1.      Let The Draft Sit – for a week or two before attempting revisions will often provide a fresh eye.
2.      Read The Entire Manuscript – without taking notes. Read a week or two after completing the first draft, preferably in your favourite chair.
3.      Make A List – of areas of focus you want covered in the revision process. Check it off as you revise. A great list may include intended

I haven’t been at it long, but long enough to know it’s not an easy job. Actually, saying it’s not an easy job is undercutting it. Marketing and promoting is a kick-ass job. One that is full-time and takes as much effort as creating fabulous stories. Don't forget you also have to figure out what is bad

The Idea

Today I got an idea for a new story. Millions of people get them every day, less than half do something about it. And even less than that follow through.

Which category am I in?  Time will tell.

However, I have completed one manuscript – and it so counts – which puts me light years ahead of the half that don’t follow through with their story idea,

The fund raiser had a good turn out and the crowd was pleased after listening to authors read snippets of their work. Read were a mixture of poetry, short stories, and novel exerts. The event was held at ArtWord ArtBar in Hamilton.
