the front page of the site. It has to be done on a computer but you can use any software you like.

2. All you have to do is email a JPEG or GIF to me (david@stockingshq.com) by the closing date of July 18th.

3. I’ll post the entries to a page on the site and work out some way of letting people vote on them.

4. The person who submits the winner (chosen by a combination of visitor votes and an editorial judging process) will get £100 to spend in the Stockings HQ shop.

5. We can’t guarantee to actually use it on the site (I haven’t seen any of the entries yet, so that would be a bit too much of a gamble!) but if it’s absolutely spot on, and you give us permission, it could well become the new official design for the site.

6. I’m sure I’ve missed something important, as it’s late at night and I’m sleep deprived, so I reserve the right to publish a more comprehensive set of rules on the site in due course.

7. And that’s it! Time to get creative…
